Anyone see Dom Matteo fantasy football side?
Just watched it now and was quite interesting.
Martyn, Mills, Ferdinand, Harte, Batty and Viduka all made his 11. Woody surely should of made it but he was out lots when Matteo was at Leeds. Brings back great memories that side.

Just seen that Michu has been released by Swansea. Now I would say he would cost too much or that he will go to a big club but supposedly it is a team in the 4th division of spanish football he is looking at (Langreo) . We need another striker, If he is looking at a lower league club he will obviously drop wages, got to be worth offering a trial to if not a short contract hasn't he? hasn't played an awful lot the last two seasons but the guy would surely tear the division up and he is free.

As I said think it would be worth getting him on a trial basis first anyway Ed (which he can do any time) . hasn't played this season, would give us a good 4 weeks to look at him and get him fit in training then we can sit down and discuss options. Reckon convincing him to come on trial, 4 weeks with us then fleshing out terms if he looks good has got to be 6-7 weeks total anyway so perfect for the Jan transfer window :)

Guy was good but been injured for almost 2 years I read so big big risk I would not take him.

He has had a few injury problems but you can nullify the risk by an initial short contract leaning towards pay as you play if he looks sharp over a trial spell with the option to extend if all goes well.
As for wages Ed i'm really not sure but you have to feel that if a 4th div spanish side are looking at him then not that high? can't see them spending more than a championship side on wages.
Maybe overall he is a risk but a player that scored 22 in his first prem season for me is worth a little risk, we won't get a player like that any other way.

Off to Amsterdam tomorrow to stock up on my baccy and I know you guys hang on my every word so here are my thoughts on season so far.
Main gripe is players been under performing until now. Lot of the problem was Roslers tactics, we did not have the squad to play that way and he did not seem to want to play to their strengths even when it became obvious they could not adapt to his way of playing. How ever during his time I can't say the the players were giving their all, too many had their head down and just going through the paces, wasted start to the season really. No ones fault as I think we all thought Rosler would be better than he was.
Squad? would not say get rid of any, not even Wootton. Not sure we need many more in either. Sylvestri is first class shot stopper and Horton I think could readily step up if needed, would say we need someone like Robinson in as back up but more to work with these two to improve their game. Whoever is coaching them now has had 18 month with Sylvestri and not a lot of improvement so let's look at some else to coach them. Right backs are sound, three good ones in Byram, Berardi and Coyle, left back only Taylor so need someone there. Center backs will be less pressured in the formation we are playing now. Need to bring one in as not much competition for places there. Bamba is a good defender at this level but needs to get back to his form of last season, Cooper is still learning will be really good once he matures a bit, Berlusci is passionate and best of three in my opinion. Would like to see Wotton given a chance back in this role as he has been played out of position since he came which has not helped his game. Would say midfield is one of the best in league, with Bianchi coming back as well. Maybe need some one with a bit of bite as opposition do go through us quite easy, thought Sloth would have been the harrying type of player we need but not figured so far. Mowatt on form is best striker of the ball in this league still young but needs to add some steel to his game. Murphy also has a sweet strike but a bit shackled in midfield at the moment.
Strikers are fine, think Wood and Ant are capable of 15-20 each a season, maybe more when midfield gets a bit more adventurous. I like Erwin and never understood why he went out on loan.
So left back, cb dm amd nearly there. Think Evans is just what we needed, has a good record with his previous clubs so no reason he won't have here. Confident no nonsense manager who says the right thing, can see him here at the end of the season and beyond. Thing is its a young squad and will make mistakes, have dips in form but in one two years if they are still all together will be a force to be reckoned with.
Cellino hopefully will stay away from ER now, he does not have to be hands on, leave it to the manager, just keep getting the cheque book out. Total respect for the guy for what he has done to turn us round and employing Evans. Everything he has done he has done with the intention of helping the club, not always done in the best way but that's Italians for you.
