Let's assume Mr Pastry uses his pen[s] and heyho we are in new territory. Who do we buy? one right and one left specialist fullbacks. Leaving Peltier and Lees to cover all four defending positions. One creative midfielder and one out and out winger with Drury, White and Byram as squad stock. If Somma is able to recover one out and out striker would then do the job. Easy really! In Neil we trust. TeeCee

DR: Séamus Coleman
DR: Frazer Richardson
DL: Sam Ricketts
DL: John Arne Riise
MC: Seyi Olofinjana
MC: Stephen McPhail
AMR/L: Junior Stanislas
ARM/L: Peter Whittingham
MC AMR/L FC: - David Bentley
ST: Jay Rodriguez (loan)
ST: Charlie Austin

Most of these players have not got a lot of playing time this year,but would be quality in this league {Ed001's Note - Seamus Coleman and Jay Rodriguez have just broken into the first team. John Arne Riise is first choice and has played 6 out of their 7 league games. Charlie Austin was injured. Peter Whittingham is also a first choice player and I would highly doubt he would have any interest in a move away from Cardiff. He is a quiet, shy lad, married to a local girl and struggles to settle in after a move. He is settled with Cardiff, is not a big time player chasing the money, I think you can rule him out too.}

Agree0 Disagree13

Wouldn't have thought Stephen McPhail was a move in the right direction, average player but hardly a world beater. I think in Austin, Norris and Green we have better. Also not sure I would class Byram as 'squad stock'!

Agree13 Disagree0

Sam Byram along with diouf and becchio have become one of our most trusted and important players

Agree6 Disagree0

Dont agree with many of these at all.
charlie austin maybe and like you said whittingham wont leave cardiiff.
im thinking
kenwynne jones
nigel reo coker
max gradel
george boyd
matthew upson
i think some of these would add...shrew leeds

Agree1 Disagree0

Why are so many names being mentioned - all we need is a new striker, and an attacking midfielder (both pacey) and a center half and the rest a doing a good job

Agree3 Disagree0

Ed's comments on Whittingham spot on.
A fit McPhail would have been ideal for you but he is not a well boy and his career must be in doubt.

Redbird

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree Byram has been excellent. he is however still a kid and to be dependent upon him staying excellent the whole season is dangerous. Plus we dont want to knacker him before he has begun! TeeCee

Agree0 Disagree1

I'd agree with post above. We only need 3-4 players, CB, MR, ML, speedy attacker. So i would go for.
CB, This is the hardest one to choose. Probably someone from prem thats not getting game time but bags of potential.
ML, Ryan Hall(southend)
MR, Boyd
speedy striker, Simeon Jackson

I dont know why we all think we need a striker we have mccormack and somma to return from injury then Becchio & Diouf. If we score in our next game it is the most games we have scored in in a row at the start of a season for 35 years.. id rather get a new LB and winger that is all id want.

Believable17 Unbelievable4

Imagine if we got Steve Austin at CB too, would tighten the back line up!

Watching darts on sky from Dublin. Lad on front table got card with bates out on it Even the Irish whites want him out

Believable12 Unbelievable1

We Irish whites always did want bates out. I'd say no matter where your from and you support Leeds you want bates out.

I think if G.F.H invest 2-3 million in the january transfer window (if the takeover is completed) then i think we'd have a fantastic squad, maybe not the most exciting but definitely hardworking.
I think these players would be realistically achievable to get, plus we'll have McCormack, Somma and Rogers back. Just some ideas:
Ricardo Rocha (free)- Decent experienced squad player

George Boyd- transfer listed + linked with us decent winger

Max Gradel - a wild card but great player, not sure if warnock would have him though

plus maybe another striker but i don't know any other rumoured targets which haven't already been taken.

Original poster - just thought of some alternative strikers who are decent and we could be interested in :
Craig Davies
Johnny russell-dundee united

From a personal point of view I really dont' want Davies, he is from my town and played sunday league as a kid. He was an absolute t*** He was the diouf of our sunday league, I remember him puching one of our players when the final whistle blew just because we beat his team in a cup final and on top of that he thought he was the dogs! I just couldnt stand him playing for Leeds! Please bring in someone else Warnock!

Agree5 Disagree1

Charlie austin of Burnley would be nice.

Agree6 Disagree1

I think if we threw 2 mil at burnley for Austin we wud get him

Agree4 Disagree2

They got 8 million for Jay Rodriguez, and would probably want a similar sum for Austin.

Agree5 Disagree0

How about either of simeon Jackson or Adam le fondre

Agree3 Disagree1

Just get gradel and boyd and thats enough for up top as can both play wing and striker . if i was gonna get a striker probably have to be boothroyd .

Agree0 Disagree2

Max Gradel a wild card? Hardly, I think you been watching too much X-Factor ;-) He is more than capable of holding his own in this division as he showed and which earnt him a move to the top league in France. MOT SussexLeeds

Just been speaking to one of the lads that works along side of Gary cooper(lust). Told me statement should be out tonight and that they have been in contact with GFH themselfs. Told me things are looking really positive and told me to look at some key points in the statement, that are going to be good for the long term future of Leeds united. Something to do with leeds United and Leeds city council, working togeather. What this entails i don't know because he was in a rush with kids, as he takes them to the same school as mine. He did say that David Haigh has the best intrests of LUFC at heart but still had to answear to the higher powers above. Which tells me me he wants nothing more than to tell us whats going on and what direction we are going in.
So if you love Lust or hate them. There should be something in the statement for everyone. We all want to see are great club move forward again. He admitted that things have changed with them knowing what was going on and who was buying the club up till August. Then things changed and the first lot pulled out and so stepped forward GFH. Which is why they found themselfs out the loop and looking silly.
Anyway lads, hope this helps and i'm just passing on what i've been told. He defo told me to look out for the Leeds city council bit. What that will be, beats me and is for the good of the club longterm.
SGT WARNOCKS BARMY ARMY!!!

Original poster here, The news on the Leeds city council bit is coming out in the next statement. From what i've been told, they didn't have a nuff time to put it in, with everyone waiting for this one to appear.
Should see him at school today!

maybe i'm a sceptic, but has anybody else realised that prior to the everton game the "TAKE OVER" was imminent. I wonder if this was made "official" to swell a gate to a game that was rumoured to be boycotted. I await the next "official" comment from the powers that be regarding TAKE OVER. Prob just before the Southampton game. ???.

Believable5 Unbelievable13

It's a farce. i can see this running well into 2013.

Agree3 Disagree5

I think it could run well past 2013.......

Agree1 Disagree2

Actually it DID run past 2013, it's now 20-22 precisely - lol!

'If you could get Leeds up with a 3 Million budget , you should be the next England manager !' Were not doing bad so far and that's without a budget.

Believable9 Unbelievable2

Equivalent to a striker, a midfielder and a defender. easily doable.

Agree2 Disagree0

Eh
Don't get this post
Is it sarcastic or not
I think warnock would get us up with 3-4 million

22,500 for a derby is pretty poor. Do they not notice that fans won't pay £31 to watch ? {Ed013's Note - it was over 25,000 if your talking about Barnsley game}

Believable1 Unbelievable5

22,500 hundred according to official site ed :)
Bainesyboy {Ed013's Note - They must of changed it then, I could have sworn they said over 25,000 at the game. Oh well, my bad and time for a hearing check!}

Agree1 Disagree2

22 thousand 569

Agree4 Disagree0

Nope ed sorry to say mate it was 22. 569 which could be better but is still alot better than most of the teams in the championship.

Agree1 Disagree1

Im getting tickets to the birmingham game and tickets 36 pounds its a joke would of went to the southampton game as tickets are 20 but it on a tuesday come on lads we need all the support we can get lets get it back to 30.000 .

Agree3 Disagree1

22, 569 according to BBC site

Agree2 Disagree0

Hmm, I make that to be neerly £700,000 on ticket sales alone, then there's the bar etc and the store, probably over £1M in total, where is it going ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Wages, expenditure, tax, and Bates' infamous 'other'.

Agree0 Disagree0

I won't be spending any money at the bar untill they get rid of that crap beer and cider......
