I'd give roddy Collins a crack at the job if massimo wants a coach.he got Monaghan utd promoted to the premier league in his first season with them and Athlon town aswell in his first year on little or no budget so if he could do it with them if say he could do it with a squad like leeds.

You forgot what he did at Carlisle. got em relegated from the football league. I think not!

Redfern would be a great choice but I think he's happy helping the young kids come through and whenever the managers job comes available he quickly distances himself from it. he's a good man though and I would be very happy if he ever decided to become manager one day.

Agree0 Disagree0

I didn't forget about Carlisle the only reason they went down is because he was promised things their and never got them.

i will always give people a chance but i'm not feeling to optimistic on the prospect of Eamonn dolan, I typed him into google and got a picture of Brian mcdermott

+ who would rather naylor or readfearn get the job? doesn't that make sence, he wants a coach, they know the club?

It's looking increasingly likely Dolan will be named new coach if so it ain't going to sell S/T, whether it be Dolan or whoever don't expect them to last season when we have players like Austin who's come under fire from his own nationality in an ineffective display for Jamaica following a 8-0 drubbing.

Sometimes I despair of Leeds Fans, why are we constantly knocking things that haven't happened, coaches as yet appointed and untried, links to our players and potential players is all pure speculation in the press and on this very site, "Il Duche Cellino" for wanting to control the cash flow or should that be stopping the haemorrhage of cash at the club, for wanting input on the standard of players coming in to the club and through our academy, the guy is a shrewd businessman, something our once great club has been crying for since the days of Manny Cussins (initials the same now there's an omen) and the late great Don Revie. hang on Cellino is by all accounts a very superstitious man.a new coach with the initial D. which Coach is currently available with initials DR.
Joking aside its about time we all took a reality check, held our breath, and see what happens and in what timescale days or weeks who knows, all I hope is that the exciting times come back to our club for all the right reasons and not the recent stream of BS we have endured. onwards and upwards Marching on!

Totally agree, this however is a banter/rumour site and whilst we are leeds fans we need a forum to vent our spleens - I don't enjoy having to sit and wait to hear what is going on as I am an impatient individual, I do however enjoy knowing that others are wallowing in equal pain and frustration! A lot of the posts also cheer me up and make me chuckle. MOT

Excellent post wilsosd, totally agree

See Paul Clement has suddenly popped into the betting at 8/1. He is currently assistant coach to Ancellotti at Real Madrid. Also assistant coach under him for 2 years at Chelsea, now that looks more like a shrewd move from MC

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agreed he would make a very interesting appointment. Come on MC let's be knowing

Agree0 Disagree0

Clement sounds very interesting and he is British but hasn't he been linked with West Brom?

Bet his CV would put him in as a front runner but would he leave Real Madrid for Leeds in its current state? Might be career suicide! As much as I hate to say it, unless wee get this manning and financial situation sorted then it currently appears that he will be attempting to polish a poo!

not impressed with the 3 possible coaches . wouldn't even of thought about signing 1 up for my local sunday league team to be fair . mccalister is the only choice out of the 3 as I have heard of him . at least he's been there and will bring top flight coaching .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

So how can you say you wouldn't sign them for your sunday league team when you don't even know them?
Comments like this that have a guys head on the chopping block before he's even signed.

Club is quickly becoming a joke if Eamonn Doyle is the best we can get

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Its Dolan not Doyle but after all who has heard of either of them? Think it will be the sporting director that counts, the coach will be just that -a coach. Maybe we could get one from National Express.

Agree0 Disagree0

What do you expect? A decent manager will not want to join just to be a head coach, have no authority (beyond the team) and make no decisions re: player recruitment but will be blamed if they do not perform. Give the system a chance as it may bare fruits if a head coach is concentrating on the team, I think Brian spent too much time worrying about things he could not influence

Agree0 Disagree0

Ancellotti is head coach at Real Madrid, Guardiola at Bayern and Blanc at PSG. None of these have any duties except first team coaching and tactics. England & Scotland are the only countries that have this mad system where one person is responsible for everything from the kids teams and length of the grass on the training pitch to the first team, transfers & finances etc.
Who had heard of Arsene Wenger before he joined Arsenal?

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe Brian shouldn't have spent time worrying about things he couldn't influence, but that's the whole point of having a coach, not a manager?

In for a penny.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bic, you telling me Guardiola and co have no say on who joins their clubs! Do me a favour pal.

Agree0 Disagree0

I didn't say that. They may have an opinion but they don't spend days & hours negotiating etc, they don't worry about budgets, they don't decide what the players wages will be or the length of the contract. They just provide input into the positions that need strengthening and then adjust the system and training to suit the new players strengths. A million miles away from what an English Manager has to contend with (that's my point).

read we are interested in someone callee jefferson a striker in brazil. never heard of him before but we are linked with some wierd players

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's got to be better than being linked with every has-been & reject in the Championship though!

what do Leeds fans think about my young Leeds team for the future? or now. 1.Cairns 2.Byram 3.Taylor 4.Lees 5.Killock 6.Mowatt 7.Dawson 8.Thompson 9.Poleon 10.Walters 11.White all from Leeds academy would be a great team in 2 or 3 years I think.

Not great mate. Few decent players but as a whole, might be able to hold their own in League 2.

Tell ye the truth mate that team would not even win the under 18s league let alone the championship . Sorry but it's true.

Lewis cook is touted as a big prospect, like to see dawson get a chance and new lad robbie mcdaid, for me mowatt lacked stamina and needs to improve that area. I think I have given up on tom lees unfortunately.

Agree0 Disagree0

"I think I have given up on tom lees unfortunately."

Must admit I saw him in one of his debut games where he scored an own goal and then ran his heart out to get one in the right end to make amends, he seems to have floundered a bit since then, but maybe that was due to bad management, etc?

I am happy to give him the benefit of the doubt, especially when I see players like Kebe being brought in and played week in week out.

Yeah watched him for last few years and he'd be a good league 1 defender. I love endeavor and effort but he has no distribution which is my main concern. Tactics play apart in his positioning and concentration as midfield giving up too much pressure on defenders.
