WHY are we £20 Million in Debt ??
Thought when GFH took over they ANNOUNCED we were dept free !!

What the hell is going on, we will loose thousands of fans at matches if we don't get a grip Gj

Believable11 Unbelievable5

How can this rumor be true? What have we spent the money on? Not million pound players that's for sure. I'm also interested in how long have LUST been sitting on this information? How do they know it's true? What and who is their source? We require answers quick. There seems to be something rotten in LUFC with Mick Jones advertising our players are being monitored. Ed, what do you make of it all? Where is GFH's financial muscle?

Agree5 Disagree6

07 Jan 2013 21:18:25
are we 20 million in debt though because that has come from lust hasnt it?

Agree5 Disagree6

I am hoping that gfh negotiated this debt into the selling price, or we will soon be relegated again after selling all our best players, is it a coincidence that all the rumours have surfaced about the selling of becchio, bryams and lee's?

Agree3 Disagree1

It's only what the supporters trust says. Why would anyone buy a club and inherit £20m of debt? The payment of £52m for the takeover would have included paying off the debt otherwise it means it will have cost £72m for the takeover. No one is going to pay that for a championship club.

Agree8 Disagree6

Can you all hear Bates laughing!?...
LIke he always said, he hates us, and has wanted to drive us to the wall and has done so whilst fleecing each and every one of us. One of the biggest crooks in football.

GFH you boys need to a) get rid of bates from his 'advisory' role and b) prove to us fans that you intend to invest properly in the team and bring the fans back to ER. That means retaining our current talent and bringing in proven match winners. Gradel would be a good start.

LLHB MOT

Agree4 Disagree5

Surely gfh spent long enough checking out books to know about dept 20k?iif mislead then insured for right! warnock told to draw up a wishlist for jan, Think mick jones comments a bit odd about prem clubs circling for bechio byram lees .what do you think edds {Ed013's Note - Yeah he shouldn't have said that mate}

Agree2 Disagree0

LUST published this info but the figures are not 'from' LUST, they're from the company's accounts. You don't need to take LUST's word for it. Anyone can check the company accounts at www.companieshouse.gov.uk for a relatively small amount of money. GFH would have known about this debt in any case. I expect they've planned around it. And these figures pre-date the takeover so they're not really that relevant any longer. What matters is what GFH do about it.

Agree8 Disagree0

Isnt it time that we the fans just focused on supporting the team and leave the business men to look after the business. I doubt if many of us would understand if they sat us down one on one and explained it so let them deal with it

Agree5 Disagree2

"WHY are we £20 Million in Debt ?
Thought when GFH took over they ANNOUNCED we were debt free !

What the hell is going on"

What is going on is LUST their reporting of LUFC financial status has been repeatedly discredit and proven to be false which borders on intended falsification.

LUST reports this information as fact when in truth it is conjecture that they put out in the public domain without regard for the common fan.

LUST need to follow BATES out of our club we need to rid these people that fill their egos through the wider club

Agree6 Disagree0

To the comment regarding the companies accounts I have checked full accounts for the whole holding company that is filed with Companies House there is zero credibility or truth in LUST analysis and reporting's.

I am totally appalled and disillusioned with LUST.

Agree5 Disagree3

08 Jan 2013 01:14:54
OK Guys STOP PANICKING this is complete borax put up by LUST and spun by them to suit THEIR agenda, yes there are parts of our beloved club losing money, eg the Pavillion and Yorkshire Radio to name 2, yes there are some unexplained figures which loosely translated means Bates WAS lining his pockets at our expense (both these facts add up to the tune of a couple or 3 million), but the point youre all missing is this, Most of us probably have a mortgage, which is to all intents and purposes a debt covered by an asset eg your house, but like me most of us consider a mortgage a necessary evil and not a debt as such..

GFH have taken over a "mortgage" which is covered by of all things 2 further seasons of season ticket sales and profits from the deal we entered in to recently with the new catering company, in other words the (Leeds Share of) any profit from all the food, drinks etc sold within the ground goes towards servicing our mortgage payment, oh and the assets of the aforementioned Pavillion and Yorkshire Radio etc.

So please LUST stop messing about with supporters emotions, support your club and get through the turnstiles, as this believe it or not is one of the primary factors behind our currently falling revenues. To help this a plea to GFH try lowering ticket prices for a couple of games if the attendances rise significantly so would our turnover. But to end on a positive we are still a PROFIT making business, with new owners and happily a hope that GFH make good on their promises and get us back where we rightly belong.

Celtic fan in peace. I've heard Celtic are going to bid for Luciano Becchio and that he is interested in the move. Anyone on here heard anything about this? Also Tom Lees maybe joining us to. Good Luck for the rest of the season

If I was manager I would give yee byram lees and Becchio for sammaras.

Agree0 Disagree10

Same rumours down here pal. Can we have hooper & wanyama in a swap deal!?!?

Agree3 Disagree2

Would rather like to hang on to Hooper and Wanyama lol pretty much like you'd like to hang on to Becchio. How much do you reckon it would take to get Becchio? and what would we be getting if he was to end up at Celtic?

Agree0 Disagree2

I think he'd cost between 3.5 - 5Mill - to sum up you would get a hard working target man, who has a clinical instinct to poach the net in the box.
My guess is you would sign him if Hooper was to go to the premiership as he'd probably play the same role and you'd have about 3-4 mill left for another player

Agree4 Disagree3

Haven't you noticed the big empty East Stand redevelopment? Ot The Pavilion? Or listed the Bates propaganda radio station?

Agree4 Disagree2

From someone who sits in the East stand Exec boxes (every match day), your wrong. All of the boxes are full, as are the lounges behind on match days, serving meals/drinks etc. What are empty are the seats, particularly in the upper. But these are unrelated to the corporate boxes/lounges and were empty anyway, as are half the seats elsewhere with the exception of the Kop.

sorry people lets get real, we've been suckered again.
i'm one of the most optimistic leeds fans you could meet, i hang on to every post and report but am afraid these people (gfh) are penniless

if they had money to spend they would be wheeling and dealing as we speak.
how long have leicester city been a bigger club than leeds, they outspend us and we do nothing norwich city buy our best players and we do nothing to keep them.
now we have rumors with byram, lees, becchio etc. we are on the verge of sinking out of sight like clubs did in the past northampton town once of the old 1st division and more recently wimbledon dwindling fan base lack of cash, we are about to move into the most important month in the history of leeds united. i hope beyond all hope i'm wrong.......but i bon't think so.

Believable8 Unbelievable4

GFH have bought leeds utd for 52'mil in full and owe bates no money for the club but yet fans such as yourself are on here scaremongering shouting they are penniless

What a joke...(I speak of course about the sale of Becchio, Byram, and Lees) If the rumours in the press are correct, which seems to be the case, then I GIVE UP...what an outrage...why are we selling our best players?? If this is the case, what a farce. I read this site and think that there are sooo many negative people on hear...I always try to look at the positives when it comes to my team...unfortunately, I too am doubting the whole thing...I understand why so many get so frustrated....How can we be positive when nothing positive has happened to us in over a decade. I just hope that this is all media bullsh1t and we can hold what we have together, add to the team and give us supporters something to cheer for.

Our team is strong in all departments but midfield. Ashdown for me is better than Kenny which says how strong the gk position is. Drury for me hasn't put a four wrong and is more than capable of first choice left back at this level. Charlie Taylor aidy white n Danny Pugh, even Jason Pearce can play left back. We all know Peltier can't tho. Centre back we don't need to strengthen, lees n Pearce are my first choice and kisnorbo would have been adequate back up. Austin sitting infront of defence with Norris or Brown back up. Byram right back, Peltier and Connolly back up . Connollys treatment is awful from Warnock we should be giving him a chance whilst paying his wages, byram first choice tho. Upfront we do not need to strengthen, Becchio, McCormack, diouf need to all play with somma n Gray n varney back up.somma rotating with diouf. Ramon Nunez should be in the squad with Robbie rogers when he comes back. Both have not been given a fair chance yet. What we need is 2 midfielders with good passing ability and creativity.delph on loan would be good. Will Hughes or Jake butterfield would be superb.hoolahan, these type of players, someone like etherington too to get those crosses in for Becchio.

Believable5 Unbelievable10

The team needs strengthening in all departments.

Agree7 Disagree1

Areeeeee you crazyyyyyyyy

Agree0 Disagree0

Nonsense. Connolly is awful and doesn't deserve to even wear the white shirt in the privacy of his own home. Nunez is inured for season so can't play, don't you follow the team? Rogers in on a season loan and isn't getting much game or making an impression at Stevenage. I thought he would be a good addition. Clearly not

Not long ago (start of the season) he was going to leave the club but all you people wanted him to stay and he signs a contract and he lose his feet you all slag him off What the Hell !!

NOTE: You guys could not do any better then white dose

Believable6 Unbelievable8

White tried holding the club to ransom in the summer!
The only reason he's still here is cause he couldn't get better elsewhere.
for me he's an ok squad player nothing more

Agree6 Disagree3

I didn't want him to stay I think he is cak I wanted the tribunal money he is not good enough simple as that.

Ps : I'm not getting paid to play that's the difference

Agree5 Disagree3

'We guys' are not professional footballers. That's the most ridiculous comment I've ever seen on here and that's going some. The fact that Aidy White's a better player than me doesn't mean that I can't see what his weaknesses are. Nor does it mean he understands the game better than I do from an intellectual perspective.

He's a poor footballer by the standards of this league. He lacks awareness. His delivery is poor. His passing is atrocious. His tackling is OK but not great. He has pace but lacks the footballing intelligence to put that pace to good use. I, along with many others on here, didn't think we should re-sign him when his contract expired. I've seen nothing to change my mind and I'd be surprised if many others have changed theirs. Waste of space.

Agree3 Disagree1

He is still only 21, for al unknown he may just need proper coaching. Players in his position DNT peak until mid 20's. We are comparing him him to Byram who is simply a higher calibre of player.

Too many negative comment on GFH, the guys havent spent any money yet, but its there waiting, Warnock won't just buy rubbish to suit the fans...they will spend, but will also sell if an acceptable offer comes in for a player. All football clubs work like this, Man Utd sold Ronaldo, Everton sold Rooney, Liverpool sold Torres, Newcastle sold Carrol.....££££££££ anyone is for sale at the right price, as long as they are replaced with equal or better, thats the hope.

Im sure by Jan 2013 we will all be happy.

If byram goes it will probably be for 8 million up.
Becchio will be 4 million up .theres lots we can do with that sort of money in this league .
At the moment everyone worrying about nothing, there's no bids just rumours

07 Jan 2013 16:33:39
GFH Be warned. Selling our young talent for a knock down price will not help the abysmal attendances noted recently. Morale amongst fans is at an all time low, the view taking hold is that we are a bit of a stop off for half arsed journeymen looking for an easy pay cheque and a Norwich feeder club . Selling the likes of Byram will compound this idea, will underline the ongoing lack of ambition to move out of the championship to the PL, and deplete still further attendances. Time to show the fans you mean business as far as this league is concerned. A 'hands off' statement would be a good place to start re Byram/Becchio and anyone else any good drawing the eye of PL clubs. Lets face it 11k for a fac r3 tie is terrible. The club, from boardroom to team need to start enthusing the fans and generating some genuine passion and belief that we can escape this league. At present the problem is that very few people believe this is possible.

What is it with Leeds and slow aged over 30 Players. Clint hill is no better than Tate!? Everyone can see we need some pace and that our defence gets pulled all over the place due to its immobility. We need someone who will dictate play from midfield and some pace on the flanks and central defence. Teams with quick players and flair seem to run us ragged and have so many chances to score against us. Please sign some young, flair and quality please!

Not a rumour, more of a thought regarding messrs byram and lees. Why move to prem clubs, when realistically, they haven't played that much footy at this level. They will be reserve players at best.Look what happened to woods, taiwo and garbutt(everton can't sell him because of a 40% sell on clause, they would lose out financially).Look to the like's of Milner, Delph, and Howson get some games under your belt and see where it takes you(hopefully the prem. in byram and lees case with us)KEA

Don't panic! 07 Jan 2013 15:22:14
Regarding Clint Hill - I think its a step in the wrong direction in terms of building for the further and promotion. However, he is vastly experienced with premier league games on top now too. He was QPR player of the year last year and has played a lot this year too. He can operate at CB and LB and so he could plug our LB problem in the short term. The difference between him and tate is that Hill has played in the premier league. he will be cheap as chips and will help our leaky defence in the short term. Could be shrewd. Having said this i think NW will need to follow this up with some good attacking young players to help us fans get on side. I like the idea of Hill playing at LB. But only as a short term solution to steady the ship.

Isnt thats exactly what Arsenal are, and every other club apart from the Barcelonas of this world, we can't compete with the big boys anymore, sad but true, and IMPO, Hill would do a job for us, he had a blinder against Chelsea and better than what weve got at present, theres loads of time left for transfers, lets see what happens before slagging off NW and GFH, if you look at attendances the night we played Brum, they were mostly poor, stay positive and support the boys.

Byram, becchio and lees have been linked with a move away. I hope none of these moves happen, but it provides another reason why we have to get up to the PL! If we stay down in the championship we will keep on being the feeder club we have been for too long. We have lost so much of our PL standard talent that it must not continue. Lets get up there now boys!! The wait will be over soon!! MOT

Believable10 Unbelievable1

I do feel neil is doing the right thing with the sort of the players we are linked with as e is trying to get good quality players on the cheap due to their contract situation. Dexter blackstock is the sort of player we want as he is proven with 33 goals in 99 games which is good enough to take a bit of weight off becchio's shoulders. Clint hill is getting on a bit but if he's still got the legs in the prem the championship should be fine for him. Faurlin is another player I think we could get seeing as neil does like him and he only has 6 months on his contract left so he wouldn't cost that much. Fraser Campbell is another name who has been linked and would be great as he would add pace to the squad and again very cheap . Lastly Emmanuel frumpong would be a good addition to the team as he is still young, he's strong and could definatley lead our midfield. This group of players could easily be brought within 6 million or even jerome Thomas instead of frazer would lessen the expense so this could be done

Your not going to believe what's on ssn Leeds are preparing a bid for 34 year old clint hill and are going to offer him a long term contract to lure him to Leeds

What a joke

Believable12 Unbelievable1

First of all mick jones is just saying all this to get his face out there, the media have never reported interest for becchio, so how can mick say anything about the situation. I also feel becchio would struggle in the prem with a new team as he is quite slow and I think he would end up having the same sort of career as Beckford as he got found out for being lazy and becchio would get found out for being just a goal poacher. However I dio think he would do well for us in the prem if we get up and becchio loves it here and he knows he is a cult hero at leeds so he isn't going anywhere and I doubt bryam is gonna go he knows he would be a future first team player in the prem and he will wait to find out whether we can give him prem football next year

It appears that '' is the latest buzzword meaning 'news is quiet, lets make something up'. I am half expecting them to say FACT at the end of each statement. Until it is on OS it isn't true, lets not get carried away with nonsense stories.

Clint Hill to leeds on SSN! Better than Tate i suppose but we really need to invest in youth. What you think of him ed? {Ed013's Note - Experience, but another to the list of journeyman and the fans will not stand for this if the best players are sold. Leeds United, the new retirement home for professional players!}

Good signing to mix with out young talent. if we don't sell them!

So according to Mick Jones nothing has changed and under GFH we are still a selling club. Fancy inviting offers for Byram & Becchio, the guy is a liability. We need to be keeping hold of these players, especially the likes of Byram and build the team around him. No doubt it will be the usual undisclosed fee and we couldn't turn it down or stand in their way of premiership footy. If Byram had any sense he would stay put and develop further with us. He only has to look at others who have tried to leave for the promised land. And I'm not talking about the likes of Lennon, Snoddy or Milner as all these players are older and already developed. Maybe the reason we haven't yet bought a striker is because they are touting Becchio around and waiting to see what money they can get before looking at his replacement. If he goes then it has to be the quality of Danny Graham or Hooper, not some squad plodder like Varney or Gray. GFH & Bates out!!!

on a website celtic may make a move for tom lees also bbc say we may loose becchio and young sam byram. different owners different year same old sh1t. if any of them go what is the point we will never get back to where we belong so no point in paying 36 quid to watch sh1t week in week out is there i really hope not. kieran

I'm afraid that Mr Bates was right about most Leeds fans, they are morons. I'm a season ticket holder and it baffles me how people say Brown had a shocker against birmingham then go on to say Ryan Hall is good enough Hall was shocking Brown and Mccormack were the only players that played well against Birmingham watch the team play then judge don't do it because you saw the match reports on the internet...

Believable5 Unbelievable8

Brown puts his heart and soul in to each game, which is more than most of the leeds squad. Gj

Agree9 Disagree3

And it baffles me how stating how youre a season ticket holder makes you know everything

Agree5 Disagree0

Agree that Ryan Hall was shocking, totally anonymous, Brown played well and to be fair, I thought White showed commitment and was far better than Hall before he was subbed.

Agree1 Disagree0

I was at the game also. Brown was shocking. Couldnt cover the width of the pitch, no pace and 2 players waltzed past. He was to blame for their goal.

If Chelsea do sign Taison then we should try to sign Lucas Piazon on loan as he won't play much at Chelsea so would gain some good experience with us and it would add more creativity to our team so both parties would benefit

How would he benefit from having ball hoofed over his head

all the people saying we won't be bidding for faurlin are clueles..warnock has publicly stated faurlin is the best player he has ever worked with and we have the cash and q.p.r are willing to sell i can see it happening..rumours everywhere that a 2.5-3million bid has already been lodged..

Believable8 Unbelievable8

Faurlin is a quality player but he'd struggle to get a work permit when he signs a new contract. he doesn't have dual European nationality like Becchio. probably why he hasn't moved anywhere yet.

Agree3 Disagree1

07 Jan 2013 10:51:01
if Becchio does get sold then we would have to sign someone like Lambert or Austin but i think we would go for the cheaper signing and get CMS and strengthen other areas up as well .
i think byram will be another hard player to replace but if we got anywhere near 8 million we could strengthen all areas for sure weather its January or in the summer .

Can anybody shed some light on our financial muscle seeing as we could not compete for the signing of Wood? It worries me that we are not going to invest in the right players once again.

Believable8 Unbelievable2

We can't offer 30k wages

Agree6 Disagree1

Cant or won't offer wages of 30k ? With crowds similar to Birmingham game (11, 400) would you shell out £30k a week

Agree2 Disagree2

Its not we can't offer 30 k its more we won't take the risk. the clubs that are offering anymore than 20k are making a big loss each season .
we have only been paying up to 15k and making a 3.5mil profit in the seasons where we have had average gates of 23,000 + and this is with our high ticket prices.
This season we will have average gates of 16,000 or there abouts which soon knocks a big chunk off the profit .we don't want to be dropping back down to league 1 ever again.

Agree2 Disagree0

We can not 30k not in this league not that other players would be wanting the same wages then soon you would be back in debt again which can not afford to get back into

Agree1 Disagree0

If we start paying 30gs a week wages were gonna be back in the brown sticky stuff very quickly

Agree2 Disagree0

If somebody was doing the same job as you, but was on double your wages within the same company would you kick up a fuss ?

Mick Jones should be sacked for his comments about Byram and Becchio club! No big or even average signings yet and he is putting our two best players in the shop window! Hardly going to get the fans flocking back! Sack warnock and his poor backroom staff and get Gus in! We might not get promoted this year but at least we can watch football instead of hoofball!!

they are the obvious 2 players that bids are going to come in for, theres nothing wrong with what he said really .he stated if came in with a 10 million pound bid byram would be off which puts it out there that he won't be leaving on the cheap and we are wanting that type of money which will scare off small prem league teams straight away.
becchio is 29 and if he goes for 5 or 6 million then thats good business for club and player .i would prefer him to go in the summer if he is to be sold as its easier to replace

Whats the story Regarding
any other sigings ? No news is good
News BUT Why no quality
Signings yet ?? Very Anxious Leeds
Supporter ! {Ed013's Note - It seems like Mick Jones is trying to put Byram or Becchio in the shop window, unless it is reverse Psychology! The lad from Celtic is wanted by Prem teams, but would be a good signing}

Just an observation but I go to ER every home game the amount of times I shout "box it" is unbelievable we don't get it in to the box quick enough, also when we break away no one runs into the box theyre either not fast enough or other than Bechio are too afraid to take the responsibility lastly no one seems to want to take on a shot at goal other than the usual suspects why? a good team goals come from throughout the team...................is this all tactics or have we just got a team with no flair what happened to the leeds of no fear? I think other teams can read us too much we need to change our tactics and scare other teams to death

Believable3 Unbelievable3

I agree to some degree, I think it simply comes down to lack of pace, throughout the whole side. For a brief period we had Thomas and you could see the outlet he allowed when we were under pressure. At the moment we simply hood the ball up field, Beccoho can't control the ball, and has no pace so is picked up, Diouf, gets the ball, still has the skill to beat his man, but not the pace to get away from him so ends giving it away, and the opposition are straight back at us. The whole midfield is packed with slow journeymen, who generally give 100%, but are not good enough to pass a foot 10 yards or burst into the box and score. We need raw, greasy pace throughout the team...but this costs money...

NW chasing Jacob butterfield formerly of Barnsley where he was a great prospect however he is now at Norwich where he has slipped under the radar would be a fantastic signing for leeds as he is someone who can put their foot on the BALL!
