Apparently Britt Assombolonga is on his way to Forest, feel like everybody around us is spending big money and we'll get left behind. I'm happy with most of our signings but we need to replace Ross' goals and the likes of Nile Ranger will not do that. Hope we pull out all the stops and go for Delort.

MC
Says we are NOT in for him, must be rumours mate!

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe, just maybe, some of these unknown players we are signing will prove to be absolute gems (Bianchi). Salerno is highly regarded as a talent spotter so let's assume he knows what he's doing. Anyway is the £4 million we will be paying for a Juventus player not good enough for you?

Why do some people like to be negative before the season has even started? Granted, if we are bottom of the league after 10 games, I will not be happy but let's get behind the team as this is the only way forward after the last 10 years.

Anyone know if there is a limit this season on how many loan players are allowed in the starting 11?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed003's Note - 5 in any match day squad.}

I'm not being negative, like I said I'm happy with most, in fact all, of our signings so far, I'm just stating my opinion, that we need a goalscorer. I've not been this buzzing as a fan since we signed David Hopkin, lol, I was very excited about him.

At the moment the only players we will have on loan are Doukara, Benedicic & Sørensen as Bianchi, Silvestri, Berardi, Taylor & Ajose are permanent, still got two more loans potentially in!

M C states in interview that he found lots of things wrong re-finances and gfh cut purchase price as result .
His words are gfh could not run a fruit stall!
After Dundee game he had to go around and switch off lights at E R .
Is it me or is M C not so into talking to a certain media at the moment, perhaps he is fed up of being termed a nut case .
Personally I think he is a very clever man, 11 mil for Ross is one example .
I love his passion and frank speaking, my way or the highway .

Manchester United legend, Howard Webb, has announced his retirement today. How will they ever replace him?

I wonder how many pens he's given in his career and how many were at COLD Trafford ;)

According to mc the Sorensen deal has been done and completed. 500k upfront for season loan and then 3.5million for permanent deal at the end of the season.

A good signing and could be a Leeds legend!

I've just been speaking with my Italian Juve' fans. They rate Sorenson as a really good young player. They say we'll be really pleased with him and are sorry to see him go. Looks like we're shaping up well. Let's hope all the new boys can work well together quickly and we can make a good fist of things early in the season

With byram and mowett established in the first team squad, which of the following youngsters do you think has the best potential to be our next star? Taylor, killock, Skelton, Cook, Dawson, Phillips or Walters

I can see dawson and cook being great players. Taylor showed he could be good whilst at fleetwood last year. I think dawson looks the most promising for next season but career wise lewis cook

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Taylor has a good opportunity with left back up in air, warnocks days could be numbered, berardi is more comfortable at rb, allows byram a more attacking pos. Cook and phillips look class.

Agree0 Disagree0

Forgot Dawson who is quality but I get the impression hock is old school in regards strength which he lacks

Cook

Dawson is too lightweight at the moment, technically he's brilliant but he won't hack it in the Championship! Cook looks like a brilliant prospect but this season may just be too soon for him!

It's good to see that yesterday's poll gives 'the Hock' an approval rating of 66%, compared with the scenes of devastation when he was appointed.
I for one, haven't been this excited about the start of a new season for decades. MOT

Never could fathom the Hockaday appointment. Reading through all the articles yesterday I detect, in the article about the lights left on at ER, the first signs of discontent from MC towards the Hock. My guess was that Carbone was really the coach especially around match day selections and game time tactics. The Hock for fitness and after match English speaking public face but now with Carbone gone who will run the games if I'm right and are the days of the Hock well and truly numbered. I expect there will be another coaching type appointment. Either that or MC will be on the bench himself. Watch this space!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Interesting take on the situation. you could well be right. could have been that Festa was brought in to do the same job last season by McD wouldn't have it

Apparently Charlton have signed Delort for £2.6m. I've bored on about this lad way too much but we're losing out massively I feel, and to Charlton! Let's show ambition! I trust Cellino and I'm not expecting things to change overnight but after the £11m we got for Ross I was expecting a quality replacement.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

One player dosent maketh a team. We will trounce charlton!
Prediction for millwall game 0-0
Bit cautious I know but steady as we go!
bolton will be my first game in 15 years, I want a lots and lots of goals, like 7-0 would be good! Get me boy hooked!

Oxford
According to MC we were NEVER interested in him!

Benedicic - option to buy in a year, Sorensen - option to buy in a year. What are the terms of 'option to buy'? I mean is a price agreed now, just wondering as if they have a stormer of a season with us, the owning club can say 'well you've seen how good he is, price is xxx', anyone know how these 'option to buys' are agreed?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Aug 2014 04:32:32
They tend to be fixed price agreed now but it's not unusual to include upward provisions based on performance such as goals and assists but hard to do if position is defender.

Agree0 Disagree0

Options to buy will be agreed price now. just so the selling club can't increase the price. Would be little point otherwise.
