Feel MC could have missed a trick here, we should have got riga not let him go to blackpool.
Top coach who worked wonders at charlton, also used to having players brought in from owner so would have been used to working that way, allowing mc to buy players, hope we've still an outside chance of getting him

{Ed003's Note - You just leave him alone :-) }

Ed003's. Haha cheers ed, but he is a good coach mate

Apologies to ED13

Did not realize how long my previous post was so understand if it doesn't get posted, I know I couldn't sit back and read all that, not even with a cold one haha.

Does everyone really think O'Leary would be a bad choice for a return? He was a coach to start with as I remember and only when the champions league and expectations of challenging for the title came about did he under advisement from Gerard Houlier delegate responsibilitys and so Brian Kidd was brought into take coaching. The football we played under him was quality at times and the defending was one thing we have not had for a long time! (Solid) His first choice defence of, Mills, Ferdinand, Woodgate, Matteo, never conceded a goal in their 10 games. His signings of Batty, Dacourt, Bridges, (Huckleberry hound and Wilcox excluded but to be honest did a job) Mills, Keane, Viduka, and yes I will put Fowler in because at 11 mill he was bought at christmas and finished the season joint top scorer with Viduka and said Leeds were the only fans he could imagine playing in front of if he left Liverpool. We as fans were let down in that period by the people who run the club. Bowyer, Woodgate, even Dubbery and Bridges with the incident at Madjeskic caused problems to what ended and maybe contributed in our exit from the premier league. Bowyer seemed to thrive with performance after performance but Woodgate didn't and in my opinion was every bit as good as Rio if not better. Terry Venables said it himself in a pressconfrence with (Peter likes goldfish) saying "I knew Rio was going after the world cup, but he goes for 29 million and Johnathan goes to Newcastle for 9!? There is a 20 missing in my opinion." I think the fans of this great club that have such a great following around the world! THE BEST AWAY SUPPORT without a doubt! Now deserve happy time (sorry ma bird was muttering to me so happy time took a whole new meaning! I'm getting the car for work tomorrow haha) Anyways I would start with a coach like George Graham to kick us off because he sorted the defence and built from there. Times have changed since Wilco but he brought Vinnie Jones in to help kick us out this league! Think it is unfair on Vin because he could play but he was good at scaring the shyte out of the top players who like to dwell on the ball.
All da best fellow Leeds fans and let's hope for a top coach. Mot

For me Roberto Di Matteo fits the bill perfectly. Great coach in my opinion, good results at mk dons, top level experience with Chelsea and very ambitious/passionate. Also Italian and name starts with D (as per jeff's comment). MOT

Also got west brom promoted to the prem.

I'd hate to be at McDs next club, how can their support compare to ours and their supporters will be sick to death of hearing about Leeds & Reading. Thank god we don't have to hear it anymore. Nice bloke but?
MC has lots to do in short space of time now. Sort bank & petition. Sort squad for pre season, sort manager asap. Clearly needs help from those around him but I'm more confident now that we will be in a decent position within a fortnight. Lufc MOT

Former Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo is being considered for the Leeds United manager's job.

Just read that Wooton cost 1 million! Surely can't be true? Why is it Manchester United youngsters always command a big fee even when they are crap? Other clubs youngsters who not good enough for their team move on for little or mostly free transfers but they seem to have some sort of unwritten contract where their young players always go for big cash, even those with hardly any 1st team experience! How can teams justify paying 1 miilion plus on a kid with no or little experience, deemed not good enough at his current club. How much would Wooton have cost us if it was, say, Swansea letting him go? Zero, zilch, sweet fa, is the answer! Clubs need to wise up on this and stop giving them cash for cast offs. MOT.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree but I think wonton will come good.

Same principal that got wes brown 23 england caps. mu players generally are viewed through rose tinted spectacles by the footballing establishment which foregoes any objective assessment of ability.
Its why phil jones/smalling are in brazil now,. if either of those players were at other clubs they wouldn't get a sniff at an england shirt(unless they bought it themselves from jib). Both are useless.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wootton cost 1m, Hunt on 25k a week and Murphy 22k a week and who knows what we are paying Stewart. Anyone need any more reason why BmD just had to go.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its common knowledge MC got the Hunt wages mixed up with someone else, think its been posted QUITE A FEW times.
As for Wooton he does look a waste of money at the moment but he's still young and you never know ;(

Agree0 Disagree0

Wooton cost £250,000.Fact.

Agree0 Disagree0

If it makes you feel any better think a fair bit of the money was future ad ons, appearance related and the like

Guarantee you Wooton will not come good. He's league 1 standard and no more. He doesn't even have the legs of a footballer.

well we seem to have different versions of events following mc meeting with the players. He was polite and cordial, the daily mail saying discord amongst players.I think a number will be departing, mc is not going to say players either not good enough, or unhappy if he wants to get a good price for them.THE SIMPLE TRUTH IS A NUMBER OF THOSE PLAYERS LET US DOWN.So they either are not good enough or could not be bothered to earn their exceedingly good wages.I do not see mc putting up with at best mediocrity . So in order to comply with ffp, and to mitigate current losses, I have no doubt a number will have played their last game for our once mighty club.Of those who exceeded expectation ross is likely to depart due to his loyalty to our former manager, this will be good for the club freeing up transfer funds, and allowing further room on the wage bill.Five or six quality addditions combined with integrating a few emerging home grown players, I believe will put us in contention by Christmas.Provided that we see good average crowds at Elland road, then mc will undoubtedly invest to make a concerted push for promotion.I would like to see a new keeper with paddy as back up, a commanding centre half to partner Jason pearce, a mid field general, a quality winger, and a couple of good strikers. As for who I expect an influx of Italians, along with an English speaking Italian manager, leading to a more fluid patient passing style of football, which at the very least will be a joy to watch .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Some good points there jacy. I don't really want to see Ross go, but if the money offered is very good, then as you state we can use it to add much needed quality throughout the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't want to see Ross go, if we get 8 mill, how much would we get to spend on new striker? With out him we would of been relegated! We should be building around him, not letting him go

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jun 2014 18:48:14
How much do you think it would cost for a 29 goal striker?! 8 to 10 mill perhaps. Don't think we will be a better team should RM go but if his loyalty towards vmc is pivotal we may have no choice but to sell,. sad but true

Agree0 Disagree0

I do not think a lot of players will come in. Cellino has said the squad is good. I expect Lewis Cook to come into the first team squad. 5 or 6 will go. Nothing much will happen this year. Cellino is looking to steady the ship. He has already changed the 2 years until promotion to 3 years. Anybody coming in will be cheap young and hungry.

Agree0 Disagree0

And he's forgotten to buy back ER.

Agree0 Disagree0

We've gotten rid of 8 first team players though, we surely have to bring in at least 6. The other two will probably be youth players. I feel we need 10+ new players as were one of the poorest sides in the division

I'll be happy with a decent fitness coach,
Who plays the passing game. The managers
Already here. Let him get on with it . Can't wait
To see some academy lads starting next season, plus
A few new faces. Get to the games and get behind the lads
And the new owner

So Cellino thinks that the players are good just by a little chat. Hmmm let me think. I am a fantastic footballer just like the great Billy Bremner so does that mean I am good for Leeds? I doubt that very much, anyone can talk the talk but must perform on the pitch, to which most of these current players have not done. So get rid of the hangers on & get players that can do both.

I think he is just being politically correct. You don't advertise a crap car and then try and sell it! There will be some individuals we want to keep - pretty savvy IMO!

13 May 2014 21:00:50 Hes passionate alright, about READING . Never stops going on about them . Hes like an old pro boxer going on and on about the time he had a good fight but then went on to do feck all else . You cant be passionate if you stand and watch your team lose 6-0 to pretty poor local rivals, but just put your hands in your pockets and shrug.

03 Jun 2014 11:37:59
Might be a long shot, and I know he's in the running via odds, but I would love to see Roberto Di Matteo in as coach/manager. Think he would be really good. Anyone agree?

I wouldn't be surprised if BmC isn't back some day as Ying to Massimo's Yang. Ross' favourite paper the Daily Snail was at it again yesterday, botching twitter and YEP reports to make an exclusive. I wish people would stop talking about our next "manager". we've already got one. I think players know now who the boss is and won't be disappearing without his permission. A little rap over the knuckles and a message not to take anything for granted. Those on high wages have been told to start earning them.

All these rumours that we are after players what's going on how come they keep going to other clubs instead of us! Simple because we have no money u aren't telling me that Webster and Rowe would choose wolves and millwall over a move to leeds not a chance in hell would that happen we haven't got the money to buy players prepare ourselfs for a very poor season yet again with broken promises

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Now there's the optimism I've been looking forward to

Agree0 Disagree0

Calm down, who said we were after these guys any way? If you believe the papers, you also believe in the Easter Bunny and Santa . We haven't even got a manager/ first team Coach yet, so I very much doubt Massimo has tried to buy anyone yet, apart from maybe some of his Italians that he already knows about. I would agree that they would choose Leeds over Wolves and Millwall if they had been offered the chance which they obviously weren't . Maybe we are looking at a higher quality? no one knows but Massimo . MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

The answer is in your question - we are rumoured to be in for these players. We have probably not made any approaches to the players you mention so haven't lost out, haven't been rejected over anyone else and you cany assume we have no money available for players.

I am sure when MC wants to get someone then we will see action - until then remeber it is only rumours and speculation - don't let it get to you.

Agree0 Disagree0

Now you blooming gone and done it Thailand White I knew something was a bit strange about Santa as every corner has one at Xmas but the Easter bunny that's destroyed me now!! Lol

Correct me if I am wrong but, if MC wants to get out of this division in 2 years, he needs to appoint a PROVEN manager and not some two bit addams family wannabe with next to no experience whatsoever!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He doesn't want a manager he wants a coach! And yes I agree proven at a high level is a must.

First post in ages. although have been reading dailly just wish people would stop rising to survivour. one of the main reasons I havnt jad owt to say is because 90% of posts on here are arguing with him. we all know he pretends like my two year old when she wants attention trick is to ignore it. instead of hannging on his words can we have a bit of optimism an hope for next season. COME ON LEEDS!

Morning siblings. Right, its getting silly now (as if it wasnt before!) Terribly sad that guys like Cork are saying they will not visit this site because of one individual. We are better than that and as Leeds have suffered far worse things! We are the Leeds family and everyone on here is brilliant, well, nearly. It matters not where we are from, cut us and we bleed white. I live in sunny Deal (near Dover), its a 5 hour drive at least to Leeds, but I still consider myself as much a Leeds fan as someone who lives a mile from ER and there are many of us down here. Solidarity bruvvers an sisters and don't take Jeff so seriously and always look on the bright side of life de da, de da, de da de da de da

Well said vid. Think I just had a hard day yesterday and my self imposed ban obviously hasn't lasted very long! Solidarity as you and Citizen Smith say is what is needed in these tough times for Leeds and all. Apoligies to Ed13 for suggesting favourtism to you know who and now i'm going to see what Ad Blocker can do about blocking certain posts along with the annoying ads on here! MOT.

{Ed013's Note - No worries}

Alright guys and Phillipa, I will stop retaliating to Jeff and I hope by ignoring him it will stop him posting. The bloke talks rubbish and is very childish but if it's putting good folk off coming on this site then I'll keep my comments to myself. Having said that I can't promise that if I've been drinking and he posts s**t (which are both inevetable) I will be able to refrain!. I will, however, try!

We love all Leeds (no matter where where they are from)!
