The annoying thing is, this is a very poor Championship with no team looking like they want to win it. With only two more wins to our name, we could have been up there in the mix for the play offs and I think we've had a very mediocre season. It's too late now but when you look back at some of those games where we never turned up or the games we should have won, only to switch off in the last few minutes (Bristol City) , we could be actually in with a shout despite being average/ poor for a lot of the season.
I think next season will bee even harder to get out of this league with the teams coming down and increased tv revenue and parachute payments.

Hopefully Villa will drop straight down to Div 1, however Newcastle would be favourites for straight back up and Norwich we'll run club. Leaves just 1 place, so it's going to be tough for us next season.

There's still quite a few points to play for . Who knows if we step up from rubbish to average we may be in with a squeak still, cause as you rightly point out mick, it's a poor league this season .

i have had tenner on villa to go down to league 1 at 12-1 which I think is looking good. newcastle are funny as they should go back up but depends who they keep and if they can invest as current squad is poor and best players (shevley etc) will leave so they might not go back up. I think norwich will but again you really never know in our league. I think it is odd that as the money is makeing a bigger gap the league and smaller teams are becoming more varied and smaller teams have real chance. when I was growing up it was the same yo-yo teams every year going up and down and teams like swindow were very rare now days there is far more variety and the gap has been getting bigger for a long while now. maybe against all logic the gap is not getting bigger and will not get bigger?

i love cats shot stopping and on day he is best in league but he need s to coomand area better and cut out few silly mistakes. if he did that he would be prem keeper no questions about it. good on the old kat.

Think your comment of MOST wanting rid is about as wide of the mark as a Ruddy Austin free kick kjc. Yes, people have slagged him off for not coming for crosses and commanding his penalty area and still will. Nobody to my knowledge has said he's not a good shot stopper so behave and let's enjoy our first win at Cardiff in thirty odd years!

OK kjc I've not been one of them but one swallow doesn't make a summer and for as well as he played last night, he has cost us in quite a few games so these people are well entitled to their opinion. I, for one, rate the lad as a shot stopper but he still has a lot to learn.

think MM got it spot on, I have always backed him when people have said he needed to go but this season has been too hit and miss for him, like most of our squad really. he needs to understand football better and the art of commanding an area and when on form he is formindable and he has saved us a lot of points since being here but he has cost us a fair few as well, the trouble of being a keeper I guess. and I say that as a league and cup winning five a side ledg in goal. many around my parts know and fear safe hand head.

you know what I have not even been drinking. I was checking scores on phone and due to bad eye sight thought it said full time. bad eye sight is great asset for a keeper no wonder I let 8 in tonight. still got there in the end. nearly moaned about how some fans love to comment when we lose but not when we win. didn't realise lack of comments was due to my bad time keepeing lol.

Can't understand tonight's team selection for tonight's game. we have no wingers playing, if we are to win I feel we will need to get behind them. Looks like we will be playing really narrow.

This line up way to narrow and won't create much so how can we expect to get enough shots in, hope I'm wrong, a draw would be a great result just pray it is not a limp performance but that line up says it might well be, can't stand the pain already ha ha.

i agreed with all these comments pre match but we did get the win. maybe the fat man knows something and at least players are fighting for the shirt. glad to be proven wrong as after seeing team sheet I thought we were going to get beat by 3 or 4.

Yes despite saying he agreed with MC when he told him to kept his trap shut, he doesn't seem to have acted upon it. Talk about making a rod for his own back.
I never feel confident enough to predict our results at the moment as it depends which of our many teams turn up. It could be 0-0, we could sneak a 1-0 win. We could get hammered 6-0. Let's see!

i don't understand it, not sure if he is trying to motivate players or if he just can't help himself. hard to call Brighton was a right joke and no one even tried but then players put in a shift and won the next game (although against a really poor side) . be interesting to see the effort of the players tonight. hope SE doesn't go back to being too defensive and negitive as surely everyone can see that won't work. 4-4-2 and go for it. Historitcly they always beat us and can't see that changing tonight but at least show some effort and try and score.
