All these clowns sayin gfh have got money please wake up and look at the facts, they have nothing I'm surprised petal and haigh aren't signing on because they have no business sense at all all the companies they have ever earned have made hardly any profits at all, so when transfer window shuts ant we have ended up with all free transfers I'd like these clowns to go!

How do you know that it's a fact that GFH have no money? Do you have insider knowledge or are you just an angry young thing? Don't bring my Aunt Petal into this either!

I know it will be a while but I believe Mc D's replacement will be Richard Naylor. Mc dermott has already made thorp arch and youth football much more important to the club. Naylor managed the youth and won the division. Naylor wouldn't cost a lot of money and is also highly respected amongst the fans

Why even consider that at this point in time? I'm holding out for Mac sticking around for a successful long term.

Coaching kids well doesn't mean you are going to be the next Mourhinio

Look to the euro under 21. England squad, with names we're not even close to afford, outclassed by norwegian young talent available for reasonable fees. Did you notice striker Marcus Pederson? Athletic, strong, fast, technical, enormous work rate, strong defensive (!) and a proven goalscorer. Or Stefan Johansen, the midtfield general: skillful passing, terrific eye for play, heavy shot, covers field box to box, ability to open up defences, best midtfielder in norwegian top flight for two years (miles above Rudy), and still just twentyone. Or Magnus Eikrem? Scored a beautiful third last night, ok he HAS been a trainee with a certain team in red, but I'll forget that once he's wearing white. Two or three other players in that team also worth considering.

Unfortunatly I agree

Quite right, it just shows how over priced young English player are.

Why are people saying "We can't afford him" etc? GFH have got the money but they were never going to let Warnock spend it because he was always going to be leaving at the end of last season. The last thing GFH want to do is go shouting from the rooftops about how much money they have because that's when we'll start paying over the odds for some players. We've got to trust Brian Mac. He's a smart guy who's done every job in football and did an amazing job with a very average Reading side. People are moaning when he's quiet, and then moaning when he says we have made offers. Transfers take time to complete. As a fan I'm willing to wait as long as it takes to sign the likes of Billy Sharp/Kevin Doyle etc. rather buying every Tom, Dick & Harry like Warnock!

I'm not sure I agree with you that GFH have money and only time will tell with the signings we make. I do agree with you though that Bmac is a very astute manager and him being quiet doesn't bother me one bit as I trust him. However what worries me is that he doesn't get backed or is let down with poor negotiations by Harvey et al and is forced to sign players that he wouldn't have ordinarily signed. Not backing him would be criminal and we as fans wouldn't get a true reflection of him as a manager. That will be the make or break of him. Listening to him when asked if he had money and backing didn't instill me with confidence that he had.

Out of the many names that have been banded about so far, from noel hunt to Franco di santo ( get real ).
I've been told by a good source the most likely signings will be noel hunt, matt mills and Reece wabara.
McDermott is looking for another striker and wide man on top of that, we look set to miss out on Doyle who is likely to choose celtic to maintain his 25k wages. and Jerome Thomas who we have enquiried about prefers a move elsewhere.

I've heard from another source ( albeit not as good as my original ) that McDermott has moved his attentions towards Cameron Stewart. He has what we lack, pace and creativity, but apparently his attitude isn't the best.

I have faith in McDermott though. After all he said he looked for one constant in every player he signs, HUNGER

All you super fans with your sources, where would we be without you?

Disappointed with a lot of the rumours - too much linking to "has beens" or "released" players. Already have far too many of these at ER. Surely we should be looking at players in demand!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We can't compete with other clubs for players in demand.

I wouldn't worry too much, luckily we don't sign rumours. Hopefully the factoids will be of a higher standard.

BM stated he wanted young and hungry for success, so let the has-beens and released players keepwanting.

I see Beckford scored for Jamaica yesterday in their 2-1 loss to the USA in a WCQ. I didn't know he was Jamaican or had Jamaican relatives. Must be agreat aunty or somit?
