I saw his stats on ssn the other day. He scored something like 14 goals in 7 games in one month. Throughout the other months the stats were just average for a striker at that level. Not slagging him off or anything, but this could potentially be a flash in the pan season. I think personally the asking price is far too high for a player who has never played above league 1. I know he's been capped by scotland but it is afterall just one cap so far, he would be worth a punt for half the price but I think they are asking for far too much.
Agree3

I agree, He does look a great league 1 player but he lacks pace if you ask me.

Robbie Fowler never had pace either, but similar finishing ability. we'll never get him anyway.

Jordan Rhodes would be an awesome signing young lad and very strong, I know we don't have the money but would be a massive uplift for us die hards, I can hear everyone saying yes he's doing it in div one but is on fire and worth a punt if only ken could see that!! Super Leeds

Great player I went to a couple of games last season and he was a great then. Said in the summer we should of signed him and even before Huddersfield did I said it. If only old Santa Claus would reach in his pocket for a late Christmas present. To be honest I'm pretty sure they won't sell him my uncle is close with Dean Hoyle and he says he won't.

Not a rumour like but graysons next signing will be Ed! What do
You think Ed? {Ed001's Note - I can honestly say that I don't think Bates would sign me, even if I played for free! There is interest in Ed007, but Bates says he must provide his own crutches.....}

You are sniffing a strong substance my friend, talk about reality! If Leeds wanted Parnaby they would have signed him when he was on trial as he is a free agent. The others are not good enough and your head seems to listen to all the rumours elsewhere and turn them into your own. Maybe you are another armchair fan, either way, we are Leeds.

Can't believe simon hasn't made a defender a priority before mon,I think he is gonna sacrifice the fa cup to concentrate on league,at least he will have a good excuse when we get beat lack of fit defenders, well do something about it asap. This transfer window is goin the same way as last, every leeds fan waiting for some good news then what will happen bates will get greedy 1 day before the end of window and sell one of our crown jewels then use the excuse it was in the best interest of the club.
Believable6
Unbelievable3
Errr what about Saturday and Sunday? Perhaps he has someone lined up but the club he's at want him for their own cup game......give the guy a chance, support the team and let's see what he can do by the end of the window, not 6 days in
Agree3

If any player is used in a FA match then SG cannot use them Monday as they will be cup tied.
Also realistically if a current club is holding them back for this round of FA Cup chances are they see them as having future at their club

NOt a rumour but just a thought. Assuming Snodgrass is fit and still with us for palace why not play him up front with McCormack. we could then have Thompson down the right and maybe put white in front of pugh on the left. Then all we need is a defence but I will let someone else sort that bit
No abuse please it is just a thought afterall
Believable5
Unbelievable0
You must be in two minds when writing this to put " please no abuse" at the end! You are entitled to your own oppinion. I wouldnt put Thompson on the right as I would like to see him in his natural position. I would also like to see Snoddy and Townsend doing the damage from the flanks. All the best.

Leeds United to be renamed Leeds Unexcited as a result of the ridiculously pessimistic nature of the majority of their fans.
Guys and gals, it's the sixth of January. We don't play another league game until a week tomorrow. The game on Monday is not relevant to our season. We've already made one quality signing in Andros Townsend, more will arrive before the Palace game. If you LISTENED to Simon Grayson after the Burnley win, this is how he said it would be.
Keep the faith, stop moaning, support the manager and the club.

Grayson/Bates have time and time again let the fans down ,what makes you think that this transfer window will be any different?,even if we do manage to get afew quality signings in will Grayson and the backroom staff be able to motivate and organise the team/squad,because they haven't been able to so far, most likely we will get in a cpl of loans and not play them most of the time or play them when they are not performing,Grayson had long enough now.he brings in too many donkey's and then we are stuck with them eating away at the wage bill.time to get shot of the donkey's and play more youth to fill the squad
Agree1
Disagree6
Original poster is absolutely right. Nobody does all their business in the first week of January. It doesn't matter if we don't sign anyone by Monday. We've already done excellent business signing Townsend.
People like YOU are the donkeys. Go back to your fantasy football games and grow up.

Grayson has said he's missed out on targets already 'they didn't quite happen'.... Deja vu. Expect more of the same until the end of the transfer window...

its a shame that sg isnt getting the support from the fans or from kb but lets look at what he has achieved with the resources he has promotion back to championship some quality squad players yeh we need players but if all we can get is loan players then we are going to be in this league for a while unless lady luck shines on us but then if that happens will the funds be available for us to stay up and challenge i dont think so the bottom line is here we have a quality manager in grayson and he is leeds thro and thro so show him some support and chant his name and the players and more importantly try and sign the players we have for next 4 years and watch the youngsters coming thro come on bates give the man the money he needs to fill the positions that will get us promotion {Ed025's Note - nice to see some support for larry...good post mate..

Bates is absolute disgrace to football in general,he demands Grayson gets us promoted this season
On 250k (spent on a keeper)
Your old age is starting to show Master Bates
Either back Grayson in January or sack him and give another manager cash to spend
Its not as if he needs to give Grayson alot of cash
3-4 million should be enough for a final push for promotion
Wish some RICH ARAB would buy Bates out

We only actually spent 100k on Lonergan - Preston turned down 250k, asked for a load more, then it was pointed out he had a 100k release clause so we offered 100k and they had to sell.
Agree0

Not happening - as I documented elsewhere on here Bates has publicly priced the club at £90 million, £20 million more than Liverpool were sold for and they own Anfield.
Agree0

BATES is living in a dream world
Sell Mad Max for virtually nothing (20 + goals a season) no replacement
The sooner Bates gets sectioned the better (the old man is not in the right frame of mind)
And he expects Grayson to get us promoted, where is the cash ?
The sooner you sell up the better

Zac Thompson is a Centre Mid........Ever since saturday he's appeared on Wikipedia as a Centre Mid who can also play right back.
It should be changed to Zac Thompson is an english footballer playing for Leeds United. He's a centre midfielder, however was forced to play at right back for Leeds in his 1st game, as Leeds have no defenders.
He did extremely well at RB, but i hope we don't keep him there. We scouted him as a centre mid so it should stay that way. A lot of people are now just assuming he's a RB.......poor lad

Interesting comments from Simon Grayson on OS. The item starts with a list of injured players "Paddy Kisnorbo... joins Alex Bruce, Tom Lees, Robert Snodgrass, Jonny Howson, Leigh Bromby, and Davide Somma on the absent list." Grayson then goes on to say "As of Thursday morning I had two fit centre backs". Other than Darren O'Dea I couldn't think of any other CB in the squad. If he's referring to O'Brien, then it may be the case that he is fit, but he is refusing to play for Leeds - so by my reckoning we have ONE fit CB able to play. I know the Arsenal game is a 'bonus', but surely we have to sign a CB today or over the weekend to avoid an embarrassment on Monday night!
Believable8
Unbelievable3
Agree mate 100%. We won't though, and the worrying thing is, we have gone extremely quite on the transfer front compared with other clubs. Im sick of going onto the transfer centre on Sky Sports and clicking on Leeds and seeing "Grayson delighted to bag Pugh"!
Agree7

I think he means lees is back fit from concussion along with o'dea, just them two fit, would love a new cb signed, a good one at that!
STW
Agree2
Disagree0
He obviously means Tom Lees.
By the way, Monday night's game is of no importance in the big scheme of things. We will have made signings by the next league game, which is what matters.
Agree5
Disagree3
Actually Lees is on that injury list, so its not 'obvious'. He could be on about Gimple.
Agree1
Disagree5
It is obvious. He's on about available centre-backs from the first team squad. Therefore he means Tom Lees. Simples.
Agree4
Disagree1
With Lees on the list (as per my original post) and Grayson also stating on the OS that Lees was a "massive doubt" for Arsenal, I actually don't think, as another poster states, that "He obviously means Tom Lees". Perhaps reading the post before replying would be a good idea! Also, whilst the Arsenal game is not make or break, I think an absolute battering (particularly with Thierry Henry now likely to start) could negatively effect team confidence going into the next league game - especially as we did so well down there last season.
Agree1
Disagree3
He means Tom Lees. SG doesn't consider Gimpel as an option at the moment. Perhaps thinking about the situation before posting would be a good idea!!
