Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

03 Jan 2013 22:00:05
Lets just face it leeds are never going to splash the cash all our so called saviours want to do is try and get to the premier league on the cheap then get the pot of gold that comes with promotion not saying go out and spend 8 million that has been banded about even most premier league teams can't do that all we ask for is a bit of investment a bit of hope that things of changed from birds eye surely you can see that will get the fans behind you gfh in turn get bums on seats meaning more money in your pockets

Believable9 Unbelievable3

03 Jan 2013 22:55:06
Few days into winter transfer and your moaning.im sure there will be money spent but not more than 2 million on any single player .just because leicester , blackburn are willing to offer high wages and spend silly money doesn't mean they will be promoted .3 million plus players wages will get a few players and give us a good chance.

Agree6 Disagree2

If that's the case ill be more than happy but if was a gambler i would put money on more over the top loan signings that no one wants

There's a lot of tell about becchio going to forest on the forest rumour page. Proper giving us a slating

Believable0 Unbelievable9

When alls said and done, all this speculation is exactly that, speculation, NW will no doubt sign players we havent even considered, no marquee signings though, but hopefully Premier quality players to add to what weve got, get rid of our deadwood and keep our best players, should ensure at least a play off position.

Agree1 Disagree3

If we have to keep the dead wood in til end of season then get rid lets just make some signings now and some of the dead wood may leave knowing they won't play . I agree though bet nw signs a couple of players that haven't even been speculated by anyone Karl mot

Agree2 Disagree0

03 Jan 2013 21:56:19
Players I would like to see us sign
Gradel
Beckford
Kewell
McGugan
Grant (wycombe)
Russell (Dundee United)
A new centre back?

Players that can leave
Pugh
Brown
Gray
Green

Believable8 Unbelievable21

Greens been a good player for us this season

Agree29 Disagree1

03 Jan 2013 22:20:17
we dont want kewell

Agree31 Disagree1

04 Jan 2013 00:08:39
Kewell are u mad after wat he did to us .

Agree21 Disagree0

Really dont understand why people will have smith, kewell and beckford back but not howson.... someone please explain.

Agree7 Disagree3

If they were good enough id have them all back . truth is kewell smith harte are rubbish . howson and gradel id welcome both good players. beckford not good enough either Karl mot

Agree0 Disagree1

Because for two seasons Howson was the most overrated, lightweight player to ever play for Leeds. He constantly went missing for huge chunks of a game and got by on his 'Leeds-lad' image. He was loved by the same tin pot fans who spent yesterday celebrating a cup win from years ago. We don't just need a change of direction from our owners, we urgently need the majority of the Leeds fan base to come into the 21st century.

Agree2 Disagree2

Or maybe Howson was liked by fans who realised that he could score goals from midfield in the championship. 10 goals in 2010-11 which was his last full season for us shows that. Clayton got worse as soon as Howson left also. Also don't forget the crucial goal against Bristol Rovers and the assist at Old Trafford. Like him or not you can't write off the fact that he did well for us and got a move to the premiership as a result.

Agree1 Disagree1

Get real, Clayton got worse as he was being shafted by Bates who was paying him pittance wages. And Howson has been atrocious in the Premiership

I have just read on the a website transfer centre that Neil Danns has gone bk to Leicester, surely worth a shout? I would be quite happy with a striker out of Cms, Cameron jerome and what about big Kim Ojo from brann? Another winger could be Nigel hasslebaink? Just a few ideas..... MOT

Believable5 Unbelievable4

I've bored on about him before but Danns is quality ... Also a serious grafter. God - and Leeds - love a tryer.

so many rumours coming out of forest that becchio is on his way... it would be a huge step backwards for him if he was to go there.... surley its rubbish?? ............ Ed? {Ed013's Note - I think its rubbish, the big names always get rumours about them in the window, unfortunately for Leeds there isn't many big names left to make things up about. If he goes it will because Neil doesn't want him and has a better player lined up. It will cause a big uproar and a failure on GFH if he goes to a Championship rival}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I really hope that Luciano stays where he is .....

Agree8 Disagree0

03 Jan 2013 21:35:01
I know GFH won't want to give warnock much money this transfer window due to it being bad for business etc and the fact that he could be sacked by the summer, but they they should give him at least 2 mill i reckon along with (hopefully) the money from sales of the fringe players.

With the money i would get these targets:
Johnny Russell - Striker

Neil Danns - ( on loan )

George Boyd ( unlikely to
get him but he is what we need)

Im being realistic with these as neil will only be able to get max 3 players in with his budget really and won't look at defenders. MOT

Believable6 Unbelievable1

03 Jan 2013 21:31:49
It will really hack me off if GFH sell Becchio in the Jan window. All the talk has been of how difficult it is to get a) VFM in january, inflated prices ect and b) will take time for any new recruits to 'gel' into the remaining squad. Therefore what possible logic in selling LB to florist or whoever given that any replacement is going to have to get used to a new squad, manager, different way of playing etc and all the more baffling when you consider we already have a player, contracted for a further 18 months who has already 'gelled'?! Investing in Leeds United ON the field is not consistent with selling one of the divisions top scorers. If this happens then wave goodbye to promotion this season, not the sort of message the fans need to hear right now is that we are still a selling club and are not guaranteed to get an adequate replacement. LB is not a player we want to be shedding at this time.

Anybody else detect the [ADVICE] of our former owner here?

Unbelievable news, not a rumour, FACT, I have used Capitals because this is the truest thing you will have ever read on any site.

Now we all know that Uncle Ken is a tad shady but we never really knew how many pies he had his fingers in, nor indeed how many fingers the sneaky old so an so has.

It is said that he has no love for Leeds Utd, and had only saved us from extinction to make money, there is probably some truth to that but anyway I digress.

KB owns a bit of land, a large bit of land which my source tells me he is going to give to a foreign country on the promise that All their future international standard talent comes to Leeds Utd. So our future is assured fellas, all is good

I do feel a tad sorry for the Falkland Islanders though, i have to say.

Why have you heard it here first

Because I could not find a site called leedsfacts.com

Time to move on from our old players, they didn't want to stick around when we had no money, why should we welcome them back now?

We all know Neil warnock has publicly stated he is after a good striker here are some of those strikers who are on his list.

Boyd-Peterborough
McDonald-Middlesbrough
Blackstock-Nottingham
Hooper-Celtic
Jerome-Stoke
Austin-Burnley

Which one of these strikers would you least like to see him sign or do you think that any of the above will actually be the striker he goes for ??

firstly i dont think bechio will want to leave as we kicked off his career and he is 29 now. also warnock wont want him to leave, i dint think hes leaving

Believable7 Unbelievable0

I cant imagine he will want to leave but if somebody comes and offers him enough money, he will have to have a serious look at it. Football is such a short career and 30k a week could make the future much more comfortable and turn anybody's head.

KENNY (GK)

PELTIER (RB) TATE (CB) LEES (CB) DRURY (although would prefer replacement but not heard any rumours (LB)

AUSTIN (DEFENSIVE MIDFIELD THINK SCOTT PARKERS ROLE AT SPURS BREAKING DOWN ATTACK AND HOOVERING UP LOOSE BALLS)

BYRAM (RW) GRADEL or BOYD (LW)

DIOUF or McCORMACK (ATTACKING MID)

CMS (or maybe blackstock) (S) BECCHIO (S)

FORMATION 4 1-2-1 2 pulling back to 4-4-2 if needed

Subs GREEN, WHITE, NORRIS, SOMMA, PEIRCE (although would interchange with the other two CB), ASHDOWN, HALL, TONGE

Just saw that Jonathan Greening has returned from a loan spell to Notts Forest. I know he is over 30 but he can put his foot on it, dictate the tempo and pick a pass. He is obviously not in favour at Forest and might actually be affordable. Plus he is a Yorkshire lad- from York if memory serves. We need a bit of composure to give us some fluency rather than 'honking' it up the field all the time. This is the sort of realistic target I would be looking at.

Agree5 Disagree1

Bates is still running the club till the end of the season remember. Trust me i know what happened. NW rung Bates for £1m to bid from Chris Wood and got a big fat no! This is a true fact don't get too exited this january just hope NW works his magic with no cash!

Agree1 Disagree9

His wage demands were ridiculous for this league. Leicester love paying people too much.

Agree5 Disagree1

The guy just above the post above this post wrote 'Fact' AND 'Trust Me'. And we know what that means.

Agree4 Disagree0

Wages or tranfer fee doesnt make any difference our problem is wage structure. In other words no one new player will be offered any more money than our highest player cos it would cause mutiny so in other words we cant get any of the so called iceing on the cake list because they would want higher wages than we pay! Brings us down to earth doesnt it!

why keep tate n get rid of kisnorbo. kisnorbo has done far more 4 our team n hes better by along way

Believable1 Unbelievable17

Kisnorbo has gone out on loan for a month to get match fit which makes perfect sense to me and many others (original poster not included).

Agree8 Disagree0

To get match fitness for when Tate's loan ends, hopefully.

Agree1 Disagree2

We only see the players in matches, obviously the manager decides his best 11 based on watching them day in and day out in training. NW is not a complete person therefore, at this point in time, Tate must be the better player

To the person who says he couldnt wait to go to chelsea from leeds.......we sold him to Athletico Madrid, get your facts straight, cheer up!

Agree8 Disagree1

Only because we wouldnt sell him direct to another pl team. His first choice all along was chelsea. Doesnt alter the sentiment of my original post about JFH. No place at Leeds for him in any capacity.

Agree6 Disagree1

In interview before Florest game said he didn't want to leave Leeds. Also he went to Athletico Madrid from Leeds not Chelsea we sold him for £14m. Not experienced enough to take on manager role as Leeds yet tho'

Believable3 Unbelievable9

I think every game shud be cat b . that wud be fair for both parties, you have to think about people who have bought season tickets aswell . {Ed013's Note - I have a season ticket, but would rather see the ground full at this stage and kids should be £1 a ticket with every paying adult}

BOYD, DORRANS, McGUGAN. Three names who will be involved in Leeds negotiations. All bring something to the game but no guarantee which one, if any will sign. Potential for BLACKSTOCK if price is right. Keep an eye on Bristol winger ALBERT ADMONAH. Performing well and several big clubs interested and Bristol need to sell a prized asset to fund other transfers. Probably Palace will snatch if ZAHA goes.(Fulham, Stoke, Sunderland, Villa all interested) if we cant get THOMAS then hes a great option if we can get in early and stump up a good price. Keep an eye on him in City game soon (19th if hes still playing) If we lose to Bristol it will be from ADOMAH running us ragged. Club scouts take note if your not driving around watching these games.

Why not do tickets at £10 for adults £5 kids??

Believable15 Unbelievable1

I think we've already seen the strength of GFH's checkbook. We don't have the power to pull in average players and i thought this was the start of something speacial. Why buy a club and have nothing to put in, unless they really do think we're dumb!

its against another championship team so the price isn't bad if it was lower league the price probably would be lot less.
i think we have got the pulling power i just think they are not willing to over spend on player wages which is acceptable . im guessing your moaning about missing out on wood who is now on a prem league wage of about double what any of our top players are on.

Agree6 Disagree0

£20 aint bad. How else they supposed to run a club?

Agree7 Disagree1

The price of kids under a certain age should maybe be free to give every kid a chance to see Leeds play not every parent can afford to pay for there kids aswell as themselves so young kids don't get the chance to experience the games and maybe won't get into footy as much as they should

Agree3 Disagree0

If we followed your example, then we would have to have a crowd of over 30, 000 to make the same money...think about it mate. Besides it'll be around 18, 000 that's there so we couldn't make the same money if we slashed the prices, they're not even that bad.

Agree1 Disagree0

Cheaper tickets mean higher attendance, higher attendance means more wet side income (food and drink). 30, 000 fans spending on cheap tickets plus food and drink is better than 15, 000 fans who pay for expensive tickets and cant then afford the food and drink..... its quite simple business sense to me, not to say what 30, 000 regular supporters do to the clubs standing and reputation!!, what do you think?

Agree4 Disagree0

Anyone seen the website for the tickets sold ? Only about 8500 GFH need to get it right price wise next time

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jan 2013 09:36:55
No need for Warnock to sell before he buys this transfer window (think thats the first time we can say that for a very long time). He doesn't want to get rid of too many players as the squad is quite small but will be trimming some of the deadwood out of the squad to make way for some better quality backup.

However if decent bids come in for our better players then the new management will consider them. Thank goodness that this board will have a better idea of the value of players compared to Bates so at least we won't sell players on the cheap.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

I thought these coming in was to give us the boost to get better players, not to help us get a better understanding of what there value is. They sell anyone for less than really good money and i say good luck to getting them crowds back.

A bit off topic from transfers, but I'm sure all of you have seen the kid dressed like diouf going round the internet. I think its great that he's only been at the club a short while, and already he has fans dressing like him. But then there are people calling the kid racist. Well i ask you, what colour is diouf? He certainly aint white! So how is it racist to be the same colour as diouf. He himself seemed happy with with the kid dressing up! People nowadays... If you just use the word black its racist!

Leeds Demon {Ed001's Note - I was watching the UFC at the weekend, two guys, one black, one white were fighting, both in white shorts, so they were trying to explain which was which by the trim on their shorts! How ludicrous is that??? What is wrong with being able to tell two people apart by the colour of their skin or hair or anything else which marks them out as two different people? It is not like it is an insult to be black, it is just a skin colour. People are far too sensitive these days.}

Austin Dorrans Green Gradel would be some quartet in midfield. Make it happen GFH. Will take about 5 million pounds to do it.

The word is that malouda is a big possibility this transfer window as he wants 1st team play !

Why is it that nearly every name that is mentioned, somebody comes on to slag him off or say he's too old or played for the wrong team.

Can you imagine if the internet was around in the late 80's when we signed a 32 year old Man u player... Gordon Strachan ...to partner Vinny Jones in midfield!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

But Strachan was world class mate, that's the difference. If we signed Lampard tomorrow I doubt anyone would complain and he's 34..

Agree1 Disagree0

He wasn't even close to world class...

Agree1 Disagree1

Was he world class before he came to us though, he came to Leeds when we were in old second division after a fall out with old red nose. It was only when he linked up with Mac, Speed and Batty a couple of seasons later that the 4 of them clicked and history was written.

No rumour; just thought Hill and Derry looked solid against Chelsea tonight. Can't see 'Arry letting them go to be honest. Good thing nobody here seems to want them. Personally I think we could use them if we're going to make a promotion push. PK

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Yes they may well have looked solid for the odd game or 2 but the point is we need players to be that consistant week in week out and I don't think they would have the legs to do this.

GFH need to show some investment to really get the fans on side
Matt killgalon
Ignacio Scocco / Max Gradel
Alejandro Faurlin
Ian Harte / George Elokobi

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Have they not showed enough already, by paying £52 MILLION for the club, and also....

1 - They put funds into the club before the sale had even gone through
2 - They signed EHD up on 18 mth deal, top signing.
3 - I quote NW, when we was signing Thomas on loan there was a last minute issue which "they sorted in 5 mins"
4 - They have already said that funds will be available in Jan window.

What is your problem, They have been in charge for 2 min's give them a chance and stop moaning. I for one am just pleased the nightmare of the last 5+ years is over, ok we might not get back to PL just yet but at least we are now going in the right direction.

Agree9 Disagree1

They said they wanted up this year or next. So how they going to do that, with the squad we already have? How long has it been since we bought a million pound player. There telling people to come back and fill the ground but we've been through 7 yrs of carp. So i say over to you GFH.
BARMY ARMY!!!

Agree2 Disagree0

They actually said their business plan doesnt revolve around the team being in the prem so i doubt they will even attempt to get us promoted they will just keep us a mid table championship side as long as the profits are rolling in they dont give 2 rubbishs i mean cmon u spend £52m on one of the biggest clubs in england and then say it isnt essential to get it into the prem? they have no passion (and from whats happened so far regarding transfers - no money).......

Agree3 Disagree2

We're hardly wallowing in surplus cash generated from fans.
Saying that the business model doesn't rely on Prem football means completely the opposite to what you assumed.
The idea of the business model is to sustain investement in the team. That this does NOT rely on us getting into the Premiership (for instance, paying Prem wages which would be unsustainable unless we were actually in the Premier League). It does not mean that they do not want to get into the Premier League. Just means that we won't collapse under the weight of unsustainable losses trying to get there. I for one think this is a sound plan from some guys who obviously know what they're doing.

Agree1 Disagree0

If they had fans on side why are attendances still lower than what acheived in league 1 and no fan would be happy with their club at staying in the league just benefit the owners every team strives to be at the top and leeds deserve to be back there not a mid table championship team

January Third
Remember the date
We beat the team that we f**king hate
We knocked the out the FA Cup
We're super Leeds and were going up!!!

Believable12 Unbelievable12

Haha love it!

Agree0 Disagree0

It was 3 yr ago its about time we stopped singing this at games its embarrassing that we have to sing about a 3yr old achievment

Agree21 Disagree4

It makes us look like a tin pot club still going on about this

Agree20 Disagree0

It doesnt matter if it was 10 years ago never mind 3 we still beat them in there own back yard and that is some achievement in itself its not often we beat the away from home so we have to make the most of it when we do.

Agree2 Disagree14

I suppose we should also stop signing Dom Matteo scored a f**king great goal... in the san siro... in the san siro?
As you put it, it is an old achievement. And how about 'we are the champions, champions of europe'?

Just because it was an old achievement doesn't mean we stop singing about them!

Agree4 Disagree7

So if we get into the prem and we beat man city at home will we sing about tht for 3 years? cmon guys we're leeds united we're better thn this to be holding onto a victory against a so-so man united side in a fkin FA Cup run.....

Agree12 Disagree0

I personally don't sing any of the songs about man utd & Chelsea we haven't even been in the same league for 10'years
I'd be embarrassed to sing them when we are playing the likes of Sheff weds and the other championship teams
But that's my personal opinion... Some people need to realise we are a million miles away from the great team we once were

Agree11 Disagree0

Ive noticed hardly any fans in the kop now join in with the man utd and chelski songs compared to a few seasons back... Bates has ruined our once great club and i really do fear GFH cant bring us back, i wish we would of hung on and got haskill at least he said straight away there would be 10, mil in january for new players

Birmingham on Saturday. Bit of
serendipity here - former managers
include Terry Cooper (no explanation
needed), my old friend Barry Fry,
Steve Bruce (Alex), Alex McLeish
(who at least took over at
Nottingham Forest AFTER they
thrashed us, and Lee Clark who we
nearly had before Neil (in whom
we trust). Come on you Leeds :o)

Believable1 Unbelievable4

And your point is?

Agree5 Disagree0

Nothing in particular. Just looking at
the managers we have in common. Apart from Barry Fry. I threw him in
there to check you were all paying
attention. He was, at Dunstable, all
those years ago clearly - he signed
George Best!
