Let's hope Southampton win tonight. This will mean that assuming we win out we should go up because either one of Leicester or Ipswich are definitely going to drop points somewhere.

Personally, I think a draw would be better
Keep Southampton off our tail and leave Leicester in striking range
But I can see your reasons for a Southampton win.

Hi Old

I wouldn't say anyone played a blinder last night, plenty of mistakes by most, with most players having decent spells. Rutter tried to complicate it most of the time and kept losing possession, but at the same time, made the great run leading to penalty. Firpo was probably my pick of the match. Summerville played well in patches. Gray made some good interceptions and won possession back several times. Paddy played better than recently. Mostly 5/ 6/ 7 out of 10 for me.

Notwithstanding that it was a better performance overall than any of the previous three matches. We finally had our shooting boots on this time. 'Boro' were also a better team than the last three we faced.

Baz Scores
Mes 4.5 ( dodgy )
Byram 5.5
Firpo 7.5 ( good assists played well going forward ) .
Rodon 6
Ampadu 6
Gruev 7
Gray 6.5
Gnonto 7.5
Summerville 7.5
Rutter 7
Bamford 7

Subs not on long enough really to score

Daniel Farke 6.5.

Agree1 0Disagree

23 Apr 2024 17:52:26
Baz Jimmy surely scores an 8 or 8.5?

Agree0 0Disagree

23 Apr 2024 18:14:28
Not imo

7.5 is fair

George he was good at times, scored his trade mark cut in onto right foot far post curler.

Good assist for Gnonto goal

A pen ( bit lucky it wasnt saved)

What would be your reasoning for 8.5 Georgey?

23 Apr 2024 18:52:56
Baz, you make me chuckle at times.
Probably 60% of penalties are nearly saved 🤣🤣🤣🤣.

Agree1 0Disagree

23 Apr 2024 19:37:24
Not sure about 60 % pal. more like 15 %

50% of time keeper goes wrong way.

23 Apr 2024 19:43:14
Baz Scored penalty under pressure for the Bobby. Cute assist for his brother Willy. Scored the winner. Gets 8 for me.

Agree0 0Disagree

23 Apr 2024 19:52:20
Stat time for Baz.
15 - 20% penalty save rate
79 % keeper goes the correct way (like last night, where Deng nearly saved Summerville's)
Either way Baz, you still make me chuckle at some of your comments 🤣🤣.

Old… Summerville got motm and no one other than baz questioned it.

Grey also played a blinder in middle of the park. I don’t like him at rb but we got three great cms

Rutter often annoys but his brilliance is worth it

Bamford played very well, not taking the pen gives him a 9/ 10 rating for me.

Frake gets a 3 from me as in 3 points!

Looking ahead to next season, a good and reasonably priced striker would be Middlesbrough's Emanuell Latte Lath.
Strong, quick and as last night proved, he can score
Let Joel Piroe move on and keep Patrick Bamford plus Matteo Joseph
What's your thoughts boys and girls.

23 Apr 2024 15:56:25
14 goals 1 assist in 28 games apparently, good if we don't get promoted unproven at a higher level so I'm unsure, called sitting on the fence😅.

Good goal per game ratio

But is he injury prone? . as he hasn't played in one third of Cov games.

Agree0 0Disagree

23 Apr 2024 17:59:54
alot depends on the style of the striker though as it needs to work for Farke's system. Not convinced Latte is the one for that although admittedly I haven't seen him much this season.

I've only just calmed down from last night's game - I'm not sure which is worse for my health, a relegation battle or promotion push, heart rate goes through the roof regardless!

Only got three days to recover ahead of Friday's game - cold showers and something in my tea for the next few days, it's the only solution!

All I will ask of the lads is to try your best on Friday and please be 4 - 0 up by half time:) )

I've been staring at the table ever since our game ended and I still can't decide - I need to go to bed!

Suppose if Leicester win, the saints don't have owt to play for maybe by the time we play 'em?

Or if saints win is that better. crap, I should be at work by now

Come on you Saints! .

Leicester win for me. Give them 1st. Narrow it down to us or Ipswich.
Don’t think saints will lay down either way last game. We need to be 4 points ahead of Ipswich by the weekend.
Can’t see them winning both their games. But can see them winning the last game.
Rather it all settled by the saints game tbh.

Leeds beat QPR then Saints can NOT catch Leeds.

Saints win keeps 2 auto places up for grabs.

Agree1 0Disagree

23 Apr 2024 10:33:38
I've had this same thought. If Leicester win, only 2nd up for grabs between us and Ipswich. If Southampton win, leaves 2 places open but between 4 teams. No matter what happens, we need to beat QPR on Friday. Ipswich have two tricky away games coming up and can't see Southampton losing to stoke. Potentially we could be promoted by next Tuesday if Ipswich lose both games and tonights game is a draw or Leicester win🤞.

A Southampton win for me! When we beat QPR on Friday that guarantees us to finish ahead of Southampton on goal difference. It will still be a 3-horse race for top 2 spots. They than will rest players against us for the playoffs and we thrash them. Meanwhile Tractor Boys and Leicester drop points. If all that makes sence.

Southampton win, a draw at worst for me; Leeds hopefully beat QPR and then Ipswich face Hull, essentially the only team with a reasonable chance, with their game in hand at the play-off's beyond those sitting in those spots currently.

A nervy 3 points but 3 points it is.
Had bit of luck too with gnonto goal being a fraction offside.
Seem a bit ponderous at the back. Too many side way passes still. Out pass stats were atrocious and our corners were too compared to theirs.
But looked back to our devastating best going forward although could have had couple more.
Worthy mention to Jimmy and Willy. Fine performance.
Bambi with his sharp shooter boots on again?

23 Apr 2024 17:54:38
Not sure Mez had a nightmare Baz? His defence was very questionable last night at times. I think he made some good decisions overall. Not sure what he could have done with any of the goals. It could be argued he was out of position for the third, but did anyone on our side see us conceding like that?

Changing the subject a little bit, I was encourage last night by how we dealt with the dead ball situations; lots of good strong defensive headers all night.

Agree1 0Disagree

23 Apr 2024 19:02:40
Imo yesterday he was (and always has been dodgy) on positioning and shot stopping Ani

. maybe nightmare a tad hyperbole but that was Berm's interpretation/ word

You make a fair point 👉 about good defensive headers yesterday.

He made 1 save Baz in particular which ultimately was difference between all 3 points +just 1

I'm glad we got the 3 points and that's all the matters. However, being picky I feel we were too complacent at 4-2 and plenty of chances to finish the game off. We didn't and our dodgy defending nearly came back to haunt us. Hopefully another 3 points on Friday and hopefully promoted by 10pm next Tuesday 🤞🤞.

Yes mighty very pleased with the 3 points. I saw glimpses of the pre International break leeds side last night but there was still too much of the post.
Rutter looked like he was playing with a very slippery bar of prison soap last night not a ball. He did improve a bit 2nd half. He has not found his form or confidence after his op.
It looked like archie was pushing a bit higher at times. We got lucky with the gnonto goal but I suppose we were due a bit . I'll take luck. A couple more bucket fulls please for the next games.
Their striker latte looks like a cup full of special. His two goals were well taken. Could we swap with greenwood?

I get Florists frustrations though . Wolves also have had it very bad . but certain teams never get rough end of "decisions "

How much trust exists in integrity, reliability in football authorities and officials?

And where is the accountability ( suspension of 'inept' ( or other dubious matters) of refs and VAR officials .?

Leeds have been on the end of a few dodgy decisions this year. A couple of hand balls not given etc. Though we did have a clear offside goal given last night so that was a little bit back. But it the inconsistencies that var was supposed to clear up that still keep popping up.

Coventry were given a penalty for handball at the weekend for a similar one to the forest shout. But I don't know why and I think they won't either. I just don't think var adds anything to the game in its current state.
