I have faith. but been diminishing rapidly of recent. I attend for the atmosphere and hope the team provides some form of entertainment and occassionally a result. My tickets for the Brum game are secure but i'm now beginning to feel that booking ahead is not such a wise move as i'm now going to suffer deepression rather than feel excitement at the anticipation of the game. Average team, average expectations. again

Well beaten again! can't defend and can't score, not much more say about that, owners have a year plan. its not about the team gelling together, owners recently complained about poor results saying that the team is good enough, results tell a different story. fact is bates sold all our good players, or lost them to lack of ambition. now on third manager, still no backing, and prem is a long way off, a few more back results and autos out the window and playoffs looking unlikely. who in their right mind would want to join us next summer if all we've done is the same as before.
good manager, not many bright lights in the squad and no money,, same old Leeds

Ashamed to say today was the first game I've been to this season (should've been to more by now). There were a few things that I picked up on that you can't always tell from watching the FL show. Number 1: the distribution from the defence (particularly Lees and Peltier) and Kenny was absolutely diabolical. Hopeful balls clipped down the line resulting in inevitable loss of possession was a massive theme in Leeds play. Number 2: there was no incisiveness in the final third. There were many situations when we had the ball on the edge of the Derby box and didn't know what to do with it. The ball often got played out to Peltier who crossed the ball without any purpose or conviction. Number 3: only positive in my eyes today was the quality and composure our little starlett Alex Mowatt had on the ball. One for the future no doubt FACT

{Ed013's Note - Fellow Leeds fans, male, female, old as you feel, young.

We are having a bad time, but always remember others are worse off. Now would be a great time to forget about the result and support some true LUFC heroes that are sailing the English channel in support of Myfanwy Townsend Melanoma Research Fund.

The event has been inspired by the memory of one the clubs previous Conditioning Coaches, Bruce Craven. Bruce died tragically after a brief but courageous fight against this indiscriminate disease. Bruce was an all round athlete and an accomplished cricketer, javelin thrower and rugby player representing Leeds Tykes.

Bruce was an extremely fit man up to the time of diagnosis so If this could happen to Bruce, it could happen to anyone.

Please support at http://www.justgiving.com/lufc-channelrowing and pass this onto your buddies to help as much as they can.

Remember, Marching On Together is not just sung on the pitch, but sang as a family and we help each other in any way we can

Why was Byram on the bench? If your'e fit enough for the bench then your'e fit enough to start. And if were going with 442 why would we play Mowatt and Green on the flanks? Imo our main problem is all of our strikers and wingers are average. I actually thing the back line is ok but if we have forward players who can't keep hold of the ball were going to be defending a lot. One or two players can make a huge difference in this league and we don't have them. Derby have Martin and Hughes, Burnley have Ings and Trippier. We haven't dominated a league game since Simon Grayson was in charge and that's the worrying thing, we still haven't replaced the players who were sold, Gradel, Howson and Snodgrass the main 3. Surely after 2 years of mid table it's time to gamble on investment. Vinny.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Two year plans what a load of bull. You have to build for what. You have to build only when you reach the premiership. You do not sign players now with big contracts only to let them go as soon as you reach the premiership. Why are leeds fans buying this talk when it does not stack up. The championship is poor. Will always be poor by its nature so get real GFH and stop pawning off the Leeds fans for two years down the line. What business sense are you trying to make. The longer Leeds are out of the Premiership the less money you will make. Even I can make sense of that. I am surprises Radio Leeds have not tried to get to the bottom of the two year spoof.

Really really getting fed up now, any excuses such as playing good teams, need time to gel, what a load of rubbish! There's only really 2/3 changes in the squad an anyone else can seem to beat anyone else, we only got 2 against a team who have on ceded more than anyone in nearly the whole league! But defence is getting worse especially since wooton not in the squad! Why must we suffer so many years of torture as a leeds fan!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

another waste of money trip to Derby, poor performance, inept from Green for the 1st goal.
Lack of ability and heart from some, as must leeds would agree, we can stand it if your not good enough but sweat for the shirt.

And to the stupid Derby fan in his late 40's who tried to antagonise me and my gentle giant of a mate whilst walking back to his car with his two young lads no older then 6, give over you person- the next 2 guys may react to your swearing and behaviour.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am sick of the excuses. Southampton got promoted to the premiership with an average team a year after being in the first division. They had good organisation and a decent striker. This is what is needed in a mediocre league. Southampton did not talk about two year plans. Even a school boy level you aim for the heights. Leeds cannot wait another two years because the premiership is getting richer every year and the advertisement and clout that goes with it makes even small teams richer and takes them further away from Leeds. One must only worry about survival in the premiership once you reach that peak. Leeds are dying in the championship, My message to the powers to be is get real. Leeds fans are sick of false hopes. It is sickening to see the likes of Wigan, Stoke, Fulham etc getting exposure to media and Leeds lying in the bargain basement. My message to the top brass is get the led out and get leeds up with speed. don't insult leeds fans with talk of two year plans in a championship which is so poor when you compare it with the rest of europe. No excuses get leeds up now. James Irish fan

Agree0 Disagree0

Can Leeds fans not wake up and see that this Leeds team should be capable of getting promoted. The championship is no great shakes. Lesser teams have been promoted without talk of two year plans. Talk of how would you cope if you do not have good enough players in the premiership is a red heron. You only worry about that situation when your reach it. If a team with Leeds fan base cannot attract players of a decent class with the extra premiership money then I will eat my hat. The likes of Southampton and Wigan could do that so why not Leeds. I am sick of lack of ambition and excuses. Two years is to long to wait because you know if you have that mentality what is to say that Leeds would still be making excuses in two years time. These excuses are an insult to Leeds greats like Don Revie. Its time for Leeds fans to revolt. Enough is enough, Because it is alright being nice and patient but do you know what it won't get you any where in life.

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds fans should flood the GFH with correspondence and let them know that they are sick of this two year plan spoof. You do not need two year plans to get out of the championship. You need bottle. What is the point of planning when you will have to change most of the team any way when Leeds get promoted. The money is in the premiership, europe, sponsorship and the clout that it brings. Get Leeds up pronto.

Trying to stay positive which is difficult at present, don't want to see return of the division in views about everything LUFC among us Leeds fans. But you can sense it on forums creeping back in fast, the optimism and good faith is being tested.

I try and reason with my thoughts our cr@p form is because, the formation being wrong, players needing time to adjust and gel, but I think after the QPR and Reading games the confidence and self belief has gone AWOL.

I was hoping we would be playing "entertaining" slick, fast paced, passing, attacking, football as it should be played, on the deck to feet, passing and movement. Swansea, Norwich and Southampton got to the Prem with this style of play.

However I will always stay with the team good or bad, I'm certain of that, Leeds United, it's a 45 year addiction!

Sorry for the mention of the Suffolk lot.

LUFC Always MOT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The Brutal truth is, the squad is average, the manager is proving to be the same, I can't believe a player of Diouf's talent doesn't start games he's Definatley no worse than Hunt up front or Green/Tonge in Midfield. Our tactics are baffling to us but predictable for the opposition to work out. McDermott still does not know the best 11 to start games.

Agree0 Disagree0

Brian mcdermott is not a average manager far from it you don't get a team to a play off final by luck then the following season win the league all the moaners like you need to get a grip and realise we have the best man for the job

Agree0 Disagree0

McDermot I'm afraid to say is not inspiring me with confidence or belief in his transfer/loan dealings thus far, or his team selection on match days, and his tactics. He mentioned today about a lot of work and industry in today's game in the middle of the pitch at Derby. Can he not see Leeds have no outlet which allows us to attack with more punch. The players have little idea what to do when attacking options present, under Grayson we scored goals freely, although we conceded freely too.
The defence is much better, McD needs to keep same back four, for me it's Byram, Wootton, Pearce, Warnock.
McD talks too much about "when I was at Reading" this is not Reading, WE R LEEDS UNITED.
Things on the pitch in terms of results have to improve in the next 4 - 6 games. GFH and McD can bring decent players in if they want to and I can't understand why they don't want to or feel the need to.
Shane Long, Vaz Te, and Kenwyne Jones are the "Jason Roberts" game changer types of players you talk of looking for Brian. Get them in and if they do the job we can sign them with prem money if we are promoted. Your plan A isn't standing up Brian you need to think about changing things around before it's too late.
I still think Matt Smith is not good enough for first team, and why is there a million pound player warming the bench.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Oct 2013 18:01:56
Managers are judged on results, tactics and players they bring in. BMD Recent results 6 losses in 8 and we only just managed a win against ten men last home game. Players brought in - Smith - Oldham sub. not good enough yet, Murphy 1 million - on bench not good enough yet; Hunt starting every game now - definitely not good enough. Burke would have been probably good enough - not brought in because of the £600000 price tag. Could have had him and £400000 to spend without buying Murphy. Hunt on wage bill and no better than the ones we are trying to off load. This had to be the manager's choice as he spent the money. Tactics - Diamond formation. I think it was Venables who tried that approach at Leeds and it didn't work then either. Unfortunately BMD hasn't spent wisely and doesn't know his squad. Mowatt is certainly equal to and probably better than Murphy- why buy him when we had Mowatt and needed a winger and a striker? Not good at the moment. Hope we don't change places with Bradford.!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree, and I'll say it again, BMD took Reading up because he inherited a good squad from no other than Brendan Rodgers. His record, signings and tactics are pretty awful and I honestly think we are no better than we were last season. at least we knew NW was going at the end of that season! They say BMD is in for the long haul, I'm not sure how much more I can take tho.

Sorry but I think it is time to start questioning McDermott. Awful tactics from him again today, everyone knows the squad isn't capable but we might aswell give ourselves the best chance of hanging on in the top 10. Play diouf behind McCormack and Varney up top. Midfield 3 of Austin, Murphy and Mowatt and give Aidy White a go as an impact sub instead of Smith.

The season isn't over yet, I'm just as dfissapointed as you guys. But the plan for the prem is in a few years. We might not get up this year, maybe not next. But WE WILL its just time. One reason why Leeds is so big is the fans. Support the team. They will play better with our help, so now stop moaning and help Leeds get some results. Come on leeds. A real fan will be with you if you win, draw or lose. I'm Leeds for life.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im afraid we can forget promotion for the forseeable future, how many of our current squad do you think woul do well in the premier league?, very few obviously, so without proper investment in quality players were in this league indefinitely, none of Macs signings to date are up to the job, and just like under Warnock were in goals against deficit yet again, we have arguably one of the worst attacks in the league, his insistence of playing Hunt is worrying as well, our strike force in league 1 was far better than what we have now, the legacy left by Warnock is with us for the rest of the season, his old mates like Brown et al sat on his arse drawing money we the fans can only dream about, yes we have a few very good yougsters hoverig around the first team, but if Byram stays fit its highly likely he will be gone in the next transfer window, I've supported Leeds for 50 years and will continue whatever league were in, its such a shame, we have the best fans in the land, we just need a team to match us.

Leeds are becoming painfully predictable in regards to their formation and personnel within it and therefore it does not take a tactical genius to nulify our offence which then exposes our soft under belly. Unfortunately the position we are in starts and stops with BMcD. Yes I believe he is the right manager for us and can take us forward long term however he needs to start addressing the short term issues that we have in our team. The personnel are not good enough and too inflexible to allow him to change formation. It is time for the manager to swallow his pride and except that the players brought in have not significantly improved what was an average squad. Finding players on loan that can be signed in January might not be possible due to pitence that is being made available from a scrooge like board therefore I would take Mr Noodles offer and bring in any player who can improve this team as soon as possible

Bmd for the sack the players he brought in are crap. The better players are left on bench. He won't use the money to bring anyone in because he does not know what he is doing and don't want to look a fool bringing more crap in. He got sacked from reading for not spending. And the only reason he did well there because he inherited a good team and foundation sorry but has to be side crap team crap formation and crap tactics that aren't working shoot me down NEIL HEARSUM

why oh why didn't we invest properly in the summer? It was fairly obvious we needed a clear out and some genuine quality! Having said that it isn't easy for McD or the club as they had so many dogs left by Warnock. Even the likes of Tonge. When we signed him in Jan I remember thinking. why are we actually signing him, he hasn't done enough on loan to merit a deal & he is 31! Also have to say was pretty confused by the Noël Hunt signing as well. Such a shame, yet another year in the wilderness. No real prospect of promotion. Sad times for a club such as ours.
