Anyone read the Billy Sharp going to Sheffield United or Ipswich for £1.2Million!! I'm on the fence with this one, I kind of like him and I don't think he was given many chances to shine. But then again £1.2Millikn is good business especially if it went towards a new striker worth a couple of million!

I agree he didn't get a chance to shine, but it makes good business sense to sell as I don't think he'll be a regular next season.

Think Sharp would jump at the chance of going to Sheffield.Think he would play better in Roslers formation but don't think he is going to stay to be honest. Morrison should have his bags packed ready to go but guess he will see out his last year if moneys not right.

All being well we shall make some decent signings in the right positions. But what are we to do with the infamous six. With the possible exception of the young keeper I believe they should all be bombed out back to their 2nd rate Italian clubs. I rate Antenucci but we cannot have a split in the dressing room and by all accounts that is what there is, as these lads expect to be playing regularly. I don't believe NR disregarded these lads due to favoritism, just tactical reasons. Hence Morison over Antenucci.
Anyway it will be interesting to see will the recruitment process be similar to last year.
God I hope not! MOT.

George I W . I don't think that's what happened The Great Man recommended Giles as next manager . Billy was not too happy with this so Clough was a compromise that turned into a disaster I believe if Giles had got the job as the great man wanted Leeds would have continued to prosper for many years .Clough lasted no length and thus stated the chopping and changing of managers which never brings success.M C take note.

Totally agree Chips well said, totally spot on about Giles and if only MC would listen eh!

It was nothing to do with the boardroom being jealous of Revie. He went for the England job then decided to go elsewhere for the money. The board wanted a big name manager, and they did not come any bigger than Clough at that time. Unfortunately like some one else we know he had a big mouth. Thought he was bigger than the club, he was not. If we had appointed from within or gone for some one less controversial we would have built on what Revie left us, instead we ripped it apart.

I hope the people that publish that tripe don't get paid for it. They just keep churning up the same stuff every year. Pretty sure we wanted Bjarnasson before too, despite Rosler working with him for 3 years.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jun 2015 17:49:55
In the days that I watched Leeds, in the 60's & 70's, before I left for warmer climes, I only thought of Revie as 'Leeds', never thinking of who owned the club. Who did? What were they like?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

04 Jun 2015 18:03:18
How times change, we were never concerned where the money came from or went. Now its all about money. Really hope Rosler gets us up and stays a long time and we get some stability then people might stop going on about transfer fees and wages and where the money goes. In those days we had a great team and were successful so we were not that bothered, lot gone on since then. At least now we have an investor rather than money grabbers

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Jun 2015 19:12:14
Manny C was the chairman. In the end the board were a little jealous of Revie's stature and iconic status hence their appointment of Clough once Revie left to take the England job.

I am beginning to like what I am seeing, with the growth of anew, broad team, at all levels at Leeds, and agree with Ausman entirely. It could be the rebirth we have been looking for since the Revie days.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

04 Jun 2015 19:17:17
We had a rebirth since then. It was called Oleary. Btw reborn sides usually have 1 prolific or at least a decent goalscorer. Who is ours again?

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jun 2015 20:31:15
I think if we sign lee Erwin we will have a prolific striker in him, he reminds me of Steven fletcher, with a few more quality players (and I like the look of the players we've been linked with) and a leader ,hopefully joey Barton ,then we be a force to be reckoned with next season , two seasons we be in the premier league , I just hope the football league lay off cellino and Leeds .

Agree0 Disagree1

05 Jun 2015 17:30:05
Sorry Newport can't agree with the word prolific. Just look at his stats. I only hope that if we sign him he is one for the future (gamble) or an impact sub if we are desperate.

How does this man expect to move forward from his disgusting remarks about disabled people! He shouldn't be allowed near people and he should resign with immediate effect, disgusting human being he is!!

In reply to your post Dix1823 and Ausman, firstly I have just clicked on your posts prior to recent ones and I did not realise the extent to what George has been saying, now I've read it there is a lot I don't agree with. It is also good to mention that this site is a good way to put your points across and I don't think I've read one comment where I didn't agree with what was in it. In response to a couple of points to said, MC's comment about The Champions League is something we are a million miles from so what we need to know is what are you going to do now MC not five years down the line, will we be challenging this season MC? Will we be buying good players MC? Are you going to let the manager do his job MC? All of these are more important to us than Champions League and that's because it's what is now! We don't need another car crash, and I for one don't want another promising season ending in September! Saying this I do respect s lot of your other points but your statement about MC doing wrong and he has learnt his mistake! He obviously hasn't had he as he is up again for tax purposes so all is not rosey in our garden, saying all this I would gladly get on my knees and beg for forgiveness if he gets us to the promised land and as a success starved fan I hope he does for Lesds and for our fans. Just one more thing though, please think of any clubs that have been successful with dodgy owners, Birmingham, Blackpool, Portsmouth, Rangers and don't forget our last previous clown owner Ridsdale!

Fair point pal but you're looking too much into it I think maybe, he's just aiming high eventually who cares if its this or next aslong as we see progression and the making of a good team.hes not talking 5 year down line he said he re evaluated his plan after saying wel be in premier league in 2 year and now said if he doesn't get us up in 2 more year hel walk.sounds fair enough to me and I think its maybe pearson and uwe who have made him start being abit more realistic, going back to uwe's press conference he said top 10 will be good.does he really think that?doubt it but my point is better to sound realistic and everything else is a bonus.nobody thought bournemouth would get promoted and they didn't come out shouting about silly targets.to be fair I think he just needs to think before he speaks.champions league thing is obviously later down line but like I said i'd prefer him to say that than be how bates was.it makes me laugh about all these clubs they had some really good times and memories doing what they did and i'm sure their fans enjoyed it at time just like I did what ridsdale was doing, there's always a chance things can go t*ts up but nobody can say they weren't good times its called gambling and unfortunately it was a gamble that went wrong.

I hope MC knows something I don't but in all his years there he never got Cagliari into the CLeague nor the ELeague nor the Serie A Champions.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jun 2015 01:34:27
Bit of a difference in cagliari and leeds hence that's why he's here and not there anymore after 20 odd year.different clubs have different targets and aspirations.look at the size of leeds and the fan base were a 1 team city too there is massive potential just nobody wanted to take on our debt on and all the graft needed and we didn't have many assets, now we have good youngsters and can buy the ground/training ground back then we sorted.

04 Jun 2015 16:25:04
So he has increased the wage bill by 2.5 mill, add to that the wages of the loanees going back, plus players we hopefully sell and I think we can recruit some decent players, obviously within the wage structure we have. Its not like he will pay 20 grand a week to anyone, we can't afford to.

Don't get me wrong George and mm, I like a winge as much as anyone ( well prob the exception being George ) but I'm willing to see how uwe performs with his new assistant and how Pearson helps mc curb his enthusiasm. Pigeon steps people. We are heading In right direction. It's not all show me the money now. Judge him on players in by September and results by October.

Well said Ausman. It seems your cup is half full, just like mine.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Jun 2015 15:48:29
The hard facts are Uwe is our coach MC is our owner so no amount of complaining before the season starts will change that so bow to their inside info and football knowledge and let them get on with it Besides if Massimo decides to buy a 3 legged Italian donkey then that is what will happen. His money, his club.

Agree0 Disagree1

04 Jun 2015 16:24:32
I want to share in the enthusiasm, and recent appointments seem to show us moving in the right direction, but I just can't shake the feeling that all it'll take is Cellino having one cup of coffee too many and he'll start sacking anybody he sees. And that's just going to undo all the progressive work.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jun 2015 00:52:45
I've noticed a few of you on here are giving a bit of hard banter to George for his love of MC or not as the case maybe!! We all have opinions and we are all entitled to say what we feel about our club, but let's be honest, who really feels optimistic about MC, who feels we will succeed with MC, I was one who was optomystic until I read the article in The Mirror along with the statement on LUFC, before Uwe has been with us a fortnight MC belittles him over his signings at Wigan, he then makes a comment about getting us in Champions League! He has never once come out and said we are building a new and exciting future for Leeds United, we have a plan, we are going to build around our promising youngsters and then we will strive to get in The Premier League!! He's done it all wrong, he's said things that are wrong and don't forget he has more Tax evasion charges hanging over him! I want us to stop being a laughing stock, and it would be nice to be in the papers for good reasons and think on, how many successful clubs have their Chairman or Owner in the papers making stupid comments! I for one think George's pessimistic views have substance, I'm sorry guys but I'm with George on this!!

Yeah got to admit I'm team Georgie Boy too. Cellino is fine until he opens his gob. Every time he gets in front of his beloved press he spouts some nonsense. Don't get me wrong, I am thankful that he bought our club, anything is better than Bates and GFH but I was hoping Pearson would be the front man and Cellino would take more of a back seat but it seems he just can't help himself. I mean who would discredit a new manager before a ball is even kicked or in this case, before his first training session either? Just another example of Cellino discrediting a manager.

04 Jun 2015 07:38:19
To be honest I think he let's his heart rule his head. So when he is asked a question, instead of stopping to think about it and trying to be diplomatic he just blurts out how he really feels.
Most people involved in professional football these days just stick to the same script like politicians never really telling us anything.
I know he's as mad as a box of frogs but with all his faults I for one find him refreshingly different compared with previous owners who treated us fans with contempt and kept us in the dark.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Jun 2015 07:57:29
I am team AUSMAN. We knew Cellino was mad when he took over but everyone was loving him then, he is opinionated and some opinions he needs to keep to himself but at least he is honest in what he says. He does not say things to please the media or the fans. He has a vision for the club and is moving us forward. He gives people amunition with some of his statements but the fact is we are in a better place. We are moving forward and let's see what players we bring in. Delort was a turkey and probably cost Rosler his job, Cellino did not have to say that but he did and I think Rosler will get over it, probably quicker than some people on here.
Has Neil, Leeds forever Redfearn took up his academy role yet.
Has Sol, I love being at Leeds, Bamba signed up yet.
Is Massimo, I own Leeds, Cellino bothered? No because he won't let people hold the club to ransom.

The irony hee is that George Integrity Whitebread was a TV character by Harry Enfield who, everything he opened his mouth, upset someone. Just like MC.
I'm a fan of MC and he's a lot like me in so far as he speaks his mind. That's not always appropriate, but we're big enough and old to not worry about what the haters say. Just like Harry Enfield's character.

I'm willing to get behind MC, support him and my club, and put up with his insane ramblings.

And in answer to your question, Yes, I do believe he can get us in the Premier League.

So let me get this right Mike. your criticising Cellino for saying he wants to get into the champions league?I read that article on the leeds website and I though it was refreshing to hear, all he said was that when we do get the premier league we aren't going togo fight relegation were going toig to head for the champions league.now maybe that sounds abit deluded depends how you take it,i took it as he's being positive and trying to get us onside and were not stupid we no it may not work he wasnt gaurenteeing it its just where he wants to aim if that makes him bad then jeez we may aswel just all give up.and just mabe he was telling the truth about uwe's signings because they didn't work and you live and die by your signins as a manager and they didn't work and he got the sack.Cellino also stated which you haven't mentioned that if you give a manager too much control it breaks him and he believes that if they both work together its both their faults if they don't work which means uwe can't get the blame,Cellino would not have said that to start with so I would say that means he's learning.Like everybody is saying its about opinions but you lot on his back at this minute are not giving him time, hes been positive this off season so far,new youngish hungry manager who did make mistake but said himself he's been away 6month and learnt, new executive,we haven't even let him get the new head of recruitment in and let him sign some players yet these players banded about are just rumours.just give it a chance
