Think evans will get 12 month contract with remit to finish in top six. Then come feb if we have no chance he will be out and new manager in. Ant and erwin to go with 2 new strikers in. Bianchi, Sloth, Murphy and Mowatt, don't think evans keen on him, gone and 2 pacey creative midfielders in, maybe one a left winger. Berlusci to go new cb in. Cook, Phillips, Taylor, Farrel tied down to longer deals. Vierra, Stokes and Wilks given games in cups.
Need quality players in though. Are they available. Hopรจ someone is looking now and we tie up deals early and don't wait till we offload one before we bring one in. Time to go for it in my opinion.

Nice post Bige.

The thing about Murphy is that he is an almost type but I just think really he is a good league 1 player so agree we should let him go, he has had loads of chances but no more than the odd good game and when going gets tough he disappears.

Mowatt is an interesting one, I am not a massive fan (he always seems to lack fitness, has no pace and again gets overrun when we are under pressure) but if you played him in an advanced midfield position and had good players around him he could do a job and would likely score 8-10 goals from midfield as his record says that he scores 5-6 anyway playing where he does.

Agree with ant/ Erwin, we can get much better really, Mr B wants to go back home I feel so fine, need to bring in a much better player at CH for sure.

I really hope SE gets given a go with MC backing and then see how he does with own team/ own pre-season by say xmas and see how team stand, don't sack him after 10 games if you are going to back him in summer as all things take time, he has done some prep work now with 35 games+ experience so would be a shame to waste that when I feel he isn't a million miles away from getting it right, but as always who knows re what MC will do.

Good post BIGE re the players. Think you've got it spot on.

I wonder if we'll bring McDaid back this season. Had a decent spell at Lincoln (my home town club) . Scored four and rarely got a start - might be a bit soon for him though. What do you reckon to the young lad we sign from Donny and the other young striker (can't remember his name) ?

With regard to Evans. He's desperate to stay and is claiming they'd all be drinking champagne now if he'd been in charge all season. Basically saying we would be promoted. I reckon Cellino should offer him a year (like you said) but if we don't get in the top six, take 50% of his salary back, like with the season tickets deal lol! A case of put up or shut up.

Nice post Bige but wishful thinking. Hope Cellino proves me wrong.

Don't think he will get a year. Think Cellino will keep him until a cheaper willing prospect comes along. Although there are a few better more expensive options if he is truly aiming at prem. Fat controller good but not that good. Bit like larry.

Good shout Big E. I don't think Evans should be given the reins. Probably because MC isn't convinced with him, so why waste money on signings (Assuming he gives him some) only for a new bloke to come in about October and not like the signings. Who do I think we should have? God knows! Who would want to work with Cellinio? So to go completely full circle with that being the case we may as well give Evans a punt ๐Ÿ˜ณ

It costs nothing to be decent, fair and polite to people. But it does earn respect and friends. It is beyond doubt that MC doesn't operate like this and hence the response from the footballing industry and many fans, not just LUFC fans. It is the right-thing for SE, the fans and the Club to know where they stand asap so that we can all move forward.

Nothing to do with being anti MC but I think its a disgrace the way the mad man is keeping Evans in the dark over his future. Surely he could and should have let him know by now if he is going to keep his job?
Or is this just Cellino trying to impose his power over a staff member, and one who gradually is getting more support from the fans?
Or is he still undecided on the matter? I doubt it, but maybe that's just me.

Agreed mate I'm not on the for or against fence at the moment but let's face it anyone can see M C may have excellent skills for running a club but personnel skills are dire .
We only have to look back how he has treated people in the past and this has lead to a number of court cases on which he has lost so far.
No one seems to stay in a position at the club for any length of time which for me indicates people are not happy .

Evans may or may not deserve an extension but what is undeniable is that he deserves an answer and that right now.

I know lads every manager gets at least a months notice.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 May 2016 17:17:33
Sarcasm wex. It's an answer he needs not notice. His last game ends in 48 hours. Zero notice required. Just give him an answer. Decent thing to do.

In fairness lads at this stage of the season every chairman is thinking about keeping the manager or not . That's football and I am sure Evans knows the score.

Wex mate its about what's best for LUFC. We should have been preparing for next season a few weeks back and getting players lined up that Evans wants or a new manager with his ideas on new players for when he takes over.
As George said its the decent thing to do regarding Evans and also best for Leeds United.

The decent thing left football along time ago lads . loyalty left the same time. Fair play was replaced by feigning injury. Respect for referees around the same time. Or have I been watching something else for the last 20 years.

well of course being mc's pr guy I am going to have his back but this one is clear cut for me. firstly se may or may not know his fate. secondly if he don't that tends to be the way for most teams (look at man utd just as one example) finally the teams that do annouce it get cained. look at chealsea and man city that accounced it and every one said it was a bad move to do so and expertts said it was bad moveand it has affected their form to an extent. so mc can not win he shouts mouth off and gets cained yet when he satys quiet he gets cained. if he coume a while back and said E is gone he would of got slated for that all.

What worries me is again we start with a new coach who has a shaky start and then we start again with someone else.
I would imagine certain people will not touch us with a barge pole as they will want to much say .
Yes we lost certain games badly like Brighton, saying that they hammered a number of teams .

dog I can see you point about starting over and agree if Se goes it can not be for a same or lesser abilited manager but I do hope we aim higher but if SE stays I will not be gutted as at the very least he has an argument for staying (unlike most of our mangers since larry and the hock) .

WEX I was thinking the same, but then again of course I was, maybe we was sperated at birth or great minds really do just think alike.

Grey areas all round really, this situation not really black/ white for the reasons some of you guys have said.

I would imagine SE will know after the Preston game and I would imagine SE has done a lot of prep for next season re players needed/ ones to go etc as all managers do.

Maybe football mirrors society in how it has changed? Who knows but let's not go down that train of thought!
