When i die, i want my wife to take my ashes to Elland Road and sprinkle them . . . in Ken Bates’s eyes!

Has Glen Hoddle showed his interest?

What about Kevin Keegan!!

Just read this weeks 'what Ken said' it is apparent that he wont be in the country this weekend.
So for once can we please stop with the anti Bates chants and get behind our boys 110% and create an atmosphere worthy of our beloved Elland Rd

MOT4life

Believable14 Unbelievable4

He won't be in the country until after the 18th Feb, Anti bates chants should never be in the ground it makes me sick!

Agree10 Disagree5

How about a Grayson chant, followed by a redfearn chant, to the same rythm?

Agree3 Disagree4

Why Grayson chant? he's gone, we should all move on, listen to the players what they have said, look at our performance for over a year under him. Time to move on!

Agree7 Disagree0

Thought he had come back at end of last week? So he is out of country and Harvey apparently on his hols. What a shower we are we could not orgainse a knees up in a brewery!

Agree2 Disagree0

Post about us being a shower, the coaching set up is in place, the players are more than happy they won there last game they are not being rushed into a decision and rightly so, you don't need to do business face to face you know! Bates couldn't do right for doing wrong in some peoples eyes.

Agree1 Disagree0

The post about being a shower -Dont have a problem with Redfern or the players and noone will be happier than me if we managed to go up - which will be done despite the likes of bates, harvey and puppet lorimer

Agree1 Disagree0

Antic to have a manager's interview tomorrow? {Ed013's Note - Do you think he is the right man? How much will he know about the current players? Maybe Bates is thinking of someone that has a knowledge of the current crop and can push them on straight away. I personally think Redders will be given till the end of the season}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Depends on results,if we dont do well expect him to be replaced, even if he does well still think Warnock will be drafted in once hes sorted his compo out with QPR.

Agree2 Disagree1

Dont you think a manager with no knowledge of the squad would be better ,at least all of them would be playing for there Leeds future.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Ed, I agree with much of what you say, but to some extent any experienced manager taking over would soon have the players sussed after a couple, maybe two three, training sessions, not withstanding the fact that he would never have heard of them before.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Feb 2012 20:37:59
think we all need to realise that none of the prospective candidates have any principles or allegiance to lufc-all theyre after is a job and a wage coming in.if that were not the case who would work with nasty ken?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Simon Grayson for one - a man who truly loves the club.

Capello has quit as england manager. I think maybe ken bates has offered him a lucrative multi-million deal to manage leeds united.

Can anyone tell me when the football league window classes......cant help thinking Bates is pulling a fast one by giving redders the nod for another 3 games.

Good luck to neil {Ed013's Note - I think it shuts early March}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Clubs in the Football League can sign players on loan outside of the transfer window following a seven-day period after the transfer window closed on 31 January until 1700 GMT on Thursday, 24 March. Gj

Agree2 Disagree0

Why are Leeds fans so sceptical about everything

Championship emergency loan window is from 8 February until 24 March so ken is not pulling a fast one people! {Ed013's Note - I've heard that Redders has the job until 1700 on the 24th Jan with no money in the pot. At 1701 hrs Bates will appoint a new manager!!!!}

Agree1 Disagree0

I've heard pretty much the same Ed but FEB - lol

Warnock has until then to sort out his contract and Redfearn to win 4 games in a row to show that he deserves full time position with present squad.

It's a straight fight between the 2, no other candidates! {Ed013's Note - Haha, long day! I meant March when it shuts again!}

Agree1 Disagree0

Tell me about long day! Really Ed jeez lets hope i'm rite and your not then for Leeds sake :) the last of Reders 3 games is on Sat 18th Feb, with the next game being on Sat 25th Feb.

That hopefully will mean new manager in place by 24th of Feb....Hopefully {Ed013's Note - Give Redders a chance, he knows the players well, you never know he may do a good job. I was purely stating that the loan window shuts in March and therefore Ken Bates wont employ anyone until after then to stop anyone spending loan fee's etc. Never mind, a very long day!!!}

well done redders go and win promotion and take us up where we belong

Believable11 Unbelievable0

08 Feb 2012 19:43:09
Don't know what you people feel; I think it's very un-classy to brag about the fact that Sven Goran Erickson has applied for the managers' job then instantly attempt to belittle the man. Smugly declaring "he won't be coming" is rather an un-gracious way to respond to a distinguished football coach who has, at least, done Leeds the honour of showing an interest. Having said that; I don't think he'd be the right choice at the moment. Still. We have our pride, don't we?

Believable14 Unbelievable2

Totally agree-all the bloke has done is make what should be a confidential job application.bates is a very nasty piece of work.

Agree9 Disagree1

The whole interview was bates at his worse, belittling errikson and making comments designed to cast a bad light on grayson. Whatever your view on Grayson, he doesn't deserve that, when he is unable to answer back. Bates He should keep his mouth shut and realise that grayson was one of us,and he's not, and never will be.

Agree9 Disagree2

Heard a statistic that SG win ratio was 62% which makes him the most prolific manager in leeds history.now i know he is not the best manager we have ever had,but as mr bates knows you can prove anything with numbers and enough bare faced cheek.

Agree2 Disagree1

Couldn't put it better myself I was cringing when i heard that, ken just continues to drag the clubs name through the mud with his lack of respect for anyone.

Agree7 Disagree0

The figure was actually around 49% - even Fergie's only in the 50s. Nevertheless that's a very high win ratio which puts him second behind Don Revie. Grayson also has an excellent promotion ratio.

I think Grayson will be of serious interest to other clubs and that his sacking was at best questionable.

The poster above who said Bates has no class has it spot on. He's a nasty, vulgar, right-wing, arrogant, mean-sprited character (and I could go on).

His supporters on here, people claiming he 'saved' the club when he did no such thing, he put it into administration, need to take a very close look at what he's actually done in terms of hiding behind offshore companies in Nevis and elsewhere, the vast sums disappearing in rent to the mystery British Virgin Islands based company Teak Trading Corporation, the unusually high amount of 'other' expenditure in the accounts and so on.

Agree8 Disagree2

Not a Grayson hating post but to the person above who posted about graysons win ratio and it being so high, it's hard and wrong to compare what he achieved to almost any of our previous managers considering his time in charge was in league 1 & the championship and not at the highest level. Feel sorry for the guy as he's a Leeds fan just like us and being sacked must have really hurt him despite what anyone says or thinks of him (I do however believe something was amiss which behind the scenes). I wish him luck but we'll MOT and hope Redders can get us back on track - he seems to be highly thought of by the players and

Agree3 Disagree0

How can you compare Grayson with Revie, most of his was in the then first division, not the lower leagues, and Frgies is in the premiere league,no comparison.

Agree1 Disagree0

Regardless of what league we were in, facts don't lie nor do do statistics...grayson has the 2nd best Leeds record behind revie n that's the end of it!

I'm not saying Grayson was a better gaffer than revie but you can only beat what's in front of you at the end of the day...

Agree2 Disagree1

It is amazing that everyone now loves grayson, every week on here hundreds of people were slagging him off now no one disagrees or calls him anymore!!!! all bates again, wont be long and all the slaggers can call for redfearns head!

Agree2 Disagree1

Since when has Bates ever turned down the chance to be nasty and vile to someone, think sven will be remembered long after Bates has gone, what will Bates be remembered for?oh yeah been chairman during Leeds uniteds wilderness years !

Agree3 Disagree1

08 Feb 2012 18:13:03
Come on everyone lets all come together and give the players and readfern are support starting saturday we need to get fear factor back at elland road for the oppostion when all four sides of gound is in full voice we all no teams crumble under the pressure thats what we need to bring back show our players we are right behind them all the way and that can only benefit the performances and most importantly the results

Believable11 Unbelievable0

08 Feb 2012 16:59:34
Good luck to Neil Redfern - if manages like he played then at least we will be very competitive and organised something we have been lacking under Grayson. However we need an experienced Manager who has a track record of success at this level - who will be able to assess what we need during the next few months to have an assault on promotion next year - Neil Warnock ASAP please.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Warnock has to sort out his compo with QPR,it will be sorted by end of febuary?? read into that whatever you want!

Agree1 Disagree1

08 Feb 2012 15:46:24
i see redfearns has been given next 3 games at the least i think that is a bad decision we need a experianced manager quick shaun harvey said in statement when they sacked grayson they have 18 games left and feel a change in management team would give them a better chance of play off but redfearn is not that person if we keep redfearn permantly we will finish outside play off this year and most likely finish bottom half of table next he couldnt even do well with any of the lower league clubs hes managed i dont care wat hes done for the youth and reserves and ex footballer with the knowledge of the game could av done that get redfearn out as quick as pos

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Disagree with your post mate, give the lad a chance, he has the players support so they will give 100% on field - in Redders we trust..!

Agree3 Disagree4

Cheap option for Bates once again and lets face it what a surprise !!!

Agree5 Disagree2

At the end of the day, he and we have three games now to see if Redfearn can cut it or not. I'm fully behind him, because to not be is to be not behind Leeds. I want Leeds to win, therefore I want Redfearn to be successful. If he is and the signs of change are there why not give him a chance? If he's not then it's thank you and goodnight.

Agree3 Disagree3

Hi, I agree with most all of the above.
Players are a fickle lot, their talent starts and ends with motivation.
If Mr Redfearn can provide that motivation so what that he is not an Alex or Arsene.

I may show my age here, but who had bigged up the Don before he took over?

Agree4 Disagree2

08 Feb 2012 14:53:30
I think we're about to turn a corner and go on a good run of games, Redfearn will get the best out of the lads and get us promoted. we need to do our job and be vocal in our support. MOT

Hope too see a lively atmosphere on Saturday, positive throughout the stadium, songs coming from every stand be as loud as possible as us as fans play a big part in leeds' success as well the team so let's get behind them and show Brighton how loud we can be! MOT!

Lets pack out elland road saturday and leave all the negativity outside the ground and lets keep it that way we need to get behind nr and the players from the first minute of the game and beyond we need to make elland road a fortress the way it use to be and should be some come on fellow leeds fans lets show the rest of the football world why we are the best fans in the world mot?

Believable15 Unbelievable4

Great post

Agree11 Disagree4

How good would it be to see a near full house all singing for Leeds, remember sky sports saying how we scared the opposition players!

Agree9 Disagree3

Totally agree lets now wait for the morons to comment as soon as they finish school

Agree8 Disagree3

I agree with this post very much, let's turn up, get behind the lads and let the players know we are behind them.... sing your hearts out for the lads !

Agree7 Disagree3

Looks like the 'MORONS' are here guys, possitive all day then just before 4pm they arrive well on of them anyway!

KB given NR 3 more games to prove himself! I thought warnock should be given the role. he also say sven as applied but no chance and my favourites an 11 yr old with high ambition and a Playstation 2010 tournament winner!! MOT

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Makes me wish I had applied now lol.
Glad he said no to Sven though, Bates has at least got that right. Gj

Redfearn will be in charge until Doncaster confirmation from Leeds!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

08 Feb 2012 13:11:25
Hearing Redfearn talking about how he is working on defensive frailties, it's positive to here and the first 40 minutes of Bristol City is all a really good sign!

Believable4 Unbelievable5

Redfearn already working on team defensively would seem to prove that he can see what the rest of us could that the defence was woeful. Why didn't Grayson see that? Decision to sack him correct on this basis alone.

Agree5 Disagree2

I think we need to calm down about the start Redfearn's made. On Saturday we were generally poor in the first half and were only rescued by Lonergan. One chance for them was created by Clayton virtually falling asleep in his own penalty area.

Let's also not forget that we were only playing Bristol City. To call the first 40 minutes of that game a "really good sign" is a bit over-the-top.

I think it's important that we all keep our feet on the ground.

Agree2 Disagree0

Tickets for east stand £28 on saturday. Prob cheaper in south stand. Get down to Elland rd and get behind Redfearn and the team

Believable5 Unbelievable1

And it is Redfearn for at least the next three games said Bates on Leeds website,is this to see if hes up to the ob or waiting for Warnock to settle with QPR.

Agree0 Disagree0

But Donny and Saints(on sky) Both cat A..Bates doesn't give the fans many cheap games.

Mcoist to dump Rangers for the mighty whites.

Believable0 Unbelievable9

We were quite kind to him back in '92.

I'm a 'Gers fan, too. No way is he coming here, I'm all for giving him more time at Ibrox.

Haha I had to check my eyes couldn't beleive what I was reading! {Ed020's Note - me too lol}

Agree6 Disagree0

He was well funny at Radebe's testimonial mind you!

Agree3 Disagree0

He was good at a Question of Sport, not so good at a Question of Managership.
Hope he sticks to what he is reasonable at, and it is not English football, check out his record at Sunderland sometime, makes Billy one goal look like a superstar.

Just read about lust wanting investors to contact them if they are wanting to put money into our club .Get ready Bates will have his contacts getting in touch whith lust to buy the club ,Then when he's had his fun he will tell all on Yorkshire radio, they failed to show me the money.he will only go when he is good and ready .FACT

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Barca and Madrid not have high expectations?

Agree0 Disagree1

Unless LUST can come up with some big money players this would be the worst thing that could happen. when you are looking to buy top players all clubs lose big money year on year. so all these investors would be investing every year. are the guys running this as hard as bates as not to do this you have to be used to pressure from fans to invest if not you see what is happening now!! they need to raise 100m to get this to where all the moaners want to be. what if he sells for 40m and they get that money in, to remain in profit you have to do what bates is doing or similar, to buy 3 players who cost say 3m each (not much) plus 30k per week wages over years thats a new commitment of 22.5m. plus resigning some of the others, you dont have to be a maths genius to work out why football clubs lose money, most dont like bates but we should keep him until we go up and then investment will come in but not from the fans. MOT

Agree4 Disagree1

We won't go up under the current regime thats a fact, once snodders and to a degree clayton leave in the summer we will be left with league 1 fodder at best, take snod out of the last 10 he has played in and we would be in serious trouble!

Agree5 Disagree2

Bad news for you when were in the old third division league one he was offered twelve million he turned that down saying he wanted 34m so how much do you think he wants now ?

Agree0 Disagree4

The LUST will be a disaster I heard listening to Gary Cooper on the BBC this man is completely clueless at least Bates has a shred of business acumen. Gary Cooper talks of 7 years of lies then he goes and says that he isn't opposed of Bates. Do me a favour Gary don't lie, at least get of to a good start and not lie yourself. The LUST didn't buy Leeds from Ridsdale, they didn't get us out of administration, where was they then, where was they under Ridsdale, or when prof John McKenzie sold our players for nothing remember Kewell’s sale to Liverpool. What a joke we would go bust within a year if LUST got there hands on this club.

Thanks but no thanks Bates in until someone better is available and that isn't LUST.

Agree3 Disagree3

Well said there slogan could be GO BUST WITH LUST!!

Agree2 Disagree2

Wasn't it Bates who put us into administration in the first place with more debts than the club had when he first aquired us. Just a thought {Ed020's Note - but it was also bates that got us out of administration and narrowed them down and turned us into a profitable club}

Agree1 Disagree1

All this talk about lust is what is wrong with the youth of today. what's happened to love and romance

Agree3 Disagree0

Some great points raised , Most fans dont have a clue on how a business is run thats what a football club is . Mr bates is not our ideal chairman / owner but he knows business . Better the devil you know . I couldnt imagine what would be come of our club if the fans took control

Agree1 Disagree1

I'd rather GIVE Ken Bates a grand of my money than invest it in LUST.......

... at least I'd know who's pocket it was going to end up in!

Agree1 Disagree2

If a major player with plenty of money joined the party at LUST who could almost guarantee investment then maybe but cant think of anything worse!! KB as also given NR 3 more games to prove himself, not sure if he fails then we could miss play offs! any thoughts

Agree0 Disagree1

If a major player was out there who could guarentee investment why go to LUST instead of the club?

Agree2 Disagree0
