So who'd you think this premier league winger is that we're in for? Like to see what some of you guys think before its announced tomorrow (maybe)

Mihail Antonio.

Nathan Dyer available.

05 Jan 2016 11:26:37
Nathan Dyer is on Loan at Leicester, so unless his deal gets cancelled and he moves from Swansea I can't see that happening.

Alos he would be on Bridcuttesqe wages.

Would be a great signing though.

I heard its this Chelsea player called Eden Hazard.

Gnabry?

Rather than spending however much on a winger, as has been reported, why not have one last try of using that money to really improve Byrams contact?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

04 Jan 2016 22:19:00
Because he is a replacement for Byram.

Byram is reportadely on 12k a week. If we sign anyone it will be on comparable wages and be bought for less than we recieve for Byram.

Also MC probably doesn't value Byram 20k a week so he will be sold.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jan 2016 07:34:45
I can count the number of great games Byram has had in the last three seasons on one hand. Yes he was great in the tv games, but that was to attract attention. He was also poor v Preston and MK. He isn't worth £20k a week and we have better players on less wages.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jan 2016 08:03:07
I agree, no way would I pay Byram 20grand a week, he is no where near worth it.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 jan 2016 09:04:54
who says it has to be 20k they could offer 15k still an improved offer.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jan 2016 09:08:23
Thats fine, but there are a number of premiership sides that will pay that. Plus a decent signing on fee, so he will go if the right price comes in.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jan 2016 13:16:58
Why does he deserve a raise even to 15k a week? He's had a good December which, if you really want to be sceptical you could say it's because he knows the transfer window is opening so needs to impress. I personally like Byram, he's a decent full back but don't rate him as highly as some and wouldn't be breaking the bank to keep him.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jan 2016 14:55:15
It matters not that he's not worth 15 grand a week. We offered him less than 12.

Hi some posts on here asking MC to fund players. Got to be mindful that not long ago many fans wanted him gone! He is a business man so I am sure he will bring people in but I wouldn't spend money if I wasn't supported. Let's see what he does and get behind him particularly if he sees us right.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

04 Jan 2016 20:59:13
Hence everybody we have been linked with so far has been on a loan basis. Can't see us spending much money on permanent signings even if Byram goes. Evans is still on a rolling contract, so MC ain't going to give him money for permanent players if he's not going to be around in a few months. Personally I'd gamble on keeping Byram and hoping new additions push us towards the play offs and who knows what that will bring.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2016 22:24:48
He will sign 1 player on a permanent basis and bring in 2 loans.

The signing will keep the the fans happy and show investment in the future and the loans to bulk up the squad.

He will do the minum he has to do to keep the team going, with the hope SE can get a decent tune out of the guys and push for the play offs.

If Bridcutt signs this will be considered as one of the signings.

Rotherham cup match. Evans says some tired so assuming he rests some, Wood Berardi injured I would love to see this team out, remembering its win or bust in the cup.
Defence Sylvestri, Coyle, Berlusci, Cooper, Taylor. Two young backs with pace to get up and down and orders for pepe to stay behind Bridcutt
Centre midfield Bridcutt for obvious reason. Sloth because in development squad he has played a passing game and most things go through him. Able to get forward and has started tackling a lot more, just got the nod over Bianchi.
Two wingers, Botaka and Dallas with orders to attack.
Ant and Erwin up front to see if they can gel.
Any team we put out should beat Rotherham so worth a shot.

Bige good call mate, given injuries and form etc that is the team I was thinking about aswell, will be interesting to see what he does, maybe even a new addition in time too! Mot 😎.

Not sure on Taylor, he looks tired and we've got a season defying match v Ipswich on the Tuesday afterward, so he needs a rest. But saying that, the only other LB we have is Denton and I don't want us to field too many kids.

04 Jan 2016 17:00:40
What if one of ours gets sent off?

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Jan 2016 17:09:36
Is there any reason why Botaka hasn't made the squads lately.

also I don't think Bridcutt will play, as he has gone back to sunderland. Yes we are trying too bring him back, but I can't see him starting.

04 Jan 2016 18:24:04
Good shout BIGE. A few players could do with a rest and it would be good for Sloth, Botaka, Erwin and Coyle to get some playing time under their belts and hopefully help the first team out for the second half of the season when needed.

IMO half the team look tired but Dallas and Taylor look the most tired on Saturday and should be rested. Bridcutt, he'll probably be cup tied. Would like to see Erwin and Auntie Lucy up front. Botaka and Sloth given a start.

we could do with a good cup run.

04 Jan 2016 19:53:44
Jeff, if a player gets sent off we play with 10. Unless another player gets sent off, then we play with 9 etc. etc. I hope this answers your pointless question.

Yes MM
But what if they get a player sent off?
Could you list all the possible options if you don't mind. Ta.

04 Jan 2016 21:02:02
There's always the chance that our manager can get sent off, then we still play with 11 unless a player get sent off as well in which case we play with 10. The possibilities are endless 🤔🤔.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2016 21:03:42
I'm all for giving the youngsters a go. We're at home so the crowd will be behind them and that should get them going. I'd like Erwin to have another go. I thought he was lost when he can on Saturday, but if we play with wingers and somebody like Antenucci helping him up front, then who knows.

Ahh, Speedy, there is one rule I believe that states if a team has 4 or 5 players sent off before a certain period (let's say 60 mins for arguments sake) , the match is abandoned. If it's after 60 mins (or whatever it is) the match is completed. I could have looked this up to try and look uber intelligent but can't be bothered. Apathy has been my achilles heel since I was a lad!

I seem to remember one of Warlock's teams doing it before and untrue gentlemanly style Warnock was instructing his players to try and get sent off. I think it was Sheff Utd. Perhaps someone could confirm this.

I hope Jeff isn't reading this as it will only confuse the poor old boy even more than he already is.

MM.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed003's Note - you're confusing 2 different rules mm.If a game is abandoned after 75 mins the result stands and a game with less than 7(?) players on one side(at whatever time) has to be abandoned.But I suppose if that was to happen after 75 mins you are correct.}

04 Jan 2016 22:05:23
So what happens if you are losing say 5-0 and you then get 6 players sent off? The game gets abandoned. But does the score stand?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed003's Note - by the football rules yes speedy.}

Please Mr Evans stop looking at Lafferty as our solution because unless we play in Green shirts he is not going to find the back of the net. There is a reason Norwich do not play him there is no reason to suggest that you can change him. A quick look at his stats will tell you everything and don't say his link up play is exceptional - we need goals from our strikers (hence the Wood debate)

Everyone said same about bridcutt about us getting him when he can't be in Sunderland team.

I was going to say Leodis. That might be true. But any player we get is because their current club want rid.

04 Jan 2016 16:31:40
To be fair I think the carrot munchers have a couple of decent strikers or have their eye on someone only premier league wages could afford, so Lafferty will be surplus to requirements. Hopefully he will be a decent but his goal scoring record doesn't fill me with great optimism. Bring Haribo Booboo or whatever he was called back lol!

Read an article that Grabban is available aswell, surely he would be a beter option, proven with goals.

with Lafferty, he is simply hoping he will click with Dallas. Only one problem, you would have to drop Wood
and Antenucci would go further down the pecking order.

cook off but bournemouth they can't buy . sam off talks of taylor . so that would be that . selling club if that happens and mc would want us to stay were we are . to get out of this league you need to keep these players not sell them unless mc is now a money gabber, and to replace were after nolan.

If they all want regular playing time, they should all stay!If any of them sign for prem clubs, they won't get much game time! With it being the January transfer window, silly money will be on offer, for the transfer, fee and no doubt wages! Also, their agents, will get a nice bonus out of it!
