we need someone like scotty parker in midfield

Believable9 Unbelievable3

The creative force that is Scott Parker... nah. he'd be an improvement on what we have, but still isn't the type of player we need. it'd be a generous luxury to have him. but probably expensive.

Agree6 Disagree1

No we don't need anymore battlers got enough with Austin brown Norris green . we need a creator a conductor of the orchestra someone who can unlock a defence with a bit of magic .....id like to see someone like nuri sahin playing deep I know we can't get him obviously but someone of that ilk Karl mot

Guys, how about we post real rumours NOT things we've made up just to get on here!! FACT is no-one really knows Warnocks mind we'll get what we get

Believable14 Unbelievable0

Now thats a fact

Agree2 Disagree0

Not a rumour but what about pope the striker from port vale banging em in at the moment and from what I hear a very good player . would come I think on the cheap(ish) and be hungry for success Karl mot

06 Jan 2013 20:21:29
Warnock, hopefully watched Mansfield v Loserpool today, wonder what he thought of Matt Green, Mansfield striker with pace and strength. Raw talent with a hunger for bigger and better things....anyone agree?

Believable9 Unbelievable7

06 Jan 2013 18:00:04
I wish you lot would stop harping on about getting rid of Michael Brown!! He's doing a great job for us and his commitment is second to none. Sorry but you all need to start watching leeds rather than jumping on the bandwagon. You make yourselves look stupid. M.O.T
Lee

Believable16 Unbelievable34

I do watch Leeds and he is always one of the players who is on the edge, your waiting for him to f... Up and he usually does. As for the disadvantage he puts us at due to his complete lack of pace, poor tackling, useless tactical awareness and numb passing, the crap results and performances we gain when he is in the team speak for themselves.

Agree25 Disagree8

Hi mate, he could do the business 5 -10 years ago but not know mate. He is committed yes I agree but he hasnt got the legs any more. He doesn t react quick enough and sems to be where most errors come from.
Sinny.

Agree17 Disagree2

I feel brown is an average player who is probably getting slightly too much game time considering he is not a game changer however he is brilliant at annoying the opposition and yeah he is quite strong but normally he would get booked which is something he needs to work on other than that he is just a poser walking around like Liam Gallagher or something

Agree13 Disagree0

Original Poster pal, you should of gone to specsavers

TeejLUFC

Agree6 Disagree3

Gotta agree with the original comment. I think brown is doing a good job but is probably playing to much. We clearly miss tonge hopefully we'll have him back soon

Agree4 Disagree6

06 Jan 2013 20:49:49
Brown is doing an ok job but should really only be used for last 20 + mins

Agree2 Disagree3

Original poster here, I stick by what I said, he's done nothing wrong for me and is better than most of our midfielders

Agree2 Disagree7

Brown however is not the problem, he would be a good player to bring on in the last few minutes. we need some quality to thread some balls to our attackers

Agree4 Disagree1

GET REAL!!! Brown is a waste of wages, him and Gray are taking up wages that could be better spent. What are we the salvation army for Warnocks has beens. I think are scouting is shocking. I think Shaun Harvey couldn't organise a p=ss up in a pub. Sick of hearing, it's in Harvey's hands. Whats in his hands, his d==k!
Why we are not hearing about the cr=p players leaving that do not get a look in, is melting my head.
I thought things where ment to get better. I guess until Bates's is wiped from the history books nothing will change. BAD HABBITS, DIE HARD!!
BARMY ARMY!!!
mot4life

Agree7 Disagree2

Brown is simply not good enough to old slow and a liability . a potential red card every match . argues and moans none stop . lets end the talk about him there Karl mot

Agree9 Disagree3

Lack of pace? he isnt as slow as everyone says i remember on saturday a certain Nathan Redmond was 30 yards ahead of him running at tate 1 on 1 and this really slow micheal brown catching him up so how slow does that make Redmond? i thought he had a reputation for being quick how stupid am i? Then putting in a brilliant tackle as he so often does. He has been our best player in the recent shocking team performances. As for living on the edge and waiting for him to **** up 'as he so often does' when was the last time he did? name me one mistake he has made this season? I can't remember despite being at every single game..

Agree2 Disagree3

I will guarantee that if we dropped brown then our defence will shed loads more goal, you lot of doubters need to get behind our players and stop expecting the impossible or just go support Man Utd!!

Any truth in rumour Niel redfearn going to Barnsley as
assistant manager . Any comments ed {Ed013's Note - I heard this the other day, but cant confirm. If so I believe Naylor will take his role}

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Well O'Driscoll has turned down the position as manager so who would he be working under?

OUT
Pugh
Nunez
Connolly
Rachubka
Dury
Kisnorbo
Varney
Brown
Gray
Bromby
Rogers
Dont go after Tongue
Dont go after Tate after loan expiry

Let them all go regardless of the cost of cancelling there contracts. Bite your tongue, wash your hands and move on.

IN
Involve Alex Cairns in the Goalkeeper rotation ie cup matches etc.
Promote Gimpel from the junior set up.
Bring Zac Thompson back in from his loan.
Lewis McGugan
George Boyd
Alessandro Faurlin
Jerome Thomas

IDEAS
Keep giving Ryan Hall game time from the bench, (I believe he has the ability, people take time to adjust)
Give Domonic Poleon more game time from the bench. Hes got pace. His confidence will be sky high if everytime he plays hes up against tired legs.
Dont be afraid to use Rossco in the middle of the park.He has the ability and can pick out a lovely pass.
4 good additions, (Mcgugan, Boyd, Faurlin, Thomas) add flair and technical ability which is needed as we dont have players who can control and lay off a good pass if they are under pressure from the opposition apart from Ross and Diouf.
The youth players (Thompson, Gimpel, Poleon, Cairns)get game time to make them stronger for next season. If they are making the grade then great, if not get rid at the end of the season.
Establish what the hell Warnock is doing next year???if hes staying so be it, if not, at least the younger lads have gained some experience and at least we are not stuck with a load of journey men who the next manager will struggle to offload next year.

Players out 12, players in 8 "ish"
Streamline squad, shift the crap and bring in youth.
If Warnock wont sign get to know NOW, then bring in Poyet or Di Canio.

Ha, whaddabouddatden??

Believable29 Unbelievable7

Sounds great mate but easier said than done we been trying t get rid of alot of those players for some time now. The problem is nobody wants them which speaks volumes. I think we need to make the signings u suggested or similar but I do think we r stuck with certain players till their respective contracts end.a few freshfaces an in my opinion we will give this league a good go but all us fans need t get behind the team apacked e r every wk would b just as good as any new player mot for life!!

Agree9 Disagree0

Yes mate definitely, a packed Elland Road would help, only 11 thousand there last night but when people decided to sing it was still loud as fook. To get higher gates we would prob need, new players, consistent results and better football. A good promotion push playing good football with new signings with some real momemtum would make for a very interseting next season even withoutgoing up.

Warnock not to sign a CM as he thinks Micheal Brown is good enough for the championship

Believable3 Unbelievable18

He was shocking AGAIN, last night.

Agree8 Disagree3

NW regards Brown as his midfield destroyer, so he plays him from the start in big games (disastrous) or brings him on to hang on to a lead (disastrous). We only need a striker to challenge Becchio so NW says - What?
Warnock is a dinosaur and needs to go NOW. KB's end game was to employ NW as a parting shot to continue the cancer at LUFc.

We ain't going nowhere under Warnock and never will. You can't teach an old dog new tricks. It will be hoof ball all the way and the fact that our training ground has been closed doesn't worry me, just hoof it up to Becchio. We ain't never going to play attractive footy under him so until we get a manager who will get us young hungry, inspiring players, we will never be a joy to watch.

Believable12 Unbelievable10

Only 2 points of play offfffs. aint going nowhere are we mate.

06 Jan 2013 14:56:13
So the headlines read that Warnock inspired us to draw with his half time changes. Anyone could see that both Ryan Hall & Aidy White were shocking and we needed both Dioufy & Byram to inspire us. Jeez if the assistant manager needs to be told this by Warnock who is not even at the game then god help us. I ain't done no coaching badges but it's plain to see what needs to happen in our team.

Believable14 Unbelievable4

06 Jan 2013 14:32:55
the crowds are down because we play Hoofball, all our midfield are runners and tacklers, some are very slow runners, some are so slow they tackle players who don't have the ball, if you where a defender in this team would you pass it to one of our midfielders, ide hoof it up the pitch as well at least it would take a little bit longer to come back

Believable11 Unbelievable2

Crowds are down because of the $$$ it costs to go and the lack of $$$ we are spending on the team!

I bet they all come running from hibernation if we get past Brum in the cup though!

Jerome Thomas played 45 minutes yesterday and is now injured (currently being assessed) lets use this opportunity to look at someone younger and better.

Believable9 Unbelievable2

some observations:

1) i hope we don't go in for CMS - easily brighton's worst player against newcastle, and not that highly regarded down there (except when they play us). An in-form rossco would keep him on the bench and i'd rather spend any money on central midfielders/wingers. Although it'd probably be worth buying him just so he can't play against us when they come up here.

2) If paddy kenny could roll the ball out to our defence at least 50% of the time, instead of booting it up the field/out of play I think we'd be more likely to pass it around a bit.

3) why haven't we tied down Michael Tonge yet? we've not been the same without him and you would have thought we could at least extend his loan. He might not be the marquee signing we're looking for but he's not expensive and he wants to play for us. Michael Brown has been surprisingly OK for us but he's not creative, not a passer and is a massive liability with his challenges/referee backchat.

4) Play Pearce and Lees as CBs and stick to it. They're young, hungry and pretty decent for this league. If we don't go up this year then we'll have a solid defensive partnership there for next year.

5) Warnock made a big mistake making Peltier captain when he shouldn't really even be starting every week

6) Not sure we need too many new signings but Warnock needs to work out his best team, get more out of them and sort out some actual proper tactics/playing style other than long balls to becchio

Neil's assistant jones has stated they should be getting someone in before Barnsley, he has also said GFH are prepared to pay over the odds as they know clubs will be inflating their prices due to the takeover. Jones also stated they have received full backing by the board and neil and himself feel 3 Or 4 quality players should be in the end of jan looks like we could be seeing good things come for leeds and we could definitely push for promotion. Also can I just say how passionate David haigh seems from the pictures I've seen

Sure new owners are no persons and realise that we are in with a good chance of promotion to the prommised land. Providing we make the right additions to the squad make no mistake they will realise how lucky we are to be in with a chance this season. We do need real quality though in all positions

Believable10 Unbelievable0

06 Jan 2013 11:55:03
Give Warnock a chance lads. I reckon this has been what it's like for him since he took over.

Warnock takes over and is asked to deliver us to the promised land and fulfill his dream of record breaking promotions.
A couple of weeks into the job he realises half the team are quite decent, the rest are shocking and should be paying Leeds Utd for wearing the shirt, instead of the other way around.
So NW goes to see Ken Bates CBE (Captain Birds Eye) and say's "This squad you've got. Some are decent but most of them are carp".
KB says "Yes I know. Don't worry. Here's a blank cheque book. Use it in the summer..............don't go mad with it".

The poor fans are then subjected to a few months of Keystone Cops football before finally at long last, Summer arrives.

Warnock asks security to escort the end of contract guys off the property to ensure they are definitely gone. Allowing them to masquerade as footballers at some other poor unsuspecting club and allowing Warnock to hose down the changing room and get rid of any bad smell they may have left behind.
As soon as NW's finished the changing rooms he's straight on the phone to Portsmouth
"Hi it's Neil Warnock here. I want to buy Jason Pearce"
Portsmouth guy "He's our best player, an excellent solid defender. We value him at around 1 million pounds"
NW "I'll give you 500k"
Portsmouth guy "No way. he's worth much more than that......erm...erm...OK...it's a deal"
2 weeks later "Hi it's Neil Warnock, I'm interested in Joel Ward"
Portsmouth guy "He's 400k...no deals...others are interested...do you want him?"
Warnock "Yes"
.....a week later.....
"Hi! It's Neil Warnock here. We agreed to buy Joel Ward. Spoke to him, cracking lad, loved the place. He'll be a fine addition to our team"
Portsmouth guy "He's going to cost 400k"
Warnock "Yes i know. I gave your guy a cheque last week"
Porstmouth guy " It bounced"
Warnock "There must be some mistake"
Portsmouth guy "No mistake. Bank said it was cancelled by a guy in a Colonel Sanders fancy dress costume"
So Warnock goes to see KB.
Warnock "Mr Chairman we have a problem. The cheque i wrote for Joel Ward bounced"
KB "Must be something wrong with the cheque book. Let's have a look at it"
Warnock" Can you see anything wrong with it"
KB "Wrong with what"
Warnock "The cheque book i just gave you"
KB "What cheque book"
Warnock"???"
KB " I'm glad your here Neil. Larry Grayson from Uddersfield has been on the dog & bone. He wants to buy Clayton"
Warnock "What! Clayton's one of my best players!! Well i hope you told him where to go"
KB "I did.....I told Clayton he's not in your plans for next season and he should go down to Uddersfax and sign"
Warnock "WHAT!!"
KB "Don't worry Neil. We've still got Michael Brown & i already have somebody else lined for you to talk to. A guy called jihad jeff"
Warnock "Please tell me you don't mean El Hadji Diouf "
KB "That's the fellow"
Warnock "What! Your not serious. I've called him a sewer rat. He's called me a big sh[t & our leading striker can't stand him"
KB "Your meeting him tomorrow, try to convince him to come because he meets our budget"
Warnock "How much is he"
KB "He's free. Shan't keep you any longer Neil. You've a squad to build remember"
Warnock "Can I have the cheque book back please"
KB "............."

11, 447 FA CUP Home crowd against Birmingham and the match wasnt even televised live to understand the reason why fans stayed away. I think the club needs a big signing this transfer window to show ambition because I fear fans are already switching off from the lack of achievement of the team and perhaps lack of ambition by GFH. No signings will simply indicate that the management are simply waiting to see what happens this season and the fans will equally respond by remaining at home waiting to see what happens. GFH better take the initiative or risk losing what they took so long to get hold of. Need a quality signing guys...big hitter coming in

in my opinion it should be:

ins:
matt ritchie (swindon)
curt davies (birmingham)
maybe a punt for djouro or koscielny? (arsenal)
nile ranger (newcastle)
george boyd (peterborough)
liam sercombe (exeter city)
jordan moore taylor (18 year old lb from Exeter city)

outs:
Luke varney
nunez
leigh bromby
danny pugh
andy grayrealistic i think... what you think ed? some good experience and some youth... {Ed013's Note - Agree with the outs and some of the ins would be interesting. We need pace up front and someone that can run the midfield, hold the ball and pass it forward}

I agree that yesterday's performance was below par shall we say. But I was just reading the match report from bbc sport and I drew a few positives. It said we desperately needed creativity. (What a surprise). But the introduction of Byram and EHD provided that. So we do have creativity available but maybe we just need a bit more quality.

06 Jan 2013 10:38:30
You have to look simply at our woeful midfield for poor performances and results this season. Any 'Brighton-style' play consists heavily on the midfielders getting on the ball, and seeking out a pass. Our midfielders are so poor that our defence decides to miss out the middle man, hoof the ball past them to Becchio, and hope for a fortunate bounce/flick on. Set pieces and penalties have been where the majority of point have been won this season, and that cannot be the philosiphy NW wants to adhere to surely. IMO Norris is a worthy sub, he has an eye for goal and can occasionaly get the ball down, Austin could be a starter, but seriously need to stop giving the ball away so easily. As for the rest; Varney, Green, Brown, White, Hall... They all look shocking and need to go. If we sold all 5, which would not impact the team that much, we could free up extra-noninvested-funds for a quality midfielder or 2. If that were to happen NW would have more money to use on a ST and LB instead of having the spread the money across a poor sqaud. Just my opinion.
RyanMOT

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Green is good

Agree5 Disagree1

OP, so Norris is a sub, Austin a maybe starter, and you suggest one or two quality midfielders. Still leaves a very thin midfield, don't you think? Even if we went with 4-3-3 at home (unlikely) the midfield would be lightweight. We would need super-quality midfield additions to make that work, and I don't think GFH will be shelling out for Faurlin and a Faurlin clone to make that work.
Agree with 2nd poster - Green is good, in fact he is our only box to box player. The hardest working player we have.

Agree3 Disagree0

For the first time in a long long time we have money to spend
Most managers attempt to play the pass and move game. Not ours. He prefers hoof hoof hurry.
The players he has bought this far mainly are only capable of hoof ball.
I'm sorry, nothing warnock has done, in the last 12 months has convinced me he is capable of managing another team to promotion.
He has to go

Believable27 Unbelievable9

I think his signings are looking positively ropey, defenders are too slow, midfield with no creativity and jesus, Ryan Hall yesterday looked like the biggest piece of crap since... Well, Luke Varney! Not looking good!

Agree6 Disagree1

I tend to think Warnock will be replaced in the summer, and some REAL spending will take place, unless Warnock manages to get this team promoted - something looking less likely at the moment.

Fortunately we have two relatively easy teams to play next and the game against Middlesborough has been postponed, so we SHOULD move up a couple of league places.

Even if Warnock does manage to get us up, though, I can't see him being around next season. We get rid of him now we would have to pay compensation?

Agree2 Disagree1

I agree warnock hasnt shown us any promotion potential. But i disagree on the players side of things, i thing some of the players he has brought in are very good players within a different system, and the system in use now is whats dampening their play, for example, norris, who can be a really good player, and paul green, who hasnt really shown his best.

Agree4 Disagree1

I personally would like to see david o"leary back in charge of whites

Agree2 Disagree5

By 'different system' do you mean playing the players in the correct positions? I'm all for that - what is in NW's head? I'm at a loss. Obviously there will be [Disagree] hits with your comment on DO'L, but I wouldn't mind him (or Radebe) as a coach to the defenders, they are both quality in that respect.
