I'm not one for negativity normally, but seriously, what the f****** help was that today lads.

Squad needing reinforcements is one thing, today is inexcusable!

I'm sorry, but change of formation or no change is not an excuse for a performance like that, if the players are tired or not 100% they should not be putting on the shirt!

Plenty of youngsters would have given a better performance than that today.

I can't believe my eyes. People calling for McDermotts head after today?! Ridiculous.
Club finally going in a positive direction for the first time since I can remember and McDermott is an integral part of that.

Good call. Have to have the bad days to enjoy the good ones. Horrible feeling tonight after today. However reasons to be cheerful;

1) good manager in BM; give him his players not Warnocks and we 'll see a difference.
2) GFH; better than bates re engaging with us.
3) investment in players about to happen!

Need a BM team with his players. Brian won promotion with Reading playing good football ; he hasn't suddenly become a bad manager!

Yes we've all had a horrible evening but at least David Haigh now knows if he didn't already that real investment in the Team is required. The basic fact is that we have a team of mostly low priced players ( with some exceptions). Afraid you get what you pay for.

Bring on the takeover and for the first time in 9 years INVESTMENT!

And what direction is that, I have just watched a you tube video from News Now with the players leaving the pitch, the supporters are stongly voicing a different opinion to you, these are supporters who travel week In out to follow LEEDS UNITED and are fed up with these shocking performances.

If your striker is 6ft 6 and the players in the available squad aren't the most technically gifted "hoofball" is what is most likely to happen. People weren't composing when we couldn't lose a month ago.
Give Brian time so that he can get his targets and then we can judge!

Not at today's game, and by all accounts I was spared a real horror show. What the hell went wrong on every level as it is reported we were played of the park in every department.

It's upsetting when Leeds lose, but today it was the manner in which we are said to have lost - no fight, no spirit, no togetherness, no show.

Was it B McDs team selection, the formation, no plan B alternative when plan A was failing. Is it the dressing room, are some players just not good enough.

I feel upset, angry, and as cheated as any leeds fan after today's performance and embarrassment.

From last 5 games it's the midfield that is coming up short by a country mile, we might have plenty in that position but they are not good enough.

We need quality signings now, footballers who can play football, not young players who are going to be the biz in a couple of seasons.

BMcD promised us entertaining football played how it should be, on the deck with slick short pass and move. From what I read from those of you who go to games regular we are still playing hoofball? C'mon Brian we are better than that we, deserve better than that, sometimes it's sounds like Warnocks style is still with us.

I'm trying to keep positive, my support for Leeds Utd will never die but it's frequently tested over the past 10 years, especially after performances like today's.


Just hope Leeds turn up next weekend.

To all the fans calling for McDermots head, get a grip. We are not a premiership team, we have no given right to win. Brian has done a great job. We are rebuilding and we have the basis of a decent team. Ken Bates set us back years. Rochdale was a shocker but crap happens, get over it, keep the faith and keep supporting Leeds. We are only going to improve if we keep united. Rome wasnt built in a day.

Couldn't agree more. LUFC fans must have an even keel. Brian said promotion was a 2-year process in July, and I think that statement, in spite of potential new investment, remains true. Frankly, I thought we were lucky to be 5th when we were and we are extremely fortunate to be 1 point out of the playoffs.

Smith is not useless. 8 goals in half a season in your first time at this level is no mean return although he does miss a lot of chances he has made a decent start.

Dont worry Leeds fans I believe the takeover is still in place despite the horrendous cup defeat. BMc said it was the lowest point of his career & the squad urgently requires re-inforcements which suggests the funds are in place.

Think people need to chill after today. Yes we got outplayed by a lower league team and we out of cup. But we lost no points. That's most important. Bmc will know what we need and will sort it. We on a bad run at the moment which every team goes through at least it's transfer window time when we can sort it. Relax guys there is a long way to go

Sorry how low will the confidence be now, if they can, t beat a team 2 leagues below us or at least give them a game then down the table we will go, chill out! I, m bloody crying with shame!

We just got 2 points out of 12 before this - That was our 1st team as well that just got beat - The midfield is inept, when was the last time we had a midfield that dominated the centre? Think Prutton and Douglas were the last ones

Although I do not think we should consider sacking brian, he does have to be careful. If GFH carry on investing and invest a large amount of money in January and results and tactics do not change he will get the sack. GFH were quick to sack warnock

Hi original poster here. Maybe I didn't really explain my point well there. I agree with almost every single point in the replys that people have made. What I was was trying to say was that I believe that we will see our team slowly fixing from now. After hearing Bmc on interview after facing the facing the fans, he will sort this out. For the first time( last 5 or 6 games not included) I see something in him that stands out from our previous managers. He is dedicating his life to us and it hurt hm today my opinion we will come good with him we just need to be a lil bit more patient. Rant over lol

I understand everyone's frustrations today and I agree bmd may have got his team selection wrong. but. Taking a positive at least we can now concentrate on our league performance without having one eye on the cup games as we have in previous years. Remember what most of us were saying that promotion (which is what we all want rather than a cup run let's be honest) was a realistic aim NEXT season when bmd has had chance to recruit and build his own team fully. That is when I will judge him but for now he is still the man to take us forward and calling for his head is just silly in my eyes.

Thank you for a calm collected post. BMD needs time to build his own team and buy in the players who can play neat effective football.
Yes today was a terrible day at the office and the last month hasn't been good.
I hope this is a turning point in our season and we get players in quickly. MOT Ron.

How ridiculous, bmd is a very good manager but is still human at the end of the day and can make mistakes the same as you or I! I agree he got his team selection wrong today but he is the right man for the job for me. KW.

Yes it was a terrible result and I didn't agree with his tactics and team selection but that's a little premature to be calling for him to be sacked when he's been doing well

Bottom line is BmD isn't a good manager. He's made bad signings so far and doesn't seem to have a clue about what to do going forward. From the get go, we've needed wingers. Yet. here we are with no new wingers. I remember a month or so ago him complaining about the team playing it about in the middle of the pitch aka keeping possession. now he complains about us not getting our feet on the ball. I mean. Seriously? WTF is he on about. BmD is a Mr nice guy, who says anything to keep people on side. he ain't no master tactician, or a philosophy driven manager. He just reacts to what ever with what ever. Aka clueless. What he's done off the pitch may have been good. I just dunno. But we've needed a revamp. But this now. Saying we need new signings. When he's already signed 6 says it all. What we need is a balanced team. Time to get rid of the dead wood so we can afford the wages to get in the new. The new being players who fit into the managers football philosophy, bt seeing as he doesn't have one then. WTF the future holds I don't know. But BmD hasn't lit my fire, and I'm just glad the rest of the Leeds fans are finally speaking out and not listening to those desperate folk who cling on to the "anything better than before" attitude.

Over 3000 travelling fans and the players couldn't be arsed to even try to make a game of it. The owners can have as many incentives as they like to attract fans but if the players don't give a rubbish then we will soon be back to 18000 at best for home games. Get rid of the deadwood/lightweights i.e. most of the team.

Absolute Shocker. Fans on here who have stuck up for Austin or Murphy please watch the highlights if you can stand it. Camped in our own half for just about the last 20mins apart from long balls that came straight back. The midfield offers no cover for the defence and no support for the strikers, as far as Mcdermott goes the team selections and tactics are proving to be poor, As a unit the team is to predictable and I would say most teams could beat us as ROCHDALE deservabley did today.

Amen to that, one of the most frustrating games I've seen, they played the same against Barnsley, midfield didn't even exist, just the defence lumping hopeful balls up to the forwards. You'd of thought we were the the league two team

Today was not a one off. Last few matches same issues:

1) hoofing the ball
2) midfield not showing enough for our defenders hence the hoofing.
3) inability to keep the ball.
4) no creative midfielder.
5) route 1; if you play Matt smith you're sure to hoof it up.

Appreciate BM hasn't the wingers he wants but coach the players to play the ball on the floor.

BMD got this game all wrong today! He should of rested key players and given the fringe players an opportunity. And didn't use his subs early enough, they need more than 10/15 mins to make a real difference. And i'm sick of this 1 dimesional long ball approach, its awful to watch and its far to predictable and easy to defend against!

But the blame lands at the players feet today. Not one player deserved to wear thier LUFC shirt and they all need to take a long hard look in the mirror.

Roll on the takeover and new investment because we need to get rid of the deadwood and introduce some new and exciting talent.

Good luck to Rochdale, they obviously wanted the result more than we did. As far as we are concerned I will leave the inquest to BMD. I will probably be in the minority but I do not believe in gut reactions. This was a banana skin waiting to happen and we were not up for it hence I expect the culprits to be appropriately dealt with but as I said that is BMD's job not mine.
