Corky your stats are correct but other side of coin is we have I believe best away support in the league the reasons we dnt have higher stats at home is numerous but main ones are easy 1. Costs of tickets
2. The internal night mare we have had for last few years in ownership and lack of stability and we are a big club without any doubt with worldwide exposure .

Cellinos comments on the whole recent events have made me extremely optimistic for what will come of the "appeal". To me it sounds like he's ready to rip the FL a new one. Not just appeal but Sue and then some. Makes me wonder how wrong they may have got this whole scenario, legal wise. Cellino may be use to these kinda law suits with his blotted history and that. Don't think they are prepare for cellinos legal and business wit. What you guys think? Ed?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed003's Note - The FL have lawyers, which it may be added are the ones who recommended the choice of the panel - It wasn't just a panel who sat down and said "Yeah let's ban him" - I know that's not going to be popular but it's how it's is - Like I said the other day this is new for everyone and I wouldn't be surprised if their was a backdown at some point but that's just my opinion.}

We are a big club, more so through tradition than currently. I just wonder what everyone thinks of other teams though, who get a higher average attendance than us? When I was a kid Brighton were a small club, but most weeks now they get 28,000 plus! Correct me if i'm wrong, but I don't think we are even in the top 3 of average championship attendances? Derby County beat us most weeks and Forest and Wednesday are thereabouts. I live in Ireland so I only go to, on average, 3 home games and, maybe 3 London matches a season.
Leeds is a big City so where is everyone? Are they all chasing the egg shaped ball or varnishing the willow?
Jesus even them carrot crunchers beat us most weeks in attendances!
My point is. i'm not too sure, but let's stop thinking we are a massive club when most locals don't turn up and small clubs beat our attenadance.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed003's Note - get your tin hat ready Cork.}

Sad but true

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't really know if this is right or not but I think the attendances took a nose dive when Bates took over. Maybe some fans need to see that Cellino means what he says before they have the trust to come back.
I have total faith in him and I believe we will be back in the prem very soon. (as long as he is left to get on with it)
Also we have had to endure so many false dawns since relegation from the prem that some fans maybe just felt disillusioned and felt that their loyalty as fans was being taken for granted.
IMO the current squad is the best we have had in years and are playing great football. (this is the thing that will bring the crowds back)MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes Danum, I'm sure if the lads keep playing the way they are, and we also get some good results then we will hit the 30,000 again soon

I think we are getting to many pettions going at same time I've sighed cellino one but it loses its power of the people if u have others with diffrent topic going on just a thought?
Why don't we get proper written pettion done and hand it in to no 10! That would bring this to the masses mot

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The petition to remove Shaun Harvey can be sent to other league club supporters as they may just agree this guy is corrupt and could start on their club next, whereas they probably don't care what happens to Leeds and Cellino.

Excuse me for keeping banging on about the petition, but it's over 15,000 signatures now, so please let's keep going and see if we can hit 20,000 by the end of the weekend. Please also read the Peter Larimer article. Pretty unbiased account imo

Hi lads I just would like to know if this cash injection of 20M into the club is for the buy back of elland Road the running of the club or some transfer funds for janurary.

It could be that it is for ER and a new training ground closer to ER. That would be my guess anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wages and running costs mainly. Boring but necessary.

Agree0 Disagree0

People have already posted on here that we will have a transfer embargo in January based on last years accounts. £20m injected now won't make a difference to that. My guess its for ER. Cellino just been to Bahrain probably to sort out a deal with GFH so they don't get 25% of ground.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed003's Note - I'm making a guess from Cellino's rant the other week about why should he pay 100% to buy back the ground when another shareholder who incidentally has 25% of the business doesn't help out and now the 25% shareholder is investing 25% of £20m (as you know I'm covering for Ed 013 who you'll be pleased to know is back tomorrow full time so don't lay into me if I got that wrong :) .}

04 Dec 2014 18:32:57
On OS now LUFC get 20million injection. gg MC can we have ER back now please or is it all for players in Jan window?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sorry no the money is being spent to sign me. but you all have your pacey winger and goalscorer happy days

Agree0 Disagree0

BW, before you start playing you have to got on th 3 week Hock fitness course - all our current players did it!

Agree0 Disagree0

I saw bw over the park playing one day. He was on his own. He was very good at it. Very quick!

Agree0 Disagree0

You see aus scouted me and he is down under that is how good I am. And joke is on you speedy I have been on the hock intensive get fit quick 3 week progamme for the last five months so fit as a butchers dog. working closely with hocks salt and pepper pots I also feel I know everything there is to know about the game

Agree0 Disagree0

Wise words BW. I can't disagree with any of it. Mind you, when I've sobered up tomorrow, who knows!

Hi all lufc lads & lasses. I'm travelling to leeds next week and want to get my nephew a lufc boot bag. Is there a sports shop in the centre that sells these? I know that they sell them at the Elland road superstore but don't have a car and the centre would be more convenient.
Cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

There's a lufc shop in trinity now. As it should be. i'm sick of seeing masses of man city, chelsea, liverpool, memrobelia in leeds sportshops and very little of our own.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank you I will try the trinity. As you said we need more lufc shops as living in Liverpool there are a few Everton & Liverpool shops. In fact wot I find funny is that the shopping centre is called Liverpool one & the address of Everton shop in there is Everton 2, Liverpool one. Called Everton 2 as it's the second shop they have in the city. Scouse humour eh?

{Ed003's Note - Still makes me chuckle every time I walk past when we visit.}

Hi Ed's,

Are you able to allow the following question?

Peter Lorimer recently wrote an article on YEP, saying:

"For many years now I’ve refused to buy certain newspapers because in my opinion, they push an anti-Leeds agenda. They seem to take great joy for having a go at us. I’m not naming names but I think they know who they are."

My question is "in the personal opinion of other supporters on this site, which papers have an anti-Leeds agenda"?

Firstly, I didn't "find" football until I was in my early 20's, and as my family are originally from Leeds, I quite rightly decided to choose Leeds United as my club of choice. I'm now 40 by the way. So my knowledge of my beloved club is not a patch on some of the other posters on this site. It's also not a patch on most other Leeds fans. So to be honest, perhaps I'm not the best Leeds supporter in the world, but nonetheless, I'm a supporter.

Secondly, I don't buy newspapers, mainly because (in my opinion) they are ALL liars, and they all have their own political agenda.

The mail often puts out a negative view of lufc and tbh you can include all the red tops

Agree0 Disagree0

Most papers realise that if they publish an 'anti Leeds' article they will get a reaction and it's the only reason for doing so.

We need to ignore these persons and head to where the problem is, with the Footaball League!

Agree0 Disagree0

Patrick Collins of the Mail on Sunday absolutely hates Leeds United. Never ever misses a chance to kick us while down.

Henry Winter of the Daily Telegraph is very fair to us, good man.

very interesting article on mailonline via BBC sport (football) website. It details a potted history of our ups and downs since 'living the dream'. - it shows the strength in depth that LUFC and our support have. Any other club would have buckled and folded.

It is worth a read!

MOT and on and on.

Dec 3, 2014 - We now have 10,000 signatures demanding that the Football League act in the best interests of Leeds United and not any other possible motives they may have.

With 10,000 signatures this petition now has the potential to interest the national press and journalists. We will be contacting them ourselves but urge as many of you as possible to contact them via Twitter, Facebook, email, post, telephone, in person or how ever you see fit to tell them about this petition.

You can ask them:

"Are you aware of a petition with over 10,000 signatures demanding that the Football League act in the best interests of Leeds United when it comes to deciding the club's future?"

You can share this link with them: https://www.change.org/p/the-football-league-to-act-in-the-best-interests-of-leeds-united-football-club-regarding-massimo-cellino/

The crux of this matter right now is twofold:

1. With the football league perfectly aware that (even if he is guilty) on March 18th the conviction is spent. How can it possibly be of benefit to Leeds United Football Club to ban Cellino from doing his job of running the club for the next 95 days? They are just putting their weight about to prove a point. One of the mains goal of the Football League to protect its member clubs. How is this temporary ban achieving that?

2. The main aim of the Fit & Proper test is to use guidelines to try and determine if a potential buyer is fit and proper to run the football club. The rules are set out to be used PRIOR to that person taking over the club, to protect the club. But, if the aim is to see if that person is fit or proper to run Leeds United, why not disregard the non-Leeds United related past and try to determine if he is fit and proper to run Leeds United by seeing how he actually runs Leeds United. They are fortunate now to have the advantage of being able to assess if someone is worthy of doing a job by actually looking at how that person does that job. They don't need to look at previous dealings any more - because he's been doing the very job they are attempting to assess if he is capable of doing. It's equivalent of asking a kid to sit an entrance exam to a secondary school after he's already finished his a-levels at that very school. Some common sense is needed in this situation which, everyone is very quick to admit, is unprecedented.

I urge you to share this petition with as many people as you can and also PLEASE contact the press. Here are some online contact details and if you can spare a few minutes it would really help our cause. We're all in this together and all hoping for the same outcome - The Football League to see some sense in this situation.

Let's hope we can, between 10,000 of us, get some traction from a few contacts on this list and elsewhere.

Many thanks

The above is a copy of the email sent to people who have signed the petition. It also contained lots of links for contacting the media, which understandably have been edited out. But thanks to the Eds for allowing the rest to be posted. There are now 13500 signatures and it has been on Radio Leeds. We all need to help to keep this momentum going. If we all get a few friends to sign, and contact at least one media person then it could make a big difference

{Ed001's Note - I didn't edit those out mate, it would be the swear filter because we get a lot of sites trying to get themselves free advertising by posting up links.}
