What everyone seems to forget is that woods preferred position from my point of view is a supportive target man, this means he occupies the opposition CB while another striker or attacking midfielder comes into the back and gets an assist or a goal because Woods is believed to be the main threat

(Promoted without buying or selling any players of football manager using this tactic)

Ok let's have your list of players who we want next season to stay and leave? Mine to leave are Bamba woolton.

Leave List

Bamba
Wooton
Bellusci

Sloth
Bianchi
Murphy

Erwin
Antenucci
Doukara

The above list reflects the combo of who I want to leave plus who in all reality will leave even though I might want them to stay

As previously stated we need 7 really good players to replace these 9. 3 central defenders, a left back as cover for Taylor and 3 strikers. Of the 3 strikers different types needed. Out and out, centre forward who can hold the ball up and a withdrawn striker cum attacking midfielder.

Fulfilment of my wishes will cause us to go close in 2017. Over to the Italian.

So 7 new players will cause us to go close next season?
Any particular players in mind or any "seven really good players" will do. Pretty sure most clubs in Championship would like to get "seven really good players"
Back in the real world. A CB, CF with pace and an attacking midfielder/ wide player will do. Its not easy getting rid of players on good contracts and we have a few of them. Just a thought?

George, you say your list includes players who in reality will leave even though you might want them to stay. What about Cook, Taylor and Mowatt then?
Do you think they will still be here next season then? I know a few on here think we may perhaps lose one of them, but I fear they will all go.
I think they'll be looking at their mate Byram and thinking yeah I fancy a bit of that and I want it now!

I believe MC will make a BIG PUSH this summer and Clear House. He will appoint a Proven Manager and splash his cash for Quality Players. I hope!

OUR GREAT FANS DESERVE THAT AT LEAST!

Cook Taylor and Mowatt will be here in August but if no big push in the summer watch them do a Byram next Chrimbo.

I would say bamba and doukara defo have to go. I'd keep Belusci, yes he makes the odd error but our best defender by a mile . I'd also keep Wootton as back up . Sloth has to go but I'd keep antenucci as he's probably the most gifted player we have if the manager can get the best out of him . We need to sign a decent striker, another centre back and a quality 'no 10' in the forristieri kind of bracket. Also possibly another right back . If we secure these players I think we'll be pushing. Not just to be squad players though, all four must be good enough to go straight into the first eleven.

I'd keep Ant Lucy but George said his list was made up of people he wanted to leave and ALSO those who would probably leave. As Ant hasn't been consistently getting game time and his contract is up this season, it looks like he may well be on his way. He may get a good run between now and the end of the season, score a few and sign a new contract which I hope he does, but at the moment it's a bit up in the air.

good point about ant MM, I love him but he has been dissapointing and looked a little dusinterested yet he showed his class the other day and during his time here has shown what a great player he can be. I hope he plays more and stays as I do believe in a wood and ant partenership for next season.

Firstly may I say yipeee for 3 points but at the risk of sounding "glass half empty" there still appeared to be a few players not pulling their weight, which meant that we let a distinctly average team cause us problems at times.
I hope Evans is making a mental note and hope that his after game interview indicated that as soon as the time is right (safety) new young faces WILL be tried.
Bolton was a runout but it is the next two games that will show how we are faring.

4-4-2 at home, more positive, and we score. TWICE!

simple really.

Glad Beradi is back, we look a better side with him in.

If wood is fit then put him in the side big steeevie.

Along side micro, maybe they can cement an understanding and build some scoring momentum for next season.

You are right about 442 especially now we have 2 combative midfielders but Mirco won't be here next season.

there have been a number of games this season when Mirco was not here!

I agree Beradi is a good player and our best RB since Byram left by a long way. But right backs and defenders are not our main concern.
We have little pace and no guile going forward. If we can get a pacey striker and wide player of quality that will make such a difference to the team. Not to mention a keeper who can't command his area. A centre back wouldn't go amiss either although apart from Brighton things were looking better at the back in recent games. BUT will Cellino put his hand in his pocket is the question?

What Wood brings to the team has been obvious is these last few weeks. Wood occupies the opposition centre backs as well as giving the midfield an outlet. We have missed Wood's presence.
Yesterday Coyle made forward runs in 20 minutes than Wootton has in 20 games. Shame Coyle got injured as with him and Taylor getting forward we have a great balance and attacking options.
Disagree about Bellusci and Antenucci they are not crap at all they are just used to playing a different style.
Mirco's goals yesterday were top draw. Bellusci was good but there is a bit to much play acting for my liking.
