Whiteman15, I'm guessing that 15 is your age? Why so negative the whole time? After losing Taylor, Swansea CB and then Wood I thought 8-12 position was about right for us. Anyone who thought top six was a banker at start of season was in cloud nine. TC is doing fine by me with the players he has and with no control over transfers. Did you believe we were nailed on for promotion or what?

Ok the manager is still learning the league but is doing reasonably well. Apart from Wolves every other team is hit and miss and I've seen many teams live through my job. I saw Villa twice and they were awful. The good posters on here. gummie Mick George Wex Alf i'm pretty sure all realize the same. Sorry if I missed you out as there are lots of good posters on here!

Bloody hell Corkwhite, that’s a tad vicious isn’t it? We are all entitled to our opinion good or bad, personally I think Whiteman posts good points and in honesty, myself, Mezzer, Aus, Bige, Leodis and many others see it the same but that doesn’t mean we are right does it, but what we all do is support Leeds! We have been in this league for 14 years, it’s about time we were heading the right way out of it by now but we won’t get anywhere by buying cheap crap, if Lasogga was that good why did he come to us, the same with many of the others and it’s all well and good progressing in the U23’s, but we want to be progressing in the Championship. We finished 7th under MC so this year should show further intent but we have a poor squad and a Manager that thinks our strike force is good enough! As a paying supporter, I like Whiteman, Mezzer, Aus, Bige and others demand better for our hard earned money! Sorry Corkwhite, nothing personal it’s just our views whether 12, 13, 15 or 100 year old, we are entitled without causing offence! MOT

Cork writes a good post here. Little to none of what's going on is the fault of TC. He is on a championship learning curve and doesn't have sufficient local talent or players of steel. That's the fault of Orta and Radz. They've overcooked the whole "for the future" thing. Hardly a surprise given their foreign status. I'm not a xenophobe but many of us posters know this league better than they do. Start of season I saw us as either just in or just outside the playoffs. However, all is not lost. A good window buying British talent and we could make 2nd. Over to Orta and Radz. Don't get me wrong though because TC ought to have a superior knowledge of English football by now. This is his job after all but I can give him a season but only a season to bed in. Acquiring them lads from Peterborough good place to start.

last sentence made that post. i'm of the same opinion on TC, the pulis' bruces, rowetts, warnocks of thsi league all know what they're doing and have for years, some have succeeded and come back to make themselves look better, some just don't have what it takes to cut the premier league. TC is an unknown quantity still in my book. 6 months with players he hasn't selected from the same budget orta was given. I'd struggle as would most, can't say he hasn't tried though and isn't implementing new ideas. Vio and the rest of the coaching staff prove that leeds are looking to try new things. It's an experiment and a journey, bottom line is the only people indispensible within this club and the only people who will stay forever are the fans. its not over until FT at QPR, who saw sheff utd, cardiff, bristol, wolves all up there at the start of the year? Be a long 5 months.

Lassoga seems to be a big lump who needs the ball putting on the end of his toe. Grot, to me, seems potential and needs either loaning out or putting in the U23s line up. CBJ, Sacko and Anita are now no longer needed so get rid. I still have faith in Shaughnessy, in a back four, so again, loan/U23s. The rest (barring Berardi) should be playing for their futures, although they should not, in any way, be in this position. My jury is still out and I think that is overly generous.

I can see where Whiteman is coming from 2 Sheds, Spurs would of just used us as a practice match given how we played on Sunday, and good on Newport, they deserve it because they wanted it more than us! So on our showing on Sunday how would you think we would be in The Premiership? Apart from Pontus, Beradi, Ayling, Cooper and Vierra, who else would you have faith in to perform well in the Premiership?, at the moment I personally think we would be coming straight back down! Going by our latest debacle we have a long long way to go! No 2/3 or even four signings are going to make us a Prem team, we need at least six quality players, Siaz and Alioski will probably suit the Premiership better with their flare but after that we need strength, and sadly that’s what we lack now so for me I’m with Whiteman and Mezzer on this. I’ve said this before on here but read Whitemans early season posts, a lot on here including me thought he was off his head with negative comments, but I take my hat off to him because he was absolutely spot on, he saw a lot more than some of us did and what he posted was 100% correct! Think back to Feb 3rd 2010.after a creditable draw at White Hart Lane, we got Spurs back to ER in an FA Cup 4th round replay. Over 37k there that night including me and my youngest and it was rocking. Becchio equalises on the stroke of half time but we go out to a Defoe hat trick (Bale was also playing). Win, lose or draw I just wanted the fans to have a chance of a money spinning home tie against a possible Spurs second string infront of a rocking ER crowd, that's all. Almost certainly some media guru Leodis, That being said, it’s about whether his intentions are sincere, genuine and he backs it up going forwards. Whilst it is an abhorrent thing to do to another person it is more prevalent in the European game. That’s not meant as any form of an excuse but I believe everyone deserves the benefit of another chance. Sure there will be people who will refer to the original allegation but that remained unproven. I’m hoping the club have fined him the maximum permissible but I’m prepared to give him another chance In the hope it makes him a better human being as a result.

So opinions change, mine certainly has. forget what has happened and look at what could. Marcus maddison and Jack Marriot, 2 young, hungry english lads with plenty of potential. If they can make league 1 look easy let's test them in the championship. spend 7m on them both combined from peterborough, if it pays off and we make play offs you're laughing, if not loan them out next year and look elsewhere in summer. These two have what it takes, their movement, runs off the shoulder, link up play. Get the job done TC. Imagine this. Wield, Ayling, Jansson, Cooper, De Bock, Vieira, Ideguchi, Maddison, Hernandez, Saiz, Marriott. Youd have fit athletic players all over the place, movement and intelligence would make us look like threat again both at home and away. This could be your team (come the end of feb due to that beggar saiz) and has the ability to win games. Then youve got players like berardi, shaun, phillips, alioski, roofe, ekuban, dallas all on the bench, not sure about any of you but there are 4 new faces there, and in the right areas, i'd say you're looking at 10 million if you include de bocks fee which is virtually done. Any improvements?

Am I a Leeds supporter. yes Have I been a Leeds supporter for long. yes since the 1950's. I remember when Billy was a lad, Do I enjoy criticising Leeds United. absolutely not. However, if anybody thinks we've have a good squad to choose from they should watch that game today over and over again.

They were absolute shite from beginning to end and they fully deserved to get beaten by Newport who were the better team throughout the whole game. If the future of our club is the likes of Grot and Sacko, then we have no future.

I would rather have seen some of the teenagers that have not yet been in the first team than those two. let's have a look at some of them, Anita, I thought he was a good signing, but now I know why Newcastle got rid. Garbage Borthwick Jackson. How the hell did he ever get a Man Utd contract. Garbage Klich. A lightweight with no quality. Garbage Cibicki. I don't remember one forward pass that found a man in the same colour shirt. Garbage. Lasogga. His loan period should be terminated immediately and sent back to whichever Sunday League team he came from and save his wages for future decent investment. Garbage Sacko. He was crap last season and he shouldn't have been given a contract in the summer. Headless chicken, no end product. Garbage.

The garbage bin is full and it needs emptying along with whoever is scouting and recommending these unsuitable players, even if that also includes the current manager, or whatever title he goes by. I am tired of hearing the excuses and various reasons put forward for poor team performances and I sincerely hope that there will be a change of attitude within the management soon.

I would like to see them sign fewer players but with quality rather than lots of little or no quality. Rant over. By the way its getting harder and harder to get logged in with all the crappy ads that are continuously loading.

Saiz has said sorry!, Is it because he was caught this time? I think he is a good player and probable the best of the bunch we brought in last summer. Spitting at another person is disgusting, no excuse for it. Saiz has now given opposition players a way of getting sent off by indicating to a ref he has spat at them or trying to provoke him to spit. It's not the first time he has done it this season.

Believable2 Unbelievable5

08 Jan 2018 15:17:36
The FA found that he had no case to answer against Port Vale after they studied film. You can bet if they thought he had spat during the game, being Leeds he would have been banned for sure. That time, you can not judge him. However, yesterday’s incident was needless, disgusting and insane. It seems spitting is not considered as badly in Latin countries, but he deserves his six week ban and a lot of people think he should never wear our shirt again even if he is our best attacking midfielder.

It's hard to argue with some of the posters on here but in the cold light of day yesterday was a good exercise for TC and Radz. It clearly showed some who were in the last chance saloon and probably put the nail in the coffin of some who were "not sures" It may have accelerated TCs mind to giving the young lads a go. But all in all it does not dissuade Radz from his x year plan. Not at the moment trying to buy instant success but merely sticking to his beliefs of slow organic growth with a team of young gems ready to takes us/keep us in the Premier league in years to come. You may argue that we have waited long enough but we must give the man credit for building something at Elland Road which will see us strong for the future. What he is doing now may well save this team millions in the future. Taking us and keeping us back where we belong. Who said it would be easy? We are Leeds after all! Let any poster who has not made a poor decision in his life stand up and throw stones. All good businessmen/Managers make bad decisions at some stage (see Ferguson etc. ) It is our job to accept that. By all means point out our differences and criticize but keep faith with the Manager and the Owner and trust that they know the best way forward. It has shown that there are issues to face in the squad as a whole but many will agree that January is not the best time for solutions. So we may not go up this year but if that consolidates our determined push next year, with a settled quality squad, then so be it.

Believable8 Unbelievable4

08 Jan 2018 15:03:44
A few flaws in your reasoning, slow organic growth only works it the product is of good stock of pedigree. The veg we brought is the cheap mis-shapen veg not the good organic stuff. TC has come out and said yesterday's result was his fault, he's the one making the mistakes yes we all make mistakes but if in my job i continue to repeat the same mistakes, then I wouldn't keep that job very long. AR as I've said previuosly, does I believe have Leeds United's best interest at heart . But some of the people around him Orta for instance are very questionable.

Agree1 Disagree2

08 Jan 2018 16:14:01
What I inferred was that the"organic" growth was based on the U23s and others untried. Every new acquisition is a gamble. If you are Fergie, Alan Sugar no matter what potential they have shown in their current job any new hire is a gamble. The more money the bigger the risk. You have to kiss a lot of frogs! but the alternative (on a small budget) is to do nothing. So let's accept that mistakes will be made. Make decisions in the cold light of day, not a knee jerk, and move on. I, like you Mezzer, after 90mins on Sunday would have sacked the lot of them. Only TC and the team know what goes on on the training ground so let, s let the dust settle, leave it up to them. We have been through much with this team this is but another blip. 08 Jan 2018 13:34:22
Yesterday's game was totally embarrassing for all Leeds fans. Comparisons will be drawn to last year's result at Sutton however this for me was worse as the team TC put onto the pitch were players from the first team squad, not a load of kids as of last year. The effort and endeavour from most of the players was appalling (except Berardi) as they were out worked and out played by a side that were near the bottom of league 2 last season. Special mention for Borthwick-Jackson and Lassoga who took being not bothered to an entirely new level, both of these players should be shipped back to their clubs post haste. It seemed that the player's had in their minds that they just needed to turn up against a side that we had comfortably beat in the League Cup not 6 months ago. This attitude stems from a naïve Head Coach who obviously had not studied the opposition or the environment in which the game was being played. If he had done his homework he would not have matched a physical Frank Nouble against the snowflake that is Vernon Anita, he would have thought about how to supply two Centre forwards with creativity in midfield, he would have considered being a tad more direct as the pitch represented a farmer's field. "Blame me" says TC. "I made a number of changes and it worked against Burnley" says TC. It worked because Burnley also changed most of their team and neither side had any continuity in their play. To make matters worse, out idiot of a Head Coach decides to rest the majority of our starting eleven (why they need 2 weeks rest is beyond me) but decides to bring on our Jewel in a game that did not suit his abilities, the result being he gets sent off and banned for 6 weeks. Try telling us now TC that you think the squad is good enough and no recruitments are required in January without you best player until the back end of February.

08 Jan 2018 14:18:56
Good post Notts. Like you say, TC's major error was bringing on Saiz. He double downed on his mistakes. Worryingly, there is a lack of passion and a lack of steel in this team. CBJ was a terrible addition to the squad and as for PML his laziness is infecting the rest of the first team when they play. Makes you think what is going on during training? This is the most crucial transfer window probably in our history because playoffs or 2nd still achievable.

Good posts above, but you can not blame TC for Saiz’s sending off. You don’t expect any footballer to spit at an opponent never mind a professional. That habit is disgusting and he deserves his six week ban, Saiz can be very petulant when he wants. If he had set up a goal or two instead of letting himself, the club, fans and the sport down would TC have come in for the stick he is getting for that decision? I think not. However, i do blame TC for making too many changes and making our club a laughing stock again.

Speedo there were a lot of changes but I don't remember an outcry prior to kick off. That team, on paper, were still good enough to beat a mid table league two outfit. What I don't understand is why TC ( and many other managers) persist in playing the weakest side they think will win in the cup games. I could go along with this if we had a league game within a couple of games. But why not just play the strongest side we have, hopefully get a good performance, a win to boost confidence, and go on a bit of a cup run. The cash generated would buy a player to replace one of the mediocre offerings that were on show yesterday. Two strikers, a left back and Bartley or a midfield the bare minimum requirements needed this month in my opinion. Not criticised TC before this game but I am having my doubts about his ability to get some of the players breaking a sweat for him.

I think in the modern game it is called 'squad rotation' speedy. Its also about having the opportunity to assess some of the fringe players in a competitive match without risking your league position so i can completely understand it. what i can't understand is why these players, who are arguably playing for first team contention, didn't give a better account of themselves. can't or wont?

first team is good enough to put in a challenge against most teams in this division. Fact is if we lose two or three to injury the players we have in the squad are not good enough. There are four or five who are simply not good enough. We know we need a left back and striker to even challenge for promotion. We also need players who can step up as well. If we are not going to try some of the young ones we need to get at least 4 back up players to cover all positions as well as a left back and striker. All the players joining the academy come with big reputations but it looks like they will not be used. Pearce should be playing at left back now in my opinion. When Berardi plays center back in a cup game sort of tells me Paddy may as well go back to Ireland.

To keep it in perspective it was mostly our second string who were turned over in the cup. The sad thing is the lack of fight and grit in the players . Most of them looked like they were more worried about getting injured than the result. Grot needs to go to the development squad as a centre half for a season see if he makes a player . Ship out all the loanees. Orta has big questions to answer if we have paid some of the reported fees for these players.3 or 4 good new players might get play offs but we are still 8 to 10 players short of a proper squad

PLayers like Klich complaining that they aren't in the first team, well, there's the perfect answer - you don't take your chances when offered therefore b*gger off until you have a case.

Bang right about him, Alf! I'd get rid, because he can't be a positive influence in the dressing room with his whining, and certainly isn't a positive influence on the pitch!

No passion for a start only Bera and Philips looked up for it . Our passing was so poor we looked the lower club, every time the ball was in the air we lost possession. It's very clear that these players need either loaning out or sending back the there clubs .

They are talking about if they need new players. don't rush eh! Plenty of time! let's wait until saiz and pontus go and its too late to get anyone. First thing i'd do? Sack tc. Get someone that's got some steel!

Unlikely but playing the party line and keeping the exitsing squad happy - if he said we hacve a load of 5hite it would upset the board and the squad.

I really wonder who is pulling the strings at Leeds, my feelings are that TC is mearly a puppet and Orta is the puppet master. Still believe that AR has Leeds best interest at heart but being blindsided by the likes of Orta. For Me, remove Orta from his post and start looking for a coach/manager who knows this league.

Mezz, why you got to wonder? TC low down in the ranks. Very obvious. Orta calls the shots. If he doesn't perform in this window, I can see his importance in the club being reduced.

When listening to TC on the radio when asked about transfers or even injuries, you could mistake him for being a tad coy. In reality I do not think his has the first clue about what is going on. TC is told which players he has available by Orta and the medical team.

Is there any footage of Saiz incident. Be amazed with amount of cameras at games if he can manage it twice without a camera catching it. Who made decision ref or linesman?

Not bothered about losing today but disappointed that many of the fringe players or returning players didn't take the opportunity they were given. OK, TC can take the blame for picking them but these are players who should be fighting to establish themselves as regulars. The other real damage is Saiz getting himself sent off when we really need him. The only good thing is that it highlights the need to strengthen both to improve the first 11 and the squad.
