Some players are average but under certain managers play to a much higher level. Just can't see White responding to Lamplard in the same way as Bielsa. TBH I don't think the Russian mafia will put up with Frank's naivety and poor return for $$ spent. I don't believe Lamplard has the man management skills required to get the best out of players and thus will fail (spectacularly I hope) at that horrible club.

Honestly don't think we will be buying White and not for anything over £15m. Forgetting about the paper reports saying we have bid £25m. Cannot see Rads spending that kind of money on one player and nearly all our transfers are done below the radar.
We need about 6 or 7 players and blowing over half the reported budget on one player just don't make sense to me.
Couple of loans costing £5m for both, three off radar players from the continent costing £5m each and a couple of decent players from UK, up to £10m or £12m each that's £40 to £45m spent.
I would sooner take a chance with what we have and bring in some potential than give Brighton £40m plus Ben White.

The more I digest and deliberate the Ben White situation the greater the realisation that BW will sadly in all probability not be coming back to Leeds United as
1 Brighton will either not sell BW this season or
2.Sell BW for extortionate overpriced transfer fee of £40 million to either Liverpool or Chelski

If Radz is serious about BW I think he’s got to up his bid to about 32 Mil. Tony Bloom knows that we are desperate to sign him and will push to receive the maximum payout. Is he worth that amount? The answer is unequivocally no.
Can we take the chance with another CB who may or may not adapt to Bielsa ball straight away . I would say pay the extra 10 or 15 Mil extra what he’s worth because that will be a drop in the ocean compared to us being relegated. Don’t think that it might not be possible, there are very fine margins in football and if we don’t get White it could be the difference.

We can't spend 75% of the kitty on 1 player IMO.
Paying 35 mill for Ben is crazy if we could supposedly spend 15 mill and get a young international from spurs.
We'd then have 20 mill towards another player of Bielsas choice.

I am with Ausman, can't see why we would be looking at paying way over the odds for any player. £25m is the going rate for good young British centre backs. That is what we should be looking at.
Saw that BHA may be thinking if letting Duffy go. He has been comfortable in the PL, why don't we switch targets?
Even Bermo had a good idea, Cooper of Millwall. We need good players and not be to precious about which ones. At the end of the day Bielsa makes good centre backs (improvements in Cooper and Beradi) so he will invest in another player.

If we did it once, who's to say we can't do it again. Let's find a CB who will be a fraction of the figures quoted for BW. If the rumours are true it will be hard to compete, in an auction, with the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool. There is bound to be more than one ball playing CB out there waiting to be given a chance and even some who have already graced the big stage.

Personally believe, White will play for England and is in my humble opinion but Brighton Chairman TONY Bloom will never budge, he’s a billionaire built Brighton’s ground out of his spare change, wrote spread betting algorithms and won international poker tournaments.
I think the most troubling news is WBA after Shane Duffy with talks ongoing says to me Brighton will be looking at two starters from Dunk, Webster and Ben White.
The others mentioned Including Duffy are not in the same league as these three.
If he sells this window I estimate It will be £30 million plus due to his age and ability to play out like leading premiership (foreign) coaches demand.
Breaks my heart to say so, but our scouting system unearthed Ben White so I’m sure Bub has many potential alternatives, which possibly will not be as good as Ben or as popular with the lads but I don’t think we can justify nearly all of our budget just on white.

Those assuming our budget is only £45m are misguided . Those assuming Liverpool or Chelsea will bid £40 m for BW are misguided . They will have bigger fish to fry and want Champions League ready players . BW will come to us for £30 m including add ons if we bid that or he will stay put .

I agree in response to a post I said if ake went for 40 then white will, I don't think he is worth it personally and we won't pay it but I think someone will . If only have 45 mil budget then really we can't be paying anymore than 25 for him tops, however I think for me someone like Foyth at 10-15, Harry Wilson at 15 and Watkins benharama or edourd from Celtic or Gonzales from Stuttgart or someone if that nature for about 20 million would be money better spent overall for the squad.

If Brighton do not accept a £25 million 3rd bid in the next few days for Ben White then Leeds need to stop wasting time and money and move on pronto.
Ben White should have already put in a transfer request to considerably help force this matter but he hasn't
and Leeds should not continue to waste important transfer window preseason time nor
be held to ransom for BW.
Leeds need to use their transfer budget wisely and focus on actually signing players to get in a proven goalscoring striker, a play maker and a competent central defender ( hopefully at reasonable the virus 19 suppressed transfer fees ) rather than wasting time and/ or then blowing a large hole in our budget in overpaying on BW.

Ben White needs to put in a transfer request immediately to force this move indicating strongly that he would not be happy at all remaining at Brighton.
If he doesn't put in a transfer request and Brighton do not accept a 3rd bid Leeds need to move on to. alternatives.
