Brian McDermott has said that he will do whatever it takes to turn thing around. Well we all know that we need a goal-scorer and a winger at least. This is definitely something that will help to turn things around. I don't care if we have to pay an extra 2 weeks wages. Get some players in NOW!(Please)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You don't care if we have to pay an extra 2 weeks wages just get someone in NOW?

What's this new player going to do NOW? Everyone is on a 2 week squad break. Why pay someone to come in and do nothing?

Crmd

Agree0 Disagree0

This player will have 2 week to train with the team and start to build a relationship with the other players as opposed to being dropped straight in at the deep end knowing no one or anything about the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Too many times our new players don't get time to bed in. These two weeks will give rhe new players enough time to get used to being at Leeds and will build up a rapport with his new team. Surely this can only benefit Leeds in the long run

well, we are getting wound up about the mighty whites playing crap football, not getting promotion, poor players, no money, we don't deserve this, well maybe that's all true .but we could be a lot worse, i'm sure wolves, sheffield utd and portsmouth arguably also big clubs would happily swap and manchester city were in the lower divisions for quite some time so bare with it we will return to the promised land .FACT!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Doesn't change what's happening now, and if we don't improve we'll be joining Wolves, Sheff Utd, Portsmouth.

I was watching the Birmingham game at the weekend and can`t help thinking what a difference Burke would have made. He may not beat his man every time but he tries to make things happen.
Surely he was worth paying 600k for?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Got to agree mate, makes a poor decision now and then but he doesn't half get involved and causes problems.

Quote from BMcD in YEP: "We need to get a mentality where we're very difficult to play against away from home"

"It's not about hoping to get a result. It's about knowing that you're going to get a result. That's where we've got to go to, somehow, but it's amazing what you can do."

"Things can happen and players who've been written off previously can get a winning mentality. I've seen it before."

"Can we foster that? Definitely. I'm determined to get it right."

I hope BMcD is successful in turning the mentality of the team around however the failings of the team cannot just be attributed to mental fragility it is also the quality of the players and the system of play that needs addressing.

I do not understand the persistence of the same tactics with the same personnel as we are becoming painfully predictable to play against. Why are Diouf and Byram (I know he is coming back from an injury but if he is on the bench then he must be available)not getting game time? Why are we continuing to persist with Hunt when Varney and Poleon have better strike rates? Why does BMcD insist that there is no-one available in the loan market who can improve the quality of this squad?

It disappoints me that a number of fans are calling for BMcD's head however I do not subscribe to the "Superfan" opinion that no constructive criticism can be aimed at BMcD management.

Anyone know what's wrong with Wooton?. I heard on radio that he's not injured, however he can't seem t make the bench. I personalluy tink he's been great and looked solid. Tom Lee's has been at fault for quite a few goals and Pearce a few also. We need Wooton at CB along with Peltier as no way is he a right back. Centres his best position from what I've seen. Any thoughts?.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree Wooton a lot better than Lees put Peltier along side him and then put Byram at right back.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pearce has been our best defender this year. by a country mile

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree that peltier and wooton should be paired. Leeds have had a leaky defence for the opening 11 games and pearce has played in all of them. He has been better than last year but is still slow, turns like a tank and has poor positional sense. Lees has poor concentration levels which makes him error prone

Agree0 Disagree0

Pearce!? He causes most of the back line issues as he seems to switch off and can't be bothered to mark or run back at certain points of the game.

I'd try the partnership we haven't had yet; Wootton Lees

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with 3rd post, pearce easily been our best cb. Peltier was poor at cb last year. Its the midfield and attack that needs work. Vinny.

Agree0 Disagree0

Peltier was brilliant in centre back position but he was useless in left back and not too great as right back

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with the Wootten & Peltier shout for our CB pairing.

Peltier IMO is a talented player and has been a good signing, I know this isn't everyone's view but he would be snapped up by many teams in this league and no doubt go on to excell.

Pearce has noticeably improved, but I think Lees has fallen behind in the pecking order because of his poor form.

My team to start against Brummies

Kenny
Byram Wootten. Peltier. Warnock

Mowatt Norris. Murphy
Diouf. White

Poleon

SUBS, Varney, Pearce, Tonge, McCormack, Cairns, Dawson, Austin

Let's back McDermott and remember we aren't going to turn into champions in such a short time, patience, peace & calm.

MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

White upfront? Norris starting? so you drop probably the 3 best players this season in Pearce Mccormack and Austin, I hope to god that was a joke

Agree0 Disagree0

No it's not a joke, Diouffy and White are the wide positions. I think Austin hasn't played so consistently well these past few games. I don't think Norris has been given a fair run of games in his time with us, nowt to lose by giving him a start, if he's crap then replace him.
I did say Pearce has improved this term and I take your point, but IMO Pelts is a better player who I have more confidence in as a defender.

It's just my opinions I wanted to share with fellow Leeds fans, no joke :)

Time to be united and accept there is going to be a bit of a stormy ride for while yet, LUFC isn't going to be turned around quickly. Patience and time for BMcD needed.

MOT LUFC Always

Bet norris never plays another game for this club again he doesn't even get on the bench at all

I hate these fans who say McDermott out its going to destroy what little chance we have of turning this around. I know its frustrating but remember its a 2 year plan and we are only 11 games into the season.

I for one will always back Brian and the lads because when you wear a Leeds shirt you deserve the support of the best fans in the world.

oh and those who say we paid 1m for wootton we infact paid 150k with add one up to a 1m deal.

i hope we can turn it round but I will always back Brian regardless

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree, but I am not frustrated I am deeply concerned that if this continues we will be relegated, I bet that isn't part of the 2 year plan. This streak needs to stop and very quickly!

Agree0 Disagree0

We do need to avoid relegation this season and then most of warnocks carp are out of contract and we can have a decent team built on a good footing.

but until then

MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Look at Reading's promotion season - they got off to a pretty bad start. We won't go up or down this season. Let's give him time and stay calm.

Does it really matter whos the manager?
If you can't make a few signings then even mourinho would struggle.
We can only afford average players so we have an average team.some players think they are better than they are.
I don't mind been beaten if we actually gave a good performance and had chances.
The trouble is now we are panicking a lot of the good loans have gone.
Havent a clue who we can get now.shrew leeds

We had 19 points from the opening 11 games last season and this season we have 14 points from 11 games. Bare in mind Warnock had no funds to work with and all the month after month un certainty of the take over.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

And plus the fact that every otjer team is getting stronger with signings.get a grop and back Brian. He has limited resources and an average team in a tough league. We need money off owners not moaners

Agree0 Disagree0

Warnock had no funds? he signed a load of players like norris, tonge, diouf, pearce, kenny, green, peltier. get a grip mate and if you're going to start slating BM at least get your info right!

Yeh and we only just avoided relegation, what's your point? bring back Warnock? we need to stop this short term thinking and give McD time otherwise we will continue to lurch from crisis to crisis.

Agree0 Disagree0

Warnock signed 11 players & spent almost 3 million on transfer fee's plus more on signing on fee's for the free's and then wages on top

Agree0 Disagree0

Warnock Larry and now Brian have all had there hands tied. let's all club together directors included and build a Pavilion for match days buy a radio station and then put new boxes in east stand. that will sort the players problems. won't it.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2013 01:57:35
I just thought I would bring to your attention that many of you are saying about Warnocks botch job yet if you look at results from last season compared with this one, we are a lot worse off. Leeds fans need to open their eyes and not buy into blaming one person and treating them as a pantomime villain. This is a collective problem with the club. Supposedly it is a 2 year plan, does that mean we should keep going to watch each game and paying full whack even though there is not intention of trying our best to get promoted this season. This club and its fans are fast becoming a joke. Wake up.

We have two weeks to get our rubbish in one sock so let's hope BMD does something! Frustrating as it is, we are where we are.let's look forward, not back and let's give the lads club some support. Investors, players and results will come. even BMD has two weeks to reflect and hopefully work out a starting eleven with a fighting chance! Diouf off the bench please.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't be blaming the fans because we have abit of ambition and want to move forward with the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2013 10:03:55
I don't think anyone is blaming the fans! Far from it. We all want to win the premiership! I just think that the passion sometimes blinds the reality! We all love our club and the atmosphere home and away generated is electric! It makes me happy and proud, so many fond memories that still make me smile (Wembley against Doncaster, leeds fans filling up the Donny seats, Southampton 3-0 at half time but still giving their fans so much s**t, quietest lot I ever never heard!even though the result at half time was dire! final result awesome! And no one walked away, we stood firm and believed! we all get frustrated but there is no quick fix and we can't undo what has been done! Let's just look forward and keep the faith, keep turning up and if we can't win on the pitch let's keep winning in the stands. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

But the problem is, the fans are so fickle

Agree0 Disagree0

Warnock was an absolute brainless thug way past his sell by date with absolutely no management skill whatsoever and he didn't give a rubbish bout leeds or fans. i'm frustrated about form and a tad concerned bout mcd but at least he is human, cares, tries to play football and has a plan. Worrying times but have to give mcd this season to prove himself. Realistically we won't go down like nearlly did last year

Agree0 Disagree0

The problem was, Warnock had a season to do it, big Bri has a long term commitment init bro

It is difficult not to slate the players after yet another poor display, the very least I expect is passion, commitment and effort.

However, take a minute to look at the whole current situation, and there does seem to be something more basic wrong.

We have international players in the squad, yet we are made to look very average by VERY average teams.

Some games we look up for it, others not a clue. On occasions we actually pass and move, others we look like 11 strangers. Ross is played in midfield, Poleon doesn't start. McDermotts expensive signings dropped, and in Murphy's case struggling to justify the massive price tag (by our standards anyway!). Byram isn't the same at the minute, and where has the promising Dawson gone? Also what does EHD have to do to start a game?

Does McDermott know his best 11, OR the best formation to suit the players. ?

It's only my opinion, but EHD has to start in midfield to link play, Poleon wide with Ross up top. Mowatt, Dawson and Byram have to come in, together with Murphy, go for a 4-5-1

Youth has to be the way forward this year - if we have another couple of Mowatt's In the academy side, then let's fast track them now, they really couldn't do any worse than some of the first team squad! MOT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Think mcd is changing things around to try and fix the problem. He isn't helped by the inconsistency of the players, they are showing a lack of professionalism with erratic form. Reckon you are right with your pick. Mcd will get it right but he has made a few dodgy signings and spent all pre season and season with diamond which is not working. Clearly a whole lot of players need moving on as soon as practical or possible

Agree0 Disagree0

Get Poyet in quick before he goes elsewhere. BMD is a nice man but hasn't got a clue. when I was at Reading. they sacked me!

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2013 15:26:04
You can't just put all youth players in because it won't work

Agree0 Disagree0

No - we never got anywhere under O'Leary playing youth players. You remember how badly that team did? The one with players like Smith, Woodgate, Harte, Kewell, Bowyer, McPhail and pre-injury Bridges?

As the eternally wise Alan Hansen once said about some other team "you can't win anything with kids."

I'm not suggesting our current youth players are a match for the DOL team or Beckham, Giggs and the rest but age doesn't come into it either way. If you're good enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bridges and bowyer were both expensive signings, I agree with your point though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes if you're good enough you're old enough but clearly most of them are not good enough. I mean do we want a team that cannot beat Sheffield United's Development squad.

If they were good enough for the championship they'd be romping League 1 teams development squads comfortably.
