In answer to Noel Hunts comment about Lewis Hunt - what owner in their right mind would give a five year contract to a seventeen year old? Hindsight doesn't even cover it.

Good luck Erwin. I hope you get a load of goals at Oldham, gain some confidence and come back in a season fighting for a first team place.
Or we get a nice little fee for you as we'll be in the prem.

My message to Noel Hunt regardless of division comparing Bournmouth to Leeds United is like standing a boy scout next to a Grenadier Guard, small clubs will eventually go back to where they belong, when the white army is back we will be there to challenge not to survive on small gates and hope we survive the drop like your Bourmouth's of this world.

This talent that Taylor cook byram and the likes have got us mid table at the best and so in my opinion is not good enough and neither byram or cook were screaming from the roof that they wanted to stay, time for a change and we are looking like a team who could mount a serious challenge marching on together.

I know others have mentioned it, but where is BW?
Especially when there is so much going on.
I know we all have real lives but I'm starting to worry about him.
Can you post something BW even if it's just a full stop, just to let us know you're alive!
Or is it just that you've worn him out Speedy and he's sleeping it off! 😋.

I've been asking about Bermondsey for a few weeks now did he mention something about Spain in his posts maybe ed could clarify would appreciate it ed if you can.

{Ed001's Note - I honestly can't remember, I try and avoid reading Berm's messages, he is clearly just playing with everyone's affections on here. He sucks you in and then drops you from a great height, we have all seen his type before.}

Bermo did mention Spain and acting out there. Some sort of shoot. He said he wouldn't be posting for a bit but then after like a week he posted a reply to me. I had angered him and he felt compelled to post. No surprise there then. I asked him how was Espana but that was it no further response. That was almost a month ago. My guess is he still out there but he could've returned so unsure what's going on with him. Spain I'm sure has the Internet. Perhaps one of the Eds could email him and enquire as to his wellbeing?

I think the sale of Lewis Cook to the Cherries for the money involved is shrewd business by MC.
He looked good in a below average team but hardly set the world alight with goals or assists.
Bournemouth are taking a gamble on his potential which may or may not be fulfilled.
At least LUFC have received great money for him which can be used to buy another defender or two, an attacking midfielder with proven ability and another striker, preferably one who is rapid and can score goals.
I'm really looking forward to this season and wish Gary Monk and his coaching staff all the very best.
MOT all the Leeds fans.

Cook represents a player who is right person but wrong time. All discussion is about potential and I believe that with the right coaching he will fulfill that potential. If we were a stable club in the premier league he would have the time to develop at the club to become a legend however we are not in that position and therefore Cook becomes somewhat of a luxury. As long as his fee is invested fully and wisely then fans will be more accepting of the situation. You can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs.

09 Jul 2016 14:44:27

10 Jul 2016 14:20:29
In a side like ours who were hardly dominating at all last season and defensively minded, Cook, at times was a luxury. I would agree with those who say he's not the finished article, but some on here are putting on a brave face rather than looking at reality. At 19 he is still maturing and if he'd signed a new contract with us, would by stating what a massive coup for Cellino to pull this off and how it showed ambition. Mowatt has hardly got into the side last season but is still being monitored by premiership scouts.

It seems true that most professional footballers are a bit thick!
It's a bit daft to slag off a former team, when in the future you may be looking for a coaching/ management job.
Somehow don't think Hunt would be welcomed back with open arms.
Also a bit silly to upset witty LUFC fans with a surname that's not too difficult to make rhyme with something! 😎.

Cook loss is disappointing, but as someone posted on here a few months ago, if we had paid 6mil for him we would not have been happy with his performances for that money. So I think it was good business as long as we replace him with a couple of reasonable players.
Great start to Monks tenure. Looking forward to new season

I made that point during the season and I would like to add if we had paid 3 million I would not have been overly impressed either.

Agree3 Disagree1

09 Jul 2016 13:10:52
It is harsh to judge Cook solely on last years performance. He played in an average team where an awful lot was expected of a 19 year old. He played under numerous coaches and in positions that did not suit his style i. e left wing and therefore did not get opportunity to learn his craft or have a consistent mentor to work on his deficiencies. Despite this he was still voted young player of the year in the championship. I agree, not a six million pound player on last years performance but there are extenuating circumstances.

Good points. Fred and Wex.
Never thought of it like that.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 15:45:39
The saying cream will rise to top and in that average team he was very average not in the top 3 maybe scraping into top 5.

Agree0 Disagree1

09 Jul 2016 16:11:06
And what else can we judge Cook on this if not on last season. The piont I made was if we paid 6 million for cook last year we would have been bitterly disappointed. I wish the boy well but I think he'll struggle in premier league with the likes de bryne and hazard and others. He's in with the big boys now and in a very average team.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 16:34:47
I stand by my comment Wex.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 18:02:55
I'll stand by mine Notts but we have to judge him by last season and you point to the fact he's 19 hardly a boy. Plenty of 16/ 17 year olds made their debut in bigger leagues than the championship some 17 year olds shone on international stages. So can't say ah he was only 19.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 21:05:05
Funny how Bournemouth paid £7m if he is not worth it. The decision to sell was correct but do not make out that the player was not wanted/ needed.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 21:31:52
Not knocking the boy but like I said if we paid 3/ 4 million for him last year I would not have been impressed and oh I forgot football clubs always get their valuation spot on.

Agree0 Disagree2

09 Jul 2016 23:01:53
Have to agree with Notts on this one. The boy has untold talent imo and was played all over the park in different positions. i'm actually amazed nobody has said that we sold our best player because that's what he was. As much as I rate Taylor let's not forget he is a LB. Bit unfair to compare with Hazard and the amazing DeBryne at this stage Wex! Proper coaching and an England international he will be.

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Jul 2016 08:42:15
Cheers Cork, unfortunately Wex not only wants to prove that the decision to sell was correct but we should be grateful to Cellino of getting rid of an average player.

10 Jul 2016 13:40:46
Why not compare to de bryne he's only a few years older and has being world class for a few seasons now.

Or hazard for that matter both fully capped international's by 18 years old in the company of many of top world players at the time.

When mansford joined my Barnsley mate told me that he would get things sorted if players don't sign contract the've gone if they go he'll get top price always with sell on. transfers are being completed without talking about them for three months prior . Some even without any warning when has that ever happened It's a massive improvement on the last 20 years of clueless morons running club very optimistic about new season.

So much happening. I've been on a soccer app ban last few weeks so I don't find out about news until after I have watched euro games the night after they are played. Anyway
It's all positive with cook fee and new players. Bourenmouth a strange choice as surely not in prem for more than a year or two
Anyway
Pleased monky is really having a say on the team and getting HIS team together to play his way!
Pleased mcc seems to be listening and buying what we need to succeed. I think it's this year or he sells.
Finally. I know you'll never agree with me Georgy boy but so pleased with all your recent messages mate. Maybe one day survivor will talk sense too? Maybe not!

Well what a couple of days for the Leeds a lot of good things have happened but one massive bad thing and that is the selling of Lewis Cook I was hoping he would become a star even a legend at Leeds but unfortunately that won't happen. The big problem I have with the deal is the fact is from what I heard is he wanted to stay at Leeds when Massimo said he is close to signing a new deal, I know a lot can happen behind the scenes we don't know about but I honestly thought he wanted to stay I think Massimo was one who I actually was the big part of this move and not Cook forcing it, but obviously Cook had no issue going to Bournemouth because he would still be here. Anyway I am going to try to end on a positive I wish Cook the best for his Career and hope he will fulfil his potential of becoming a star for England because we need it! And hopefully whatever money we get for Cook it will be put to good use and maybe this could be a big change for a resurgence for Mowatt's Leed's Career. ( I will write about the more positive news soon. ) But honestly even without Cook I think were a better side than last season and we have an outside playoff chance we still need a one quality addition IMO to be playoff side and that a proven goal scorer at this level if that's a striker or winger ( I think we will play 443 under Monk taking in to account it his favoured formation and all are attacking forward signings Can play on the wing. ) Hopefully this will be the season we return to where we belong and even are fellow Leeds suffers can smile. Please be our year. MOT!
