Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

04 Jan 2012 22:47:34
Wish people would stop posting;
1. Any random player in world football that is "out of contract" or "unhappy" at their club...it doesn't mean we are going to sign them.
2. Players that they like or are good. Just because Jordan Rhodes is performing well, doesn't mean he is coming to Leeds.
Hardly any of these are genuine rumours, just Football Manager wishlists.

Believable3 Unbelievable6

I wish you would pipe down, this is a rumours site

Agree8 Disagree1

To be fair it should actually be a rumours site and not a non-realistic championship under 12's dream team, i dont think one person has ever got it right on this site

Agree1 Disagree3

Yes pipe down pal us Leeds fans would make great scouts for Grayson - just look at some of the players us fans have been linked with...!
if only Carlsberg did football supporters

Agree6 Disagree0

I called Lonergan signing as soon as Pre Season started. yeh, that's it for me gloating.

Agree2 Disagree0

And if I remember correctly, this site mentioned (a few times) that Leeds were interested in Andros Townsend, Maik Taylor,Forsell etc. So I say, crack on! It's a great site :-)

Agree5 Disagree0

I also remember people posting about Danny Pugh way before he resigned for Leeds - keep up the good work boys i love the rumours

Agree2 Disagree0

It's just a bit of harmless fun!

Agree1 Disagree0

Come on everyone copies skysports rumours then post them on here, its probably bout 99% of rumours are about some mothers sisters cousin who had a baby and her dog and hamster called townsend and i know who it is, so must be true.

Agree0 Disagree1

Clubs also make numerous initial approaches about players that might interest them just to test the water. Very few progress to anything but they probably all end up on these rumour sites.

Agents also feed a bit of bs into the system, probably even into this site, to try generate interest in their clients with a view to generating more interest in their bank account...

Agree0 Disagree0

Only people that get it wrong are the anti-grayson crew :)

So does everyone agree that the following players should leave leeds if not for money then released or loaned rachukba obrien bromby paynter brown connolly kisnorbo parker varyrynen forssell sam

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Sam's a decent player. Brown looked OK behind Howson & Clayton for a couple of games so he's worth keeping as a squad player. Connolly is OK - can't understand why so many on here seem to hate him. Squad material but not dreadful. Parker could be good - think we need to see how he does when he's back from injury - and no one will want him until he's playing again anyway. Wouldn't upset me to lose any of them though.

Agree1 Disagree0

Disagree with lloyd sam and mika vayrynen but yeah i agrew in offloading the rest

Believable2 Unbelievable8

Can't see them queueing for Becchio at 5 million. 500k at best.

Agree4 Disagree2

5 million for becchio??
lol... haha...
how much for connoly, bromby, brown and o'brian?? we could save up for messi and ronaldo...

Agree2 Disagree1

Lol Messi & Ronaldo - loveit, why don't we try and tempt Tevez also, he's looking for a new club.

United are back - MOT

Agree1 Disagree0

Ha! Knowing our luck, we'd get fat Ronaldo! He was linked with us once before - when we originally loaned Keane!

Agree1 Disagree0

When we loaned Keane fat Ronaldo was considered the best in the world. were we really 'linked'?

Agree0 Disagree0

He'd still do a job in this league.

My m8 is an ipswich fan lives a mile from the ground,2 bits of transfer news.Alan smith has been to look around ipswich today ahead of a loan deal, and he is not on bench for Newcastle tonight, his loan deal will free up jimmy bullard who is on his way to leeds.

Believable0 Unbelievable9

AS aws not in Ipswich Fact, and he does want to come back to leeds.

Agree0 Disagree4

Last person we want is Bullard seen him too many times in what I would call 'off his head'.

Sean St Ledger transfer listed and Gelson Fernandes loan terminated by Leicester, worth a punt?

Believable3 Unbelievable1

No both utter pish

Agree3 Disagree1

Definitely in my opinion, 2 good players who look to have been caught up with Sven buying to many players

Agree2 Disagree0

First reply, dont think St Ledgers any worse than Paddy, Bruce and O'Dear

Agree2 Disagree0

St Ledger is a n*b too. I know him personally. He's defo no better than anything we have, and his wages are above 25k a week, that's why he left Preston

Agree2 Disagree1

No im pretty sure he left preston because hes a decent championship player and Preston were relagated

Agree0 Disagree1

Mmm, no he left Preston because they couldn't afford to pay his wages whilst they were in League One. Straight from the horses mouth

Sylvan Ebanks Blake available from Wolves

Wolves chasing Maynard and will use Keogh plus 3mill to tie up the deal - this leaves Blake as 3rd 4th choice and would relish a chance with the mighty Leeds

Believable5 Unbelievable1

I would like to see leeds go for simon cox if they want a striker, but ebanks-blake is a good shout.

Agree3 Disagree0

Fantastic at championship level, think he finished amongst top scorers when they were in this league. Would be great signing, but would he come to us, i would like to hope so.

Agree3 Disagree0

Is that you Mick?

Agree7 Disagree1

Blake would be a good shout, was awesome for wolves in the championship when they got promoted. He's got 2 majors assets we lack up front - natural finisher and pace

Agree3 Disagree0

just wish we could have kept bradley johnson and kilkenny gradle and beckford me for one slaged kilkenny and johnson but there must be better than the ones we are left with

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Everything looks better in hindsight. Kilkenny and johnson were average to decent midfielders and still are. Johnson is doing well in the prem and fair play to him he is a hard working footballer and deserves the break he has got. But neither of them were amazing and nothing will change that.

Agree1 Disagree0

Everytime i saw Killkeny he was average and just complained all the time. I liked Johnson and was sad to see him go. Losing him weakened us in my opinion but NO player is bigger than the club.

Agree2 Disagree0

Kilkenny's got a pretty good football brain - plays the sensible simple, usually right, pass instead of trying to be flash. Needs a solid player like Johnson to be effective. I think we've missed them this season since they gave us options in midfield and we've looked very thin there at times this season.

Agree1 Disagree0

I think the above is spot on- Since Kilkenny left we do not have a player who can think about a pass and play the right ball, not try and play fancy football and invariably end up in trouble. We need a player like him back in the team

Agree0 Disagree0

Bradley was never great scored a couple of good goals but was too slow and his passing was average at best. Unfortunatly for us he is still better than any player of that style than we have at the moment.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bradley Johnson has been missed in my opinion but Adam Clayton is a miles better player than Kilkenny the square ball nerchant

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont have a clue who we will sign, honestly think we've got a good chance this year! Will youth or experience get us out of this league?! MOT

Believable2 Unbelievable3

04 Jan 2012 16:41:04
If you listened to Larry after the Burnley game he said very clearly that there are 'different ways to spend money'. he then said that available money could /would be used to pay high wages of premiership loanees. So no buys, loans again. But don't say loanees don't care about the club after seeing townsend work his socks off. Loanees want the chance to play well because gives them a shop window to potential long term buyers and long term contracts.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Andros Townsend recently signed a 4.5 year contract with Spurts, so that disproves that theory. Personal integrity might occasionally have something to do with it!

Agree1 Disagree0

Thinking positive, if we can get promotion and some genuinely good loans, that may be a better way for us to do business rather than buy average players who won't cut it in the premiership and we have tied up with 2-3 year deals and then struggle to get rid of. Bit of a lottery with loans but if we can get more players of Townsends quality we could have a chance, Lichaj was great for us last year and the gk from readings was too so it's got to be sensible. Realistically who would we rather sign - someone like Andros or Shelvey (rumoured to be available for loan now Gerrarf is back for Liverpool) or an average player from our rivals - if they aren't good enough for our rivals why are they good enough for us is my thinking. I appreciate, the loan market is risky though

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2012 15:36:00
to all the Grayson-haters: is anytime we pick up 1-3 points going to be lucky, seeing as you have nothing better to do than nit-pick at any wrong doing just so these wet dreams you have about possible Hughes, Curbishley and other managers that would NEVER work with Uncle Ken due to his 50p Transfer budget might have a glimmer of happening? why dont you try getting behind the manager of OUR football club instead of slagging him off, were still in this play-off picture, you make out asif were sat in the bottom 3

Believable10 Unbelievable14

Absolutely 100% correct!

Agree5 Disagree9

I am sorry to disagree however you are wrong. Take out the KB budget factor as this is only known by those in the higher echelons at ER.
For 3 seasons SG has 'managed' a defence that has conceded goals at an alarming rate.
Were it not for Beckford, Becchio then Gradels goals we would have been in trouble.
SG has not been able to put a defence together for 3 years despite buying / loaning enough defenders for 4 teams to field. Then how many goalkeepers have we used in this time? At my rough guess it is 8.
This is why he needs to move and we get someone in who will build from the back. this is the first step in any successful managers plans.
SG is unable / unwilling to do this and for this reason alone, his time is up.

Agree9 Disagree4

If Grayson had spent a couple of million on a crap defence then I'd agree but he hasn't. You're being utterly unrealistic in your expectations of what can be achieved on the free/loan market.

I don't believe we have a single defender signed by Grayson for actual money. His choice has basically been limited to rejects, especially as younger defenders with potential tend not to be physically developed, so you don't find a loanee defender ready for Championship football as easily as a midfielder like Townsend.

Agree2 Disagree5

And to say we have relied on a few players for goals and without this we would be in trouble! Is this not the same for any club.. Eg RVP arsenal, Ageuro city, yakubu BB, morrision etc

And to say SG is unwilling... So he is just at er for the wage! He is Leeds 100% and would love nothing more than getting us promoted.

Agree3 Disagree3

Compare the Leeds back four with the likes of Barnsley, Palace, Burnley all put together with very little or nothing and still look more assured than ours - am sorry but 3 years to get a settled defence isn't worthy of Premier League football and still after several transfer windows no sign of a fresh defender which in turn is what everyone is calling for on here - - - to sum it up even Eddy Gray says our back four is Sunday League standard - - apologies to all the Sunday League footballers...!

Agree4 Disagree1

Which of those teams are above us in the league? Oh that's right - none of them. They're ALL BELOW US you utter moron.

Agree2 Disagree2

04 Jan 2012 13:32:56
Targets we should get
Another GK - preferably McCarthy but we need someone to replace Rachubka
Another RB - preferably Lichaj as he did well for us last time
Another LB - However I think play Pugh in this position and White in LM
Another CB - make up your minds on who BUT we need to strengthen the defence
Possibly get Keogh permanently

Believable3 Unbelievable6

Maik Taylor is our reserve keeper with Cairns as backup.

Agree5 Disagree0

Get Keogh!!!!
Are you mad?
2 goals in 24 games is simply nowhere near good enough.

Agree8 Disagree0

Kilgallon is perfect.. Not Playing @ Scroke loan till the end of season.

Agree2 Disagree2

Killa part of first team again at Sunderland so will be lucky to get him in

Agree5 Disagree0

Killagan plays for Sunderland not Stoke and started their last game played well too clean sheet kept.
Also I have been sayin for ages we should give Bruce another go.
Chorley White

Agree5 Disagree0

Kilgallon even

Could people please learn to use there, their and they're correctly. Quite annoying to see such sentences as there financial state etc etc

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Too late to educate many people on many things on here mate, but I do totally agree!

Agree4 Disagree0

Its a rumour post mate not college homework, as long as you can read it whats the problem..!

Agree3 Disagree2

It annoys the hell out of me too but not enough to post a comment to inflate my oversized ego!..... arrrgh, I just have done. Anyway, shouldn't you have a question mark after your first sentence?

Agree5 Disagree1

Yes, your right mate he should have a question mark after his sentence.
Also my seven year old boy loves this site and often reply/posts coments, shall i tell him he is annoying. didn't think so.

more important things in life mate.

I don't think there'll be any signing's before next week, particularly loan signings, simply because of the magic of the F.A. Cup! Everyone wants a good run and the chance to play in the final, and players won't be let go until after this weekend's fixtures just incase they need their fringe players or to stop them being potentially cup-tied (loans only). That said, any business we do I'd prefer done before this weekend...A centre-back would be nice!

And PLEASE will someone take Andy O'Brien off our hands so we can give his wages to someone who WANTS to wear the shirt!!

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Dont care what O'Brien does as he has resigned he is not getting payed.

04 Jan 2012 12:37:47
Does anyone know if Snodgrass will be back within the next week or two? Can't wait to see him and Townsend play together....will have defences quaking in their boots!

Believable4 Unbelievable1

He will do well mate - when i had my apendix out they stapled me back up, which i had in for 3 weeks and was told not to life or exercise for another 3/4 weeks.

Agree0 Disagree1

04 Jan 2012 11:53:40
Don't think Lichaj will be coming to Leeds. McLeish is desperate to get him back to fitness and I can't see it being so he can send him out on loan. Was getting his game regular with Villa before injury and were he to come to Leeds he would only be here 1 month until match fit and that's no good to us.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

04 Jan 2012 11:40:20
Nicky Maynard rejected another contract with Bristol City and Leeds United are interested

Believable3 Unbelievable4

Bit rich!! no way we will pay so much out on one play, if we had it!

He was on Loan @ Cardiff last season but not seen him since.

Just seen on skysports that Portsmouth have again found new owners. No offence to Portsmouth, but they don't have the same stature as our club and are more financially ruined, yet how come they find buyers.

Someone must want leeds? Bill Gates... he'd be a great owner (free PC for season ticket holders & Microsoft office for Members?) or Apple... (30% discount on new IPhone for season ticket holders/members)

I'd be happy with either, both Mega Rich. (even Rupert Murdoch (cheap sky!) or drunk homeless man in Leeds) aslong as its not Bates or a total scam merchant like him.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Totally agree ,but I'm afraid you will have to be taken outside and shot ,for saying that Leeds could be bought by people that actually would run the club with some vision ,don't you know that Bates is God and we wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him.we should build a temple or something for him,so some people on here can go there every match day !

Agree0 Disagree0

Or maybe there are no buyers because the club is not for sale and isn't being marketed around various firms to promote its sale.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think its more the case of Bates wants us to think nobody will buy us and as soon as he pops his clogs we will go out of business. I think he could make more money writing a book called, Ken Bates Leeds chairman, The wilderness years !

Agree2 Disagree0

Bates has publicly stated that he values the club at £90 million. Given that Liverpool was sold for £70 million, and they own the ground, then I think we can safely say that Bates has no real intention of selling and is being somewhat disingenuous in stating yet again in some recent programme notes that no one from Yorkshire was interested in buying the club when he's pricing any serious interest out of the market.

As someone who runs a Leeds based company and tends to get involved in business networking I have encountered people who say they are interested in principle but the word is he is being completely unrealistic and agressive from the outset in negotiations. (Sadly, I don't have the kind of cash to even get involved.) I know people who claim they do and they tell me he's just being obstinate. That could all be b*llocks of course since I have no idea what approaches have actually been made and whether people are just being a little inventive to make themselves sound good.

One person I have met a few times from the club paints a very different picture of Bates but I guess that person's (very positive) view of him isn't entirely reliable either.

Either way, I don't think we can hold much hope out for him being on his way anytime soon unless he has health problems and, much as I don't care for Bates, I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Agree2 Disagree0

04 Jan 2012 11:10:30
Not based on anything concrete (then again is there ever where Leeds are concerned)
but think Simon Walton would be a decent signing for us. Still only 24 (unbelievably)but has a natural Batty-esque tenacity, can provide bite in the centre of the park as well as provide cover at the back. A formere player with a fondness for Leeds and Plymouth wouldn't be demanding a high fee given there financial situation.

Believable0 Unbelievable9

Fair shout that mate. He's defo a ball winner, but if I remember correctly, he had a bit of a temper on him? Got sent off quite a lot

Agree1 Disagree5

Not to mention the fact that he's sh*t

04 Jan 2012 09:17:46
ed do you agree that the loaning of players should be stopped, it only gives parent clubs the opportunity to keep these players fit and match ready at the same time half the players on loan dont really care about what happens for the club they are loaned too unless in a few cases they are looking for a permanent move, people should play their hearts out for the club they are with and not use it as a stepping stone for a future move or contract, we have had so many players on loan at leeds and how many of them could truly hold their hands up and say that they had leeds united and our fans best interest at heart, super leeds {Ed001's Note - I have often said I don't like the loan market, I would like to see it abolished, it causes too many issues. I mean look at Fergie giving his son players on loan and then pulling them as soon as he got the sack. That shouldn't be possible.}

Believable6 Unbelievable3

I agree with the fergie thing,But you have to remember we let players out on loan and they have come back alot better players.

Agree3 Disagree0

Did Clayton & Lees a lot of good and benefitted the clubs they went to. You'd expect Fergie to abuse the system though since he's an arrogant, selfish c**t.
