Burnley fans having to pay £36 adults £29 seniors £25 juniors is daylight robbery at least Dick Turpin wore a mask ,Were in the championship and Burnley hardly merit a cat a game. For any football club to charge £25 for kids is an absolute disgrace.

Don't come then

Agree5 Disagree5

Would love to know where the cash goes with the attendances we get, more then half of the prem clubs and the low wages we pay, must be funding the hotel

Agree3 Disagree1

I have to agree to the original post. Ive supported Leeds for nearly 30 years and have a season ticket in the Kop and I think the prices for the away fans are a disgrace and are making the atmosphere crap. For an away team to bring their full allocation, which would bring more revenue, then the prices should be less. Especially as they are now seated in the cardboard cutout stand where you are lucky if you get fans stand and clap never mind sing! Cheaper tickets all the way.

MOT

Agree3 Disagree0

"don't come then" don't worry at that price they won't be. The point is it's over priced and I wouldn't be happy to pay those prices to take my boy to see Leeds play away.

Agree2 Disagree2

Bit of a chicken & egg though. LUFC is a very expensive club to run compared to Burnley. Big ground, expensive training facilities, expensive youth development set up. If prices are cut and people still don't come, like at our neighbours Bradford City, then we could find ourselves back in real trouble very quickly.

Glad it's not my decision to make quite honestly.

Agree3 Disagree0

I have never yet figured out why away fans were put into the West Stand. The atmosphere is appalling now and who can blame an away fan for not travelling up at those prices. Millwall fans would be paying well in excess of £30, as would every other away club.Be Realistic and put the away fans back where they were.

Agree2 Disagree1

Put the away fans there, less will come they will pay more, less noise from them. Give the 2000 seats in the south east corner to Leeds fans = more cheaper tickets for Leeds fans compared to the west stand prices they were paying.

Arsenal v Leeds in FA Cup again!! We keep getting the plum, lucrative draws in the cups. Just hope it doesn't detract from the priority for the season though-the League. Great game for the fans though. Fat Ken will be hoping we get a draw to bring them back to ER.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Already worrying about this one. Come on Simon, play the youth team, let's focus on climbing the league.

Agree2 Disagree4

Oh great, start season well and get another hard draw in FA cup then the lads Blow out of their backsides like Blackpool donkeys the second half of the season coz they lose form after the cup as it's showed in pass 2 seasons, I hope we get knocked out first game, I know it's not nice saying but we need to stay focused on the league and we don't have good squad depth to help matters

Agree4 Disagree0

Why always the giants in the FA cup?

Agree0 Disagree3

Why not? These are the clubs we want to be playing every week, in the premier league!

Agree4 Disagree0

No we don't, give us a Sunderland or a Wigan every once in a while!

Agree0 Disagree4

Yeah but at the minute we are in the championship and dont have the squad to compete with the big boys.

Agree1 Disagree2

I think its great to have a glamour tie, make some cash, and get out of the cup and concentrate on the league.

Agree3 Disagree0

Arsenal are A Sunderland at the moment! haha!

Agree2 Disagree1

Play the reserve side that beat Chelski 2-1 recently. Ar5e will put out the kids, why don't we?

Agree1 Disagree1

Idve preferred blackburn, more importantly why do we keep getting away draws in the FA Cup, thing that made me laugh was that man utd actually got a hard draw

Anybody remember that Ipswich fan who kept popping up on here with something to say about being a big club, going for promotion etc, having loads of cash etc. Seems to have gone a bit quiet now......7 defeats in a row for them. Shambles. Leeds up to fifth without 'loads of money'!

Believable10 Unbelievable0

Yeah I remember that guy- bit like a boxer gobbing off before a fight then retiring with his tail between his legs.
Wow 7 in a row with all that 'talent' and being a 'big' club!
Bet he don't pop up here again!

Agree6 Disagree0

Interesting to note also for all the whiners who said we should have broken the bank to get bowyer! Amazing contribution he's made! Not.

Bates is running a tight ship with a good young manager. Grayson doesn't always get it right but I'd far rather have him than 90% of the other overpaid egos out there!

Agree10 Disagree0

Bit like Audley Harrison

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Agreed. It's like saying if we get rid of SG how about Mourinho, Guardiola or Hiddink?

Agree0 Disagree3

None of them 3 are good enough for this football club ;)

Good to see O'Neill's got a job at last. Might shut a few of the delusional ones on here up who seemed to think he would want actually to come to Leeds in the club's current state. Much as I admire O'Neill, it was never going to happen.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Yeah brilliant manager but what can he do with the likes of brown and bendtner in his team

Agree0 Disagree2

They'll do well with American cash behind them. half expect him to come knocking for Snodgrass on Jan 1.

Agree0 Disagree2

Snoddy wouldnt want to play in the same team as Wes Brown, he had enough of pulling his pants down when we went to Old Trafford

I have a really bad memory sorry. Did howson ever sign that new contract? And what is everyones opinion of howson now?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Just hope Grayson realises which half was the best, and which half Howson didn't feature in? Ie, the second half!

Agree2 Disagree3

Hasn't signed it yet. Most people on here are fans and don't seem to understand that Howson is a professional footballer more than he's a Leeds United fan. Professional football is a short career, sometimes very short, and it's important that he makes the right decision for him and his family. Why would he rush such a decision? People should grow up a bit and learn to respect that. He's honoured his current contract without asking for a move when the big boys game sniffing, which is more than can be said for Gradel, and we should at least be grateful for that.

Agree0 Disagree6

What a load of rubbish... how many times have I heard this over the last 20 yrs. As a tradesman I can sometimes earn 50k a year and that is a great wage, some people earn far less. Footballers on 5k + per week need to grow up. Thats 250k a year, 5 yr career = 1.25 million. Normal person at least 25 yrs hard graft. Bout time they got real, and the guy posting above. I paid 500 quid to play one game at elland rd. They get paid thousands every week!!!! provide for my family carp.. I think a couple of million would provide for my family for many generations

Agree3 Disagree3

If someone came to you offering 100k a year, you would stick with your current trade?

Agree1 Disagree1

Not rubbish at all. The problem with earning a lot of money is that you get used to it. I can't imagine how I used to live on what I earned as a (fairly high up the ladder) teacher before I quit and started my business. And a couple of million isn't actually that much money by the time you've bought and furnished a nice house, bought a decent car for yourself and the wife and so on. Soon goes.

You're also failing to calculate agents' fees, higher rate income tax at 50% and so on.

And the last poster is right, would you swap your 50k for 100k? Of course you would. Every professional wants to better themselves and football is no exception. Footballers are doing a job. Why do so many fans seem to lack the ability to see that?

One of the least well thought through posts I've ever read on here, and that's saying something.

Agree1 Disagree2

To be fair to the second poster he has a point it's all about reality. Even on £2000 a week thats £104k plus sponsorship, plus bonusus etc. For a 15 year career thats 1.5 million earned minimum, then onto coaching, tv, radio whatever. The days of a footballer having a short career and being skint are over. In terms of a couple of mil not lasting a longtime, again thats down to the person. Decnt house in a nice area you can get for under 200k if you want to. And just because you're a footballer doesn't mean you need to spend 70k+ on a supercar. I do agree that yes if someone was offered a stupid amount of cash for doing the same job then it is something to think about. However to say that on a few grand a week you need to think worry about how you are gonna provide for your family is ridiculous and insulting to people who are earning a small percentage of that and struggling to keep food on the table. It's all about greed basically, personally speaking if I was a top footballer and Man City offered me £150k per week, and Arsenal £75 without doubt I would choose Arsenal because of how they are run and the way they play football and etc. To choose to play for a club based on money and not footballing reasons no matter how you look at it is simply greed.

Agree0 Disagree1

Problem being that coaching, media etc isn't guaranteed. Nor is a full career. I ran boys teams years ago and one of them went on to play around 20 premiership games for Leeds under Wilko/Graham. He was out of the game at 26 ish, despite 3 England Under 21 caps, and is now a personal trainer in the village he grew up in. True, no one needs a 70k car but a nice house for 200k? People in the public eye like footballers need a bit more privacy than you'd get for 200k.

Agree1 Disagree0

Trev here, second poster!
Of course I would jump ship for 100k a yr,but your all missing the point. Big mortgage os not a must, a nice car for under 20k easy, get real if you can`t live your life out with ONLY 2 million you need a brain opp. I`d play for leeds for 50 k a yr any time. They should try working in the mines for a few weeks.Trouble is they are all too young to realize how to spend their money wisely . Its very sad

Agree2 Disagree0

Trev again, one more thing . They are doing a job they love and are treated like gods cause they can kick a ball( paynter excluded) 100k a yr cap would keep them clothed ,housed and fed quite happily. if you think otherwise then your the ones putting the ticket prices up

Agree2 Disagree0

Trev, I completely agree with you. See a newer post about Aidy White. Someone reckons £4k per week isn't good money! I work night-shifts, Bank Holidays etc for a fraction of that. You're dead right!

Agree2 Disagree0

I didn't say 4k per week isn't good money. I said it wasn't good money for a professional footballer. BIG difference.

What you earn, or what any of us on here earn for that matter, has no bearing on this discussion. Different jobs pay different rates. Footballers earn a lot of money compared to other people. So too, to varying degrees, do lawyers, architects, directors of successful companies, doctors, bankers and so on. It might not seem fair but that's just how it works. Get over it, or at least go join the Communist Party if you think it's immoral and try to do something about it.

You might think you'd love to play for Leeds for a fraction of 4k a week but if you saw your team mates going off to other clubs earning 2-3 times as much you'd soon change your minds.

The other issue is one of talent. You're not playing for Leeds either because you're not talented enough or because you didn't make the necessary sacrifices when you were younger if you were good enough. I'll guess the former. So what you'd agree to play for doesn't matter. If the Leeds team was made up of low paid enthusiasts rather than well paid professionals then I don't think premiership football would be happening any decade soon.

Agree0 Disagree3

Wake up and smell the coffee mate. Do you know how many clubs are heading for major financial difficulties due to paying stupid wages? Believe me, it's a lot.

Whatever you say, in the very near future, footballers will definitely consider £4000 per week as good money.

The Tribute Video to Gary Speed absolutely mesmerising, im only 20 so a lot of the clips were new to me and it put things into perspective of what a brilliant servant he was for this football club and i wish i couldve been old enough to see him play for the club in person, credit to the Millwall fans for joining in the applause and showing real football fans in the right light, brilliant match to see and one of the best atmospheres ive ever been to, the banner that went round was a great moment, lets win promotion back to were we belong, For Gary. R.I.P Speedo.

That era of players as a whole was a brilliant sight indeed and i had the honour of seeing it and being a season ticket holder at that time. Happy memory's. Thanks.
