Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

09 Aug 2012 23:43:25
look, having scoured twitter
and the internet i have come up
with a bit of a conclusion for my
fellow leeds fans. please just stay
calm. all the current indications
point to the takeover being still on.
but the reason i find myself posting
is what are people expecting? a
manchester city style football world
shakeup? it surely ISNT on the
cards. these things take time. people
dont usually chuck millions at
football clubs like city did on the last
day of that january transfer window

ive seen people posting in warnock
we trust etc and yes, they are right,
we need to stick togther, but i say in
leeds united we trust. if the takeover
happens great, it will mean much
obviously needed investment for the
club, new strikers, craig mackail smith
or jermain beckford or george boyd.
but lets face facts, this is leeds united
we generally do things the hard way
so if it doesnt happen we have to look
elsewhere

..or i could be speaking total rubbish
and this a crafty way of the lust
getting the investers to sign on the
dotted line and i turn on sky sports
news in the morn and they say were
in talks with Fernando Torres!

either way, in leeds united we trust

I know the majority of Leeds fans already agree with this, but for the minority that feel that protests and boycotts are the way to move this club forward, please reconsider. The only was we, the best fans in the world, can help the team is by singing and chanting more than ever!

Elland Road needs to become the fortress it once was, and that is down to us! So come on, let's march on together and get the club back where it belongs!

WE ARE SO PROUD WE SHOUT IT OUT LOUD WE LOVE YOU LEEDS LEEDS LEEDS!

MOT

Get lost bates go on another rumours site

If the rumour is true and it is still an BIG IF that the takeover/investment has fallen through, now is the time to show everyone that we are THE UNITED. Not slagging each other off.We are all gutted at the moment but we are Leeds.
Lets hope its just a glitch and papa smurf can go a.s.a.p.
Approx 2500 of us at Burton for a friendly on Tuesday shows what we are about.
See you all Saturday, sing your hearts out for the lads.
4eva.

The first replier needs to look themselves in the mirror and ask "what can I do to become a better fan?" First of all get behind the team rather than plotting revenge against the owners. Mot

The 'better fan' argument is pathetic and emotive. Getting behind the team is all well and good but if the players are sub standard it won't get us promoted, and I think they are frankly.

Maybe the 'better fans' are those who are looking beyond the next match, or even the next season, and thinking about getting this team back where it belongs. That will not happen with Bates running the club.

1st replier here. supported leeds since 1966 been in business 28years. met many different kinds of people over the years good and bad. rich and poor. honesty is rare in business and mugs are 2 a penny. so when it all goes tits up look at yourself in the mirror and say could i have done more

Yes, I'll be down at the game every week singing my heart out but that doesn't make me a better or worse supporter than those who feel that funding the Bates regime is wrong. 3 of the 5 people I go with have not renewed because of Bates. They're clever people, 2 of them company directors with 20 & 30 years of attendance behind them. He is damaging the club and dividing the supporters and I can understand and respect the argument for not paying him money

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I will always support my team because i love them like a fat man loves cake. In all honesty, we need to find a better way of showing bates we don't want him at are club. Any ideas anyone because if this man keeps his sleezy hands on are club. I have no doubt we will end up in a lower league than 3yrs ago.

let's forget about the takeover for a bit and look on the bright side, a decent squad capable of being around the play-offs. 2 or 3 more signings preferably a winger, striker and back up centre mid were looking good for promotion. hopefully Templeton, Maynard and young Gomez we have on trail, I would happily take Crainie and Diouf for cover though! Let's stick by our team, MOT!

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Diouf for cover? hes a horrible person but if Leeds signed him he would be by far and away the best player ability wise at leeds so why the hell would he be cover?

Agree3 Disagree1

Diouf would be by far the best player, skillfull wise at the club. I can see this lad been hated by everyone at first and then by November, loved by everyone. There is no doubting this lads talent and with the right one to one skills Warnock has. We could actually be on the crest of a wave.

Guys I read your posts with increasing amusement and wonder why anyone would give an ounce of credibility to anything Lust or its month piece have to say. The guy is a muppet who has a mundane role in life who is seeking some sort of glory providing rhetoric on matters he's simply does not understand. The reality is this Bates has put the club on a level footing it makes profit each year which remains in the Club, he does not take out a penny and hasn't done in all the time he has been Chairman.
This season we have recruited a top manager and bought 11 new players who have delivered a good pre-season. We have to sell to balance the books and thats the reality of the Division. Snodgrass was offered a good contract to stay but chose to leave for more money. The Club needs to balance it's books and will only survive if it does. No Yorkshireman has come forward and offered financial support so if you really are true Leeds fans stop the moaning support the Club and be thankful one still exists to support. We are as well placed as any Club in the Division this season to be promoted so shout loud and be proud.

Another 1 of the bad days for us loyal Leeds United fans was today! ......Anyone else think that there never was a takeover or investment happening & this was a great big hoax to try & get bums on seats for the start of the season?.....
Another low for us Mighty White fans who've had a miserable decade of many downs (Relegation from the Premiership & Championship) & the seldom up (e.g. getting promoted from League 1) Sorry to sound negative but I don't see us finishing above last season's 14th position with the team we have. We struggled against Burton Albion, we have signed mediocre players mainly from a team relegated & freebies, only one worth any decent money was Lee Peltier, was wishing great things & again been dashed, hidden behind many promises once again....Come on Neil & the players work your magic! We loyal fans deserve some success.

ed what do you think of the statements released by everyone today and what the current situation is atm? i personally think that the prospective buyers are using the lust to make bates sign the original deal quicker and the os statement is being used by bates to start a bidding war and scare the buyers into signing his contract. I still remain optimistic and believe finally we will be promoted. with or without bates. MOT

White Pumpkin {Ed013's Note - I am thinking 2 things. The first is a little far fetched and I question, was there ever a takeover? Or was it a ploy to sell tickets and announce it has fallen through 2 days before the season starts! I mean come on, everyone else's takeovers happen in weeks, not months!!! I said it was a little far fetched! My other theory is that either someone else has come in with a bid and Bates wants a bidding war or Bates is pushing his luck and testing the water to see if he can squeeze more money out of them!}

Now i am the eternal Leeds United optimist (I thought we would come back from 5 - 0 down against Blackpool with 10 men and 7 minutes left). What if Bates has issued this statement to hurry along the due diligence process because the potential investors and their Agents are being a bit slow. What if some other investor has expressed an interest via an Agent at a better price and Bates wants to up the ante. What makes me think the deal is still on is that Harvey has apparently gone to Monaco. This can only be for further discussions with Bates. If the deal had have been off a simple phone call to Monaco would have sufficed. Forget what LUST say, don't forget Bates hates those people and he is as much likely to let them know what is happening than Leeds coming back from 5 - 0 down. JD

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Sorry mate but the word is Bates has hiked up the price at the last minute and I find that very easy to believe...

Leaks also suggest that Harvey is absolutely furious with Bates and whilst this is not 100% reliable, it does seem that the most reliable information up to now has come from LUST. Everything they've stated has turned out so far to be true - which is one in the eye for the anti-LUST Bates lovers on here.

I'll be an optimist at 3pm every Saturday (OK a bit earlier for the televised games and a few midweeks but you know what I mean) but a big part of me thinks Bates engineered this situation.

The club will go nowhere with Bates at the helm.

For what it's worth I don't think we should be chanting Bates Out DURING the games because it's counterproductive, and I say that as a passionate Bates hater, but we need to find ways of making our feelings for the man clear.

As for you pro-Bates apologists - I hope you realise now how misguided you all are. Bates is vile on every level and HE DID NOT SAVE THE CLUB. He put into administration, cost us 25 points and presided over our relegation to the third tier of English football.

Agree2 Disagree5

^ just shows your ignorance, just because people are anti LUST doesnt mean they are bates lovers far from it, we just prefer to support our team than aimlessly shout bates out in ER when he is in monaco anyway, our voices are better off being protested before/after game and during the game getting behind OUR TEAM.

Agree5 Disagree2

Also the comment i put above wasnt aimed at you as you said you dont agree with it during the game but it is LUST that brought all that negativity to ER, i am a bates hater and want him out but i also want LUST out.

F*****G GUTTED.

Speechless.

I know we would all love to show our anger in some way towards Bates...only problem the way to hit him is through his pocket and most direct route is via ticket sales. Unfortunately, any action will reduce the chances of the club ever being sold, and that wont help LEEDS UNITED. We will get through this, after all, WE ARE LEEDS.

Maybe this consortium wasn't our savior after all, who knows, there could be a line up of richer suitors.

I believe that what we are witnessing is a very public display of corporate brinkmanship.
The Middle East Consortium (MEC) let Ken Bates know that they are tired of waiting for him to sign the takeover papers and are very willing to walk away ( LUST report this as the breakdown) and Ken replies by ending the exclusivity granted to the MEC hoping that other players will join in.

Only problem is that Leeds United are in the middle and if no new players arrive Ken will have to find funds from somewhere to finance the upcoming season. He knows he is on borrowed financial time otherwise he would not have given any credence to anybody hoping to buy Leeds United.

Remember the MEC have shown KB the money and have passed the "Fit and proper" test to own a football club.

I believe that there are still a few surprises in store before this "Soap" story has a happy ending.

Keep the Faith

As I've said on here before who wants to take over a team with no ambition poor fans and a selling team the only thing you have to look forward to is trying to stay up this year thanks for making me laugh about you little team Paul itfc

Agree0 Disagree7

To the person town fan above, they have no ambition because of Bates the chairmen are the only people that can allow the ambition of manages to be realistically achieved so if anyone took over that point is completely invalid, also we have a far bigger and more loyal fanbase hence why little ipswich fans like yourself at that board with the goings on in your clubs you look at a LEEDS rumoursite good job at being a brilliant fan for your own team haha

Agree3 Disagree0

You may be right about Bates's lack of ambition, but the support? Really? 3,000 down at friendlies in Cornwall? The highest away crowds of any club in any division in the country - 8,000 at Arsenal, 9,000 at the Scum Sh*ihole. Grow up and look at the facts. And as for Ipswich - would;t you be better off supporting that team in the premiership run by that chef woman?

Well the long mooted LUST statement was released on there website, where we were to be given some insight into the "Collapse" of the deal. What we actually got was a re hash of the Official Leeds Utd statement, and no detail what so ever about why the deal has ended. Plus the fact that the deal hasn't collapsed, it appears some sort of last minute haggling over price is occurring, with LUST being used by the potential new owners to highlight the precarious nature of the deal. But for us mere mortals, we just want an owner who wants to invest in the squad...please get on with it, so we can consign Bates and LUST to history

Believable5 Unbelievable1

LUST statement came first. Get your facts right. LUST have done the supporters a great service by attracting buyers in the first players and giving as much information as they could without prejudicing the negotiations. LUST is an open group and YOU can join for a few quid. Go ask Bates if you can join his board of directors and see what reaction you get.

LUST is a group of Leeds United supporters with the long term interest of the club at heart. Bates is out to exploit us. The sooner people like you realise that the better.

Agree8 Disagree4

NO! LUST are only interested in their own opinions

Agree1 Disagree4

LUST do knot know anything about the takeover, there attitude is disruptive at best and potential fatal to the deal going through, you are clearly a LUST supporter blinded by your hate for Bates!, i am not a Bates supported or a LUST supporter i am a Leeds United supporter so i take offense at you describing other Leeds United fans "people like you" please go and stick your head back in the sand.

Agree3 Disagree5

Agree2 Disagree0

I'll stick my head back in the sand when you take yours out of your arris. Lust cannot cause a deal to break down and they knew plenty about it. Bates is and always will be the problem, well him and people like you who obviously do support him.

I think Diouf would be a great signing! As much as I hate the man, I think he can do a job. Save us spending on snoddy's replacement and invest more on a striker. It would be an excellent free signing! And is there really a more suitable club for him? Hated manager, hated chairman, hated club, hated fans! No one likes us, we don't care! For free, can we really complain?

When are some Leeds fans gonna wake up? We are run by a man who hated us for years. He has now had us hitting this website and the OS web everyday for the past 3 months of faint hope something great was going to happen. We believed it! Then a few days before the season we have been kicked in the teeth yet again. Yes we have the best fans in the country, Yes we have the loudest fans in the country, Yes we have the most LOYAL fans in the country - ....and Bates knows this!! He is taking us for a ride yet people say to turn up, sing your hearts out for the lads, support the team, and yes, spend YOUR hard earned money. I truly dont know what the answer is but i feel Ken knows how loyal Leeds fans are and somehow we need to hit him where it hurts! This cant go on! All I can hear in my ears at the moment are other clubs fans singing - Lest all laugh at Leeds' and i dont want to hear that! PA

Ken Bates moves the goal posts at the last minute...code for asked for more money at the point of sale. His behaviour is so unbearable. You can imagine the thought process, we have signed 10 players and sale of tickets is going well, he thinks the club is somehow worth more now, what he doesn't realise is the fans have been positive and coming back to the fold because we all thought he was leaving and new owners who actually want to invest in the squad were coming in. By asking for more he has cost himself a fortune, the fans will disappear, the atmosphere will be toxic, a few bad results and Warnock may walk...then see how much Bates gets for a League one team

I think bates realises we don't have many "assets" left to sell so he knows it is wise to get rid. Don't lose hope yet I haven't and I hope bates wants out as much as we want him out and the new owners want in as my much as we want them in

Cue the support your team or shut up comments. Don't you just realise that is exactly what he wants? That's just called blind loyalty and it's a sad fact that while there is a certain breed of 'I've been to more games than you' brigade on here, until people stop lining the old c***s pockets, he will remain in charge taking your hard earned and laughing on his yacht in Monaco at the demise of LUFC... he doesn't give a flying f**k about Leeds United.

Leeds United ('The Club') announces that the exclusivity period granted to a potential investor as mentioned in the statement of 26 June has ended.
The Club remain happy to continue discussions, but not on an exclusive basis, so as not to prevent other options passing.
The first priority must be to ensure that the credibility of any future investor or ultimate owner is such, that the Leeds legacy and its future is in safe hands, back in the Premiership.
The Club will continue to be receptive to approaches from potential new partners who can establish that they have the necessary credentials.
Meanwhile, it is encouraging that there is a new spirit at the club under the management of Neil Warnock and his ten new signings.

great idea on another website, why dont we use posters of Noel Lloyd to spearhead any batesout protests, he was leader of an anti-bates movement in the 60's when bates tried to become dictator of a small caribbean island. Say for example you owned a different club like Portsmouth which you have no connection to, you wouldn't care what the fans think, you'd just be interested in lining your pockets. I agree that bates has overstayed his welcome but understand he"s a business man and doesnt where his heart on his sleeve even it comes to Leeds.

We're just lucky we have Neil who is doing a fantastic job and will get us promoted if it kills him. That's the type of guy he is, Passionate about football.

Danny {Ed013's Note - Danny the problem is that Mr Bates had agreed on a price and 2 months later wants more money. Tell me exactly what do Leeds have to offer apart from a big fanbase and potential. We have sold the captain and therefore only really have Becchio and McCormack to sell that are worth over a million. We don't own a ground or training complex, so to be honest asking for more goes back to my original question, what for?}

After reading the club statement. Well what can I say. To me it looks like bates never had the intentions of selling the club in the first place. In fact they are just words, just simple words. but in fact the simple words have caused distress for many a loyal fan. The club now says they will work with partnerships, that doesn't sound like a takeover so once again words. At this time I feel sorry for Neil Warnock as I feel he as a uphill challenge. So for me this is NOT a new start. I will still support my team as I love this club but I do wish Mr Bates would sell up because we're going nowhere with him. I feel at this moment very duped but alas I still have my thoughts as well as my words

OS have stated that the period of exclusivity with the investor has ended and is now open to other investors. In other words, everything has come crashing down, if it ever even existed. I came on here and had a go at the pessimists and boy do I now feel daft. I have always tried to be a voice of reason and support our owners etc but no more. I have officially joined the Bates out clamor. Starting against Ol Ed, for the first time my voice will be joined with theirs. {Ed013's Note - I have to be professional on here, but I have voiced my opinion @LeedsEditors on twitter to how I really think}

Hi,

Went to go watch a local friendly
with Exeter and I was
very impressed with a Midfielder
called Jimmy Keohane.

He was very creative, was all over
the pitch and his passing was
excellent.
Did a bit of research on him and
apparently he came over from
Ireland and played from Bristol City
but got injured and was loaned to
Clevedon Town. Then was unlucky
with the down turn with the economy
that he was released from Bristol City.

A lot of Bristol City fans would like him
back.

One for the future. Has attacking
potential from Midfield.

Might be worth a punt from Leeds.

and No I am not an agent or friend.
I was just on holiday and watched a
match as a neutral.
I just enjoyed his style of play.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Is he free

Agree2 Disagree0

He plays for Exeter and as far as I know he's on a contract, so maybe some money involved for a transfer. He's only 21 but like the OP I was very impressed to. Great passing ability and hard to mark. My Dad said he reminded him of Hoddle, good vision and passing, but I'm too young to know.

Hi,

Been a lifeloong Leeds fan and went
to the Leeds v Burton game.
Was not impressed and am very
concerned with our lack of pace
throughout team.
We looked Slow....

On the plus side though Rudolph
Austin looks good, Tom Lees very
Impressive, and the young lad no 24
very good for Future.
White showed some good touches,
needs more confidence to take
players on but the rest average to
poor including Jason Pearce.

We need pace, up front and on the
wings. Austin looks good enough to
pass the ball to them.
Do we not have any youngster
coming through? Give them a try.
If not let's raid Man U, Man C,
Chelsea, Totenham etc....
or better yet Barcelona! :-)

Ok the takeovers off. Is it suxh a bad thing? Look at leicester last year. They spent 10 million and they didnt go up. We have a squad more than capable of winning promotion. With 1 more striker then we can definately do it. If we get promoted this season, what does it matter. In warnock we trust. I hate ken bates as much as us all but if we go up then who does it matter who is running the club? Lets forget all this boycotting stuff and instead of protesting, buy a ticket and get behind warnock and the players. Forget bates, he's nothing. But us fans, we're the most important thing about leeds united.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Leicester had a manager that didn't know the league and they over paid for players . if warnock spent 10 mil we would be mid table in prem next season . this season will be a disaster . we need a right winger and a striker at this moment in time . looks like we are selling pugh and rogers so thats 2 more squad players needing to be replaced . i was thinking around 8th with our present squad and top 6 if we brought in a RW and a ST but now only see us battling against relegation as we will not be getting any icing on the cake players now . warnock wants pace so he lists a pacey player in rogers .well done you person

Lets not start the boycott talk again
The solution for our fans attending
the home games is simple, spend
nothing other than the minimum eg
ticket price and thats it show your
support for the team and Warnock,
no programmes, replica shirts, beer
or food etc.
Buy your shirts away from the
official shop at the ground go to
JJB or such like, (yes i am aware
they get a percentage of the sale
but its nowhere near what they get
when you buy a shirt at the ground) have your buy beer at one of the local pubs near
the ground drink away from the
members bar or ground bars,
take your own food, sweets,
flask etc
Then we only affect the finances and
not the support

E-mail I have just sent to Leeds United.
Lets hope I get some sort of reply.

Hello to whomever receives this e-mail,

As a long time supporter of this amazing club let me be the first to thank all the staff and people that create dreams for fans all over the globe.

Whether this e-mail gets to Mr Bates I do not know but I still want to try anyway.

Mr Bates,

You sir, saved our great club, I am so pleased that you did that and believe that your heart IS in the right place regarding our club. Or your club if you want to be pedantic.

I love this club with all my heart and am a subscriber to LUTV yearly and do not miss a single game including pre season.

Let’s get to the point of the e-mail though, it has been reported that the takeover pending has collapsed, and whilst I never listen to the wannabe personic statements from LUST, it still sends shivers up my spine knowing that we are not going to be able to be a bit more ‘expansive’ in signing players and our quest to return to the Premier League. It is also reported, which I’m sure you know, that it was yourself that ‘moved the goalposts’ at the last minute regarding this prospective sale. Whilst most fans will not show their gratitude to you for what you have actually done, that does not stand for the majority of us who are forever grateful to you. I do though feel that you personally have taken us as far as you possibly can within this league, and that’s not a bad thing by ANY means necessary. You have created a future for us and given us and future generations a chance at returning to where we actually belong.

If you did sell now, you could hold your head high and say “I did that.” And we will never forget you for that, I know you are a business man and the main motivation for business men is to earn money, but doesn’t the recognition speak any value either?

Please Mr Bates, give us the chance to return to the glory lands, if that be with you, then release some funds for Mr Warnock to take advantage of, if you cannot do that, please let someone else have a go.

I am praying I win the Euro-millions so I can give some money to the club myself to get a few ‘marquee’ signings!

Thank you very much for spending the time reading my e-mail and I hope I warrant a reply.

Best wishes and Kind regards to you and everyone else,

Leeds fan for life,

Mr. Anthony Ward

The takeover saga that has quite literally took over the lives of Leeds United fans, has now collapsed months after it was first revealed to be in the motions.
The Leeds United Supporters Trust have fought tooth and nail to gather up to date information, to inform the masses of how the dethroning of King Ken is gathering momentum. Sadly, if your foolish enough to pay for a match day programme on Saturday, you will find the infamous notes on a postcard from Ken Bates , the postcard being on a yacht in Monaco of course. The contents will mostly read they were con men who didnt have funds or the fans protest from two years ago put them off.

So Kenneth Kenny Boy Master Bates all round con man, it is time for you to take one hard look in the mirror, and realise that you have more than outstayed your welcome at Elland Road. Your odd cameo in the directors box is met with less cheer than Mel Gibson at a Bar Mitzvah.

This is actually not a bad idea, can't see many people going for it and the players might be hacked off a bit but it'll show somebody that we're p***ed off
DonnyLeeds

Agree0 Disagree0

How would it not have a negative affect? all the players are saying how they cant wait to play at elland road infront of such a big crowd a team with no fans = probable relegation.

Agree0 Disagree0

What would the point of that be? Give bates your money, players have no support and yo get nothing for your dollar!

Agree0 Disagree0

That is a crap suggestion and will only hurt the team, not bates. If you want to hurt him then don't buy the ticket, go to Elland road and cheer the team on from outside the ground?

I'm not sure of what to make of the comments made by LUST. On the one hand I find it believable that the deal is dead, and that Bates has done his usual in killing the golden goose, but I also have a feeling that LUST demanded an update from the club a week ago about the takeover, and got nothing, they looked impotent, and are in the process of playing hardball, ie trying to force Bates to make a statement on the takeover by making claims of a collapse. I'm not sure about LUST I think all the Tv/Radio interviews have got to there heads. If the deal is dead, due Dilligence will have come to an end therefore the potential investors could make there own statements, they wouldn't need some fat bloke from an unaffilitaed fans group to do it for them??

Dear Leeds United Supporters, I posted two months ago how excited I was that a takeover deal for Leeds United was in the works. Now this news. I have been a Leeds United supporter since 1969, a Yank who was invited to Elland Road to watch Leeds play Derby County. I was hooked. I live for Leeds United and know a few of Revie's legends personally. The news this morning is awful. I moved back to the USA after living in Yorkshire for 36 years. I am thousands of miles away now but still feel for all of my fellow supporters. Perhaps we should have not gotten so excited with the idea of new owners at the beginning knowing the track record of the current owner. But I feel sick that this has happened. Twice a year I visit the UK and my daughter and I come to Elland Road for a couple of games. Of course I have to have the new shirt to take home so I spend money in the shop. I am due to visit again in October/November and planned to buy tickets for the Charlton and Birmingham games thinking new owners, new manager, new players. How good did that sound? Well today's news has changed all of that. There needs to be a change at Leeds United for the fan's sake. Until that happens I will no longer be attending matches during my family visits. Sorry guys. One day this will happen and the sun will shine over Elland Road again. Regards, Stephen from North Carolina. {Ed013's Note - I feel for you, we will have our day}

If the takeover has collapsed, it has done so over a trigger clause determining that KB has a 2 Million GBP Liability to pay- as a result of selling at this time.
Clearly KB doesn't want to pay this but nor do the proposed investors

You can view this both ways
Old KB is wanting the best deal possible for HIM as
Always and is standing in the way of progress for our club again

Or

The investors don't have that much money if 2Million is such a stumbling block.

Given we look like remaining under KB I would like to ask how a club he boasts so often are well managed and make a profit have once again raised more funds through selling players (including their best) than they have on purchasing new talent.

Anyone can run a business and make a profit if all you do is asset strip it for short term gain

Either way I suspect we need to just support the team as always as I am sure NW will provide us with a hard working and comitted team

Pretty good news that Pugh is now transfer listed, I do not think he is good enough, espeically for a promotion push, we need some quality and he doesn't bring that to the squad, however I am a little surprised by the transfer listing of Robbie Rogers, a player who we have paid a season's worth of wages to for what 1 performance albeit he was unlucky he got injured, I think he should have been given a fair crack but if we need to find funds I guess these would be our 2 weakest players that weren't listed at the time. this is just a disaster.once again bates looks like hes played himself a blinder.yep reports deal looking less likely.so what we have done is sell our best player and again have a surplus on nett income with players.but snoddy off wage bill was one of higher ones.so bates well in.
for me warnock has done brilliantly to get in who he has for next to nothing, but the problem is he now says he has to sell a couple of first tem players to get in who he wants..who would generate cash?.cert not nunez or paynter..so it looks like mccormack,i mean we surely cant improve his contract with no takeover as reported.

Let's clear this up as there are lots of stories on here about the state of the takeover. LUST have had contact with an intermediary who in turn has direct contact with the buyers. They have also had direct e-mail contact directly with the buyers.

Gary Cooper is an honourable bloke and I am 100% convinced that he is not lying about this, and would tell LUST's membership every detail available that can be made public. Think about it - what does he stand to gain from making this stuff up? He's putting his own reputation on the line here.

If there is anything for Leeds fans to worry about, it is Bates now killing this with a change of heart, due to increased season ticket sales, or indeed kill it because it was all a scheme to sell season tickets and he always intended to scuttle the discussions at a late stage.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

There are enough conspiracy theories on here to write a Hollywood Blockbuster! If the takeover has come to a halt, then just maybe it could be that the buyers do not have enough cash. If Bates was bleeding the club dry then would he have sanctioned the addition of 8 new players (with maybe more to come) whilst getting rid of less than half that number. If the bad feeling on here about Bates shows itself during the games, as it did last season, then I can see us losing a lot more games at Elland Road this year. Just get behind the team and forget about the chairman!

This is not a rumour, its a fact for me. Everyone who is singing bates's tune and talking up about what this man has done for are club. Let me ask you this, what the hell is he doing now, if he is are saviour and knight in shineing armour.
The man has ripped all are assetts out of the club and left us to pick over the bones. Why is he not jumping to the rescue on his trusty steed( shaun harvey).
Instead he is watching us all go through the ringer. Knowing all to well us loyal supporters are still waiting for some real investment. Why when he is such a star to some people and we are no longer looseing money, Do we still not have a full and complete team, i ask you'se.
I would also like to say. Don't you think it's abit strange that every good player we have had. Bates has turned round and told us, these players have been sold because they are to greedy. That in my book is to much of a coincidence. I feel mr bates was looking in the mirror when he made that statement.
Ask yourselfs fellow supporters, when the takeover does'nt go through and bates blames someone else, are we really going to be so gullable again.

Can't believe what I'm reading here. I have no love for Ken Bates but to suggest he sold our best players to put money in his own pocket is incredible.

Snodgrass, howson and Johnson left us because the Premier League beckoned to them, more money and more exposure on TV etc. Imo it wouldn't have mattered how much money the club offered them they were going. The players themselves said this was the case so get real. I don't blame them at all for wanting to better themselves, I do question going to Norwich City unless they feel it's a stepping stone for them.

The problem with us Leeds fans is that we have a warped sense of reality as to where the club is now. Yes, we are a sleeping giant but unless this takeover takes place that's all we'll remain.

Whether we like it or not and for whatever reason, Ken Bates ensured we still had a club to support and has made us financially stable, enough to entice interest from a foreign buyer. Those of you who cannot see these things are blinkered by hatred.

We should be glad that our squad has improved tremendously and I'm confident NW will sign a couple more players. Just get behind the team and NW and see how we go, after all the Elland Road roar is worth many points to us and the team will respond to us.
