couldnt believe who got man of match must of been watching different game bit like ref with no arsenal bookings early on.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

06 Jan 2020 23:30:53
Totally. Couldn’t believe it, as Berra and White, and sometimes Ayling, had him in the back pocket for so much of that game. Strange choice!

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 23:07:43
Radz do everyone concerned with Leeds a huge favour and buy the team a late Xmas prezzy . Spend some money man, Patrick can't do it all on his own, surely you know this deep down . He was top tonight but again lack of goals has to be addressed . We don't want a league 1 19 year old, a recognized striker is badly needed to shoulder the burden with Paddy .

Believable2 Unbelievable0

06 Jan 2020 23:18:18
Who would you like then Chris?

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 23:26:28
I genuinely don't know corky but what I do know is that Victor gets paid an awful lot to know . My head would say Vydra knows this league and can score, still young enough to do a proper job, who knows bubs could turn him into a great striker . But we can't continue with just Patrick, we do need other quality options, bamford ran himself ragged tonight, surely the big chiefs know Februarys 7 tough games probably will define the season and to pin it all on Paddy is totally unreasonable .

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 23:46:04
To add to Bamford
. Leeds should have signed 2 strikers Eddie and one other last summer ( or Eddie and kept Roofe)

. then there would have been much less need to search (forlornly) in the more difficult January transfer window.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2020 00:23:44
I'd prefer a #10. Yes we need cover for Bam, but not many about who can put in his work rate and score more than he does.
If there is someone who fits the bill let's get him but I don't know who.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2020 00:24:25
Why don’t you buy him one Chris?

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2020 01:09:39
Chris Wood, Kemar Roofe . oops we sold them.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2020 03:06:57
Roofe ran his contract down what do you want us to do if he wanted a fresh challenge kidnap him?

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jan 2020 06:41:33
Yeah if Roofe wanted out this season ok let him go.

. but if he would have been happy to play this season then leave on a free at the end if it I would have kept him . the cheap fee received of £6 million is small change to premiership promotion money

Bottom line we have just one strikee which is utterly ridiculous situation.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jan 2020 07:39:27
Chris doesn’t own the football club though does he Martyn. I’m sure if he did and was worth £550million he would buy a striker. The question is why doesn’t our actual owner do it?

Agree2 Disagree0

07 Jan 2020 09:14:00
well said alf

it ain't chris's job to get us promoted. its rads job. our job is to want the best for our club.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2020 13:24:52
Cheers lads thanks for that, but I think we should all just let Martyn off, as he is clearly far too clever for an awful lot of us on here, His razor sharp sarcasm is far too advanced for me so I bow to his aura on this forum .

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2020 17:14:19
shut up chris and buy us a forward. if you really were leeds you would!

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2020 18:07:49
Coming straight up bermo 😂😂😂😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2020 18:53:14
cheers and any spare change i would love a centre back over 6'4 with a boot in his head. cheers mate jan sales and all that so you should be able to get both.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 23:03:46
Thought the lads did really well tonight and deserved a draw but glad we did not, promotion priority. Meslier looks well capable, assured and stepped up and can be proud. Gotts competed well against some big lads who got a bit nasty in second half. If we could only finish a tenth of the chances we create we would never use. Defence did well against one of the top strikers in PL. Well pleased with that showing just wish Bam would show more passion, maybe just how he is. Ozil never got on the ball first half thanks to KP. Bet Arteta was fuming at half time. Xhaka should have been off in first half the amount of fouls he did, how he never got booked is beyond me.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

06 Jan 2020 23:02:22
Good match deserved a draw
You should be in prem one of the big clubs.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

07 Jan 2020 00:13:13

No more meaningless games until we are back please.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2020 00:25:48
You should be in the prem?

Agree2 Disagree0

07 Jan 2020 07:45:36
Cheers gianfranco.

Rare to get compliments from Chelsea fans on here! Hopefully we will see you next year.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2020 09:15:53
Hopefully mate I like the big clubs in the prem nothing worse than going to Bournemouth at 12.30 on a Saturday.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2020 14:08:26
THANK YOU gracious
Gianfranco Zola Chelsea fan.

. cheers you want' big club ' Leeds United in the premiership

. yet we have BW the Milwall Fan on here with his pearls of wisdom bs comment ' that noone outside Leeds thinks Leeds is a big club ' and he also laughably thinks Leeds is a ' smaall club' and that Derby were Champions of Europe.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2020 17:18:30
i apologised about derby my mistake

chealsea have a history and rivaily with leeds. also had many liverpool fans on twitter saying back where we belong. i think many think we have an maaizng fan base. we do. many think we are a prem league club/ sleeping giant. we are

however a big club. on what evidence. we ain't done nothing but fail. get relegated and sell our best players for a pittance for 15 years

time to stop talking about being a big club and start acting like one

times change bornmoth, burnley are the new big clubs and let's remember a lis of prem teams since we left

huddeslfield, wigan, blackpool and yes derby. the list goes on and it is embarrasing we need prem football. at the moment the biggest team in yorkshire is sheff utd and we need to change that on the pitch not in the stands.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2020 18:49:55
The thing is BW . being in. the Premiership ( which in reality is the old Div 1 with extra money . ) does NOT necessarily make you a big team . the likes of Bournemouth, Brighton, Watford, Palace, Norwich, Burnley, Norwich Sheff Utd even Leicester 2016 champions etc are not big clubs . and Leeds are bigger than all of them
Huddersfield, Wigan Blackpool? Seriously Come on BW do us favour

Agree on one thing though BW its more than time Leeds got their act together and get promoted. which is why last season golden opportunity mess up was so galling.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2020 19:08:12
# ' . being in the Premiership does not necessarily make you a big club'

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - your right BV, but what it does do is attract better players to the club and the money to actually buy them, leeds are a big club with a great fan base and history..

07 Jan 2020 19:43:06
Cheers Ed025 and fully agree.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2020 21:49:05
my point is if we are a big club we need to get up otherwise what are we? a club that did ok 60 (yes 60) years ago with a big fan base

everything is measured on success. nothing else. woolworths was a big shop but i wouldn't work there now. gary glitter sold a lot of records but i'd rather duet with ollie murrs. leeds was a big club but players would rather play for norwich, sheff utd etc and we have to be honest a lot of tin pot clubs such as blackpool and wigan have been a successful top flight club since we have been floundering in the wildness.

if we don't want to be just a club with nothing but a great fan base and memories of a team who played in black and white telly. we need to go up. then we can be the big club we are.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 22:57:54
young keeper looked a lot safer and good feet . and young sub . pity we dint get 2/ 3 in first half . play like that rest of season will smash it.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

06 Jan 2020 22:51:53
More than happy with that. What did MB refer to this particular match as the other day - an official engagement that we must fulfil - or words to that effect?

Doubt he's bothered we've been narrowly beaten by a scuffed goal. We outplayed them in the first half and showed a big tv audience what we are about. Yes, same old issue with poor finishing and if Radz isn't convinced to spend a bit now he never will be.

We need that number 10 to replace Saiz and a finisher striker and we will put our Championship rivals to bed once and for all. But we can do without the Cup and preparing for an away trip to Bournemouth.

How good to see Arteta desperate to win at the end and his team and the ball boys time wasting! How Leeds is it to see a player like Xhaki get away with at least 4 yellow card offences against us - three fouls and a blatant dive - and if it had been Berardi that kicked out at Lacazette I think we know what the outcome would have been! And that decision - taken by VAR - has set the Spurs fans off on one because of the Son decision!

Crikey - we might even get some sympathy! So, SW next and MB, please stop playing Alioski further forward till you've explained the offside rule to him and please tell Bamford to tone his 'weird confidence' (as Cooper put it) down and pass instead of trying speculative shots when a team mate is in a better position to score. On On On.

06 Jan 2020 22:20:27
Didn’t see the game because I was enjoying a 50% off your food bill at Blackhouse steak restaurant but from what I heard on the radio on the way home Gotts played really well. Great to hear and hope he has some positive part to play in the rest of the season for us.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

06 Jan 2020 22:27:34
He certainly wasn’t daunted by the task, Alf, but still has a lot of work to do to displace any of the current starters, imo. He will be pure class someday very soon!
Wanna see Shacks fit soon tho. Oh, and Jordan Stevens looked comfortable when he came on too. All looks good to me!

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 22:44:31
Keeper looked more than comfortable with ball and wasn’t fazed at all. All good imo. 👍⚽️⚽️😀.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 22:45:56
keeper looked very good with ball at feet and made good saves

gotts very good but missed a good chance

stevens looked good nice touches and decent skill.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 22:48:21
What shocked me was how fast Steven's seemed as he sprinted past Costa.
Costa would have been slower as he had the ball but Dtevens made him look like he still.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 22:54:42
gotts only one thing no pace got found out chasing back . bit like was it dawes or dawson a young lad about 5 yrs ago.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jan 2020 09:16:48
oh my god that was true and was made even more obvious by having KP next to him as KP even slower. last night did show kilch quality though desipte having no pace alongside him. he run the first half. won balls. covered ground. made passes and offered support.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 22:02:16
well one thing learnt tonight. we don't need a loan keeper. the one we already have is perfect for us

a big loan defener on the other hand.?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

06 Jan 2020 22:11:20
He looks decent doesn’t he.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 22:12:36
Yes Meislier impressed . with his distribution in particular and his shot stopping. looked composed fir a young lad.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 22:16:18
With his passing play him at 10.
Will be good in the box too!

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 22:17:42
He’s looked very capable for the 23’s every time I’ve watched them online. He was excellent tonight. Plus, believe Berra proved that we don’t need another CB, and on top of that, I’d also trust Cresswell and Casey to do a job. AMF to back up Pabs, and another striker are the priorities imo.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 22:47:55
berra proved nothing

four corners three free headers proves everything needed

made one great block but also could of gave away a pen, one early low high ball caught him out, plus he has this awful habbit of backig into box before making the tackle making a foul a pen

we need a cb more than arteta needs a hair cut or a hat.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 23:36:37
Watch the corners again. They are individually tasked to mark a player; we do not zonally mark. The free headers? Only one was Berra at fault.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2020 09:10:50
bright do you not see how silly your comment is?

individually asked to mark a player. berra only at fault for one. only one went to his man. so he was at fault 100% of the time. he had one job to do from a corner and he failed

same with KP who only had one corner to deal with and lost his man horribly

not sure who the other corner was but again not good enough

only bamford followed up by white dealt with a high ball last night

how you can stick up for any player other than bamford when it comes to high balls is beyound me.100% faiulre is sackable offence in most jobs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Berm. I know Berra is your current pet hate, so we know you’re only going to see the negatives in everything. Cliche statements agogo, and the use of the word silly, immediately sets my spikes up. So read again, then see the slackness of your response, yet again. Not going to bite at dullness.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is Costa a definitely loan to buy or can we pull out of the deal
Showed very little
Proud leeds fan tonight, immense performance, keeper looks assured, but it's the same debate, is Bamford a goalscorer
MOT.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

06 Jan 2020 22:15:32
Indeed we need at least 2 clinical goalscorers but we don't have even one . it means we may not be promoted again.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 22:17:13
That's because he spent most of the game on the bench.
When he came on he couldn't run because he kept getting kicked. Well that's what I saw. Crap ref didnt.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 23:53:14
Canada - I'd agree that Costa did seem to be fouled frequently when on the break, not that the ref noticed. Part of a very poor game from Taylor, seemed to buy numerous dives from Arsenal, especially near our box - you could see their players smiling and laughing to each other that they'd managed to con the ref again - even the commentators picked upon the minimal contact on a number of occasions. Most notable was his failure to even book Xhaka despite numerous poor challenges - again picked up by the commentators, who even said he was lucky still to be on the pitch - whereas Klich was booked after just the one foul. It seems also that Lacazette should have been sent off after kicking out late on.

All that said, happy to go out of the cup having given a good account of ourselves and, thanks to the 'Wall progressing, effectively be presented with a winter break at the end of the month. That would seem to be perfectly timed for a recharging of collective batteries, recovery for Pabs and Tyro and hopefully an intensive Bieslafication of a couple of new signings so we're ready to go again in what looks like an incredibly tough February - especially with the Smoggies and Reading finding some good form of late.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2020 20:49:46
Costa will come good going forward. My biggest concern is his his ability to defend; he gives away too many needless little fouls. Harrison and Alioski (when on the wing) , do this much less.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 21:57:52
Loads of positives tonight.

We certainly have a goalkeeper who can step up, we can play through a premiership team at will and to be honest none of us would wish for a cup run over our premier league ambitions.

Once again Berardi continues to prove me wrong, all in all very proud of the lads.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

06 Jan 2020 22:00:24
Class agreed mate a fine Goalkeeper,

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 22:01:45
No Berardi was poor. Never saw him kick the crap out of dirty Xhaka.
I wish someone had.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 22:02:51
My MOTM again tonight was Berra, just ahead of Meslier, and Harrison. Berra is clearly learning. Solid!

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 22:12:12
Xhaka what a .

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 21:55:45
If you don't take your chances you don't win. Bamford at fault in front of goal - not scoring when he should not playing Klitch in when he could.

Similar to the West Brom game when he should have played Klitch in for a tap in. His overall play was generally good but he's woeful in the box. We need a hold up player who knows where the goal is and can score. Easier said than done.

We look good when Bamford plays but we are getting results by the odd goal when we should be putting three and four away. Similar to last season. Hope our luck doesn't desert us and we start losing games by the odd goal. Very similar to last season.

Hope it doesn't go the same way. Entertaining game and we can now concentrate on the league.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Jan 2020 22:06:13
Harrison missed two, Gotts missed two, Ayling missed two, Klich had one saved, several others had shots, or attempts blocked? The responsibility for scoring, doesn’t just fall to one man. How many has our defence scored from set pieces this season? Not enough. So the problem is all over the park, not just BamBam.
Great performance tonight, all over the pitch.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 22:15:39
Agree Bright, getting pixxed off with Bamford getting the blame once again, if you get a striker that scores 20 a season you would be happy, he's half way there, leave him alone. We are a much better team with him there, go asos should be spread between the team and a striker get 20, you can't ask much more😡😡😡😡😡😡.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 21:54:36

Canada. yawn .

. even aside from my only typo ( it is obviously meant to state ' being''. the gist of my point is very clear. enough . we didn't take our chances again . thanks Canada.

Agree0 Disagree0

Your point was clear but go to bed if you are tired .

All good natured.

06 Jan 2020 22:35:07
Yeah Canada but at least ( try and) have funny clever witty banter like Notts below which did make me laugh.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 22:31:48

( and Baz. it is just banter. I’ve done some much worse typos in my time, and got ripped! ) 🍻.

Radz would be keen - it would seem likely he'd help shift some shirts in South Korea!

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2020 03:35:14
Lol Clueless .

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 21:46:41
Tonight was great but it there is anything to be negative about is we definitely need a striker come on Radz make it happen please can't you see it make sense. Well done great match.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed047's Note - was a great game mate, will be great to see you back in the Premier League next season

06 Jan 2020 21:52:33
Bamford not good enough for prem, can't even stay onside.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 21:54:38
Thought BamBam was immense tonight. Shots were missed by quite a lot of players. Great performance.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 22:00:54
if there is anything to be negitive to be about it is this

they had four corners. three of them were free headers for the other team. that has already and will cost us more than not having a striker on the bench to change the game

so easy to fix. so annoying to watch. so easy to score against. thank god arsenal can't head a ball.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 22:09:13
Alioski, Harrison, Gotts and Klich, and Costa were all caught offside too. Think that needs to be mentioned as well. By nature of position, a striker will be offside the most. 🤔.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 22:15:34
Thanks Ed I certainly hope so.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed047's Note - me too Alf, you’ll be a breath of fresh air.

Arsene Wenger he didn't see much.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 21:56:22
Plus, why even bother with it? There should be 8 screen around the pitch, so that the ref has easy access to make the decision himself.

Lol Mezzer! “ sorry, I did not see the incident. ” 😂😂😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 22:14:12
Bright that works fine in ice hockey

Odd xhaka could do so much kicking and diving that never got looked at once.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed047's Note - it amazes Arsenal fans too mate

06 Jan 2020 21:16:44
How is Xhaka still on this pitch?
The ref has been so inconsistent with fouls, and diving.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

06 Jan 2020 21:30:12
Dirty Dirty Arsenal.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 21:54:35
Disgraceful. I always taught my players to watch what the Refs decisions are early as it tells you how they interpret the rules. Xhaka kicks the shite out of people and that's Ok but when he gets fouled it's a yellow.
My god Arseholenal can dive too.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jan 2020 22:11:19

well how dissaponting i put on bbc 1 and expect to watch leeds only to see a team in light blue who i assume is man city

how well we play, how good we are. as my wall mates said we would be better in the prem than championship due to our quality and styl. if we go up it bodes well i think

of course they had one corner. of course they lost our man. of course they had a free header. it is and always will be a problem . that said enjoyed the game very much and well done leeds doing us proud.

{Ed047's Note - not bitter then fella🙄

06 Jan 2020 21:58:36
Hahaha. Ed, not bitter at all. Pleased tbf, but they have a far superior squad, and by his reaction, you’d have thought they’d won the CL.?!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed047's Note - ahh ok then, I think Arteta’s reaction was simply that Arsenal responded to his half time rollicking and turned it around after your great first half.

06 Jan 2020 22:03:08
I think it was a complement to Leeds how delighted Arteta was at the end.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed047's Note - that too cork, you were excellent first half

06 Jan 2020 22:12:53

Spesh mentions for Gotts and Meslier. Robbie not outdone for anything, and Meslier’s distribution has been amazing. Harrison likes it on the right wing, and cutting in. I’d consider doing that in the league too. And how much did Lacazette cost, and is Ozil really on £350k per week. Don’t mind what happens now, we’ve shown what we can do. 🍻🍻🍻.

Expect arsenal to improve 2nd half, can we keep the level of performance up. Got to say we don't look out of place on that pitch with them.

Leeds totally bossed the first half apart from soring . should be 2 or more goals ahead. Harrison, excellent.

{Ed025's Note - absolutely bazooka, great performance by leeds up to now, but they may rue missing those chances mate..

I think we intentionally dropped the pace in the second half, but we did enough in the first half, to take a huge confidence boost out of that! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻.

I don’t like them but. just seen the chelski retro kit ( I assume) for the F. A. Cup against Florest

Mr Radz take note, I’d like to see us in a 1972 retro kit in the final of 2022 for the anniversary of one of our finest days.

One where we weren’t cheated

All together now

Clarke!

I’d rather we were not in it as it’s only more games and a distraction on our ultimate goal.

Not bothered about tonight. Wanna concentrate on league.
Like us not to be spanked though.
I'd be happy with 6-5 or something akin.
Just to show we had them scared. 👍.
