A point on our Italian keeper. Some say he's a great shot stopper but imo all keepers at championship level make great saves. The difference is some command the area and make little errors. Our keeper cannot do these fundamental things. There is a fine line being a good keeper and a very good one
, what makes the difference is making fewer errors. Our fella makes way to many.
Nigel Martyn is the best shot stopper I ever saw. Why has he not got 100 plus England caps? Because Seaman made fewer mistakes and commanded his box better. While comparing our current keeper with those 2 greats is silly it still stands true.
By the way I still would of had Martyn above Seaman. These 2 guys were different gravy though!

there are good shot stoppers in our league but very few very good/ great ones and silvestri is very good. true is command could be better but then look who he has in front on him, they put him under pressure and do not help, I don't think he makes that many mistakes and think he would look a different class in a good defence.
martyn was useless for England and buckled under the pressure of an england shirt. robinson was better keeper in my opinion and our best ever keeper was john lukic, in 90/ 91 and 91/ 92 season he was consistent didn't make one mistake, command of area, shot stopping was amazing and best in the world at one on ones at this time any other keeper in this form would of been england regular and had we had any other keeper we would not of come 4th and 1st. I love john lukic.
