Imagine bielsa switching the front three if we are a few goals up in a game say 60 mins on the clock poveda Rodrigo raphina that pace on them front 3.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

05 Oct 2020 23:25:17
pace is so important in modern game and wins matches and it looks like we got pace to burn.

Brum Some bench we have now. Can only have 7 but here's 9.
Caprile
Struick
Davis
Llorente
Poveda
Raphinha
Rodrigo
Shackleton
Hernandez.

Agree2 Disagree0

05 Oct 2020 23:48:16
Hell George with those on the bench you have us playing with Roberts in the starting line up haha.

Agree3 Disagree0

05 Oct 2020 23:54:01
Didn't even mention Alioski.
What a fine job management has done.

Agree3 Disagree0

06 Oct 2020 00:27:22
πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ True for 2 reasons. He's got the shirt right now for one and for two I agree with Bub he'll improve. I can see him leaving end of the season though as we upgrade playing staff. See Tyler improving but insufficiently to warrant him staying. Roberts, Alioski and Douglas will eventually leave as we upgrade to Benrahma or De Paul and possibly Rico Henry.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Oct 2020 00:36:17
What his signing means is that for the opposition there is no respite from the wings. No strategy to tire them out as fresh equally adept and pacey subs are waiting to replace either. If we bolster central midfield and then Greenwood and Gelhardt come into the reckoning, silverware looks within our grasp in 2022.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Oct 2020 04:31:20
By Jan I could see the starting line up as

Meslier
Ayling, Koch, Llorente, Dallas
Phillips
Costa, Klich, Raphinha, Harrison
Rodrigo

Bench
Caprile
Cooper
Struik
Alioski
Poveda
Hernandez
Bamford

(Bamford and coops could keep their places if form stays on point tbf)

Shack, Leif and probs Tyler out on loan to champ sides and Douglas and Casilla gone.

Reckon Alioski and Dallas (if we bring in a natural LWB next summer) will stay around the team for a while though George, unless they ask to leave, are both on lower contracts and so versatile, even if we bring more in they are good options to have on the bench.

Still can’t see us beating someone 7 nil, but we will have to see let’s hope it man poo if it happens.

hard to tell from youtube but bit worried by that highlights reel which included a naff free kick, lame shot and not much end product! was impressed by the running back though, the gaffer will like that.

end of the day i'm not worried about youtube I got full trust in orta.

Yes I saw that as well Bermo - seemed to contain a lot of near misses as well. Still, a young relatively uncut diamond with pace to burn with any luck and stone that may emerge as a great player in time.

Going to fall apart isn't it. Fee supposedly agreed, medical done, terms agreed, he doesn't need work permit because he has an Italian passport, so why the hold up? Something not right.

Think Raphinha will be the last one over the line today, but not the last before the second deadline. Cantwell and/ or Benrahma before the 16th, to finish off the best window for many, many years!

I think you are right Brighty.

05 Oct 2020 21:02:28

What’s the delay, some say he doesn’t need a work permit as hold Italian passport Phil Hay saying he does, anyone one know if Huw Davies hold shares in Rennes FC?

George - I would whole heartedly agree to giving Ole a 10 year non cancellable contract!

Meslier lovers be warned : positioning when De Bruyn hit post was awful - I was screaming at TV it was so obvious - is getting better but still a bit of a liability in my view.

Time will tell how good we are.

Like most of our fans, relish seeing Man utd shambles. But in all fairness the sending off was a bigger shambles. Lamela should be ashamed of that pathetic play acting, and Mourinho should be condemning him. Surely bringing game into disrepute.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

05 Oct 2020 16:28:00
What a weekend - PL could be wide open this year, let's move from surviving to possible place in Europe a lot earlier than I hoped!

Even better man utd are shipping goals and appear to have no serious cash to resolve the problem unless they just don't trust Ole's thoughts ( and who would )

Still think we need a Keeper - my great Aunt Florence can hit the deck quicker than Mes!

This could be more exciting than we hoped.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Looks like quite a few of the previous seasons U23 side are now getting blooded in league football, and a new crop of U23 have moved up from the U18s or been bought in from outside.

Could it be we are getting a production line of talent underway?
It all feels very professional to me.
Watch how the loaned players adapt to 'real-man' football.

Can they hack it?
Yes get them in to the PL squad.
No get them sold for some profit.

And a similar thing happens to the U23 squad except if it's a Yes then loan them out

Just saw Gotts linked to Sunderland. Playing in front of those supporters would be a make or break to playing under pressure week in week out. A much better test than Hull Kingston Rovers.

Sorry alf, I meant to say he will have the pressure of the fans expectations. That whole area is a hotbed for Sunderland. You can't go anywhere without realising it's important to the natives.
The pressure on players for that club must be immense on a day to day basis

Al in all good grounding for what it must be like for a player in the leeds first team.

what is going on in football. very entertaining to watch but mental. part of the 80's kid in me is crying out for a proper old school team who can defend. where is George graham when you need him. frootball is far to fun to watch at the moment

on a similar note see old school manager David Moyes is doing well with an unfenced West Ham team. see old school over performs. got them to win the prem at this rate as I never fancied Liverpool from the off.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

05 Oct 2020 01:13:16
I'm pretty sure Liverpool will end up a lot higher than West Ham!
If you don't fancy Liverpool who do you think will win the league?

Dont think 1 or 2 games define a season, liverpool will top the league IMO,

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Oct 2020 09:18:45
you know what Canada before season kicked off I thought it would be

Man City
Chelsea
Man Utd
lesiciter
Liverpool
Arsenal
Spurs

now I have no clue what is going on. I don't fancy Liverpool they have been poor since project restart and the defence has fallen apart and for me you win nothing with a poor defence (why i'm not a fan of pep overall) and the forwards must hit a dip at some point

but city have stuttered, Man Utd look shocking (they need a proper manager) , Leicester look brilliant or useless with no in-between. you know what I honestly think if we keep improving, stay reletvily injury free and Llorente can get Cooper out of the team we might have chance of top four. at the moment the only team I don't fancy playing is West Ham, they will hammer us with high balls. anyone else who wants to play football and not hoof ball we can give a proper game.
