We don't need beckford back, we need 2 strong defenders koumas to sign his deal and someone who is better than becchio because he isn't as good as he used to be we should just take the money for him if we get offers

Believable4 Unbelievable5

After all the stupid suggestions of signing former players, especially Smith, Beckford is the only one I would have back. Extremely under-valued by most Leeds fans. Imagine a quartet to choose from of Becchio, Beckford, McCormack & Somma?

No doubt most will disagree with this and say we should try and sign Andy "2 goals in twenty-odd appearances" Keogh.

Agree9 Disagree1

I would have Beckford back tomorrow,he played his best footie at Leeds

Agree9 Disagree1

Beckford may well have played his best football at Leeds, unfortunately the guy obviously only has eyes on his pocket, not on his, or more importantly OUR future?

Smith HAD to leave, not his choice, whatever anyone on here says? Yes he could have gone somewhere else but the fact remains that Stum paid the cash for him and he went where it benefitted Leeds most. Everything else is history, could have been, didn't happen, whatever.

Beckford had a clear choice with no pressure and decided to walk, why would we want a player like that back, whatever his talent (especially as we nurtured that talent?)

Agree0 Disagree3

What a sad person you are! Slagging Beckford and defending Smith.

Remind me, how much is Smith being paid to collect splinters in his backside at Newcastle?

I don't think I'm the only one but I thought Zac Thompson was one of the best players on the pitch on Monday and he had to at right back! Great shot! Bit of aggression which is what we need and can play a good pass! Massive potential!

Leeds have limited funds.I for one will be extremely dissapointed if we buy an attacking player. We need right back desperately, centre backs desperately, and a defensive midfielder or s playmaker, holder in midfield. But its defence we are need to spend all our money on.loans will do till we get up.

Is this a Leeds united forum or a Leicester city forum who cares Leicester are wasting yet more money on a average striker lets concentrate on Leeds united rumours shall we

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Completely agree. Sharp is over-rated, always has been.

can we get real on here !! been on this site a long time and they call it banter we should call it b...sh.. !!! we r leeds fans through and through ! but lets get real no sharp ! no rhodes !! no smith !! no money !! rhodes nt worth the money their talking got to prove himself at higher level look at beckford struggled !! mot

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Beckford scored 10 in 30 app for everton. Most of them subs - hardly call that struggling for a 1st year in prem its not bad. Scores more than Heskey!

Agree3 Disagree1

Remember that goal against Chelsea? ran through half the team from well inside his own half... I'd take him back anytime.

Agree2 Disagree0

Beckford's a good striker. Quite typical of the modern day Leeds fan, even after all the goals he scored for us, that they have to have a pop at him whenever his name's mentioned.

Agree3 Disagree0

If u read it properly never had pop at him just facing facts he aint cut it at higher level and rhodes could do the same ! mot !!!!

To gauge how good a judge of a player Grayson is, take the two Swindon strikers who nearly got Swindon promoted when we went up. Billy Paynter and Charlie Austin. Paynter has scored once since he left Swindon. Charlie Austin who is much younger is cracking them in at a pace for Burnley. by the way they have both been out injured for quite a time since leaving Swindon.

Jordan Rhodes is a quality player who will probably be snapped up by a premier league club. Anyway if Leeds did buy him and he scored 40 goals we probably would not get promotion. Until we sort the defence out we will still be losing too many games. And when I mean sort the defence out I mean getting rid of Connolly, kisnorbo, O'Dea, Bruce, O' Brian and Bromby which is basically the lot of them and starting from scratch. By the way I have it on good auyhority that Grayson is our defensive coach.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Bring back george graham as defensive consultant !!

Agree4 Disagree2

Ian miller is our defensive coach! Another bulls**tter! Get a life pal u don't know anyone with 'good authority'!!

Agree3 Disagree2

Stick george graham up your a*** SIDEWAYS!

The arrival of Billy Sharp to Leicester will pave the way for unwanted striker Jermaine Beckford to return to Leeds.
Robert Snodgrass likely to go to Norwich once he returns to fitness after a recent appendix operation.
Grayson will be expected to get rid of unwanted players like O'Brien, Paynter, Rachubka before been allowed to use some of the money to bring more players in.

To everyone who thinks were going to get loads of quality prem players on loan, youre wrong. We will probably bring in one more loan signing from the top flight and then make one or two signings from our league or elsewhere. Some fans need to be more realistic about the players we are going to bring in! Sharp going to Leicster I understand. MOT

Not a rumour but I'll be so glad if alex oxlaide chamberlain joined us on loan, he taught me rugby at London Irish a couple of times. He's realistic, a smart guy and very passionate. I would love him at Leeds and he would definately be a signing that would make a difference

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Just read on Ssn that Leicester agree fee for Billy sharp.I'd like to see him at Leeds but I know we won't.but I'd really love to ask Ken or Simon, could we pay to get him.not sure what fee agreed is but prob 2 to 3 mill.have we actually got the money to go for it.does anybody really know.also I wish people would not slag off paynter so much.he was great for Swindon and when we signed him was pleased.no it has not worked out and yes he should go but he really wanted to do well and could not wait to come to a big club like ours, give him a little respect because I'm sure he will svoregoals again soon elsewhere..shrew leeds

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Sharp isn't worth a fraction of what Leicester are paying for him, and Paynter's just rubbish.

barn door billy, the guy who couldn't score in a brothel, should be sold or given away asap... he is the equivalent of a christmas cracker prize

Grayson looking for right back, centre back and midfielder... i completley agree however we need a new striker, even though he has done well at the start of the season McCormack is not good he had a string of look, complete striker need a strong prolific striker like the Becchio of last season

Believable2 Unbelievable1

The striker Leeds need has to be strong as a bull, similar in stature to Tony Yeboah, someone who will get stuck in and not just wait for the ball to come to him ala Beckford

Agree1 Disagree0

I'd rather have Beckford. A strikers job is to score goals and scare defenders. That is beckford all over we have becciho to run around like a big lump.

Agree1 Disagree1

Yeboah rarely got stuck in. Couldn't hold the ball up for toffee. He did however have a very powerful and accurate shot with both feet too. The positions we really need to sort out are RB, CB and defensive midfield.

Agree2 Disagree2

Beckford over Yeboah, where are you coming from/ Beckford couldn't even lace Yeboah's boots !

Agree4 Disagree0

Get ready to welcome Beckford back. Unfortunately the arrival of Beckford and Townsend which will excite the fans will result in Snoddy been sold. Giving Batesy a couple of very good players through the door and an excellent one out with money still in the bank coz that's the way he rolls.
Beckford for Snodgrass, Townsend to replace him for while, Bates you clever old b******d.

Agree0 Disagree1

CAN PEOPLE STOP INSULTING McORMACK HE IS A LEEDS PLAYER THEREFOR WE SHOULD SUPPORT HIM AND THE SQUAD 100 %. ANY1 WHO DISAGREES IS NOT A REAL LEEDS FANT MOT !! {Ed025's Note - you are right..but stop shouting..

Agree2 Disagree1

Tony Yeboah was the greatest striker in a leeds shirt since the revie days, remember when we were gonna buy thomas scuravy(excuse my spelling)Then a bloke named Van Nistlerooy but he had a dodgy knee and went somewhere else!! Ah Yeboah what a scorer of spectacular goals he was.. happy memories.
Trixy {Ed025's Note - eric cantona?

Agree2 Disagree0

Beckford wouldn't even be allowed to make Yeboah's favourite, Yorkshire Puddings and gravy.

Agree1 Disagree1

Heeheeee like the big lump, still giggling heeheee

Agree1 Disagree0

Edd, Don`t forget cantona went to stum and it was chapman who got us the goals that season, Cantona didnt contribute at crucial points, and I remember him(against Stuttgard I think) worrying about finding his boot rather than getting the bloody ball!

My team for arsenal would be a weakened eleven cos the main thing is the league and not the cup in recent seasons after the big cup games ie scum away we have gone on some what of a slump so i would go with lonergan thompson lees odea parker nunez clayton pugh townsend forssell mccormack agree or disagree whats everybody else is team views appreciated

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Knowing Grayson he'll needlessly throw on our best 11 even if they're carrying injuries.

Agree3 Disagree0

Thats not far off our best 11 with what he has available

Agree1 Disagree0

Gzzz with our team, forget the FA cup as it's already lost.

You have just said u would field a weaker team...........Then named our current best 11?!

Jason koumas what u reckon ed proven premiership midfielder also deadly from set pieces {Ed007's Note - Yes he is.}

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Koumas and brown...mmm 6 years ago maybe,it would be like watching a game in slow motion if them 2 played!

Agree1 Disagree1

The number one player I wanted for Leeds was Jason Koumas - but that was
4 or 5 years ago.
With limited funds and Brown and Varynen
clogging up the wage bill we DO NOT want

Guys and girls it is only the 6th of Jan! Signings will and need to come. Some of you so called Leeds fans need to buck your ideas up and get behind the team. I went to what I hate to say as only my second game of the season against burnley, and I must say it probably one of the first times I've heard to away fans louder than us. Where's 'we'll stay with you forever' we've been in alot worse situations and supported better. As much as I'd love for us to spend millions on someone like Rhodes, it's not realistic. Spending loads and having high war bills is what put us here in the first place. We're above Leicester and Birmingham and on paper they have better players and higher wage bills. We just have to be patient. I'd rather work up to the premier league than just buy our way and struggle with money again being in debt. You who say Grayson out who would come in? Everyone knows  we need money to spend but Grayson does well out of the small pot he has. Leicester spend something like £12 million in the summer. We have bought Pugh for like half a mil that's it really.
MOT

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Stop relating to people as "so called Leeds fans" just because people voice their concerns over how the club is run and what promises KB has speculated within the transfer window..
We are all supporters of our club and it will never be 100% marching on together in agreement - that's what makes this rumours page the most read throughout the website

Agree6 Disagree1

Don't blame so called Leeds fans, blame KEN BATES - I sung my heart out at Burnley in the North Stand (my voice was sore for 2 days), but most people seemed disinterested were I was. (too low down get me back to the last 10 rows of the north stand) It was like card board cut outs.
Bates is dividing this club, he's indoctrinated some of you poor people (Just like religion) with cult legends such as "he saved our club" or "Living within our means". Have any of you thought whilst your fighting amongst ourselves that the greedy muppet is taking us to the cleaners. He wants you to blame each other and adopt his policies, whilst he takes the bank roll for his pocket as he knows we can't stop him whilst were stopping each other.
For those who live in Ken Bates utopia WE ARE NOT DEBT FREE, he has taken out a few mill for the building work that we don't own. He ruined Bournemouth and Chelsea with silly illogical decisions. The man is a 'poor Risdale', at least when he bankrupts you, you'll know where the money has gone, whereas with bates we won't (probably new boat).
I disagree with the economic paradigm, of which this club has become accustomed to, of spending inadequate sums of money and using it in a unethical way.
1) If we spent £5 million now. We could easily get promotion and the money from the premier league next year will cover it. This is a reasonable sum and in todays values it is a mundane sum for most clubs of our stature.
We are laughing stocks due to buying players like we are 'salvagers' in star wars. We also lose players like rats leaving a sinking ship. Give players longer deals if they are quality to start with. It's only because our signings are 'has-beens' or 'Nonentities', so we can't give them long contracts. Lets get some real reputable names (McCormack was the last 'big name' player with quality that we signed).
2) Loan signings are a quick fix, but the cash we waste on several of them could provide 1 quality player. In the long term we could sign a quality player each window and go up the slow way (like Bates preaches) as loans get you no long term certainty.

If people want to know the truth about Alan smith then they should read Peter lorimers comments on the subjet (I'll post the link later) he says man u were the only club that could afford to pay the fee in full at the time and Leeds needed the money. Alan smith loves Leeds and comes and watches Leeds play whenever he can. Personally I would like to see him back as he is a player that knows all about the club and is a good experienced player that could do a good job

Believable12 Unbelievable6

For goodness' sake! This rubbish has been trotted out so many times! Nobody cares any more Alan! Your time is done, we don't want or need you!
