I think Bates is keeping to his word, when in charge of Chelsea he said that he would "never rest until Leeds United and it's animal fans are no longer part of the football league" well looks like he is doing his best to make that come true, and the worst part about it is there is nothing any one can do to stop him whilst he controls the club, if this so called take over does not happen before the Watford game at the weekend we can kiss this club bye bye and Bates will walk away leaving us destitute or die trying.

white4ever......

Believable9 Unbelievable3

If you honestly believe he would stick to his guns over a remark made many years ago over 52 million pounds then more fool you and whoever agrees with you

Agree6 Disagree3

That's ridiculous, it's like burning down your house because you don't like your builder!

Agree1 Disagree0

These stupid conspiracys are the reason i fear some our fanbase are turning into petty childern, grow up

Really just wish Warnock would play players in their positions, ok so lees was injured today but white at RB, surely Byram would have a better fit, and play white at LM then tonge/brown at RM

Believable13 Unbelievable0

We need an inspirational manager with something to prove, not an old dinosaur saving for his pension. I think Paolo Di Canio is a perfect fit for Leeds, flair and fight.

06 Nov 2012 23:29:50
ITS NOVEMBER FOR PETE'S SAKE!!! stop all the bloody moaning, the same old '*insert manager* out' people talking garbage yet again, you wanted Warnock and now youre calling for his head, itll be the same old people who shouted 'Sgt. Warnocks Barmy Army' when we won a few games WHAT THE HELL HAS OUR FANBASE TURNED INTO?!!!

Believable6 Unbelievable9

You just keep youre head in the sand.

looks like colins thrown in the towel.
Warnock says he cannot see his side winning a game at the moment after going down to a 1-0 defeat at Burnley.

06 Nov 2012 22:48:31
time for bates and warnock to go,bates is killing us with no finance and warnock killing us with dire football/tactics,we need a new start,we are going backwards,we need this takeover fast cos if not we are screwed, another season under bates and we will be looking down the barrel at lge 1,bates will sell any talent, homegrown or not to finance next season,

Believable8 Unbelievable1

Same old posts, its getting boring now! last year it was Bates and Grayson, now its this!

Two words............. SEASON OVER !

and before anyone says we're gonna do a Reading, get real. When was the last time we won 3 or 4 in a row, I'm guessing when we had 15 pts deduction.
NOT GOOD ENOUGH, VERY AVERAGE..

NW seems clueless on how to change a game! Why no changes till the 80th minute plus!? Garbage utter garbage....old dinosaur playing out of date football. We r dead and buried...doom and gloom yes it is im afraid. Im a realist...we are going no where and the sooner you all realise it the better! We have the lowest number of shots on target in the league , look tired, slow and just about capable of grounding out draws at best! time for change im afraid. Becchio looks utter clueless, what on earth has happened to him! NW signings don't even play (Green and Norris). Shocked and dismayed

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Youre a realist that probably sang warnocks praises when he came in, jumping around for joy and now a few bad results youre wanting him out, its ridiculous

Agree5 Disagree4

Agree m8 except about becchio, if we played with pace and width i don't think there is many better then him at getting his head on it,he has scored vital goals for us over a few seasons now,but i think he's fed up with this long ball crap that we are playing,if he gets the ball to him it's in the air with his back to goal with no or little support.no service equals no goals.

Agree3 Disagree0

It's not only the results but it's the style of play and tactics,i was happy too when we got warnock but it's his team now,all be it with poor financing by mater bates yet again,yet our football now is dire, warnock seems to play too many players out of position,loans out too many better players,for gods sake plays brown which is unbelieveable,cos he's a walking red card,and seems to have no idea other then hoof and hope,it's gotta stop cos we will be in a relegation battle by christmas if not. {Ed003's Note - I'm editing all the sites and this time of year everyone goes mad after a few bad results,I say hold your hat on, you are playing in the best league in the world and nobody knows what will happen next,enjoy the ride and chill.}

Agree2 Disagree4

Enjoy the ride and chill
Sounds lime u would have loved being on the titanic
There's only one thing I like going down and it ain't my football team
Get some balls u lot. Come off the clouds
We are playing rubbish football with mainly rubbish players and a rubbish manager. Life's grand eh!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed the type of football we are playing is not even good enough foe this lge surely you see that, warnock needs to find a different tactic and soon {Ed003's Note - He isn't going to change now is he? this league is going to be tighter than ever this year,it's November! }

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Nov 2012 22:22:28
Might get stick for this but...

I'd rather play good, controlling and comfortable football in the championship an get promoted in 3 years.

Than...

Play Scrappy 1-0, unsatisfing, no-controlling football to get to the prem in a season then struggle.

Who agrees?

Believable6 Unbelievable4

We won't ever get to the prem with that style of football so don't worry.
Also why does Warnock insist on Peltier, hes not good enough. - Would have been better asking Richard Naylor to put his clipboard down and play in the defense in recent games

Agree3 Disagree1

Id rather win, dont care how we get the points

Agree2 Disagree2

Why when have we been winning one nil?

Mmm,running out of anything positive to say now.david haigh has just resurfaced on twitter if anyone's bothered.and no he had nothing interesting to tweet apart from he was very busy.
Could he be busy packing his case to get away from the uk as quick as possible realising that the task of getting Leeds to where they belong is just too great.15 th now in league, very hard games to come.should we start to worry more about staying in this league?.
Does gfh stand for genuine false hopes.
Because that's all we have left now...shrew Leeds
Sorry for negativity but that's how I feel

Believable7 Unbelievable1

I think the clue in David haigh's tweet was the ... After the comment that he's very busy this week. Sounds like its happening this week....but don't hold your breath! We're not as bad as we think we are now, just as we weren't as good as we thought we were earlier in the season. We're only four points off the play offs, with around 30games to go.

Agree1 Disagree4

Too true only thing positive is bates, haigh & patel AKA larry curly & mo.

Agree0 Disagree1

It's just getting ridiculous now,the so called takeover was very near 2 weeks ago ,what's happened to that, think it's the mushroom effect (kept in the dark and fed on s..t).squad is probably worse one I've seen for years and I've supported this team since 1968,no pace,no creativity,no one to pass the ball, need at least 4 very good players to get out of this league if not we are going the other way, warnocks tactics poor and dated

Agree0 Disagree2

06 Nov 2012 22:13:07
The reason our form has dropped off is cos teams have worked out how to play diouf,we are one dimensional simple,is that team better than last season no,we have a manager who thinks Kenny is the best keeper not just in championship but prem and we got him for a snip, what a load of rubbish.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

06 Nov 2012 22:12:33
Nuffs enuff iv been a Leeds fan for over 30 years I do not want to support this manager or chairman any longer the last 10 years have been painfull but this season had been the worst . When I go to a football match I like to watch football not this crap arfter tonight's performance and what's going on of the pitch I don't want to support this club while bates is is charge and warnock us manager
Richie 1979

Believable8 Unbelievable2

Enough is enough mate and i think attendances show this! This is the worst I have felt about the football for years. I can see a tough relegation battle on this current form. Woeful management and Investment has left us in this position....gone backwards form last year. Only downwards with this current set up. Furious!

Agree8 Disagree0

Agree mate warnock and bates out asap

Agree8 Disagree2

^^^ i bet you were one of the Warnock In crew last season

Agree0 Disagree5

Yes but we have gone backwards, Leeds cannot carry on like this

Can everyone calling for warnocks head please tell me who they want as manager and who they would sign
Don't forget to take our budget into consideration
Russ

Believable1 Unbelievable7

Time to let go - he's run out of all the excuses now. They're his players, he spent 2 million, he's had nearly a year and tactically all he knows is 'hit and hope.' Or should that be hit and hopeless?

Agree4 Disagree1

Our budget,he has spent a bit of cash,Pearce 500k,kenny 700k,Peltier 600 or 700k,varney 300k,Austin what was he 350 or 400k and how many of them have improved the squad none,I think ashdown is as good as Kenny given the chance,so I think a few managers would do better with the funds he's had, what about crystal palace have they had massive funds no,and even Grayson at hiddersfield,he's not spent massive money.

Agree1 Disagree1

Candidates:
Eddie Gray
Owen Coyle
Gary McAllister
Gareth Southgate

I think any of them would do the job and play quality football at the same time - McAllister i feel has the right style of football for this league and the next (but not league 1) + he signed Becchio, Snodgrass and Freedman who were all quality signings.

Agree4 Disagree5

06 Nov 2012 23:12:24
I would go for Gray, partly out of sentiment but dont think much to your other choices, wot about Terry Butcher?

Agree0 Disagree4

I'm the original poster and I'm not saying warnock is the answer I'm starting to lose faith myself i agree with the Mcallister shout he plays football the right way but we still need 5-6 decent players that bates won't buy
Palace have a very good youth set up and think you will find Grayson had spent a boatload on clayton Norwood beckford Vaughan scannel
Bates is the problem
Russ

Agree1 Disagree0

Paolo Di Canio. doing a fantastic job at Swindon and he will bring the same flair football he used to play.

Agree2 Disagree1

Karl robinson at mk dons yes ino its a risk but its one worth taking in the long term especially when he his half the age of warnock and got plenty of potential

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Nov 2012 22:08:22
Neil Warnock this Neil Warnock that,I can guarantee you you will never see a Leeds team as bad as this whilst I'm in charge,I think were his words last season, well I would challenge any Neil Warnock fan to argue his defence, last season we scored goals for fun, granted we conceded a few but we had no problem scoring, had it not been for refereeing decisions ie dodgy penalty decisions we would be nearer relegation zone, and don't give me the excuse he's had no money cos varney,Austin,Kenny,Peltier,Pearce all cost money and apart from Austin has any of the other improved the squad no,and Austin is debatable cos I was a clayton fan,and he goes on about his squad not been good enough and his bench not been strong well, varney, norris, gray and green all his signings were on there so come on Warnock lovers give us your excuses.

Believable8 Unbelievable1

Clayton under warnock was terrible, Pearce is a good defender, too quick to jump on the bandwagon

Agree0 Disagree1

I think that Warnock has actually signed some very good players for this division. Pearce/Norris/Kenny/Austin/Diouf/Dury/Varney have all been decent buys; alongside some of the existing players such as Byram White Lees should be the basis of a good team. Problem seems to be that they can't string two decent performances together. They can either be worldbeaters or hopeless-not consistent enough!

Agree1 Disagree3

06 Nov 2012 22:03:27
Let's see what the ratio of agrees/disagrees is this time..

As I've been saying, and getting slated for, for many months

Going nowhere under Warnock

Believable9 Unbelievable8

If he's quick there's a job at Blackpool going, but who would we bring in?

Agree7 Disagree1

Totally agree, ive been saying it along with Shrew leeds too if im correct. Our results have been better than performaces. We will not win games playing like we do and we are worse than last year. NW took from 7th to 16th last season and we'll be there again this season if things carry on. We have barely any shots on goal, we are a slow tempo, poor passing side. Please stop thinking anything else...something has to change drastically! Most depressed ive been about things for years! Mike

Agree2 Disagree1

06 Nov 2012 22:39:46
We have missed the boat with Ollie and Freedman both of which i would have been happy with even big Mick!

Agree2 Disagree0

Holloway should of been the man to replace warlock but too late now

Agree4 Disagree1

06 Nov 2012 22:48:43
I dont like to jump on the "sack the manager" bandwagon too soon but i dont think we are making the most of what we have and the only direction we are going is down, if we were playing decent football and losing, that is one thing but to hit and hope and lose without even trying to play football shows no future and is an insult to the fans.

Agree5 Disagree0

I feel a little for warnock but then any manager who came with our finances would struggle.but neil do yourself a favour and keep saying we were mugged or we played well, cos we havent.if anything we mugged a few teams grtting the odd draw ,barnsley, bolton and brighton come to mind

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Nov 2012 22:00:51
Bates doing what Bates does best. Ripping us all off, no takeover. Time for all of you to wake up and smell the coffee. Bates taking all Leeds fans for a ride. Takeover saga is a shambles, taken too long to be realistic, likely not going to happen now. No invention/ambition/talent in the team. Lost to a poor Burnley team.I fear NW has run out of ideas, no financial support from the tax dodger. Look at the inbreads with our old manager up at the play-offs with minimal extra investment. Dont it just cut to the craw.

Gonna be a long season....

LLHB MOT..Bates out

Believable6 Unbelievable5

06 Nov 2012 21:55:14
More points dropped. Our form dipped very badly when NW took over last season. This season's form is getting worse - last 5 games - 3 draws and 2 losses to teams who won't figure in the promotion push. A lot of poor players in and some very poor players retained. Time running out for NW - talking a good game but our displays are poorer and poorer and the disappointment grows. Time for NW approaching?

Believable8 Unbelievable3

06 Nov 2012 22:04:09
Time running out for Neil Warnock. Leeds fans are not the most patient. With themerry go round we will probably end up with Paul Jewell!

I dont understand either the substitions or the timing of them, why does Green never get on?

Agree7 Disagree0

06 Nov 2012 21:52:42
We need creativity and pace. I pray that this takeover goes through and they actually give us some money otherwise we are screwed.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Why do norris and green not get a chance in the centre?
Brown needs to be replaced. I know he can break up play, but we need the players to pass.

Agree6 Disagree1

06 Nov 2012 21:49:34
You'd think the prospective owners would speed up the takeover before promotion becomes impossible. We are dropping points in every game and drifting down the league. We never really look like beating anybody

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Players need 2 take some blame aswell not just warnock, fair enough i understand neil picks the team but theres very little difference from team thats knocked everton and southampton out of cup, there just isnt the same passion and desire to win in league for some reason.

Agree1 Disagree2

06 Nov 2012 21:47:40
We are simly not good enough. 8 points off relegation now. Warnock needs to do something and fast. We are slipping down the league losing points against teams we should be beating. I fear for our clib at the moment.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Glass is half empty with our fan base, arent we less points off the play-offs?!!

Agree0 Disagree2

06 Nov 2012 21:41:37
FFS 1 - 0 to Burnley.......bottom half of the table now and I'm afraid it's gonna be all downhill from now on :-(

Believable9 Unbelievable2

I agree, it's just not good enough

Agree7 Disagree0

No flair in midfield and no one that can create that little bit of magic. Leeds will grind out results but the big time is a long way off. I will be there Saturday travelling from Birmingham supporting Leeds but things do not look good. Somma and McCormack are still a couple of weeks away from match fitness. The Watford game is a must win now.

Agree5 Disagree0

We need Ross, Hall and Somma back asap, however whether Warnock will play them is another matter... I'm starting to get a bit frustrated with Mr Warnock!

Agree6 Disagree0

Hope brown, tonge & kenny get minor injuries in training and only make the bench. whats the point in signing hall to get cramp in his ar5e.

Agree3 Disagree1

06 Nov 2012 20:32:31
We absolutely need 3 points tonight. If it stays a draw we are 10 points off the top and 5 points off the play offs. We cannot keep losing ground like this.

Believable8 Unbelievable0

Well. . . bad news

Believable7 Unbelievable0

No point in paying his wages 4 him 2 play in reserves, then in next breath uve got warnock saying weve got nothing going forward, give hall a f*****g chance then, this takeover beta go through soon or were guna b in trouble even loyal fans who turn up to evry game r getting fed up now

Which brown will we have I wonder? The thug who gets stuck in, makes runs, passes and controls the midfield. Or the thug?
Anyway my main note is Hall not on the bench. So what happened to this great assister?
We needed someone to change games NOW, not a future talent!

Realistically, is warnick capable of buying flair and creativity. Haven't followed his entire career but all his Leeds signings are er wrestlers.
Think we need to start the grieving process for beccio, time for him to move on
We need 3 players
A defender A quick goal scorer/winger and a creator.
Who can we get for poss $5mil total that will seriously transform this team from tag to promotion.
I think it will take 5 players to make enough difference and quite possibly a younger manager too. Think warnock may have just reached his sell by date. Not his fault age catche's up with you. Hope I'm wrong about warnicks capability in buying well, picking the right team and maying the right way, but hasn't given me any confidence so far.

Believable2 Unbelievable7

Yeah your are wrong you twonk warnock is by far and away the best manager we have had in years given money to spend we would walk this league

Agree4 Disagree3

06 Nov 2012 16:39:59
becchio doesnt need to go anywhere hes great at what he does the problem is we just hit the ball long and hope he can score .we need to be getting better balls into the box or give becchio the ball at his feet so he can bring midfielders into play .we dont really need a new striker but some classy wingers that can produce good crosses.once mccormack comes back we will score more goals from set pieces and becchio will probably be the main target.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Nov 2012 17:43:05
Glad 2 see sumbody who thinks we need a defender.we've only failed 2 score once but not kept many c/sheets

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree amigo, becchio is such a bigger threst when quality balls from the flanks are crossed in.is it just a coincidence that when our better midfielders ie.howson, snodgrass etc were here, becchio was excellent ? We need mccormack back asap, but becchio needs him more. Mrc1919.

Agree2 Disagree0

If Warnock's our best manager in years why are we mid-table despite him having had 2m to spend in the summer? That's the best budget any Leeds manager has had post administration.

Look at Warnock's recent record; other than QPR it's not great. Most of his promotions were two decades ago when his kind of football worked at the lower levels (it's never worked in the premiership which is why he's always been an abject failure in that league). Even in the lower leagues that football rarely works any more which is why passing teams such as Norwich and Southampton have earned back to back promotions and why Grayson came reasonable close to the play offs.

Warnock's tactic of aiming for the front man from keeper/defence is predictable and ineffective and it's painful to watch. We need a modern, forward-thinking manager not a backward thinking has-been.

Agree2 Disagree1

06 Nov 2012 13:09:57
We really need a win tonight but it's midweek so bound to be difficult and Burnley a good side. We seem to be more solid in defence though when Peltier moves in to CB role don't think Lees will play. Play the right tactics NW smash and grab the win.

Believable10 Unbelievable1

This run of games is going to burn out the players if it hasn't already. our squad is too thin to play every 3 or 4 days consistently.

Agree5 Disagree1

06 Nov 2012 12:34:27
Seriously, what the **** is going on with this takeover? I would say, arent we due an update - but the last we heard completion was about three weeks away. Over 3 weeks ago. If nothing, at least it will revive our flagging club/supporter spirit and stir us up till the January window. Has David Haigh gone into hiding? I thought he was our new twitter mate? Booo you... none takeover. Boo!

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Its a utter shambles, whats the hold up now ?

Agree2 Disagree0

They have not got the money other wise bates would have gone by now

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Nov 2012 12:18:49
Why have GFH gone quiet? David Haigh hasn't tweeted for over 5 days. The last update was members of GFH were attending Lloyds TSB in Leeds (Bates Bank) last week. Since then silence. Is it a good sign that they are getting on with business and bringing it to a conclusion or a bad sign that they have run out off patience or ability to conclude the deal?

Believable5 Unbelievable1

I could be wrong, but, did'nt David Haigh tweet early last week, "Last tweet for awhile" ?

Agree4 Disagree0

Haigh did say he won't tweet for a while, but then did do for a few days after that. This time, just silence....

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Nov 2012 19:55:27
Yeah Haigh said it will be his last tweet for a while... Now the only reason why he would say that is to keep his work priveteTo me that indicates that he is working hard on conpleting the deal. It wouldnt be very profession if the TA anouncement is on twitter, Bates would hate that. I would be suprised if he keeps his twitter when he becomes chairman so who knows may the silence is a good thing. Its frustrating but they do say no news is good news.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Nov 2012 11:24:21
with regards to the T/O any bets that we will get the usual 'statement' 24 hours before the home game with Watford to say things are still moving on and nearly there - When is something going to happen - we are a laughing stock, the longest t/o/investment in history of football!!

Reading the Banter posts yesterday, some interesting comments which prompted me to make my first post.
From watching Leeds games so far this season, IMO I believe we are better when we keep the ball on the ground and pass to feet. The long ball style is dreadful to watch and I felt frustrated by this tactic on Friday against Brighton, the amount of times we gave away possession cheaply and our general play was embarrassing. I can understand we
have a small squad and players will be tired and playing with niggles, but why play players out of position and not use better players like Drury for LB. I would be glad to see the back of Luke Varney and Pugh, waste of money big style on these two. I like Warnock and most of the time feel he is best manager we could have at the mo, but how we came away with point last Friday was a miracle. He certainly has the patter to talk a good game even when we play cr#p. C'mon Leeds, LUFC for ever.
