Simeon Jackson
Lewis McGugan
Jermaine Beckford
Royston Drenthe
Louis Saha
Craig Mac Smith
Nicky Maynard
David Templeton
George Boyd
Adam Hammill

In the last day these are the names that have been rumoured on here,I would love any one of these players, 2 would be out of this world. What are the chances of getting just one of them maybe??
For what its worth on wiki, Hearts boss Jeffires recently said that it Templeton is worth 15,000,000
so i would be suprised if we got him, obviously he wouldnt cost that but i reckon he may cost over a million at least.Realisticly i would say that Boyd, McGugan and Jackson may be the most feasable. Any body feel the same/different?

Believable7 Unbelievable0

15 mil? think you mean 1.5

Agree2 Disagree1

No it was the chairman who said it and yes he said that templeton was worth 15mil

Agree1 Disagree0

Jackson, boyd and mcgugan would make us such a force!

I have a feeling we will sign a marquee signing also, well I'm hoping

Danny ls8

Agree4 Disagree0

Personally I'd take Hammill (the lad was brilliant at Barnsley), Maynard or Beckford, not really bothered which, mthey will both get plenty of goals in this league.

I'd also take Boyd, probably not a regular starter but good cover and can hange games off the bench.

Still think we need another centre back though...

Just looked at some of the training pictures on OS. Rudi looks a beast, can't wait to see him get stuck into some midfield battles.

The new owner is called Mr Kenny Beast an old bearded bloke who makes Money from failing Football Clubs....Phewwww glad it's not Ken Bates again although the name is similar
MMMMmmmm Thinks!!!!!!!!!
Well I think that's what my Dyslexic friend told me (another long suffering Leeds Fan) after they confirmed him as SANE and convinced him the takeover was real. They let him out of BROADMOOR for the Family Fun Day. He no-longer has tendencies to self harm and is no threat to anybody who could harm his beloved LEEDS UNITED, he welcomes Mr Beast (MMmmmm I think thats what he said) with open arms.

Hey reading a lot on here about people saying Beckford is coming back. As much I I would welcome him back there has been no evidence to suggest that he is even available to move from Leicester. Also his scoring record is good but I think he did go missing during games and I don't think he is really Warnocks type of striker. Finally it rarely ever works out when a player returns to a club. Batty was never the same when he came back

you know something , ive forgotted about this supposed take over , but now concentrating on what nw has put together , he knows this league inside out , ppl are still knocking him , but he has a squad not that i truly believe to be our best in years , youth , exp, battlers , players we love to see putting it in , cannot wait for the season to start , even it the "old c*****a t*** is still there , no man is bigger than the club , and that includes him " mot

we are supposed to be the best fans in the world. we are supposed to march on together. if someone asks a question they do not know the answer to no matter how "daft" why put them down??? the reason i aint been on here in a while is half the people on here are too negttive and sometimes make me sick to thinkl you are fans. grow up and support your team aswell as our fellow fans

deakko7

Believable9 Unbelievable4

Is the "daft" in qoutation marks a reference to my comment on the Austin question?

If so, it was a stupid question. Anyone who follows Leeds should be clued about about who we have signed so far considering its been announced the O/S and there is plenty of talk about his clearance coming through and playing against Burton because he couldnt make it for the Preston game. Pretty obvious a deal had be done.

i have just been on utube and looked at beckfords goals for leeds 85 goals in 152 appearances is different class in my opinion! Hes both footed good with his head and has pace in my eyes he was unberlievable for us! Them who dont want him bk take a look at this and then tell me u dont want him to come home!

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Had a look and don't want him, most of those goals scored in lg 1,he has not got the attitude we want and his scoring record outside of lg 1 is poor. You really need to move on and get over the fact that he is not coming back to us.

Agree4 Disagree6

How is his scoring record poor:L he scored 10 goals in his first season 4 everton with only a handful of starts and had a fair few goals 4 lecister

Agree3 Disagree0

The question you have to ask is if he is so good then why did he get so few appearances at Everton, in a team that were desperate for a goal scorer at the time? The same issue last season? Poor team play, poor attitude , poor work rate? We can do better.

Just an interesting side note to Michael Brown re-signing, it says on the Official Website that he's squad number is changing from the originally announced 21 to 17.

It makes me wonder if we have someone on the way in that want's the 21 jersey...? Any rumoured players that wear that number?

Could be just Kisnorbo wanting the keep the shirt from the PNE match, but might be an indication of our next signing.

LUFC-Bob

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Two examples of players that have played with the squad number 21 more than once, that also fit the RW or ST roles include Bullard and QPR's Tommy Smith. Could one wear 21 at Leeds this season... Possibly.

You all say beckford beckford beckford listen we sold him because he wanted to play in the premiur league he was going to go out of contract we had to sell him he isnt a judas like harry kewwell i'd take him back even neil warnock said beckford was his first choice beckford or maynard to come in soon i'd be happy with either.

Believable3 Unbelievable7

We didn't sell him, he fulfilled his contract and went to better himself in a higher league. if he wants to come back for our new promotion push we should welcome him.

This is not a rumour, just want to say I'm fed up of hearing Leeds supporters slag off Jermaine Beckford.

His record for the club speaks for itself - his game to goal ratio as as good as anybody's. Finished Everton's top scorer in his only season in the Prem with a dozen goals starting only half of the games, and scored 15/16 goals for Leicester in the championship after being in and out of the team due to the unrest there last season between him and Pearson. I'm sure if he was settled and enjoying his football playing regularly, he'd net 20+ goals in the championship if given the chance.

From a personal point of view, I think he'd be a terrific signing

But the bottom line is NOBODY knows for sure who's coming or who's going and NOBODY knows if Beckford will make a return to the club or not. Let's just wait and see what happens. The manager has stated he's looking for a top quality striker with pace & I'm sure Beckford falls into this category. But we're all guessing at the end of the day. Let's just be patient and see what happens.

really hope this templeton rumour is true not bothered bout beckford at all to be honest although i'd have no complaints if he came in! i'd like us to bring a gem from abroad someone so we have no idea about that way the negative leeds fans will have nothing to say bout them seems to me no matter what signings NW brings in cant please everyone i suppose but i 4 one is looking forward to a great season ahead can just feel it! although its a long season ahead i think a good convincing win over wolves in our 1st game will lay a good bench mark of things to come at elland road after all there wasnt much wrong with our away performances last season but saying all that we do have a completely different team but one im lookin forward to watchin! irish leeds fan!

Had a skype chat with my dad yesterday, he played golf in a charity event last week. Peter Lorimer was there (now before you shoot me I don't agree with a lot/any of what Lorimer says in the YEP). My dad asked him about the takeover, Lorimer said IT IS HAPPENING but he can say nothing else due to the NDA/Confidentiality Agreement he and everyone involved has signed. . I Anyways it's no new news, my dads got no reason to lie (apart from senile dementure) neither have I.

I dont have any sources but I honestly believe that we are going to offer a contract to el hadji diouf, he is still without a club and i think something has been lined up by Warnock, he would be a very good wide man for us and he is very creative which is something we definately lack atm.

I know he comes with baggage but maybe Warnock could get the best out of him for a season or so?

Believable8 Unbelievable5

Diouf as already signed for a team so doubt it

Agree1 Disagree4

I would take Diouf. He is an atrocious individual, but......quality is hard to come by and we would be getting a prem quality player (if he didn't come with baggage) who can still do it, create and score. So its a means to and end, especially with our budget!

Theres goes my idea of getting Kightly in, was a longshot, still feel we need someone of his ability, not really sure someone like George Boyd will cut it, was he really that good when playing in the championship? Seems to me he gets lost in games easily. Don't get me wrong if he signs I will back him, but wouldn't be my first or second option. MOT SussexLeeds

i dont really care if people think beckford was a judas or not.
he went to a prem club on big wages and wasnt offered a contract by leeds as they knew they had no chance of keeping him.
stop whinging about him.
all that matters is getting us up to where we belong.beckford, ross and becchio between them could do the job.beckford is class act at the end of the day.this is the quality we need or someone like him.who cares about this and that.all i care about is getting to where us fans belong again....shrew leeds

Believable13 Unbelievable4

I find it ridiculous and narrow minded the amount of people on here who slag beckford off for leaving us when he did! How can people say he is Judas, greedy, money driven etc!? The guy had a chance at premiership football with a reputable club and he also scored goals for fun which ultimately got us promotion!

Regardless of the figures he was on at Everton as they were always able to offer us more money, we would of still been in league 1 were it not for him! He got his deserved chance at the top n he took it like everybody else would of done! I would take beckford back in a flash because on his day and playing CF he is as good as anybody in the championship and many prem strikers imo.

Whatever people say about him he's played a big part in us even being in this league full stop.

Scot MOT!

Believable17 Unbelievable0

Well said mate i completely agree with you.

Agree10 Disagree0

I have nothing against Beckford and he has talent, has the ability to finish and can get a goal from nothing and yes scoring goals in League 1 got us where we are. But For the money we will have to spend, 2m? + 15k pw? I would want a player that would totally dictate or attacks throughout the 90mins. I see a quality marque striker being the type of player that gets the whole crowd going once the ball is at their feet and is always looking like they will get a goal. I don't see that being Beckford, he is too unpredictable and go missing in games. I have no idea who is in our price range and available at the moment and have feeling it may have to wait until Jan when we are hopefully up their and looking that a side players want to come to. Im hoping warnock has a trick up his sleeve but with the upon us lets hope it comes together asap!

This is not a rumour, but all these people slagging off Beckford are mad, probably not even proper Leeds fans. He scored loads of goals for us, yes in League 1, but without his goals we wouldn't of been fighting for promotion. He scored the winning goal to beat Bristol Rovers and get us up and lets not forget the most important goal, Man Scum 0-1 Leeds!

He left because Everton offered him Premiership football at a stage in his career where he had to take it. He wasn't a youngster, if he didn't take it then he might never of got it. He scored 10 goals for Everton in one season, not bad considering he hardly played. And he scored their goal of the season, skinning John Terry and numerous other Chelski players and chipping Cech.

I'd have him back any day, but I just don't think us as Leeds fans are that lucky. But we can dream.

Believable12 Unbelievable0

Would take Beckford back no problem if we can agree on wages. Still has a lot to offer. Didn't fit in at Everton but as was stated still scored 10 goals in 40 games for them and most of those appearances were for 20 minutes or so as a sub. Similarly 15 goals in 44 games for Leicester, again a lot of those coming off the bench.

ED can you shed some light on this? Apparently, we offered Snodgrass the largest contract offered to any player in the last 10 years at the club. If the FRESH rumours about Beckford are true, d'you think they've offered Beckford the same contract to get him? {Ed013's Note - Which post is this supposed to be attached to?}

Believable3 Unbelievable2

It is true, was offered the biggest contract in years. The same contract could be offered to Beckford, just depends how greedy this lad has be come. Remember no player is bigger than the mighty whites.
