So Mcormack ' disrespected' the Godfather. Anyone think Ross might wake up with a donkeys head beside him?
Go to the matteresses! We are Leeds

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He could be going from bad to worse.

Ross will score many goals for Fulham in the championship. Fulham will probably win the league but a premiership striker Ross will never be. If we spend his transfer fee wisely we will threaten top six. I want to see more quality additions in defence and midfield before we address striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah George, build from the back, QPR went up on a solid defence granted they didn't score many but they definitely didn't concede many. A strong defence must be priority.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said George agree 100% ;)

"Not the LUFC I fell in love with"!

I know players are not supporters and most don't share the passion we do, but owners, managers, coaches and players change all the time.

Hockaday may not inspire many but let's at least see how the new set up works before jumping to conclusions. Watching the interviews at the end of last season, Felix the cat didn't overly impress me so good luck with that one Ross.

Lets get behind the new set up and the new squad and get back to where we belong - MOT

I wouldn't mind us spending some of the Ross McC money on the following players:
Chris Wood
Sam Baldock
Gary MS
Alexandre Bonnet (Le Havre, left winger)
George Thorne
Bryan Linssen (Heracles, Eredivise)
Leonardo Pavoletti

Still think we need to get rid of about 8-10 players too.

The deadwood are going, slowly but surely, hopefully Kenny has now got the message that both he and his stomach are surplus to requirements, although I doubt he'll give up the gravy train without being pushed.

. going to be an interesting season by the looks of it, do you think we will get the OS in Italian as well as English now?

Agree0 Disagree0

It's all too easy to take shots at Kenny, but . Oh no wait, that kinda finishes itself doesn't it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, absolutely, the deadwood are leaving ( I would't include Ross with that sentiment) but, should we not, as mid July approaches, be expecting some even half decent players to be joining us. We've been on here for too many seasons with varierties of ' in . we trust'. We need Mr Cellino to now show us that he is not just another Papa or Papa's arranged consortium GFH. I'm prepared to gve him this season, but we need to get back to where we belong, and he needs to start showing us NOW that he is serious about this club.

Agree0 Disagree0

I see where you are coming from tpjon, but I think spending all the money he has already shows us he is serious about the club . I too would like to see some big name signings, but its not how he's done things in the past and I can't see him being different now . His Director of football has a great record of bringing in young or unknown players and improving them as his record shows . But a couple of marquee signings would go down well I agree MOT

Well done to the magnificent 7
Dan Atkinson, Luke Booker, Lewie Coyle, Tyler Denton, Jake Skelton, Kalvin Phillips and Alex Purver on your Pro contracts along with Killock McDaid and Coker surely a couple of these boys will come good and restore some much needed pride maybe even this coming season. Mixed in with a few older heads and an excellent coaching staff the future looks brighter already.

By the way good luck Ross I think people are unfair to say you only gave us 1 good season you were played outta position a lot but always had an eye for the onion bag. I can't help but feel you jumped too soon and couldn't row back but then again 11m is great business for us - good luck in your career from here.

Wonder if TA will become a boarding house for the Italian influx or if MC renting houses for them. Most of these players couldn't afford to buy or even rent big properties in Leeds area & some may have families to come with them.
The good thing is this is their shop window to big time PL so I expect them to really give it some effort with us

Believable0 Unbelievable0

There's no accommodation at TA. It was sold off years ago and turned into new build houses

Spare a thought for David Luiz. I haven't seen him that upset since Bart and Lisa got him sent to prison.

Before we all start getting on the backs of Cellino and his new recruits, just have a think about the following dates 11/01/2014 & 08/03/2014, now I don't expect you to immediately know what I am on about, but these 2 dates were the 2 worst moments of last season, a 6-0 loss to Sheff Wed and a 5-1 home defeat by Bolton.

Did we really expect Cellino to sit on his hands and carry the same side over from last season? No.

Why would Cellino spend money on over-inflated British based players when he can get more for his money from abroad.

I am expecting a hell of a lot more signings, in total probably about 7 or 8, we have our first 2 in, so let's sit back and let him do his business, we can judge them on their performances next season, not on what nationality they are, where we signed them from or some 2 minute YouTube video!

Get behind the lads!

Sussex Leeds, I take your point & agree with most of it provided the italian influx aren't taking the opportunities from our young players eg; Dawson, Cook etc. I'm happy watching our side with a few Italians but not 7-8 every game & it seems most of these are 2nd division players which are not proven at this level. We must replace Ross with at least 1 marquee signing & not a lower UK or Italian league player.
sure I'm behind them until the required standard is reached as long as we're not flirting with relegation. This could go either way tbh. Not all italians are quality & after watching Italian league football for years it strikes me that pace is a problem for them in all departments & The Championship has plenty of it. I truly hope there's a plan B, until then I'll be in SS6 every week as usual making me usual racket

Hooray mate
Last season was crap
New boss. New coach. New players. New team. No excuses this time
We will def have a better season this time round. Even with all the changes. And still ross dosh to spend!

@sloughwhites, your intentions are right in terms of not taking opportunities away from youth, but the young lads are a big risk in terms of being capable of performing. A good balance of proven (albeit at mid table teams abroad) players and youth is the way to go. Trust me, if the kids are good enough, they will play.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ausman if you think Cellino will spend any of the money from the McCormack deal I feel you are not in touch with what is going on. All we are doing is signing unproven players from a league that is not as good as ours.

Agree0 Disagree0

Victor Meldrew sorry shagtastic.

You want bates/GFH out, you want the dead wood out, MC is doing just that.
He's also trying the oposite approach we've been doing for the last 15yrs.
IE signing has been players on decent wages to jump on the gravy train at ER.
For god sake give the guy a chance he's only trying to bring players in with potential, that could turn into VERY good players (like he did at Calgari) unless you want to keep on the same track we've been on for the last how many years??

Agree0 Disagree0

Andy. I am being realistic I travel home & away to watch every game & for me a home game is a 3 hour drive. He promised us promotion in two years with the current signings I can't see it, I totally agree with your comments about Bates & GFH, & it is for this reason I fear we are being told something we want to hear rather than something that is real. He promised us he was going to buy Elland Rd & TA back & still we wait & don't give me the rubbish about how much we are losing as he was surely aware of our financial predicament before he made those comments

Agree0 Disagree0

Shagtastic
He NEVER said he would buy TA mate NEVER. He said from day1 he'd like the training ground closer to ER.
It is slightly worrying he's not bought ER yet but I guess he had more debt when he bought us than he realised.
You have to look on the brightside mate if MC didn't buy us when he did then we were possibly days from admin & PAPPA SMURF buying us on the cheap again.
As for travelling I'm working in Ireland for the forseeable future so my home matches will be 2hr drive, 1hr flight, taxi from airport and hotel for night. Boooooom £250+ EVERY home match, will do the odd away match depending.

Give MC a chance whether it works or not he deserves that at least, he did save us from the greedy bearded one.
We all love Leeds ;)

Am I the only one slightly concerned about buying players from the Italian leagues? I can't think of many who have moved to England and been successful, Shevchenko and Veron spring to mind.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Zola, Ravanelli, Henry (played at Juventus as a winger I think), Bergkamp. that's without the help of Google. I am sure people will add more.

I would have added Robbie Keane to the list as he did come from an Italian team to Leeds but I don't think that counts!

John Charles, second spell from Juve. does he count!

Rather have an Italian that wants to play as opposed to a 'has been' who wants a wage! Looking forward to seeing who else come in - very interested to see who leads us onto the pitch!

Fair play to the German's last night. They'd obviously done their homework and watched the Hock's training techniques and tried to get their team playing like the Mighty Whites.

Credit where credit is due, they played excellent football and you'd expect the pundits to be salivating in the studio. And were they? Yes, apart from Alan Hansen who moaned constantly throughout the break. Anyone would think it was a boring nil nil draw (which incidentally would have excited him).

That man is so dull, he could make poetry sound like a shopping list for Screwfix.

On a plus note. At least Ross will take his fly tipping with him to Fulham.

The streets of Leeds will once again be clean(ish)!
