OK lads since it's FA Cup weekend what's your most memorable cup ties you've been to not including the Finals, Man City 5th Round 77, QPR 5th Round 87, Man U 3rd Round 2010.

Kettering at home in the replay in 2009. A 5 - 1 win, but taken to extra time which was nerve wracking with Man U the prize for the winners. Birmingham 1972 Semi Final, an excellent 3 - 0 win. 1965 and 1970 Semi's against Man U, with Billy scoring the winner both times.

I was at tbe Leeds QPR 5th round tie in 1987 Big Brendan with the thumping headed winner;

but since Gelderd that is on your list of exclusions, I will go for the 4th round away match at Swindon away Leeds winning 2 -1 in the same year 1986

I hadn't been to Swindon before so it was a very new experience but the best thing about the game apart from very pleasingly winning was the surprisingly very rowdy Swindon supporters sparring admirably with the equally raucous Leeds supporters on the terraces : it was a blooming terrific atmosphere that night!

Beating Norwich 5-2 I think at ER in mid 70's.
My favourite player Reaney scored a goal which made me day.
Also semi Vs Cov. Although we lost we gave made it a great game.

Got to agree on the '65 semi. Mum and dad had gone out and I was jumping around the house bursting with excitement. The only thing I can't believe, is that it was 55 years ago?

Well, only went to one, but it was at Old Trafford 10 yrs ago where a certain Beckford scored the only goal. Sat quietly in the home end (only place we could get tickets) . Freezing cold tho so my dad and I wore Leeds shirts under about six layers. Naylor and Kisnorbo with his head stappled together were just immense and Crowe clearing off the line from Rooney. we could have had more too tho, Snodgrass hit the post with a free kick and Beckford fired just wide. United started a strong squad that day too. Just got that feeling we could do something tho when Vidic pulled out with inj. Car tried to break down crossing the Pennines (didn't like the cold or something) . Drove straight home to London from the game and for once was looking forward to school the next day.

I know staying up is our main objective this season, and rightly so, but I would love us to have a good Cup Run. It seems ages since we did. Looking forward to seeing some of our young prospects on Sunday, with a mixture of experience in the team, and hopefully a good victory!

Looking at the bookies relegation odds . Outside bottom 3 Brighton 7/ 2,Burnley 7/ 2,Newcastle 4/ 1,Palace 11/ 1,LEEDS 40/ 1.Suggests we are no way near in danger, as some seem to think whenever we lose to a top side. Of course we already know that.

Martyn Think that issue is well and truly in the rear view mirror now. Berm credibility destroyed as a result. However, we do have another such bet to look forward to. Baz posted he'd run down the street naked if we sign Erling Haaland. I intend to petition Radz in order to make this happen. Regardless, I think there's a good chance of it occurring anyway.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jan 2021 20:25:50
George for goodness sake I can't imagine Baz is much to look at and if it happens in the January window with the current weather there probably won't be much to see anyway!

Hehe
Good luck Georgey with the petition to Radz πŸ˜ƒ
May I also suggest you have a word with Whiteman re this petition because he and Radz are according to Whitey very good buddies and Whitey is in the know! πŸ˜ƒ

And don't worry Georgey, unlike Berm, I don't welch on my betsπŸ˜‰

However, I am 100% content and sure Georgey, that my meat and 2 veg shall remain clothed, my modesty preserved, as your predictions never ever come true lol πŸ€ͺ

We are still for instance awaiting the 'imminent signing ' of your 'sure thing 'prediction of unproven fairly raw Che Adams from last Jan window

so what on earth chance of the superstar real deal Erling Haaland signing for Leeds ahead of say the much, much more likely Bayern Munich? 😊.

Favourite commentators and pundits Male ( and female? )

Showing my vintage and preferred eras but for me no one surpasses the commentary of the great Brian Mooore ( 70s vintage )

Also special mention for Barry Davies, Clive Tyldesley, Alan Parry and Jonathan Pearce. Although he was very knowledgeable, I wasnt so keen on John 'Motty' Motson.

As for ' pundits' and ' analysts' there are very few good ones that come to mind : possibly Danny Murphy, Jaime Carragher and Alan Hansen are the better ones (a Liverpool hatrick)

As for the ladies Gabby Yorath ( Logan) was a competent presenter for MOTD.

John Helm's sensitive commentary at the Bradford v Lincoln game when the terrible fire was starting, won him a Broadcasting Award. David Coleman, the Commentator for our FA Cup winning Final was class. A true professional.

Yes Bright and LUFCfeath John Helm : a very good choice also.

And without question LUFCfeath David Coleman class : "Clarke One Nil"

Coleman was also excellent as the original presenter of Question of Sport which was hugely popular.

I actually like having Beglin when he is part of the team on games.

Brian Moore was my least favourite. Every goal was either "great" or "fantastic". I wrote to him once on 'The Big Match' requesting some screamers from Lorimer. He was so lazy, he just showed a couple of tap ins and his goals in Leeds 5-2 home win v Leicester from 1974 (? ) , one of which was a penalty.

I know I'm picking up on posts from a few days ago but I think the Crawley game we do need to give 90mins of first team football to Geldhart, it would suit him, and give some game time to Dremeh and Greenwood . Think it would be a good education rather than playing u23.
