Right Leeds fans, forget about another bad result and lets think what we want, yes I know its promotion, but do we want it now with this poor team or do we give a manager a 2-3 year plan, get rid of the dross and get promoted with a strong team? As it stands our team would not do well enough in the Prem and would require serious investment. Don't get me wrong, I would love promotion this season, but we need a big run of games without loss. If we don't beat Ipswich then the 3 wins in a row mean nothing.

Players that need to go off the wage bill;

Rakchuba (spelling?) Connolly, Nunez, Kisnorbo, Varney (one of worst signings that money has bought!) Gray, Brown, Peltier (out of position, but if Byram is keeping him out, drop him) Bromby, Pugh and to be fair I don't think Hall will cut it but I hope he proves me wrong.

Doesn't leave us with much does it? I know some of above are on loans and contract runs out end of season, but are they worth picking up wages for doing nothing (we are stuck with injured players) I didn't put Robbie Rogers in as I am undecided.

I think GFH should give us a fresh start, get rid of the dead wood, a mixture of youth and good signings will take this sleeping giant forward.

I look forward to your opinions and lets not be too downhearted, Derby deserved the win, if onlw we had taken advantage of the 15 mins at the start of the second half when we were all over them.

Agree about hall

Agree6 Disagree6

Interesting!
I agree with your post and personally would like to see a long term plan for the premiership,
with that in mind, is Warnock the man for the job?
I think he can get us promotion, but chances are he won't be around for much longer after that. We don't want to be next seasons QPR.

Tom

P.S. We are gonna win against ipswich next saturday, no doubt, I just won guess the gate on yorkshire radio!! i never watch them lose, usually :/

Agree1 Disagree4

Part agree....
I would personally like to think of it like this... we can forgive NW for some of his signings as it was a very tight budget, but most of this squad is mid table champ at best, which is why its no great surprise to me that that's where we find ourselves.

Would love to see us lose the dross in the squad, wouldn't get shot of pelts yet, would keep him as cover for byram, but losing the rest would probably save us 40-50k per week. Would also get shot of rodgers, not good enough for stevenage then not good enough for us, and Drury too...

would like to see us look to build for next season and beyond, so rather than an expensive loan for this season put the money towards someone young and hungry for the long term. The only loans i would like to keep til the summer would be Tate and Thomas, rather not get Hall as we should now be able to pay for better, cant see him ever being anything more than an impact player for us anyway.

Agree3 Disagree0

Keeping Warnock makes no sense at all. His premiership record is woeful because his long ball isn't suited to higher levels of football. If he gets us up we will, at best, spend the whole season a relegation dogfight.

Personally I don't think his hoof ball works at this level particularly well. I know we had three good results recently but two of those were flattering. Despite three wins we're still in the bottom half and have very little chance of catching the top two. And yes I know about Reading but they had a much better group of players and a more forward thinking manager. Derby was a bit of a reality check. They're not a great team but they outplayed us and it won't be the last time.

Going nowhere under Warnock.

Agree6 Disagree5

I agree, all we want is honesty and if GFH come out and say we will give it a good go this season, but we are going to make a team for the long term I would be happy. Lets start with this,

Kenny
Byram Lees Tate Pearce
Diouf Green Dawson Thomas
Becchio McCormack

Fill the bench with a mixture of youth and game changes, not Varney! If we give it a good go I would be happy.

MOT

Agree1 Disagree8

Actually to poster that said long ball doesnt work in premeir league errh yeah that must be why west ham and stoke are really struggling relegation candidates arent they

Agree3 Disagree2

Do we see ourselves as wanting to compete with Stoke? Really? And I've watched West Ham - they play a bit of football - Allardyce isn't all long ball.

There is no long term future with Warnock. Why give him money to tie players into long term contracts when he's already said he intends to retire soon? That just leaves the next manager tied to a load of players he probably won't want.

All you Warnock fans are just short term thinkers who can't see beyond this division.

We need a 5 year plan to get back into Europe, not to compete with the likes of Stoke. We need a manager who can think that far ahead. Remind me about Warnock's scintillating record in Europe. Oh, that's right, he doesn't have one.

Agree2 Disagree0

Dirty Stoke has replaced Dirty Leeds in a lot of fans' minds. I would love to regain our place from them.

You have 2 choices (after signing all the loanees)
1 striker and 1 attacking midfielder/ CF

Striker options :
Craig Mackail Smith/ DJ Campbell/ Johnny Russell/ McGoldrick/ Jay E Thomas/ Beckford

Midfielder options :
George Boyd/ Neil Danns/ Lewis Mcgugan/ Tom Caroll

Believable4 Unbelievable6

08 Dec 2012 17:20:12
Gutted that we lost today but the leeague table remains just as tight we are still only 4 points off the paly-offs, same as before kick off. 12 points off the automatics, this does seem a long-shot but nothing is impossible. We just need to remain hopeful and get behind the boys again on Saturday, this now looks like a difficult game as Ipswich are in a run of form (4 unbeaten). Having said that Crystal Palace were 14 unbeaten, we beat them, Leciester were 4 unbeaten, we beat them, Millwall were 14 unbeaten, lost to Ipswich today, Watford were 7 unbeaten and they have lost today as well. This League is so close that it doesn't matter who you have beaten or how many games you are unbeaten. It all depends on the performance on the day. Let's get behind the team and get a win and give us a boost before the Chelsea game, which is sold out!!!!!!

i see some person leeds fans r blming kenny 4 us osing today, if you were there supporting leeds you would see it was our poor mid n def that let us down not kenny

Believable7 Unbelievable4

This is a bit nonsense. Kenny was directly at fault for two goals, even allowing for rubbish defending he is the last line of defence and should have done better.

As a team we played badly today but it was entirely Kenny's fault we did not get at least a point. He is probably the worst keeper we have had at Leeds for a long time and that is including Mr R.

Agree7 Disagree4

08 Dec 2012 19:28:57
maybe kenny was to blame for the last goal but no more than that .peltier was out of position there 1st goal keeping them on side .

Agree4 Disagree1

LOL kenny was not to blame for any of the goals, lees was at fault for 2 n tate was very slow today so its them that r to blame, kenny made 3 gr8 saves n without him this season we would b in the relegation zone thats for sure. kenny is one of the best gks we have had n i dnt get why ur trying to imply that robinson was a bad gk for us as he was gr8 n so is kenny. fickle fans do 1

Agree2 Disagree3

Mr R is Rachubka and you are seriously deluded if you think Kenny is a good keeper. He makes the odd good save but so does every keeper. How many times is he beaten when he should be saving, far too many. He is our weak link and it is time for him to go.

Agree1 Disagree2

Sack all the keepers and bring back Paul Robinson ;)

Agree3 Disagree1

Kenny has saved us so many points simple as that.

Agree4 Disagree2

Becchio to blame for second goal! Typical attackers defending. You never head the ball into danger zone when your option is to give another corner or to prolong ball out to a throw in. Love Becchio though! On first goal Tonge was caught asleep an Peltiers defending was dreadful - sold himself like a eight years old! Kenny could also done better, but not his goal in my opinion!

Agree3 Disagree0

Peltier yet again showed he cnt defend, game after game he attacks more than defends hes pathetic

Agree2 Disagree0

Some right persons posting here defence was to blame peltier mainly and how can he do anything for the goals 1st one wrong footed peltier failed to clear second balls cleared defence didn't push out and left their lad onside and the last goal was a great finish get back on your high horse you muppets kennys saved us more points than cost us

Agree1 Disagree0

Plz plz mr warnock if your reading this then what the heck get back doing your job m8, but if you are reading this plz sell brown n peltier they r 2 very very poor players n its shocking that at some stage in there career some muppet told them they r good footballers as none of them have done any justice to any team they have played 4. brown is the most selfish player i think iv ever seen, he takes more shots than our strikers n i wouldnt mind but he takes them from miles out n im sorry but he can hardly score from 3 yards never mind 25/30 yards, n peltier needs 2 b told hes a DEFENDER so stop attacking!! love leeds n every other player but these 2 really bug me mr warnock so plz do somethin!

So. Another loss. 3 goals conceded. Numerous chances against us and shots on goal. Conspicuous lack of flair, pace, ingenuity, consistency and know how. Apparently , according to NW before today's game, all we need is 1 more striker to ice the cake. Why is that a legitimate statement? Granted, we have had 3 good wins. But over the course of the season that hardly adds up. We have had a lot of performances with no pace, chance creation and invention. We have kept very few clean sheets- despite Kenny being ' not just the best keeper in the championship but the PL as well'! In reality we are are a jobbing middling championship side at present. If NW has the nous, knowledge, know how, imagination and funds ....rather than just signing all the loanees he has at moment ( because its easy and he has a relationship and calls them Tongey etc) he will look further afield. If we really do have the funds and ambition then we should get a better calibre of player in NOW- either with a view to next season or a late run this season. We are ok, but no better. I know I will be told 1. I'm not a real fan 2. I dont attend games 3) I should be positive and stop'whining' 4) ' In Warnock we trust 5) however Leeds play its irrelevant be a real fan. These are all cliques and these are my views based on what I have seen. My realistic appraisal in light of that- we won't get promoted. That's the aim, and I don't think it will happen. We all wanted a takeover for significant investment? Just because we won 3 games shouldn't take away from the fact that if we are serious about making progress we need some quality players brought in. The end.

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Take over and financial input is to late for this season, at best we'll finish mid table, i , so quick fix signings In Jan are of no use, as much as i hate to say it promotion this season is unachievable , but I hope money isn't waste in Jan trying to get us promoted because it won't happen,.

Agree2 Disagree3

One tough fought slip and we're back to being rubbish? That ol' persistant negativity of the average (in every way) Leeds fan. Come on people, every team has off days. Including the best of them.

Agree5 Disagree6

08 Dec 2012 20:16:35
not even half way through season yet and with Jan transfer window coming up its the right time to have little blips as we can bring players in for the weak positions. i know there is not really a good time to lose.so plenty of time to get promoted even if it means getting 6 th place on last day of season after a decent run of wins .i believe we can do it

Agree2 Disagree2

Haha wonder how many of you after the 3 wins in a row was posting about how we are going to get promoted now this season blah blah blah. So thickle if we win against Ipswich and Chelsea i bet you will all come out saying we are going to win the League cup FA Cup and the Championship until we lose another game then we will be in league 2 in 2 seasons? thats how it goes right?

Will Hughes was outstanding.

Agree12 Disagree1

08 Dec 2012 15:50:28
We are what we are at the minute, a mid table team. We will win some and lose some. If Warnock thinks all we need is an extra striker he is gravely mistaken. Without Thomas today we again had no natural pace with skill available. We need a minimum of three players in January of quality. If we have money available Tongue would not be taking up any of my wage bill if I had the choice.

Believable9 Unbelievable0

Would be good to sign Hughes, but already linked with Manchester teams amongst several other prem league sides, so dont think we have a chance!

Just sat on the coach waiting to leave derby, one word the discribe the performance of Leeds today "GARBAGE "! Long ball after long ball from kenny, becchio hardly won a header, maccormack well off the pace, peltier gave third goal, nobody pushed on to any derby player and the list goes on, I was at the Huddersfield game last week and that was the same team apart from hall, Leeds were excellent against Huddersfield, so what happens in a week to make them play like they did today?, I don't care what any body thinks but it's going to be a long hard season, still love Leeds though and always will, MOT

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Peltier also responsible for goal number 1. Him and Kenny.

08 Dec 2012 15:25:47
Sat in the car park waiting to leave Pride Park, and I'm not happy! Where do I start with this rant? Firstly Lee Peltier, biggest load of horse dump I have seen in a Leeds shirt, the boy hasn't got a clue on whether he is coming or going, simply not good enough should never have been made captain and I hope Warnock drops him and puts Pearce or White at LB! He's not fit to wear the shirt.

Another player who I don't rate is Michael Tonge, I don't think he is good he is good enough to help us to promotion, with the takeover now complete we should be buying a better player than Warnock rejects.

I don't think Warmocks love child is good enough, Kenny seems to casual in goal and doesn't command his area enough, I think Ashdown deserves a run out he's been pretty solid when featured this season.

Rumours have it a deal for George Boyd has been finalised.....can anyone confirm this?

Lets bounce back and beat Ipswich and Boro in the next two home games, would rather points in those games than a win in the cup.

Come on Leeds and Come on Warnock sort it out.

Just watched the derby match. Some of warnocks decisions today are farcical.( Dont start me on peltier)
Michael tongue does not have the legs for central midfield. He was constantly caught in possesion and was our worse midfielder today by a mile. What does warnock do, takes off norris and puts on varney. i dont understand it. lets hope his biased towards his old muckers from previous clubs doesnt cost us a play off spot.

I wouldn't sign tonge in January as I don't think he is good enough. Too inconsistant for me and only looks like he will play when he wants to get a contract with us, once secure he has nothing to play for. We can and should do better. Also defence still not good enough for me as you only get a true picture of how good they are when they come up against a bit of pressure, so still need another body or two. Definately need another midfielder and a striker for when the usual suspects go missing. What was that that Warnock said to Clough? You won't see another team of mine that is that bad. Well it was very close to the original team he had.

Of the 3 wins, 2 of the results flattered us in my opinion. Other than the Huddersfield game I don't think we looked like a good team. A dose of reality today - outplayed and we'll probably end the day down in the bottom half. We are not anywhere near to being a top 6 team.

its gonna be the hardest starting 11 for warnock to choose today against derby mainly choosing between mccormack and diouf and then Thomas and hall. i would think Thomas would still start if it helps to get him signed up permanently in Jan and maybe the same with diouf .i know hall is on loan but things are probably ready to go through and its a step up for him a

Will kb be pulling the strings when it comes to wages in january ? Now I know nw will get a budget, But will there be a cap ? I just dont trust the fact he's there. This is something thats going over and over in my mind, As i'm sure it is for other fans. I think this is the reason people are still on the fence. The fact he is there is because gfh are unsure how to run the club properly right now. Is his influance going to rub off, Or are they just using him like we hope they are ? dp

Believable3 Unbelievable1

08 Dec 2012 09:38:00
its nothing to do with bates how wtag money is available to warnock .gfh will of given bates a total for January and is job will be to make sure warnock doesnt go over that amount.i think they only really kept bates and his staff on as it takes time to find the right people for the job and with takeover still going through and Christmas coming up the best choice was to leave things as they are until end of the season which then there is all the close season to look about .gfh have probably got other things on at the moment that need finishing off as well..as long as we are improving each season we should be quite happy

Agree1 Disagree0

To OP, what on earth are you on about, KB never interfered with wages when he owned the club. He gave managers a total budget for transfers and wages and how they spent that was entirely up to them. Honestly, I can't believe the nonsense that some people will believe.
