If we buy Milner, where will he play? No room in midfield with Yorkshire Pirlo, Spanish Magician, Baby Shack, Tyler the Creator, Jack On 🔥 Harrison, Klichy with Bogusz, McCalmont and Gotts waiting in wings. Full back? How will he dislodge the Cookstown Cafu And Ghost of Maldini Stuarty Dallasy? Suppose he could fill the bench for nostalgia. When promotion is ours and takeover complete, we could be seriously good again. I love you Stuarty. Loved that tackle end of first half 💛💙.

Never going to happen is it George, being realistic. Would’ve loved to have seen him back, but think it would only happen in a coaching capacity now, and even then, a lot further down the line.

He will be back, going to end his playing days at leeds. Granted only if we go up, do you really think we will keep half the players you mentioned it we get into the prem. At best only KP, maybe klich and a few of the young lads, although I would love to see Dallas given his day in the prem.

Stuarty will have his day in the prem. George. Loved his tackle for his yellow then turned too give a bollocking too those in front. He’s a leeder in so many ways. And George. The cookstown Cafu. Is mine . Lol. Him
And family love the club and city. Such a nice and humble guy. 👍👍⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️💙🤍💛.

Was thinking the same George. With what we have and those knocking on the door; plus those out there much younger and cheaper, I cannot see a place for Milner. Much as I regret to say it.

Terrific win, keeps the momentum going. Another clean sheet and two goals away from home. No we did not have it all our own way but we never looked troubled and lads looked confident from the start. Not going to nitpick at performances as it was a team win and good to see Pablo back in the groove. Nice gap opened up to third and with two home games coming up could maybe widen that gap. Not bothered what Brom do we can't do anything about their performances only our own. Got to say whole team look to be up for it this time, and nice to see Casey on show. He has come on a lot as he only got in U23s this season I was not expecting him to be around first team so early but Bubs must have spotted some thing he likes. let's remember guys Berardi does not ask to play at CB but gives his all when he does. Onwards and upwards.

agree 100% but not sure about never being troubled for me our keeper was motm and made a few good saves at 0-0 and a wonder save which was world class at 1-0

think it was more a case of got away with rather than played well. i think a few teams would of punsihed that line up

as for beradi i agree and fair play to the lad but he just ain't good enough. I respect him but in a perfect world he never plays for us again and in jan is sold to team at his level like Barnsley where he can play right back

I just still have a fear of us being in the playoffs and him playing and against the better teams in the play offs he won't cope. just like last year

we need a cb and for me I'd rather see one of our young guns play mid feild as i honestly think we have maybe 4 really great prospects in this position.

Disagree with never troubled, keeper made some good saves and Huddersfield missed some good chances.

I see your point about the chances they had but to be honest i felt confident they would not score which is a big plus from how we finished last season. Agree would rather have had Ben at CB and some one else tried at DM but we kept a clean sheet so all good on the day. Thought Diaz would have stepped up into KP role and was surprised to see him go. Kennah will be knocking on the door soon.

Bermo I like most of what you have to say but why do you always feel the need to pick on a player? Phillips Beradi are the obvious two. Yet for some reason you never slag off the keeper no matter. Going back to that dodgy Italian keeper and peacock Farrell you never put them down even after multiple mistakes. I realize you’re a keeper but you take the union too far!

good point cork i do tend to back the keepers

i did say BPF had to go, i felt most of the goals we conceeded first half of last season were down to him, think he had some wonderful moments and great games but had a big mistake in him as well

with kiko i hate the fact he sometimes plays as an attacking midfeidler but i think that is down to the gaffer, i did feel he had a quality which he has shown this season even if the odd walkabout does happen

to even it up here is a few leeds keepers who i will throw under the bus

kasper anker gankran. aka the hunter. how was he our keeper for so long

andy i played for liverpool even though my wrists are made of jelly londergan

paul if he can play for leeds so can i ruhapka.

I'd add shane Higgs to that list. Lonergan actually was fairly decent in his first spell.

i quite liked higgs. made of glass but when he played i thought he did decent job for that level. we also had a little fella david something i think. he was an amazing keeper but too short so couldn't get to much, if he was three inches taller he would of played in prem.

Worryingly emphatic that from West Brom!
We need to carry on sitting right on their shoulder!

I'm happy they are top. I think it reduces the pressure on us allowing us to keep getting wins without becoming complacent.
Them also beating the teams around us has helped create the gap that has appeared.
They can stay top until the last game of the season for me as long as we are within striking distance.

great point canada maybe it does take pressure off and let's be honest 1st or 2nd makes no difference its not like it gives a points advantage in prem next year.

Bright It's not worryingly but reassuredly. 🇨🇦 has the situation down perfectly. I expect to win promotion after the final whistle in the home game against Luton.

Missed Philips and the white experiment didn't work, he kept slotting into the defense and we had no link from defense to wing/ attack. Philips normally comes towards our defenders and collects ball and sets up the next attack, didn't have that.
But a fantastic result and another win and clean sheet, nice gap to 3rd, two very tough games next. Bowen is on fire, would love him and also like look of Eze.
News about QSi gaining momentum, need a couple of players in Jan and that investment would help.
Alf has to chat to his lad, he can't sign for man utd, needs to wait and join Lufc in summer and take prem by storm.

Depends how you read the game

When we were under pressure White dropped in to make a 3

(KP has done the same away from home)

He made good interceptions and we weathered their storm

Second half they couldn’t keep up their press and our intensity so he moved further forward

Looking it at it as a coach, he’s a young lad playing in a role he’s not played for a few years. It can take some adjustment

Personally I think he did fine and it’ll help his development

Fans are too quick to right a player off in a position after one game or in this case 45 minutes

He could do it again, easily. He’s a class act

You have to remember Dallas can’t cover everyone 😉.

I thought that White was commanding in the second half but took more responsibility for Mounier, who was causing Berardi issues in the first half.

Yep Notts

Shows the quality of the lad

Berra didn’t give much away

You always want players to solve problems on the park, which largely they did

Clean sheet away from home

We go again.

Never doubted the lads quality (to play in goal if he wanted) just questioned the need to disrupt the back four when not necessary.

bit harsh on white,

we have to remember when kal plays there he has the luxary of having white behind him making kals job easier

white had to cover for beradi which i have no doubt affecting him going forward. 1st half he was our most deep player as he had to cover.

Couple of thoughts. Start of season we dominated teams but couldn’t score. Yesterday I thought we were second best for large chunks of the match but produced moments of sheer quality at both ends (3 goals and a couple of worldwide saves) that won the match - this seems to be a recurring theme and is perhaps more sustainable over the course of a season than expecting to wallop every team off the pitch. Second point - away from home we have scored 3 in first half and 14 in second half. Rather than chasing the game and wasting lots of energy we seem more patient happy to wear teams out and capitalise as they tire. Benefit of Bielsa second year. Ps Ben White not a CDM and Berardi still a liability.

Ben White, class act and still developing

Berra, gives everything for the cause

Bielsa trusts him, that’s all you need to know.

Ben White class act, totally agree. Berra gives everything totally agree. It's just how he gives it and his "over enthusiasm" that worries me. A red card waiting to happen.

Leodis

I would rather have a "red card waiting to happen" on my leeds teamssheet than one of the wasters we have had over the past decade who have signed for us for the big payday and given nothing on the pitch

Beradi is limited. I am sure he knows he is no Dani Alves. But everyday he can look in the mirror and say he is proud that he gives 100% of what god has given him. Any red card he has ever been given is because he has been giving 100% and has been bettered. He has never been given a red card because he is a spoilt brat that kicks out (Joey Barton anyone? ) .
Beradi would not be in my first XI, but I would love him in my squad. Totally professional (he has never been found to be driving drunk, or racing expensive cars) and give everything

When we make it to the Premier League I really hope that this man is kept on. Another contract, with a remit of bringing on out next generation. What a fabulous role model for the likes of Davis, Struick, Casey, Cresswell, Gotts, Steven's, Bogusz, Edmondson et all.

Thought Berra was excellent yesterday, and never looked likely to lose the plot! Which is great in a derby match!

I totally agree with your sentiment Axe but would argue with your choice of comparison. Try comparing him with all the defenders on our books (who also have no drink driving convictions) or even any one of the eligible defenders, church goers who still live at home, who we could have bought. No, I fully agree that he is a fully committed, heart on sleeve, defender and playing a controlled game is an accomplished defender. My only concern is that it is too easy to press his self destruct button. Then so difficult to play a game walking a yellow card tightrope or worse still, with 10 men.

08 Dec 2019 16:34:19
i agreee with the sentiment and if i ever met berra i'd love to buy him a pint, in a day of modern day players this guy is old school and respect for that. however i think we have to be honest he is just not very good, he ain't a great right back, let alone left or centre back.

respect his time but every day i pray his time is up. time for us to demand better certainly at CB next transfer window.

Axe - agreed that it would be good to keep Bera around, being popular and a positive influence within the club, but as I said a couple of days ago I'd prefer he was encouraged to start along the coaching route here rather than continue within the playing squad. This would free up a spot for Struijk (or Casey after yesterday's run out) - or, if Bielsa feels necessary, for another experienced head who is better suited than Bera to providing CB cover.
