Radomir Antic will be next Leeds United Manager!!!!

Believable6 Unbelievable5

That'll be news to ken bates! I have a strong suspicion that Keith hill will be the choice. Bates referenced barnsley's wage bill when he sacked Grayson,so he knows he can work under tight budgets, and has got teams promoted. He would walk to Leeds if asked I suspect.

Agree0 Disagree9

No thanks. We need someone with experience of managing a club with high expectations.

Agree6 Disagree2

2nd commentor is funny. Check his cv. Think the teams he managed had higher expectations than us

Agree3 Disagree3

Really? Rochdale and Barnsley have higher expectations than Leeds?

Can i have some of what you are on please?

Agree2 Disagree2

Think he means Barca, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, etc...

Agree3 Disagree0

I am the guy who spoke about "high expectations". I don't think it was too difficult to conclude that I was talking about Keith Hill!

Sporting Bet announced today that someone from Maidstone bet £1800 for Bristol City to beat Leeds, wonder how he's feeling right now haha what a fail! {Ed020's Note - i know someone who bet his months wage on man utd to beat blackburn when blackburn won 3-2. theres some crazy people out there}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Thats crazy Ed I hope he was a Man U fan double fail! {Ed020's Note - sure was a double fail!! lol}

Leeds players back on twitter now the ban has been lifted, follow Paul dews to confirm genuine players!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

They have been on twitter since SG left Leeds the genuine players are the following: @Clayts15 @Rosskillock @T_Lees_ @AidanWhite28 @charlietaylor09 @4AlexBruce @MikaVayrynen10 @MikaelForssell @andros_townsend @ZacThompson29 @robbierogers @

Agree1 Disagree0

@lewisturner32 @nathanturner92 and youth player @jordansnodin just joined twitter in last half hour

Agree0 Disagree0

Another 2 youth players @MrPoleon @jmccann92

Agree0 Disagree0

Man this is awsome news, always believed us fans shud av the rite to have some contact with the lads.

Agree1 Disagree2

Agree at makes footballers human and we get to see that they are just normal people not all of them are mercenaries,

However they need to mind that they are role models West Ham new signing Ravel Morrison used the words 'f****t' & 'N*g' in his tweets today really unacceptable & we don't want a Barton situation at Leeds. Player contact is what all fans crave and social media is one way that we can get it great for Leeds fans.

Have to say that the youth players banter is hilarious and very clever get following them they could be future Leeds Legends.

Hi Ed not sure if the examples are ok if they are unacceptable can you edit them please thanks. {Ed020's Note - all is ok :)}

Agree1 Disagree1

Thanks Ed

Agree1 Disagree1

It may be because I'm 42 years of age, and if it is I apologise, but who gives a damn about all this twitter stuff?

Leeds should sign LINCOLN ZVASIYA the next Lucas Radebe.

He is going to be just as good as Radebe.

Believable6 Unbelievable4

The reports on this kid are awesome he is playing for the Kaiser Chiefs like Radebe and he has Radebe old shirt number he is Centre Back that can play Defensive Midfielder, only 20 and has broken into the national team he will be a class player. Potential hard, good terchnique, pace, strength good in the air he has it all!

I would love leeds to sign him!

Warnock odds shortening again. Davies lengthening. Good news

07 Feb 2012 14:03:14
antic last club job was celta vigo who he joined in Jan 2004, they later got relegated and he got sacked....he later vowed never to accept coaching jobs in mid-season again, maybe he forgot!

Johnny Giles new Leeds manager.
Eddie gray assistant.
Redfearn youth coach.
Martyn goalkeeping coach.
Radebe defence coach.

Leeds bought out by there biggest fan Russell Crowe.

LOL

Believable6 Unbelievable3

Leeds should have taken Revies advice and appointed, Giles when he left, think its a bit late now.

Agree8 Disagree1

Johnny Giles is on YEP saying we should get Warnock only man for the job and I agree even though no one like him he will sweat blood to achieve for us!!

So who's everyones prefered choice to take over?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Redfearn for now then review it in the summer

Agree1 Disagree12

Warnock

Agree11 Disagree4

Billy Davies

Agree1 Disagree15

And that is why the Bates can never make the right decision, like I said I want Redfearn however what I really want is promotion so who ever is best suited to get that and who ever the players will play best for will do for me.

Agree3 Disagree2

Darren Ferguson {Ed025's Note - he would be my last choice, on the face of the earth..

Agree2 Disagree8

Darren Ferguson? - after all the fuss over Alan Smith possibly coming back and the comments of not wanting him cos of his conections to Man U someone is actually suggesting we have their managers son as our manager - unbelievable

Never in a million years ( he is also a poor manager lol )

Agree9 Disagree0

Only joking Ed, honest. Just keeping us all on our toes! Impressed with the swift and entirely appropriate response. Cheers {Ed020's Note - haha its what we're here for!!}

Agree2 Disagree1

. . . in fact, at the moment I'm slightly in the Redfearn camp as not too impressed by the line-up of present suspects. NR seems a good guy when interviewed. I can imagine the lads find him a good man to work for.

Agree3 Disagree2

Why should the players have a choice who manages the club ,the only reason there backing Redfearn is because they feel safe,a new manager might come in and get rid of half of them .

Agree6 Disagree0

A happy workforce by and large is a productive one. would you work harder for your boss if he was a decent bloke or a total knob?

Agree2 Disagree0

Players shouldn't have a choice but surely senior professionals should be allowed to give there input some of the squad will have experienced other managers styles, personality and will be able to add there first hand knowledge to the equation. Can you really go wrong with Redfearn for at least the short term given his vast experience in the game, and the squad rate him for his motivation and tactical awareness, connections in the game, he is very intellectual and media capable, and he knows the capability of the youth at our club and the whole current squad. For me its a no brainer.

I see why people want Warnock but that will not be a quick fix because of his contract situation at QPR they will not give him a quick payoff knowing that he is going to get a new job! Billy Davies is inept he had lots of money at forest there chairman invested £100 million of his own money into the team couldn’t get promoted. Dave Jones a repeated failure at Cardiff couldn’t get promoted. Antic has been out of the club game to long and for him it will be another pay check and that’s it 7 years to late for him. Lee Clark failure at Huddersfield how many failed attempts at lg1 promotion.

Agree2 Disagree1

Suprised nobody hasn't metioned brendan rogers to take over at the club im sure he would go down well with most leeds fans

Believable3 Unbelievable3

This is as ridiculous as Paul Lambert, why would premier managers who are doing well drop down a division, why not,Fergie or Wenger?,keep it real bud.

Agree6 Disagree3

rumour has it Coventry are getting taken over so that's another team Leeds will be lagging behind next season if we don't get promoted .come on bates get your sen f***ed off

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Or it could end up being another takeover like Portsmouth or Blackburn (plenty of other examples when takeovers haven't worked)

Any way they are looking to being taken over to avoid going into administration similar to the Peter Ridsdale era!

Agree3 Disagree1

Bates can't just go, someone needs to come in to buy Leeds first.

Agree7 Disagree0

They will still be relegated anyway cos they can't sign anyone till the summer regardless.

Agree1 Disagree1

Relegated are you mad, you watching same leeds as all of us!!!! Would any one on here buy Leeds with the guarantee that 10k people with be slagging you off within months of paying millions out.. it is unbelievable we only went up one and half season ago, cant expect to just jump into premiership, when we get there we need to stay there MOT

Agree3 Disagree0

Coventry will still be relegated.........

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Feb 2012 12:05:31
we will be in a better position points wise than last season if we pick up more than 9 points out of our next 5 games so i don't see why people have been so down maybe Grayson didn't need to be given the sack .

Believable7 Unbelievable5

He did, he has, so move on!

Agree5 Disagree7

Grayson had no idea how to organise a defence! That has been the problem for years.

Agree4 Disagree5

Or he couldnt sign the preferred defenders coz of our tight fisted chairman?

Agree4 Disagree4

Or he couldnt get the best out of the defenders he already had

Redfearn to get job till end of season

Believable4 Unbelievable9

Yes please!

Agree0 Disagree8

07 Feb 2012 08:30:11
I'd like to see Neil Redfearn given the job until the end of the season. It will bring a bit of stability to the club in a very turbulant time as he has worked here for a while now and the first team squad will already know him. In fact, he will have developed a number of them in his previous role.
If he does a decent job (say, gets us in the play offs) and he impresses with the way he generally manages and coachesthe players, then let him have another go at it the following season, when he will have theclose season and a lot more ime to introduce his own ideas and bring in his own players.
If he doesn't do a good job, then we won't really lose anything.....we're not going to get relegsted this season. Also, we've got more chance of getting a decent replacement at the end of the season, as a number of the 'candidates' have counted themselves out of the running at the moment, saying that they have given their words to their current team that they will stay for this season. I don't see the point of appointing a manager just for the sake of it at the current time, as our options are limited.
Personally, if it doesn't work out for Neil Redfearn, I'd like to see someone young, ambitious and passionate given a chance. Paolo Di Canio would be my choice.
However, whoever is appointed, whether it be temporary or full time, and whether we personally approve of the choice or not, lets give him and the team our full support. Whoever is appointed deserves a fair chance.

Believable5 Unbelievable8

Very positive move cant think of a worse idea!! no experience whatsoever looking after a top club, he would be slaughtered by everyone if he lost 2 or 3 on the bounce. If this happens I think it shows what Bates really is, and I am not one of those who slag him off. I just hope this doesnt happen, if we want to get promoted this or next year it as to be Warnock for me, like him or not out of all the top likely candidates he is the only one with the cv to match the first of our ambitions..Premier League! MOT

Agree6 Disagree1

What you want and what bates want are miles apart, bates will go for cheap option and that is redfearn

Agree3 Disagree4

I personally would like to see Redfearn appointed; not because of one result but it seems that the other players respect him and would work for him. Saying that, however it would be seen as a backwards move because if the reason for getting rid of Grayson was to secure promotion then logic would say to bring in a proven manager such as Warnock who has won promotion numerous times with different clubs, not like the other names being thrown about such as Lee Clark, Phil Brown, Dave Jones and the other one hit wonders. If going for someone unproven but with the potential to be a goodmanager then I would back Ole G Solskjaer. Coached under Fergie, managed and won a trophy back in Norway and well respected as a player.

Agree3 Disagree1

I think he could do a good job hes got a team that could get promoted this season. no experience ,so what ? whos to say hes not going to be a good manager .so we bring in a top manager whos to say he will be able to stop Leeds from losing 2 or 3 games in a row. you cant gain experience without actually having a go at it .if we went with what your saying there wouldn't be any experienced managers

Agree1 Disagree3

If clubs never took chances on people like this, then no-one would ever become a manager...

O'Leary stepped up and did a good job for us, there's no saying Redfearn wont do the same.

Agree3 Disagree3

Good post

Agree0 Disagree1

You start off with a club who's fan don't expect overnight success!! How many BIG teams go for a inexperienced manager or manager with no experience...NONE!! The fans on bates and graysons back all season would have him shot if he lost 3 games in a row and if it don't work and they take him on who's fault will that be? MOT taking too long though whoever is going to be in charge, needs to be by tomorrow so everyone knows what is happening.. and if it is Redfearn get prepared for another year in Chamionship! Surely who will know and respect him, when we come to sign new players hopefully..big managers get the big names.

Agree2 Disagree0

Big People get big players!

Agree2 Disagree0

Rangers and Celtic both have far greater expectations than us and both go for unproven. Might not work all the time, but look now with Lennon and Mccoist and it's a tight race for the title.
Barcelona went for both Frank Rykard and pep Guardiola who were both inexperienced and had a small amount of success!
Andre Villa Boas at Porto.
Mancini won the title every year at Inter with no experience.
We ourselves had success with both O'leary and Revie despite the lack of experience, although granted there were no expectations when revie started here.
And no, I know full well it doesn't always work but neither does going for experience all the time either ie Hodgson at Liverpool, Scholari at Chelsea, Benitez at Inter.
No guarentees in football, lets just get behind whoever gets the job full time and not bitch and moan if the person you don't want gets the nod!

Agree2 Disagree1

With the post saying that Redfearn could step up and do a good job then I agree, but O'Leary doing a good job!!???

Agree0 Disagree2

So you are classing AVB (who cost chelski 15m) and Mancini the same as redfearn who was a crap footballer for crap club at best!! I know Mr Bates posted that one so we are getting the same quality and City and Chelski but instead of paying 6 or 7 million per year is about 50k!! What a load of rubbish

Agree1 Disagree2

Well seeing as AVB never even played professional football, i'd be willing to bet that the worst of the 'crap clubs' Redfearn played for were better than the best club AVB may have turned out for! Also, yes Chelsea spent 15mil to get him as manager, but that was because, as I said, PORTO took a chance on him and were rewarded with trophies as well as this compo. I'm not comparing Redfearn to anybody at all. He's his own man and personally I wish him luck whether it's here or anywhere else. The question was asked which top clubs go for untested managers and I gave a few examples, just because you don't like the answer doesn't mean you can change the question!

Agree1 Disagree0

What I don't get is when we sacked Grayson the club stated that the timing was part of the reason as there was enough time to bring someone else and they had enough time to get the most out of the squad from now till the end of the season yet there seems to be no rush at all to make the decision surely making the appointment Monday or Tuesday would have made sense so the new boss could come in and put his new fresh ideas in training for the rest of the week.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

They said a decision would be made early this week.

Agree12 Disagree0

The new boss is in place and has been since last week Redfearn; he has vocal backing from senior players. They have commented how his positive approach and tactical awareness has been refreshing and secured the result at the weekend. AOB is fully back in the fold now because Reders used him as a coach at he weekend a really clever move. He has been a proven success at Youth and Reserve level, all our squad know him and he knows them with them playing for him already. He is the ideal and sensible option he will get the position until the end of the season when it will be reviewed I guarantee it!

Agree2 Disagree2

He knows them on a personal level, which, in my opinion, is bad. Managers need to be harsh, something Redders doesn't seem to be.

Agree8 Disagree2

Trust me Reders knows how to be harsh and straight with players, he commands respect!

Agree1 Disagree3

Worst thing that could happen should have kept grayson big mistake another year in the championship

Wouldn't mind Warnock as he has an amazing record promoting teams to prem but then when he gets there he f***s up so I'd love Lambert to take the job that would mean something for a premiership manager to step down a league would be awesome but I have a feeling if we win again on Saturday and still manager-less then Redfearn will get the job.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

His contract release has not been arranged he wants a £1mil pay off from QPR and that will take some time to resolve, Redfearn till the end of the season.

Agree1 Disagree1

Yeah i think everyone would love lambert but why would he leave norwich when he has performed miracles with them and they are doing well in the prem. would be brilliant but it wont happen.
