A one, a two, a one two three :

"Sacked in the morning, Frankie Lampard's getting sacked in the morning đŸŽ”đŸ˜‚"

'Tactical genius' Frankie 🔭📡 will be feeling the heat🧯 even more tonight.

Don't think he will Zooks, i hope he will be given the season because sacking him now will give his fans a get out of jail card by saying he was never given time .

He seems arrogant and aloof and this job has only made this worse, Chelsea are way way off the pace.

There is that Chris . ok end of the season it is for Frankie's P45.

It’s difficult times right now so many people.
Let’s just take time to Thank Fat Frank for cheering us up, by giving us something to laugh about! The arrogant, privileged pr1ck!

Indeed Brighty 😊

I expect Frankie will end up just being a ' pundit ' after the Chelski job.

I have been speaking to one of my friends, who is a Chelsea fan, about this one quite a lot. We both agree that he will probably be given until the end of the season, and suspect that he was chosen just to bring players through for a couple of seasons as the fans would be more patient with him than they would be with most others.

Next season he will be binned off to the Championship where he will turn another team into a de facto extension of the Chelsea academy.

Centre back loan signing.
Creative midfielder permanent
Experienced commanding goal coverage
Left back on loan

What’s the latest on llorente?

FFS. he’s only played one game. should have been his Spanish international legs tracking Son’s run.

I honestly think we have the best young goal keeper in the world . I think changing him would be madness and there ain’t many better keepers out there (also on commanding anyone seen he has catched more crosses this season than any other Orem keeper)

I agree on cb but think we need to give Koch and lorrente time if they ever get belisa fit

Left back is a must

I know I bang on but with how much we create I am happy with creative mid but with how many we concede I think a dm is a far better move. Personally I would love to be able to cherry pick Phillips games play him when he will be good and drop him when he will be out muscled and out paced.

Jan transfer window

A central midfielder number 8 is a must.

A left back and number 9 most desirable

However, I am expecting Orta to only sign just his prerequisite U23 player or two.

Baz Whilst we need the strength in depth and positions you identify, coming across such potential deals in this month unlikely. Remember it's only worth doing if the signing improves the side. We are a mid-table team so it means acquiring a top 6 material PL level player. Will have to wait until the summer. No-one is selling such a player to us or any team in the PL right now. Just my opinion. From what I've read, all the agents are actually discussing possible summer deals right now as opposed to business in this window.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Jan 2021 16:39:24
I wouldn’t be surprised if there was zero business done in this window. If anything a loan for CB cover. Maybe one or two young acquisitions for the development squad.
As for Meslier he should definitely stay put, he is an incredible talent and will learn very quickly i'm sure.

03 Jan 2021 16:45:07
Yep fully agree George, this summer will be the window to recruit. But maybe, just maybe a top standard signing becomes available in January.

It used to happen frequently in the 90s Strachan, Chapman, Yeboah.

Sorry to make you feel old bv but Strachan was the 80s.

We will be fine this season.
Our last summer signings will adapt to MB ball, and our fitness regime, with the help of our amazing medical team. We will sign one player only this window who will also take time to adapt.
A 12th place finish will be accepted as a positive from “real” fans (đŸ€Ł) .
We will reinvest again in the summer, and qualify for Europe next year.
Thanks.
Mystic Meg.

Harrison is already 1 loanee, only allowed 2, I personally would pay the 8 mill (if correct fee) for Harrison now, then loan Stones, this would suit all parties but doubt it would happen
CM a must, Klich running on empty, Pablo (although good for 3p mins) not the answer
Would fat frank loan us Tomori?

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Jan 2021 07:45:19
I think the fee agre3d for Harrison at the start of this season was 10 million.

GK - Cover and someone to push Meslier
LB - Love Alioski but not good enough against top sides
CB - Not going to be popular this but Cooper not Prem quality IMO actually prefer Ayling there
CF - Bamford will start every game when fit but if he gets injured?

We were punished

A) For mistakes. the best teams will do that
B) For not converting chances

This was Mourinho’s game plan with his title challenging side.

Our team still has a way to go and grow. The team is on the whole progressing.

Would be quite OK with us finishing 12th this year, playing exciting football and kicking on for Europe next year.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

03 Jan 2021 12:23:22
Are we progressing? That is my worry because for me it’s the same thing week in week out. We can even call the goal scorers and how they will score

Was we better yesterday against spurs than we was against Liverpool 16 odd games ago?

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jan 2021 14:09:26
We are not really progressing in eradicating stupid mistakes/ giving the ball away.

To be fair we have though progressed a tad in the past 3 games in defending corners even including the Spurs 3rd goal.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jan 2021 14:58:37
Of course we're progressing! We're a mid table premier league side, not a mid table championship side that we were before Bielsa arrived. 🙈
Let's not run before we can walk eh?

Agree3 Disagree0

03 Jan 2021 15:11:53
True bv but not progressing much on corners

We did let in a goal through set play against Burnley but it was wrongly ruled out we then let in corner from spurs so only game we didn’t let in a set play goal was against West Brom who are awful.

How are we not progressing?
Competing with the teams around us. Playing great football. Yes we make mistakes. Yea we get beat by teams who are challenging in Europe!
But would you rather be battling Luton or back to playing colchester hoping for Beckfford to score.
Consolidation is the name of the game and then push on a little next. Year.
Serious. I want to win the prem but we have come a long way on AND off the pitch. I’m proud and excited by this team.

Danum has it correct. Our season back is about keeping consistent our well-known style of play against all teams. That is the decision Bielsa took. I think the right one because he's entitled to take a look and see how things are in the PL in his inaugural season. We have sufficient quality to reach 50 points playing our style. I believe we will end the season on 52 points. Next season provided Bub is here, he'll adapt to the big boys with a different style aided by a bigger and better playing squad. Even though I dislike him, Rio said it best. If you go man for man against the best teams in the league, eventually you'll concede goals because there's too much quality in these players once the space is inevitably found. Set piece defence will improve as Meslier gets more experience and Struick is already showing he's on a par with Cooper and is capable of becoming a superior player. Future is bright but I hope we retain Bub for next season.

03 Jan 2021 17:32:10
Palace and West Ham are not challenging for Europe

We are moving forward as a club of course

Guess it is how you look at progression. Are we still useless at set plays? Do we still struggle against teams who sit back? Do we still get cut open with ease on counter attack? Do we still struggle to find plan b?

In that sense I see no progression in last three years and not sure it would ever come in a month of Sunday’s.

Possibly our first 3 choice centre backs out injured, a young keeper who can only get better, a small squad with majority championship players. Of course we are going to give the ball away and of course you are going to concede goals when you have 3 of your tallest players injured. Take 3 1st choice centre backs from any team in this league and tell me they don’t concede more goals. Especially from set plays.

04 Jan 2021 00:40:34

There are people who score goals then there are Goalscorers. Bamford scores goals but then he should with the chances he is given. What we need is a Natural Goalscorer. I am hoping that our capture of wonderkids, Gelhart, Greenwood and Allen may be the answer and save millions but in the meantime Rodrigo needs to kick on and show the knack that his price tag suggests.

This is why that Crawley hopefully will show us the young guns progress. While, for me the back four picks itself the striker/ AM positions are up for grabs and it is now up to whoever wants it to grab it with both hands. Baz seems to have picked a team that could do a job, (Hopefully Marcelo reads his post) as they say, the only way to tell is play them.

Leo, Rodrigo goalacoring stats are around 1 goal every 4 games.

I agree Loedis but said this before

Belisa will never ever play a goal scorer. They don’t fit his system and his plan. it is why nektia never got a game

We could have sniffer clarke, champman, Ian Wright name them all in there prime they would not be used under belisa

If anyone really wants an out and out number 9 then you just want the Gaffer out because to get both is not possible.

Bermo

Agree with your post further up, regarding Meslier. I don't go watching keepers from around the world but I have seen a young Lukic, Robinson and Carson as well as a young Butland and McCarthy and I can say that Meslier is definitely looking a better keeper than any of those did at a comparable age.

I absolutely love how desperate he is to dominate his area. Sure he will have to learn how to do it, but I have seen lots of keepers who just want to stand on their line and let their defence get blamed for mistakes. That young man has guts

However. I definitely think that a Haaland could easily slip in to the Bielsa system. After all it is Haaland tapes that Bielsa is sending to Bamford to watch.

Bamford is very good at running the channels, closing down on the centre backs, and offering a target upfront. However Haaland does all those things AND scores bags of goals. Now I am not suggesting we bid for Haaland, too many pennies and we ain't high profile enough for hom, but I am saying there are goalscorers out there that could improve on the other bits under Bielsa tutelage, just like Bamford did.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jan 2021 17:36:13
I agree axe with regard to hallamd but he is as you say 100 mill player

What some on here want is an out and out goal scorer and belisa will never pick or play one

Strikers who are in the Bamford mould but better are too expensive for us. Leeds fans have to accept Bamford is by far the best we can get unless we get billionaire new owner or the gaffer leaves and we get a new manager who likes a number 9 as belisa hates number 9s unless they are hybrid of number 9 and ten like hallamd or Henry and we won’t get one of them.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jan 2021 18:43:33
I wonder when (if) Bielsa will decide all that running around and defending does not cover up the lack of goals. Right now for all the missed chances we could play a false number 9 and play an extra DM.

First Game I missed live. Gone away for a few days.
BBC text said that although score line suggests we were thumped. We weren't.
Matched them all over the park except the quality of their two front men.
I think it's fair to say that we have the teams below us sorted but will offer the big boys enough space to score at will.
From what I can gather sloppy passing again. I did notice teams have started to press us harder when we play out from the back trying to cause us to make mistakes.
The only thing for sure is that we won't change our style.
One does wonder though with a slightly more cautious approach we could be a fair bit higher.

Hard one to call

They didn’t put play us but they also won at a canter and never really hit top gear

They looked dangerous every time we never really threatened

Again it’s the football snobs we had all the possessions and passes but did nothing with it.
