Evans tried to put a positive spin on todays performance but claiming we dominated the match however he missed the point that Forest were comfortable in giving us that possession as we did not know what to do with it. We had plenty of the ball and passed in front of Forest but had no quality to get through them. I was appauled with Antennuci today, despite having limited service he made no effort to find space. Mirco wants to do fancy flicks and score spectacular goals but he does not want to make countless runs that may lead to nothing. This makes a team player which Antennuci is not. Getting a striker in the loan window will not solve our problems if we don't have the guile to create chances.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

06 Feb 2016 21:53:53
It was clear from today that the club were scamming Mirco and now Mirco is scamming us. He was playing for a move in the window. Now it hasn't happened he has no incentive to play well. He will just collect his pay and try not to get injured. Of course for the club read Cellino. He's a scam artist and it is also fairly clear he is not as loaded as first portrayed. It was rumoured he had 750m. More like 75m. Insufficient to create a promotion charge. We are stuck until Parkin comes on board.

06 Feb 2016 22:25:18
Maybe Mirco is getting his own back for the amount of goals contract extension debacle last season!

06 Feb 2016 22:36:04
I hope so George however I struggle to see Cellino letting go. At the moment he is rumoured to be drawing a salary, interest from loans and profit from player sales. Others may disagree but I feel his aim is to make steady profit for himself. Does Parkin have sufficient resources?

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Feb 2016 01:45:44
Fan power (and abuse) shall make him let go. Anything other than a fantastic summer window of transfer business will evoke a furious fan backlash. Cellino is an improvement on all previous owners but very clear he lied to us. He can put it right in July and August and before then by bringing Parkin on board but after that he'll come under monumental pressure to sell and sling hook.

i don't think MC lied, I think he brought something then realised how bad it was (far worse than anyone could imagine) then he has GFH hanging on like dirty scorungers making life impossible so he has found it hard. MC means well and is passonate and shouts off his mouth but he means well by leeds, may be the only money man who means right be leeds since risdale, but unlike risdale MC is not bat S""T crazy.

All this talk of adminstration is really negative, if you think about it if GFH are owed the debt and Leeds go into admin they would only get say 10p in the ยฃ so why would they do it. Also they would loose anything if Leeds got promoted.
Debt to equity is a process most clubs do, as frees debt from the balance sheet and the debt becomes a bigger share holding so it's actually better for the club.
Finally if you look at Bolton for instance they are selling all their assets including players rather than going into admin, if we were in dire straights our best young players would have been sold in January.
I know this is a rumours site but please think it through before worrying people.

All what talk of administration?

What worries me the most, and it seems to have been the situation for far too long, is the number of goals we are (not ) scoring. Actually what I really mean is the lack of chances we create. Wasn't at the game today but can anyone who was tell me how many shots we had / chances we created etc?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

06 Feb 2016 20:45:54
I remember one Doukara header and a long shot from Taylor. Carayol put in a good cross but Antennuci was miles off the pace.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Feb 2016 22:24:34
was at game speedy.

We never really got behind Forrest, didn't put many good crosses in and we never had what I would call really good chance or a really good shot on target.

sure stats will say 12 shots 4 on target but of those 4 none were ever likely to go in.

We did not play sh*t, some of our passing was good but I would point out the following I noticed to be a bit of an issue for us.

Pass back too much

dont drive forward very quickly

Bridcutt/ Toums often play alongside our CH's bring the ball out so it will be too slow. CH need to bring ball up field sometimes and when they did it looked a bit more threatening.

I don't mind Wooton as a defender but the lad can't cross/ add much going forward and lots of the ball gets to him as he does get into space but does nothing with it. He does defend well in my opinion

CT needs to attack/ cross more as he could but sometimes he doesn't seem to want to today.

Dallas needs to start getting more crosses in, needs to add more to his forward game.

No one seems keen to shoot, today Cook never ever looked like he could score, get in a position to score or even set anything up.

Ant was hopeless did nothing

So we have little creative skills up front (today) ant/ cook/ Dallas did not do a lot in final third.

Our fullbacks, CT was OK but not much down the right side today going fwd. Midfield great in defense but offer nothing going forward.

ON todays performance I would:

Drop Ant, don't play Irwin (not up to it) , sign a fwd, clear we need to do that then play wood when fit.

Play Muzzy C/ Dallas on wing if 1 up front, tell Toums or Bridcutt to move up the pitch a bit sometimes, well more often than today.

Play Mowatt in the cook role as the guy does score sometimes and Cook just never looks like he will to me.

Tell CT to play forward more, drop Wooton or accept that he can't really attack much.

Team need to be quicker, mix it up a bit when going forward. Muzzy is a much better bet than Dallas from a forward perspective.

So SE does not have to do all of the above but should try at least 2-3 of them, esp at home.

Today was a game we could have won but no suprise we lost either.

Agree2 Disagree1

06 Feb 2016 23:09:26
You are probably right with your selection DG although I suspect that Mowatt will be played on the left when he returns with Cook in the middle.

have to say mangers know more than me but I never understand why giving anyone just 10 minutes, I understand to wind the clock down but if behind surely you have to change things with more than just 10 minutes, all atacking players need at least 20 minutes to make a mark on average surely?

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Feb 2016 20:52:50
Agree. But to be fair SE usually does give them longer. That's one of the things I've liked the most about him. That he could see where a game was going wrong and knew how to change it. Obviously that went tits up today.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Feb 2016 22:07:11
i thought he was like that so good to see you back that up speedy as I trust everything you say and dote on your word (but you already knew that) . I do rate evans at this level like to see him have a pre season and bring his own men in and see what he can do. gutted to hear all the negivitity about ant I rate him but if he ain't putting in a shift that is not good enough.

Should evans be worried about having to sign on? 1 win in 8 games they said on the radio mr cellino must be stating to itch.
Does anyone think he deserves to go?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

06 Feb 2016 18:32:50
No keep him until the end of the season. We can't go up now sure we won't go down. He's done a half decent job of stabilising us and don't want to return to the 3 or 4 managers a season like last year.

06 Feb 2016 18:46:36
evans did say if we don't push for prem next year he would leave so is he saying going.

06 Feb 2016 19:23:26
i like evans and he has done well on whole I think. his signings have done well one the whole so think he should stay on till end of season at least. if he does go gary monk would be stand out choice if we could get him.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Feb 2016 20:05:10
Bottom half of the Championship is Evans level. He is tactically inept and basically a defensive coach which is why we draw lots of games.
To often we start slowly and lose momentum very easily.
Evans is quick to point out that this is not his team and quick to point out what is required. But he has not improved any of our players and his continuing use of Wootton baffles me.
For me it is not rocket science get a proper manager in someone with a good reputation, someone who players respect and someone who they want to play for and someone who our youngster will learn from.
Our club needs to be built on solid foundations and MC is not providing that because of his obvious mistrust of managers in general.
We need to get in a Moyes, Alladyce or dare I say a Mick McCarthy and bring some stability to the club.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Feb 2016 20:19:59
I don't really know whether Evans is that good a manager or not but but he can only work with what he's got.
At least half if not more of our players are just not good enough to get us promoted.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Feb 2016 22:10:07
bit harsh on evans he has only ever had small clubs (which he over achieved with) and now us so he might be very good but at the same time I am not disagreeing with you as hoped we would of improved a little more by now. Also have to put a big no on mick mccarthy. He destroyed millwall (which I love him for) but I hate him, he might be a good manager but he is dull and the wife hates him so if he was manager I would have to not watch leeds interviews for the 23 games which he would be in charge for.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Feb 2016 22:42:30
Bermondsey, I share your hatred of Mick McCarthy but he has done well at clubs in the past and let's be honest is doing well at the Tractor Boys. I just want a manager who has the experience and track record to get us first challenging and then promoted, I am getting really tired of this mid table dross we are constantly being served.

06 Feb 2016 17:49:06
Starts with ownership. We are only at 75 per cent throttle due to GFH. They must be bought out for a realistic chance. Otherwise we automatically give up 30 points each season. Wednesday will go up automatically imo just to make things feel worse.

I'm with u mot just on way home from game stopped off for a bite to eat! We are not going forward or back we are " stuck in the middle with u " as steelers wheel once said that should be our new club song! Defo nt marching on! peterbourgh wasnt stuck in the middle with you sung by louise redknapp/ nurding. I thought she wrote that song if not her version must be the better one? one thing positive is we do have young starting 11 so if we can keep them and add a goalscorer (although I still hope wood will come good and be our new chapman) and a good center back we might be up there. in this league it is small margins so couple of good signings would make all the difference. I agree GFH have to go, not even sure why they are holidng on when they have no interest in club and must know to really make money we need to go up. they must be the only poor arabs to be involved in football.

I know what you mean if the boredom doesn't kill us it will be all those pies in the South Stand . On a more serious note this teams reminds me of where we were before Wilko took over. Bremners last year was really poor with very few goals and just no imagination. We need a major overhaul and anyone who thinks a couple of players are going to do it, I feel are mistaken. We lack any real quality in any area of the pitch, perhaps with the exception of Bridcutt, and I don't count potential as quality as I have seen countless potential come to nothing โ˜นโ˜น.

Dare to dream lads!

Last night I had a dream we won one nil against the broccoli so Mick is going to get on it like the proverbial tramp on a sandwich. Funny thing was the scorer was Wells as in Knacker Wells! This was a dream after all so I won't be predicting the scorer, just the result!

I also had a dream about Mrs Micks sister with the big cahooners but I'll tell you about that another day.

Enjoy the weekend - DTP UTW!

So then Forest today a tough game IMO and it should be tougher than Bristol for obvious reasons. But these are the games we should be winning at ER if we want to challenge next season and this season is all about setting up well for next season and people who say that isn't important look at Boro at couple of seasons ago they had a good finish to the season and the season after they got to the playoff final. IMO them building well in previous season helped. Another thing I want to say is that some people on here say that we need spend a lot of money to get out of this division that's not only way there is an other way and it will probably take longer but it is spending a decent to good amount of money that won't put us in financial issues or in FFP ban. And sticking by your manager. (For example Silver and Wilkinson. ) But back to the game, this is the team I would play: 1.Silvestri 2.Coyle (Unlikely but IMO Coyle should be playing till Beradi gets fit and IMO when we have Beradi 1 RB and Coyle a sub full back for me there is no reason keep hold of Wooton Clan. ) 3.Cooper Duper 4.Hess's Lover boy Belluscsi 5.Charlie "Consistent" Taylor 6.Bridcutt 7.Diougara 8.Cookie (In free roaming role. ) 8. Stuart "The golden boy" Dallas 9.Carayol 10.Souly "The goal scoring machine" Douk In a 4231.So predicting 2 1 with goals from the Douk and "The golden boy". ( Also side note I support Leeds as a football club not just as a team and I am massively interested with what goes behind the scenes but please on match day can we concetrate on what's on the pitch not of it. ) So let's get another win and make two wins in two get back into the top half and keeps this unbeaten at ER what's been going on since November. So let's have the best season we can have and continue this decent Fa Cup and make it into a good one and let's finish as high as we can and set up well for next season Were we will hopefully challenge to get back to the promised land were we belong. Up the Whites Down the Pints ( As the great Jedi Master's of Alcoholism said a long time ago ago in Weatherspoons far far away. ) MOT!

great post, I think it will be 2-2. this season now is all about building and also showing the new players in that it is worth staying and the young players that it is worth staying as leeds could be fighting for promotion. Also in this league nothing is ever over. Quite often teams come from nowhere to make play offs. I don't think we will but if palace could (they went from bottom at new year I think defintaly bottom at xmas) to play offs so if we build up a very good run it could be. if nothing else the players need to do it for the fans. I like your line up, don't know enough about coyle to comment but I would defintaly change bellischi for anyone even wooten (who has improved a lot) I think bellischi is good with ball at feet but temprement worrys me and I always feel he is about to get sent off or cost us a goal. my line up would be the cat, bardi (if fit) , wooten, cooper, taylor, cook, birdcutt, dallas, carayol, douk and ant in 442 but try to bring on wood again fitness pending) douingra and boktoka. I like 4-4-2 i'm old school I also would let me 1st 11 know that I am keen to bring players on and the ones who are not performing the best of the pairs in the same potsition will be brought off. I would rule with iron fist.
