Ed? What's your take on the new signing he looked good today and deserved his goal do u think we've got a mane their at last with an eye for a diamond in a coal mine? Lol.

{Ed013's Note - He impressed me to be honest considering I don't know much about him and what a strike! It will be interesting to see him on the opposite wing to Dallas and hopefully we will see more chances created for the strikers}

09 Jan 2016 22:46:11
Yes ed my impression to, hats off. To Steve Evans may have found another gem!

Well Redders doesn't change bless him. Says Rotherham matched Leeds today. I thought I saw him at the game, but must have been mistaken. I was (for a change) , and I can assure him, they didn't! We weren't great, but didn't need to be. Rotherham are pants!

{Ed013's Note - He needs to say that mate, in secret he was raising a Leeds salute ;-)

Hi Ed. I know lol. Just making the point that I prefer big Steve's more honest interviews. When we are sh**e, that's what he says. He's a true Yorkshireman (isn't he? )

{Ed013's Note - Proper Leeds fan, erm I mean Yorkshireman}

Evenin siblings, a very happy one too, 8 games unbeaten, bring on Man U away in the next round so we can add to their woes. I for one have complete faith in big Steve, he knows what he is doing and how long has it been since we have had a bit of stability, consistency, passion and commitment. As for Sam, love him, but its a no brainer he is going, he wants to, we have to cash in now or he goes for nowt in the summer. No player is bigger than the club, things happen, but onwards we shall go. The future is bright, the future is White and we are United.

Just go in from game and have to say much better performance all round today new boy played a blinder and deserved his debut goal so hoping he carries it on now through season and if he does then what with bridgy Steve Evans deserves a lot of credit and backing in transfer window as he clearly got eye for players who are un loved where they were and got point to prove happy bunny tonight missus might get a treat and get a Big Mac! Are u reading this MM that's how to treat your lady! Lol p. s anyone know a " Big Mac " I'm totally knackard! Lol.

I agree with Danum, Slough Byram has played well since he's been in shop window mowatt I agree isn't as mobile but his potential to improve and get back to his best is greater and has no desire to leave, in saying that to be fair to Sam if I had been treated like he has by Cellino I would want a move!

Nice to see Belusci back and the clean sheet. Pity if he's injured and we have to go back to having the two big lumps at the back conceding again. New lad has had a good start. Long may it last. Good result pity it wasn't for three points.

10 Jan 2016 01:28:06
Hess maybe it should be just bellusci in a 3 at the back in your eyes 😂 are you related to peppe?

10 Jan 2016 11:39:42
Hello D. J. Not related to Belusci just tired of the pundits and some fans that blame Belusci for everything that's not right in the team. I watch every game and from what I have seen having the two big lumbering lumps at the back (Cooper and Bamba) on the pitch together just makes conceding goals enevitable. We do OK when Belusci and one of the other two play (preferably Cooper) . If, however, there is any chance of Belusci being blamed for anything he is dropped and things get worse. Noel Whelan is the main culprit. He can't wait to criticise Belusci but praises Bamba even when he has been dreadful. Therefore its not about who are my relatives its about having our two best centre halves on the pitch. I get very frustrated when I hear fans and pundits keep suggesting that Bamba and Cooper are anything but a liability when they are on the pitch together. The results, goals against and their general play are plain for all to see. If we could get in a Belusci type player but better who could complement Cooper then so much the better. If we could get a better Cooper as well better still.

If we had to sell one of academy players to bring money in. I would rather sell mowett over Taylor, cook and byram.
He does have a decent strike in him. But seriously lacks mobility to make a serious impact in the team.
And because of his lack of pace, I can't see I'm progressing like the others.

Can't disagree more Slough.
Most of last season and a good part of this Byram played badly.
Last season Mowatt was the fans and players player of the season. He's still a kid and I think some young players go backwards for a while and then come back even better than before.
He's never had pace and never will. If he did have pace along with the other talents he does have he wouldn't be playing for us. I'm afraid he is at our level.
Also Mowatt as far as I know has never expressed a desire to leave, unlike Byram who by his actions clearly has.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jan 2016 19:41:52
I agree with danum rather get rid of Byram doesn't wanna be here where at least mowatt does and Byram only come good because he wants to leave.

09 Jan 2016 19:43:22
Fair point mate with byram, but I still think he is a championship player, no more than that.
Where Taylor and cook, if he can improve his decision making in the last third are premiership quality. Hopefully with us in the not to distant future. I can but dream!

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jan 2016 19:56:32
danum you said yourself that some players go backwards for a while and then come back better than ever. Isn't this the case with Byram? He won all of the awards going in his first full season, has been mediocre since but has come good lately. There's no doubt this lad is a class act.

People who know much more about football than all of us lot put together recognise this and if the lad wants to move on and further his career, fair play to him. He's been loyal enough but maybe it's now time to go.

Some good points raised here, let's not forget that Sam picked up his injury at the end of his breakthrough season. This affected him for a lot longer than we expected, and also affected him and his game. Maybe gave him concerns about more serious injury that could ruin his career, I think he would be a great asset to our team in the long term . I would be sorry to see him go. Anyway up the whites down the pints MOT where ever we are!

Sam's been a good lad for us, but he wants to move on.
Thank him, wish him well, take the cash and let's move on.

Very happy with that for a number of reason, first is carayol so far he has proved my point. People jumped on his back without even giving him a chance, I'm well aware he could be rubbish for the rest of the season but for now he seems a great signing so really happy and hopefully the goal and performance really kicks him on. Nothing worse fighting to find that first goal for first good performance, he has got that out the way so hopefully just continue. Second I don't see why Evans would play Byram if he was going anywhere soon or at all especially when in a game like today it's a perfect time to experiment. See no benefit in starting him if he was leavin next week, I could understand it if was a league game as we want points. Overall very happy, coyle seem half decent as well to fill Wooten spot. MOT.

No I think most of us were going to give the lad a chance, Evans has so far done well (brid) .
Nice goal from the lad and playing on the left with a few more games dallas on the right looking good .
Also agree with Stan and make the point that Doukara seems to have improved under S E .

Just feel Bryam as had his head turned! Starting to believe that he is better than he is! Its not a criticism of him, just wish he would, commit to Leeds, for now, and when we get into, the prem, which I believe, we will under Evans, he will reap, the benefits, of a better contract! Evans I believe played, him today,so he would be cup tied! Hoping that would take away, some of attraction, for clubs to sign him!

Good win today really happy with the performance overall ( Especially in 2nd half) Carayol MOTM also good performances from Cooper, Murphy, Silvestri, Doukara, Taylor and Bridcutt. Clean Sheet. Revenge. Good Performance and Good Win, and through to the 4th round (Who do you guys want in the 4th round I want a top 4 side or a massive rival at ER. ) MOT.

We all want to keep Sam for the rest of the season at least but sounds very much that he's favouring a move away.
May be a a stupid question. Why don't LU offer Sam a contract for 2-3 years on the same pay (or a little more) with a clause in it to say if we don't get promoted (Lucas being optomistic) then we will let him go? That way we'd have him until the end of the season and get some money for him. Unless he definately wants away in January.
Thoughts anyone?

My view is we want players who want to play for Leeds and its inevitable he will move on if the fee is right. We shouldn't be begging players to stay.

Matty have a word with yourself. If he achieves this level of performance over the rest of the season I will accept it is a master stroke from Evans. I still contend he is not 'Bridcutt' quality however why would I want him to fail? If you wish to pat yourself on your back, have one from me.

Have done pal, n bet you was one saying why we getting bridcutt when he can't get a look in elsewhere?

Agree0 Disagree3

09 Jan 2016 17:59:34
Read previous threads, I felt that Bridcutt was a good signing. You have totally missed my point regarding Evans comments rather than the quality of Carayol. A winger who runs with ball and crosses is going to be better than say Mowatt on the wing. Possibly hold off on awarding Carayol player of the year until he has demonstrated his ability against Ipswich, Brighton, Middlesbrough etc. If he maintains consistent performances Leeds fans will support him.

09 Jan 2016 19:51:22
All my point is notts is that I rather players be judged when they played for us n not how they have played previously n u said if he's replacement for bryam fans will feel short changed but why? Bryam played well as soon as he wanted to leave n what's to say he won't do aswell as bridcutt. My point is its happened numerous times when players hasn't played well for one team n done well for another e.g gradel.

I did not write that we would be short changed, I asked the question. Probably best to draw a line under this, it is clear we both want Leeds to succeed.

I know everyone is wanting a proven championship goal scorer but I think it would maybe be a good idea to sign young premier league prospect on loan it seems to work well at this level I.e. Patrick Bamford, Chuba Akpom, Benik Afobe ( I know he signed permanently but he was scoring for fun in league 1.)

James Wilson. So I think that would be a good idea as long as we don't get a player on loan from a club we dislike or hate ( You know who I am on about. ) Also if he was on quite high wages I believe that Premier league clubs will pay 50% or maybe even 75% just to get some cut on the wage bill and a young prospect some game time. So what do you guys think?

To be honest if Byram is sold for a couple of mil then we should sign a proven championship goal scorer permanently which would be better. But maybe if Aunty Lucy is sold which I don't think is likely but if he is it would be a good idea to get two strikers and if maybe Byram money would be invested else where such as a proven championship cb which I don't think is likely but still. ( If we do sell Byram money invested in Proven Championship Goal ScorerIMO. ) But anyway let's cheer on the Mighty Whites tomorrow to a 2 0 win MOT.

Sign a player from anywhere
If he does the business I don't care if he manc or Eskimo!
Just sign a goal scorer ffs!
We sold one for 12. Buy one for 6. Good business.
