Thought on Robert's, lots of talk of him being 'unavailable' due to potential transfer/ loan in the window.
Just as likely to me to be the virus related. Could be positive and isolated and the club would probably say 'unavailable' unless he himself gave to OK to give out personal medical details.

I’d sell him.
Got potential but prob one of those players that never realise it.
Never offers anything when he comes on
Strictly champ level.

Great natural ability but yeah I'd sell, he could go on and have a fantastic career but every little injury makes me think he is going to be a Joe Cole or a Sturridge. Doesn't matter how good he could be if he is never fit to play.

Spot on gummie, I've seen Ty have great games and think that finally he has come of age, then 3 weeks later we hear of yet another injury, he is just too injury prone,

Tyler was out injured a fair bit in 2018 and 2019.

but to be fair to him he has been relatively injury free for much of 2020.

The more pressing issue is that Tyler very rarely influences games and is neither scoring or assisting goals ( 2 or 3 a season) . One good game very occasionally isn't good enough.

But I would still keep Tyler at Leeds as a back up till the end of the season before loaning him out/ or selling him on.

If he was injured theyd say injured.
Either he's talking over a move or something else like c.v. is making him 'unavailable'.

Interesting presser from Bielsa. Looks like Cooper is back as is Llorente (though he's not fully fit) .
Also we won't be starting anyone who hasn't played in the first team before. Suggests that we are taking the tie and cup pretty seriously this time. Hopefully a young bench. So who starts? My revised line up is -
Casilla
Ayling, Cooper, Struik, Dallas
Klich
Costa, Hernandez, Shack, Alioski
Bamford
Really thought we would rest more league starters though.

Agree Gummie but Meslier dosent need a rest,
Shacks, Ayling, Cooper, Davis
Struik
Costa, Pablo, Roberts, Poveda
Bamford
Klich Phillip's, definitely need a rest.

08 Jan 2021 18:40:58
Bambam could do with a rest but if he does play hope he scores 1, 2 or even 3 goals.

Yes I read that too, Gummie. Must say I was a little disappointed. Surely we need to see what our wonderkids are really like. I wanted at least half a dozen but would now settle for Gelhart, Greenwood and Drameh.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jan 2021 20:14:11
I would like to see Bam, Klich, Dallas and Ayling rested but without youngsters I'm not sure who replaces them. Maybe Forshaw at DM if he is back in training. I really was expecting at least Greenwood, Casey and Drameh to start.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed047's Note - Forshaw is currently shown as ruled out with no return date.

08 Jan 2021 21:13:11
Yeah I know Ed, was something posted about a week ago however that suggested he had been seen back in training. That could obviously just mean light training by himself but talk of us loaning him out this month makes me think he is maybe on the verge of a return.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jan 2021 23:25:02
The wonder kids are probably useless as were the last batch. Never mind we can always spend a few million more in the next window when this lot get shipped out.

To be fair Alf maybe 1 in 40 youngsters will make it in the top flight. Your making educated guesses when you bring them in. We have brought in plenty of flops but Vieria, Mesilier, Roberts, Struik, Poveda and Harrison all brought in as promising youngsters in the last few years. Of the current crop Greenwood is pushing for a spot in the first team, Gelhardt and Drameh have already shown they can play at Champ level and Summerville was tracked by big teams. If even one makes it or sells for £5m+ it's been good business.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jan 2021 07:44:35
Meslier yes I will give you that. Harrison was more or less straight into the team in the Champ so we didn't develop him from the youth, Pascal may well make it but the rest have so far done nothing in my book.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jan 2021 10:34:01
How dissapointung

Belisa don’t learn does he. team needs a test and suffers from fatigue but he will match them out to play high intensity. would almost serve him right if we got a huge injurry

This was perfect chance to blood some youth and integrate them into the first team but youth not to be given a chance.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jan 2021 11:15:58
Yes agreed Bermo. We should take one of the very few opportunities to blood youngsters without the threat of potentially losing a massive 3 points. It's a no lose situation. One or two may grab the chance. We may win and even if we do not then chances are we would not be raising the cup anyway. The Villa kids proved that it's possible to give the European champions a good game.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jan 2021 22:24:19
I'd sell he's never done much all be it a couple of goals but not what we need at the moment we need game changers someone to come on and change the whole game he isn't that.

Cmon klopp. Do the right thing. Man up.
Do what biesla would do and field your u23 v villa. I like klopp. Will he? Won't he?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed047's Note - wouldn’t surprise me in the least if he did

08 Jan 2021 10:58:11
Why? Did Dean Smith do the same when Liverpool had to field an under 23 side last season in the league cup because Liverpool had a European game I think the next day. No villa played a full strength team and won 5-0.

Just because dean smiths a tanker dosent mean klopp should stoop that low.
Biesla showed his class.

John Yems the Crawley Town manager is about to conflict all out revenge on Leeds United because he wasn’t given the job as Leeds United coach a few seasons ago.
What kind of pathetic lazy journalism is this, obviously trying to provoke something in the aid of a Cup upset. I really didn’t know we were in the market for another Hockaday!
There’s about as much truth in this story as Donald Trump declaring himself as a closet gay democratic.
Then you’ve got Diego Costa potentially coming to Leeds, I don’t think Bielsa is in the market for a crocked 32 year old who’s wages are in the region of £270,000, why not say Diego Maradona is coming back from the dead to play for Leeds United. Some people should take a few seconds to think about what they are about to blurt out and then realize what they were going to say is total Carp.

I naturally always want the boys to win, and a run beyond the early rounds would make a pleasant change.

However, just like last season when promotion was the priority I consider staying up this year far outweighs any risks with our more important first team players.

Like to see the side predominantly made up of u23s I would not risk Pablo his excellent cameo against Spurs said he was back to the required fitness levels.

Wet pitch against a Team like Crawley who will be looking to STOP Leeds playing it would be pointless to lose Pablo or even Struick for six weeks at present.

Their Manager Yems makes Steve Evans look like an etiquette instructor. It will be lots of fierce challenges and I would rather not take the risk with our key players, we’re not going to win it and tv money says cup run not as crucial as previous seasons.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

08 Jan 2021 04:52:49
Totally agree Class on priorities

And we certainly don't want any further injuries to first team squad players, so in that case best not even play Pablo, Shack and Struik.

Play the U23s only .

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Jan 2021 08:07:05
Yeah, let's do what Bournemouth did every season, that'll guarantee premier league survival?
As shown in comments below, being a fan is about memories. Just think, being a fan of a club who just want to stay in the Premier league, means unless you get an owner with unlimited funds you will never win a trophy, ever!
Plus, WE AIN'T GOING DOWN!, so why not give it a go, as we could probably beat anyone on our day. 🏆.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Jan 2021 08:10:47
Class, BV, that's a big thumbs up from me.

I definitely don't want to see our crucial players being risked. The opposition are a lower league team, let's see which of our successful U23 squad are capable of competing on level terms with those sorts of players. After all, at the end of this season Bielsa and his team are going to have to choose the next set of players to loan out as part of their development.
If Cooper has enough fitness then I think its reasonable to expect him to lead the side, and protect Struick who is coming on nicely. Casilla could be expected to step up and allow Meslier another day of eating pies to bulk up his frame. Roberts could be given a swansong before his muted transfer.
That's 3 internationals in the team, so its not like we are disrespecting the opposition or the competition.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Jan 2021 11:14:54
We are where we are Danum. In a few seasons we all of course want to push on and get back among the competitive teams but for now its our first season back in the top league after a decade and a half away so let's focus on staying up, adding to the squad and then moving forward from a position of strength. Besides I want to see how good these ones for the future really are.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Jan 2021 11:54:58
Spot on Alf and Axe
Danum, if our U23s cannot be competitive enough to match Crawley then it will show they are a million miles off being EPL standard.
This is our first season back, staying up is tbe only priority this season.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Jan 2021 12:58:51
I agree imagine Bamford or the keeper getting injured and we could be bang in trouble

we have great youth. use them. blood them and let them knock on the first teams door

I don't think we are going down but belisa teams do suffer second half of season and a lot of premier league promoted teams start well then fade

I am sure there are many but Blackpool and Norwich come to mind, the started well then faded to relegation. I don't think we will but it ain't over till the fat gender neutral person sings.

I think it's also important that when Haaland joins us in the summer, he's joining the 2021 FA Cup winners. Therefore, play the U-23s because they're good enough.
