Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

David haigh just tweeted"looking forward to coffee with peter virdee tomorrow, and so it begins".if peter virdee is involved we are laughing all the way to the premiership.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Anybody else tired out by the endless inuendo of takeover. A carefully crafted club statement last night, telling us exactly what we already knew, and a tantalising tweet of DH which suggests a rich co-investor, but might actually just be a coffee. It's time to get on with it now, I'm fed up with the false dawns, let's have some players in and start winning some football matches, like what we go to the games for.

leeds have gone 9/1 to sign danny ings after mcd's interest increases. hopefully with this new investment we could have the money. MOT.

The player mackay Smith, do you mean either Craig mackail Smith or Gary mackay stevens

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Probably a genetic composite, hard working striker who can also do tricks on the wing! Works for me!

Why are there so many posts saying that McCormack is off? Have you forgotten he signed a new deal in the summer and therefore we can command a very large fee? I presume it's just people pretending to be Leeds fans posting the gibberish.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What do you call alarge fee?

REMEMBER

Becchio
Snodgrass
Johnson
Howson
to name but a few over recent times.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with this post, ross is committed to leeds, someone is trying to wind us up, don't worry united fans everything will ok!

Agree0 Disagree0

Johnson left on a free transfer. Snodgrass was £3m and had a year left. Howson was £3m and had 18 months left. Becchio was 30 and had a year left. We'd be looking at over £5m for McCormack. He's contracted for another 3 1/2 years.

Agree0 Disagree0

Those fees for howson and snodgrass are nowhere near. Are you in dreamland? McCormack has done his talking through social media. HE'S GOING NOWHERE!

Agree0 Disagree0

Over £5m for Rosco and someone mentioned large fee? this wouldn't pay the rent for the ground per year.

Roscos a white ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes going nowhere.he clearly slates the rumours himself and lufc would hardly get some players in and then sell the best player overall this season. no chance. shrew leeds

Craig Gardner not getting much game time at sunderland. Would be a good signing

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree, good shout, we should be giving it a good go to bring in Birdcutt.

Continually scraping around for nobody's has to stop, see someone mentioned Matt Fryatt, another option worth considering.

Just a thought regarding investment and takeover.

We know David Haigh is involved and he had already passed the fit and proper owner test.

Today it was official confirmed Andrew Flowers is part of the consortium.

Maybe what the hold up has been is that there are multiple investors in the consortium and as the club said the other day about submitting more information to the FL for approval is just a formalty as this is the requested extra info for more consortium members to pass the fit and proper test

Fingers crossed it goes smoothly and quickly

Inverness have set £1mil on Billy Mackay, who is spl's top scorer and he's only 24, surley he's got to be worth a shot.
MOT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Read his stats before he moved up north, when he played for northampton

Agree0 Disagree0

His stats weren't that great when he was 20 years old but since his move to Inverness he he has been scoring goals for fun.
17/25
27/46
This is very impressive, other players who have been not quite as impressive in Scotland such as johnny Russell made the step up and has done okay.
Johnny Russell stats:
20/ 38
15/43
Billy McKay would not struggle based on the stats and how johnny Russell has done okay for derby

Dont get me wrong i'm not a nakhi wells fan but surely any manager (x scout) that thinks murphy is worth 1 million must think wells is a steal at 2 million?

I saw someone in casual clothes driving into Thorpe Arch this AM. I believe it was Cameron Stuart after reviewing pictures on the internet. Surely he must be signing for us?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If he was in casual clothes it must be Cameron Stewart

Leeds need to off load dead wood players like Norris, duty, diouf, white, hunt, brown, Austin not good enough to be captain. Another season where captins get in the side on merit . Play young kids at least they want to play for club and try a hell of a lot more than these just turning up for big wages.should get paid on results so lately they would be skint.

Some very good points mentioned in posts since our horror show at Rochdale, the message for GFH and the manager is stated many times by posters.

We want our team to play football not hoof and chase
Buy quality players, not has beens or going to be's in the future, we need quality players who can play football create and score goals in the midfield positions
Don't romantacise about bringing back ex players, past is past
Sign Graham Dorrans at all costs as a matter of urgency
Sign one of these three quality strikers, ALF, Kenwyne Jones or Billy Sharp
Sign a decent wide player, Chris Burke will do (should have signed Adomah IMO but he's now at Boro)
We can loan some players
Lose our under performers

Just hoping and praying

Agree0 Disagree0

Austin's been our second best player this season . Play the kids who aren't good enough so we go down, not sure that's a good idea

Agree0 Disagree0

Austin just needs a rest or a kick up the arse because he's been terrible last 5 games

Agree0 Disagree0

We definitely shoukd have signed adomah. I think brian should show the players the difference between the birmingham 4-0 win where we looked invincible and the Rochdale match where we looked terrible.
We need players who can step up who have proven at other clubs they have the quality and playing style we desperately need to get us up.
Chris Burke
Max gradel
Oliver Norwood
Richie wellens
Graham dorrans
Nahki wells etc
All possess the quality we need to push for promotion. let's just hope Richard flowers and GFH can back brian McDermott to get in quality players

Just provoking a sensible debate about Bechio coming back?
I know a lot of mixed opinions on here, but for all his short comings he did have a knack of sticking the ball in the net. And goals like the opening day last season against Wolves were top finishes.
Prob poor on the deck.
decent in the air
I bet you`d know after the game You were in a scrap for the ball!
I`m not sure either way, Hoof ball? poss
But a lot of strikers weren't great but scored a lot.
Lee Chapman was no Messi but he had the knack.
Sensible thoughts?
Don`t just call him Judas. And they are all overpaid . `s

Believable0 Unbelievable0

That was then. This is now. Leeds do need another goal scorer but what we don't need is a guy who has only played quarter of an hour's competitive football since August last year. Other words, he won't be same player. Certainly not right away.

I think Becchio has a good work rate and cuts around the pitch -although this dropped off toward the end of his last spell at leeds! If he does return then I hope he revitalises his work rate and passion. I don't know whether he is the answer to our prayers - I think that problem lies with BMD and his lack of decisive action and inability to change things when our tactics/selected team does not work. Let's hope who ever does come in provides more options so that we can get off the back foot! Do I want to see Becchio back? YES as long as he is hungry!

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2014 18:18:58
Becchio's whole attitude changed during Warnocks tenure - let's hope he shirks off the hoof ball mentality which reduced his work rate, whilst he scored he was not the player he had been previously! Just my opinion!

Agree0 Disagree0

He knows the place, and how we used to sing his name. if he did sign he's the type who'd put in the effort to prove he's still got it. would make up for lack of playing time.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do you keep banging on about players who have left the club for the green green grass and want to come back?
They wanted out let them go and let them suffer, the club is bigger than ANY player. If Becchio was playing regular at norwich he wouldn't want to come back to leeds.

WE WANT PLAYERS WHO WANT TO PLAY FOR THE CLUB AND BE PROUD TO WEAR OUR SHIRT!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well we haven't got any of those at the moment have we?

Agree0 Disagree0

Warnock pushed him out, I don't think he ever wanted to go

Agree0 Disagree0

Becchio loved the club and the city and the fans and did play for the shirt, it was our senile old git of a manager he didn't want to play for and to be honest if my boss continuosly slated me in my works public eye i'd wanna leave too!

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2014 19:45:51
Players are as loyal as their next wage packet! They don't know the meaning of loyalty!

Agree0 Disagree0

Becchio left leeds because he was greedy for money, he loves whoever pays him the most, he manipulated a move by not playing 100% for the team, he got what he deserved 3 years top wages now the rest of his carrier in the wilderness. no thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes let's definitely bring back Becchio! I hope we also bring back Jacob Burns, Shane Cansdell-Sheriff, Bruno Ribeiro, Rob Molenaar and Carlton Palmer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Becchio left because Warnock didn't rate him and wanted Morison instead. fickle, bitter, whatever you want to call it. get your heads out of your rectums!

Agree0 Disagree0

Becchio is 10th all time goalscorer for leeds, and you lump him with that lot?

Agree0 Disagree0

It was sarcasm dear. I'm just fed up of some fans constantly wanting to re-sign old players, whether it's Becchio, Howson, Smith, Beckford, Gradel or god forbid, Bradley Johnson. There are other players out there in the world you know.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bechio left for the money (FACT)
He wanted over £20k a week and said if you don't pay me I know I will get it elsewhere TRUST ME.

Loved his commitment when he played for us but let him rot now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Original poster here
I knew that would cause a debate.
I`m definitely not one to ask for players to come back. I always say never go back (ask my ex wife) she was overpaid as well!
let's just get
Wellens
Dorrans
m stevens
Ings
and V persie
then we can move on
I heard V persie wants to move on from a team that can`t win anymore.

During our league one campaign which ended in promation, i'm sure I don't need to remind any true white but we beat the in the cup and from that point on our league form was simply dreadful and we went up by the skin of our teeth. Granted the cup exit was shocking on Saturday but I want to look at the positives from it firstly less fixtures for a already jaded squad, secondly david haigh was in the stands he saw first hand that this squad is in need of major cash injection with players required in almost every position. let's face it this was never going to be a quick fix over a decade of damage was never going to be repaired over night, the first steps to recovery are evident and with the right backing our great club will get back to where we truly belong one step at a time. Good post but time for talking is over

Agree0 Disagree0

Team layer and We are no nearer now than we were under Grayson, look at the players we had then to now, there's no comparison, just a shame we had to sell the best players, don't know how much money we now have to spend, and think Mac will be judged after assembling his own quad, lots of deadwood to get rid of first, hope we can bring in at least 4 quality Ist team players and not squad or ones for the future, we've done our bit with 30,000 crowds and great away following, its time they did their bit,

Just read this, and is a quote directly from Bermuda Sun Newspaper reporter James Burton relating to Nahki Wells.

"With all due respect, clubs the size of Peterborough and Huddersfield are not that enticing. In terms of support and history, City have more to offer."

Haha Udders will love that ;-) Made me chuckle anyway :-)

Is someone at the FA (who have not so secretly hated us for 4 decades) going slow on the approval in order to scupper our incoming transfers? We need the approval this week otherwise our targets will join other clubs.

Looks like naki wells is going to Huddersfield!wtf
Mikeire

Believable0 Unbelievable0

That's what I call banter, on rumours he's off to notts fst.!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we should sign kasper schmiecel under bowman ruling so he rejoins us at the end of the season. Kenny will be 35 and whether we are In the premier league or not schmiecel would be a great keeper for next season.
Loyd dyer should also be a target to buy because his contract runs out at the end of the season therefore he would be affordable and a great addition to our team

Agree0 Disagree0

Huddersfield or Notts Forest so he is off to QPR then! Pick a Club, any Club!

Agree0 Disagree0

Nah. he's going to Burnley to replace Ings, who's off to the Prem. totally legit.

Aston villa favourite to sign him on tv then udders then us

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2014 14:12:05
Im not old enough to have seen him myself but lots of people say Bobby Collins was inspirational in getting LEEDS up. A player towards the end of his career but a midfield general and leader. Think Wellens could do a similar job for us as we need someone who can control game tempo which he can. Great passer and someone who can help out Mowhatt and Murphy. The days of enticing a premier league player of standing are long gone because of the wages gap. So another Strachan, Collins or Jones from top flight extremely doubtful but there is still proper midfielders in championship and few as good passers as Wellens. So let's bring in Wellens, Stewart, and Wood from Leicester and maybe even Burke from Brum. Guarantee with these on board we won't be far away! MOT.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Giles was another one in that mode. Seen them all! Someone from Man U. or Celtic then?

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree ALWAYS puts a shift in, upsets the opositions midfielders but usually gets booked early on and that limits him to what he can can't do for the rest of the match.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2014 13:17:09
Fans keep having a go at Brown. Grossly unfair in my opinion. We need better, I accept, but compared with what is around him he is certainly not the worst. He puts in a shift not like the woeful crew that were on the pitch at Rochdale.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree mate. Brown always gives 100 % and puts the opposition off there game. Time our fans appreciated him. And get off his back. Never moans about being left out. A total proffesional

Bob. Wakefield

Agree0 Disagree0

Tonge is the worst by far.

Crap pass and his head goes down for the rest of the game

Agree0 Disagree0

Puts the opposition off their game by giving away fouls around the penalty area that more than once have led to a goal. Absolute liability, forever cringing inwardly every time he runs at a player waiting for him to get sent off. Sadly, he contributes very little going forward other than wayward passing (yes he's scored the occasional goal). Defensively, he harries the opposition but he gives away too many fouls.

Leeds united takeover the 4 people involved David Haigh and andrew flowers the other 2 could be Peter Virdee and someone from redbull and if redbull got involved with leeds elland road is too famous of a name to change they would of gained nothing from doing so and the famous white shirt that won't change because the rubbish itself is what the clubs famous for you can't think of white without thinking leeds united

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What do you mean ELLAND RD is too famous to change, that's the name of the street its on, the ground as not got a name, so call it RED BULL STADIUM and get some money for it, so we can buy some decent players with it, and hopefully get promoted

Agree0 Disagree0

No mate its known all over the world as elland road and let's keep it that way . New owners should have money anyway without taking a big piece of history away from us . Mot.

Agree0 Disagree0

St James's park was known all around the world, now it is called sports direct arena. If red bull do take us over and change the stadium name and kit sponsorship but do deliver big money for brian McDermott to lead us to the premier league to then get us back to where we should be who would care about the stadium name

Agree0 Disagree0

why are leeds supporters so paranoid about this sighning or that sighning we all know class sighnings are not going to happen so let's all be realistic and make sure we stay in this division and not get rele to div1

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Drivel. Leeds fans expect and demand to be a top class side. Takeover is imminent. Cash needs to be splashed.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we all thought like that we'd never ever get promoted so what would be the point?
