The FA has just confirmed that the FA Women EPL under ppg Chelsea are champions and Liverpool are RELEGATED!

Is this a potentially a very significant moment? As the FA has now created a legal precedent in English football that even in curtailment of a league there remains and still requires the rule of every season there is relegation and promotion in the football pyramid.

Given that the FA has veto powers in the men's EPL to veto and block any new rule change, any attempt by the EPL bottom 6 etc to request a RULE CHANGE that there is no relegation this season ( in the event of curtailment) would you think now surely have to be
be voted against by the other EPL clubs . and certainly have to be VETOED BLOCKED by the FA under its own precedent it has now
set for the FA EPL. womens league

Given all this I still hope that all matters can be completed on the pitch! Football needs to restart.

Are the two leagues linked via the EPL or are they separate?
If both EPL controlled they yes it's a precident if not it's no more that any other leagues decision.
Anyone know?

Also anyone know Augustin contract details and also if Werner to Chelsea would be now or at end of this season and if it could affect our loan of not so big Kev?

Canada as far as I am aware the 2 leagues are separate

the FA runs the womens EPL

but the mens EPL is run by a separate company and the 20 clubs in the EPL are ludicrously refered to as ' EPL. shareholders ' sounds like self governing to me . which is never a good thing!

However, the FA has power to VETO any proposed rule change by the EPL to the existing rules such as no relegation

Given the FA precedent decision today in the EPL womens game it would be inconceivable that the FA would not veto any such EPL proposal to have no relegation in the event of curtailment

But then again . nothing surprises me anymore in the murky, corrupt, illogical, inept, inconsistent, cynical world of football business and football authorities from FIFA Sepp Blatter downwards.

# the disgraced former FIFA president Sepp Blatter that is.

I think now that this has happened for the woman's premier league then the same rule should be followed for the men's game if unable to be finished on the pitch. The women's game has come on so much in the last few years and so much invested in their leagues by professional clubs, to then say we will do this for them but treat the men's game differently would not to down well.

I can't see what happens in womens football having any bearing on the Championship whatsoever. much less money involved and less people interested so decisions will be totally different too.

not poineant in the slightest. womans football has no money in it mens does and there lies the difference

today greg clarke has said that he has done a u-turn and unless the premiership and championship are concluded teams will nt be relegated . this will mean 6 teams go down next year

nt great news at all. I have said it will be impossible to leaglly relegated teams unless it is mathamaticlly concluded.

I think if the seasons are halted cause of health and safety issues then where you finish you finish and prom and rel would have to happen.

In theory Aus you are right and I do agree with you but however legally and money wise I can't see relegatin happening as teams can argue they may not of gone down and it was not complete.

it was in the sun yesterday that greg clarke has said relegation may nt happen and the person i know from the EFL said it would be a mine feild and more hassle than it would be worth to send anyone down.

BW . the unreliable Sun was the ONLY rag / source reporting this ' maybe' notion. None of the reasonably reliable broadsheets reported this which says it all for me.

Not only NO direct quote from Greg Clarke but also not even. a name of ' the club chief' quoted .

So the whole Sun rag article smells of utter bs especially when it states that Greg Clarke could perhaps ( ludicrously) agree that there would be no relegation in the EP even if the EPL finishes ( but the Championship does not ) if the EPL throw £129 million parachute money at the 71 EFL clubs work out around £1.8 million per club relative peanuts for the Championship clubs at least

A cynical bribe and for me under any of these scenarios the FA and Clarke would once and for all destroy what remains of sporting integrity in football in England so it is inconceivable that the FA and Clarke would agree to this 'U Turn ' given that it has been previously reported that the FA would not agree to no relegation.

But as I have said nothing would surprise me in the very murky corrupt bs football business

Greg Clarke and the FA should put this speculation to bed once and for all by a press conference now to officially state their position on this as the EPL keep procrastinating on the relegation issue.

Everything hopefully will still be completed on the pitch but
I hope Radz/ Leeds and West Brom have the very best lawyers at the ready just in case.

this is true BV although my mate who is high up at ELF said the same. The theory is unless they are mathamatically relegated they might stay up so relegation would be loss of earnings that any team could sue for (and might lose but might win) same reasons they have to promoted us as we could also sue. so safest cleanest way is to give promotin but stop relegation but next year see 5 or 6 relegated next year

in defence of the teams in prem i would be gutted if leeds got relegated under the same circumstances.

i worry about PPG i got a feeling once that is enacted they will insist no relegation happens which would mean more teams going down next year which could affect us.

yeah but at least we would have parachute payments and a leveller playing field on which to compete.
