people getting all doom and gloom: its the start of November for crying out loud, the seasons a marathon not a sprint, our squad isnt the best no, but supporting it rather than slag off all the negatives would help and keep the fans heads up

Believable6 Unbelievable8

Thank god it's a marathon because none of our players are able to sprint

Or run a marathon so we're screwed haha

It's karma. It has to be. The reason
I started supporting my beloved
football team 42 years ago - when I
was 10 - was that my brother
supported (still does) Chelsea. Here
we are again. For those of us who
doubt the wisdom of a cup run
I do think to be kept on the back
pages for the right reasons is no
bad thing. For those of us who are
unhappy with Neil Warnock I do
think he knows what he is doing and
should be left alone to get on with
it. He has to support his players
publically but can certainly give
them a rollicking privately. Bring on
Burnley on Tuesday. Will watch
how Ian Holloway and Dougie
Freedman get on very carefully.

Believable3 Unbelievable5

I started supporting LUFC 55 years ago when i was 7. I can imagine Warnock knows what he's doing but at the moment I'm finding it a little difficult to believe. His hands must be tied because what I have seen this year his signings have been garbage. I would imagine he wanted at least 5 more quality signings and hasn't been able to get them because of the takeover delays. However even with a lower standard of player we should be able to pass, move and find space for a return pass but we can't seem to do so. We have no midfield at all and to me this is the main problem. Every team we have played has given us the run around in the middle and out passed and out run us. Even Barnsley for crying out loud and they are made up of Chesterfield and Rochdale rejects. There is something very very wrong. JD

Hats Off to Hatfield!
Performance off the day in the FA Cup must go to Will Hatfield. Scores all 4 of Accrington's goals against Fylde. Whilst he didn't get a chance at Leeds, even though he was reserve team captain, I always look out for the youngsters let go. Good luck to him!

Believable22 Unbelievable2

I saw Tom Elliott score a goal the other day. Good on him!

Poleon played for Bury in the FA cup today. Result= he is now cup-tied when he comes back. As one of the few players we have with pace, I cannot see the sense in Warnock allowing to him play. Anyone agree with NW?

Just read a lot of comments etc on the team so far this season. As fellow fans, I will not say anyone is wrong but as a season ticket holder I feel that some commentary on our individual players is unfair. Forget the takeover etc lets have your views on the following players and response to my opinions.

Kenny - great keeper, maybe a bit of a comfort blanket for Warnock though - Maybe money could have been better invested elsewhere?

Pearce - solid, brave, borm leader - maybe reached his level in championship though?

Lees - potential star of the future?

Drury - play him more? seems steady and we have problems defending wide areas from what I have seen at ER so far this season.

Peltier - probably a better option as CB - have been undone too many times so far this season down his side.

White - lacking in confidence, doesn't believe he is a defender. Showed what he can do against tottenham - square peg in a round hole?

Byram - nervous that prem teams may pinch this diamond come january and he will disappear into reserve team football.

Diouff - time, space and 3 seconds ahead in reading the game - sign him permanently now.

Varney - Jury out. Lacks confidence but have a feeling that could do a job up top rather than on the wing. Seems to win more in the air than Bechio.

Norris - grafter but lacks guile.

Austin - Goes after the ball and leaves position topo often but heart of a lion. positioning and tactical awareness only elements missing.

Tonge - likes driving forward. Getting back his match fitness and awareness. Possibly only player on same level as diouff in terms of reading the game and where the ball will be.

Becchio - Fed up of getting battered up front on his own with long diagonal balls from Kenny/Peltier. Against Brum - first time I have seen him look disinterested.

Poleon - We lack pace - get him back after loan spell and give him some game time at this level.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

White - i think hes over-hyped due to his academy routes, he doesnt really possess any real footballing talent if you ask me, half of the time hes slipping over, although doesnt help that he doesnt know what position hes playing, if hes in the midfield it should be out on the left

Varney - needs confidence back after a tough couple of years in his playing career, and everybody slating him wont help, i like him as a player,

Agree6 Disagree0

Yeah I'll summarise for you¦ they're all terrible. Apart from the occasional has-been (Tonge), the kids who we'll lose in January or June to decent teams (Byram, Lees, Poleon) and the terrible human beings who would be playing at a higher level if they weren't such £$%&* (Diouff). Another mid table finish coming¦ this is the worst Leeds team I can remember.

Its obvious what's missing the three players that were the iceing on the cake we need the pace and quality these. would provide as I believe we have a good work ethic. last season we would have got hammed last night yet with warnock we nick a point. however we are shocking to watch and so predictable with no width or movement or pace. Southampton was ok but last six games have been woeful. think qpr played desent stuff under warnock when he was backed so for fooooo sake give him some cash before its too late

Wish all of you would be quiet, Warnock is the best manager In this league no doubt about It. How can he provide when he doesn't have a great team. But then you all complain about Friday night? maybe we didn't play well but it's a hard deserved point, it's a tough place to go Brighton. Get behind the team instead of singing bates out, your voices will not change anything whatsoever. Sing out loud and proud! MOT

How can people still think the takeovers going to happen.
Everyone one of u somewhere in your minds is doubting it.
WTF is actually happening.
They said nothing was left to check.
Wtf are they doing then.
Obviously there's something left. It doesn't take two weeks to sign a piece of paper.
Are they lying to us.
Must be because its not as close as they say or it would have been done by now.
I know 9/10 of u will say I'm not patient or it will defo happen.

How can we tell it will happen if the info they give us is untrustworthy.
They need to say something. NOW
I'm sick of looking at Leeds rumours and seeing reports from the last match we played sh*t in. Or quotes from managers.
It's almost like everyone's forgot its meant to be nearly finished.
What is happening then. No excuses now. Everything's supposedly done.
There's people saying well its a weekend or something to do with Muslim tradition that's delaying it.
Bull sh*t!
It's f***ing rediculas.
Wouldn't mind but nothing is being said at all after a date when they said it will be done.

Don't know about u but I'm for the first time really doubting the takeover and beginning to think if GFH is realy serious about our beloved club.

There playing cat and mouse with our pride and joy
Not fair at all!!!

Ever since the Bolton game we have required a substantial amount of luck to pick up points in a number of games (excluding the cup win). Barnsley missed a host of chances, we needed a screamer to get a point at Hillsborough, were outplayed at home to Charlton and finally didn't deserve anything yesterday (with a deflected goal and a penalty that usually wouldn't be given)!

I welcome us much luck as we can get, but we can't rely on it because (as we know as Leeds fans) it will run out! We need to start earning our own luck with our performances, otherwise we are going to continue to slip down the table.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

03 Nov 2012 17:44:14
Brighton also scored a deflected goal and a penalty last night against us!

Agree4 Disagree0

Every goal in that game was really soft, their 2nd pen was very harsh aswell, how about stop being a doom and gloom merchant and keep the heads up, rather than analyse the negatives all the time

Agree2 Disagree2

First replier, did you watch the game? We didn't deserve anything out of the game. We could of been 3-0 down after 20 minutes and the way our goals went in was just a reflection of our luck, but didn't tell the whole story. God...

04 Nov 2012 18:56:47
Yes I did watch the game and I agree with you. I merely pointed out that all 4 goals were very similar, so I dont get your point?

Agree0 Disagree0

My point was that the way the goals went in were only an example of how lucky we were. Throughout the entire game we rode our luck. I know Brighton's goals could have been considered lucky, but over the whole game they can consider themselves hard done by not to have won.

all doom and gloom after brighton game.
Team needs changing and requires pace and skill.
Talk of new players needed lets look at what we have.
Poleon.Rodgers.Thompson out on loan.
Somma and McCormak to come back.
If we had all these players plus the invisible winger Ryan Hall.We could set up a team to really go after teams at ER.
How about this.
Kenny
Pleltier Lees Pearce White.
Bryam Austin
Rodgers Hall
Doiuf
Becchio/Varney

Bench
Ashdown
Somma
Poleon
McCormack
Green
Norris
Varney or Becchio
Plenty of pace width creativity from Bryham Hall Rodgers
Doesnt look that bad and a bench of game changes Somma McCormack.

Some managers play the pass and move, others like their players to hoof it and foul rather than track back and tackle
I agree warnock does need more money to spend but he also needs to buy the right players and know how to play good football! Can he do either? You don't get out if thus league battling and brawling. Passing, playing and running

Here's a strange suggesting stop moaning and start supporting.

Believable9 Unbelievable9

We pay a lot of money for our season tickets. If we don't like what we're watching then we're entitled to moan as much as we like. How about you grow up a little and learn to respect the fact that people are entitled to a different opinion to you? Just a thought..

Yet another silly post.we are supporting but any person can see we aren't good enough, and even we can see what's needed.you just abuse your own fans and obviously your happy with the dreary championship...shrew leeds

Agree3 Disagree2

When we were winning everyone was loving it. We haven't won in a few games and everyone is moaning. We haven't got a big enough squad. So you knew what you were getting when you bought your season ticket. How have I abused anyone by saying that we should show more support. Like the previous post said people are entitled to their opinions. I'm not happy with the championship but I am realistic with what we can achieve with the squad we have. I'm aware that we need some more players to boost our squad and improve our chances but until the takeover takes place we will have to make do with what we have.

My answer to shrew Leeds is first of all thanks for commenting on my post yesterday but what I am trying to say is that everyone seams to want to jump on the anti Warnock band wagon, is it his fault that the board have not backed him to be able to build the squad he obviously knows we need to get out of this god awful division, a lot of people did the same with Grayson I think he my have done better than he did if he had been backed better, but with Warnock he knows what he needs to get out of this division he's proved it 7 times before, that is fact not fiction and he has the skill and ability to do it again, the last thing he needs is our loyal fans moaning about results they do not like, people on here also say that they are never going back to Elland Road while bates is in charge of the club, well to me that is only starving the team of much needed support, warnock has stated that a large crowd at ER would in effect give us that extra man on the pitch, and help the team to perform to the best of there capabilities, I know from my time in football that if I read some of the comments posted on here as a player I would not want to give 100% every game for some person that has probably never kicked a ball in there life, slagging me off instead of standing by me and my fellow team mates, these guys after all are only human and negative atmosphere coming from my home supporters cannot be good. We know that at this moment Warnock is starved of funds to get this team in the position he really wants it to be in, but unless you have 100 million or so there is nothing we can do about that, but by understanding the situation and getting behind the team, " not the board as it stands" is what we can do. We are renowned for being one of the best supported clubs in the world lets start proving it, being negative all the while is not going to make us any better than we are, the only thing that is going to do that is, as you so rightly state, is money, but we can help in other ways by showing the positive support to the players and management staff that we have at the club now and hope that things progress forward in a positive manor and we do get the new owners that we all crave so much, then we can judge the manager on his results, if Warnock was to go now who would be able to come in and do a better job in the same circumstances?. I know I would feel and play better having 25000 + cheering me on and encouraging me than 15000 moaning and groaning that Bates is taking all there money off them, if you support the club then support it time will take care of Bates, we should take care of Leeds United.

We have been rubbish for the last 5 or so games, the players need a kick up the A**E. we played as poorly as that last

Believable11 Unbelievable3

Must agree. Even if playing poorly and still getting a point away is good enough for me. Time for people to get off warnocks back. We have limited resources and that is how it's been for years. So why get on a very good managers back. I know, we all want what's best. But at this moment times are hard for every football club not just Leeds. Let's hope we come good soon. I remember our cup game against Man utd, it did us no favours in the league plus the fact every team raises their game against cos we are Leeds. That as never changed since I was a boy many moons ago. Suggestion, pull together.

I think everyone needs to open their eyes. Warnock is a great manager but with limited funds to create a WHOLE new squad what did people think was going to happen? He said for day one out squad is not good enough and he thinks that if we are just 6 points or so away from playoffs come January we can turn it around.

Give the guy a break, we have way too high expectations given our situation.

Come January If nothing's changed it's going to be a long old season and warnock knows that too.

Just remember warnock isn't a miracle worker and as long as we currently arnt losing week in week out I'm happy at least til January.

Believable16 Unbelievable4

Brighton spent more on mckail smith than we did on are whole squad like the original poster says what more do you expect us to do without proper investment im afraid these results are going to continue dont blame warnock for whats happening with are club support him and the players its the clown that owns the club who is the problem need him out asap leedsmad

i think we need to be bringing rogers back if the takeover doesnt happen .we are playing a cm on the left at the moment when he could be playing along side Austin and opening defences .i think tonge as played well when he gets the chance to come central . if mccormack and somma return in January we should be fine for strikers and need to strengthen defence and get a little flair and pace . the main thing at this moment in time is to get a proper winger on and move tonge to the centre which should strengthen the team defensive wise.maybe play hall .i think we will be in top 6 at end of season

Believable7 Unbelievable0

At the minute we can't try to play good football we'd be ripped apart by accrington Stanley . Austin is good in a scrap but can he pass it . we have to turn every game into a niggly scrap or we've no chance .

Money + warnock= promotion

Warnock + bates = angry fans blaming warnock

No other manager in the world could get us out of this league with a 2 million pound budget to buy practically a new team.

Look at Leicester and Cardiff. They have spent good money on good players. That's what we need.

Not on the cheap, has-beens.( no disrespect to some of the players but the players we can only afford are old and past there time for a promotion challenge. The likes of becchio and rodolph austin, McCormack, kenny, diouf and probably Pearce and Byram are the only players I believe good enough to be the foundations of a promotion challenging team. Plus then in the prem we would struggle if we had some of them in the starting 11

Take into mind there's a bench of good game changing players to fill as well.

Warnock isn't the problem and the fans that say he is are just angry our team isn't good enough and the most obvious thing to do is blame the manager.

Blame the bearded man that gives a manager a target of promotion then drops the bomb... Do it with 2 mill!...

Bates again has built us up to let us down. Of course he doesn't mind. He has got us to think this season is a push for promotion.

With the players we were getting on frees and cheap did you seriously think we'd be a promotion challenge. I must admit at first I thought it was possible. However I have now come to learn that getting players like green and hall and players on frees isn't the way up.

Seriously did we make one signing pre season that made everyone stand back and go " wow leeds are realy going for it this season"? NO! We raided Portsmouth and free agents. Of course we made a good signing in austin and that's the reason why if u give warnock money he will get you up.

Think about it:
we spent 2 mil on a team.
Forrest spent 2 mil on a striker.

We should have stable wages that are hard to compete with. Players jumping at the chance to join warnocks army. Enough money to bid for big championship players. Real names known by every other championship club.( not saying messi or Ronaldo) And signings that make people stand back and look at leeds as a massive promotion threat.

No disrespect to the players that try their socks off but form is tempory, class is permentant. Shown at the start of this season.

Warnock will get us up, maybe not this season or under bates but neither will anyone else under bates. Like i said and many may agree...

Money + warnock = promotion

I know lets swap managers again. I think Warnock needs this takeover, we are hanging on by our fingernails.

I wouldn't know which manager to pick to replace Warnock, I think even the youngest manager might of retired by the time the take-over comes.

Perhaps as Arabs are Rich, maybe the new owner is
a Bahraini child who is paying from his piggy bank.

It must take a while to count out 52 million pounds in twenty pences.

I know it was a poor performance tonight but Brighton were fresh, no Capital Cup game in midweek for them. Our players looked knackered and were second best all night. I can't believe some fans have turned against NW. It's not his fault the T/O is taking so long. He couldn't get the flair players he wanted in the transfer window so we are left with a team that has to grind out results.

We haven't got a recognised goalscorer worth the name so let's hope by January we can hang on to the coat-tails of the top six and let NW buy the flair we need. Judge him at the end of the season and not now. I think he's been asked to do mission impossible with no funds so get behind him and the team they're doing their best with a limited squad.

Maybe as well as committing the most fouls in the league we must also have the most blind people supporters..shrew Leeds

Everyone is being so negative, in my opinion you are going to get performances like this purely because of the size of our squad, Austin is bound to be knackered he has travelled half way round the world recently so it is bound to catch up with him but if you do not have the replacement players to bring in then you have no choice but to play him, he looks shattered, Tonge is playing with a shoulder injury and Peltier is not fully fit, Aiden White I am sorry but he looks out of his depth at this level did absolutely nothing tonight, Norris and Green should have started in my opinion Brown even though he is trying hard just has not got the stamina any more hence he kicks players instead of taking the ball away from them, Becchio should have been in tonight from the start he had an impact when he came on, Ryan Hall should be due a descent run out soon, he may add some pace going forward, but you can moan all you like, it will not get any better until Warnock gets the extra players he needs to make a difference to this squad, it's obvious he knows what is needed he has said it enough times, he is not under any illusions that the squad he has put together is the finished article but until those funds are released he can only keep us there and there a bouts, the time to judge him is when he has been supported either by the current board or the potential new owners, if he has still failed after that then yes change the manager by all means, but whoever comes in, if they don't get the support from the owners they won't do any better, if any of you have played at any descent level of football and have any real knowledge of the game you would not make such immature comments, instead you would see that he is doing everything in his power to try to keep us in the race, even if it's not pretty get behind the squad as it is and hope for better things in the near future.
