Alan Smith will make a decision on his final destination at the end of the season.
Theres only 2 clubs that would interest him Leeds are the only team in England he would go to, if not then he may decide to go to Orlando City.
Smith WILL see out his wages and final year remaining at Newcastle unless they release him and pay him off.

Check this out.

I personally think Florida would be the best place for Smith now.

Believable10 Unbelievable9

I am getting sick of the set up at a club I love - Smith equals yester year - Bates equals tight old git with no purpose, he must have a date with St Peter booked soon - players no longer see us as a big club - Snodgrass can go for me as he needs 2 stone off - rest need to get some balls and start putting in effort.

There is only one way to change the current lack of investment / poor product on offer for £35 a ticket -------stop f ing going - s**t chippies get new owners, we need to play Bates at his own game - stop paying - force him out - allow someone to buy us for nowt - but make sure they have cash to spend.

Bates era needs to be over and quick ---- marching on together

Agree0 Disagree0

Stop going? No matter how bad things are if you stop going 1. You can't be much of a fan and 2. You will have a detrimental effect on the team eg lack of support there.
What's going on "on the field" needs to be addressed first before the bates issue. The chant of "wtf is going on?" kind of summed the performance against Bradford up well at least the first half anyway To chant "there's only one Simon Grayson" was a bit amusing by the fact that he's the one that can't see the problems with the team. No one knows what goes on behind closed doors with the financial side but yet everyone is happy to try get bates out when everyone can see what's happening on the pitch and no one is calling for graysons head not that I am saying that should be happening either.
For anyone to think in this current economic climate someone out there will be willing to buy our club when no one it seemed other than bates produced the readies at a point when there was no financial recession is madness How does anyone other than ken bates and Simon Grayson know what the situation is (other than what they tell us) with regards to how much there is to spend etc? Answer is no one knows Ps it's not £35 per ticket check the official site and you will see this.

Agree0 Disagree0

''SIT'' out his contract.....who wants a player like that at OUR club??? Not a true fan with the best intentions for leeds.

Jimmy Bullard to sign for Leeds United in the next couple of days.

Source;

I am Jimmy's half sister

Believable4 Unbelievable37

Hello?? he's on big wages and even more injury prone than Smithy. What's with the crazy rumours today?

Agree0 Disagree0

I am Jimmy's half brother. It's strange we haven't met

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry I'm his dad and I say it's not happening :0)

Agree0 Disagree0

Uckle Ken won't pay his sort of wages ,he's on 45k at hull.

Agree0 Disagree0

Really, well half sister i'll belive it when see it, we couldn't afford his wages just like alan smith.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Jimmys sis we can't afford you or Jimmy

Agree0 Disagree0

We could afford the wages we just wont pay them, leeds must bring in more cash than hull, but it mysteriously goes missing?

Agree0 Disagree0

How weird i'm Jimmy's half sister too...get a life he's on 40k+ at Hull and he's already agreed terms at QPR :) uncle tells you to go to bed now :P

Agree0 Disagree0

Well i am jimmy bullard and im too greedy to take a pay cut so im not coming. End of.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am from Leeds and have season ticket for ER but live just outside Hull, I have seen Bullard out on the town when injured. He,in my opinion, is a low life and whilst I am a life long fan I would not go to ER if he was playing for us. It would be the final insult and demonstrate that the management.had totally lost it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Does your second name start with BULL then waster.

Agree0 Disagree0

Iam bullards dogs half brother and was there the other day he said he wanst because hes rubbish and carnt walk more than 20yards without hurting himslef and is a greeddy c### and ken wont pay him more than 15 k haha so stop making rubbish up

Agree0 Disagree0

Past it, trouble trouble trouble, injury prone

"We had a big striker to bring in for the Bradford game. His club agreed to let him join on loan until Christmas, the player said he wanted to come and then his agent got busy, He intervened and said no, what he wanted to do was to try and get his club to pay the player off, because he was in the last year of his contract and sign for us for a year" looks like its the agents fault that we don't have a cover striker

Believable21 Unbelievable8

Who was this big striker and surely the player makes the final decision

Agree0 Disagree0

What do you think is meant by 'big'? Big physically or big as in reputation?

Agree0 Disagree0

This does seem like excuses for the sake of it now. Is it not possible to ignore the agent and just do the deal that the player and two clubs agreed on?? What do you think ED?

Agree0 Disagree0

Same goes for alan smith he was prepared to join then newcastle wanted 1.5 million a year for a player they no longer require so glad were not going down the leicesteer route of paying stupid wages for championship as is very clear from the world debt crisis aqs my grandad used to say live within your means not popular but very wise leeds leeds leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Could have, would have, should have - that's been the only noise coming from ER this summer. Well timed press releases to keep fans onside but fail to deliver anything Love leeds hate bates. Bates out in MOT.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi guys. It was Simon cox we went for on 6 month loan deal. 22k a week bates was shocked. The club agreed to pay half wages.was gonna be included in starting 11 for bradford, till his agent scuppered the deal demanding extra fees n more time.deal off or on hold till they change minds. Alan smith and his agent agreed deal wi Leeds, Newcastle were unwilling to cut losses n wanted just over 1m. Leeds said hold on he's only got a year left n u said hes available on a free.......deal off until Newcastle decide to cut losses, otherwise smith is joining next year. There was no loan agreed wi smith it was a permanent transfer.

Agree0 Disagree0

It was not cox at all ,it was Steve howard deffo true. We are going nowhere

Agree0 Disagree0

It werent steve howard because it was a prem striker with 1 year left on his contract

Leeds are chasing midfielder Mahamadou Diarra. The player is on a free after being released by French club Monaco following their relegation last season. The 30 yr old had been attracting interest from Stoke and his former French club Lyon but no offer has been forthcoming. The former Real Madrid star has expressed his desire to continue his career in England

Believable6 Unbelievable31

Wow what a load of bulls**t. How are we supposed to pay his wages when we wouldnt pay 20k of Smiths wages?

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd pi** my pants if we managed to get him, but after playing for RM and Monaco I think he is out of our wage budget.

Agree0 Disagree0

You think a player who has played in top flight of european football all his carrer is gonna sign for leeds? im a die hard leeds fan and would love it. but lets be honest over 50k a week at lyon. about 80k at real madrid... we would offer him around 12k tops..... he wunt get out of bed for that

Agree0 Disagree0

We don't need another centre mid..........we need defenders and 2 cover strikers

Agree0 Disagree0

Emphasis here is on the word "chasing" we would struggle to attract a virus at elland road

Agree0 Disagree0

Must win prize for stupidest rumour this week and that says a lot

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, 2 central midfielders is easily enough for a squad. I'm sure we can rely on 34 year old missed half of last season's games Brown to be able to start every league and cup game this season.

We have no strike force but yet we are paying grella to sit at home and do nothing if we paying him at least play him or put him on bench till we have are strikers back fit. Like last night Bradford game would of been good for grella

Believable21 Unbelievable8

Why grella? What about all the other players who aren't playing but picking up a wage? You can only have 5 subs in league matches so prob not enough space for him on the bench and he's not good enough to get on it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree with you, we only named 6 subs last night when we could have named 7, no forwards on the bench so why not use grella, and I no he's not a striker but there's also bessone

Agree0 Disagree0

Cos if we're trying to get rid of him which has been confirmed this summer, he'd have been cup tied and therefore less attractive

Agree0 Disagree0

Major slap in face for him. No 7th sub either. Even more slap in face. What did he do that was so wrong?

Agree0 Disagree0

I beg 2 differ grella could have had a field day last night....get him used ffs

Agree0 Disagree0

Not good enough to get on the bench? Are you real? The boy is scoring for fun in reserves I bet your the type who said the same about the likes of Clayton before he went on out on loan. Grella's attitude at Swindon might have been wrong, he's knuckles down preseason and is currently the most consistent striker we have

Agree0 Disagree0

You are seriously stating "he's scoring for fun in reserves" as a reason to play him in the first team upfront? I saw grella in his first competitive game in the reserves when he was on trial and at the time I thought he would be a real player. Having seen more of him since I have to disagree with you he's not good enough for the first team therefore as were trying to get rid maybe a mutual cancellation of his contract would be best?
And no I didn't think clayton was rubbish before he went on loan as I hadn't seen enough of him to make an opinion of how good he was.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree totally why pay a More than half descent Striker to bl**dy sit at home. Give the guy another CHANCE SG.

Agree0 Disagree0

4 times I have asked for Grayson to go & I get split decisions about whether he should or not but surely last night proves he should go. There's no room for Grella last night even though he could be the 7th sub yet Grayson sticks to the tripe at the back that only he believes are good enough.
My point is that he is a stubborn tw@ who will not back down. Drop players like Paynter & OB who have failed to deliver & give people like Lees & Grella a chance.
If I was Grella I would put in a transfer request out of pride alone.
What has he done wrong afte all FFS?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think they want rid of Grella. Think SG and his staff believe Grella has an attitude problem

Agree0 Disagree0

Like Paynter - how many chances does he get?

His career stats in England give exactly one goal every ten games.

Nowhere near enough. A L1 player at very best.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great shout by an earlier post, making sure he's not cup tied, grella's on his way out I'm afraid...

Even losing at halftime, i was in positive modd with Leeds performance. There were so many positives last night. I think there will be changes next game tho. Clayton was sensational, Howson getting better, Nunez balooned a pass and a sitter in the box, but scored 2 goals and looked liveley and quality. However, Sam did not have the ability to take a bradford city left back on...not good. McCormack played great in the second half, first half he was terrible. He made all the wrong runs and balls in the first half. Connolly was ok first half but secoond he was terrible and replaced by an impressive Lees. O'Brien clearly isnt match fit and didnt look useful at the back.Bromby looks like he has took the phrase 'no more mr nice guy' quite literally. Parker hasnt lost half a yyard since his injury, hes lost about 3 yards. Shame. Not the same player and surplus to requirements im afraid.
Team for next match.

GK Lonergan
RB Lees
CB Bromby
CB Kisnorbo
LB O'Dea
RW Gradel
CM Brown
CM Clayton
ACM Howson
LW Nunez
ST McCormack

Subs

Rachubka
Snodgrass
Paynter
Connolly
White
O'Brien
Sam

Believable17 Unbelievable12

Thought sam was one of our best players but there you go. Done more than either gradel or snoddy did against the saints. Was involved in all the goals so i dont know what your on about. What game were you watching?

Agree0 Disagree0

Snodgrass LW and Howson CM an Nunez behind McCormack and drop Brown

Agree0 Disagree0

Just what I was thinking lees looked good ob is crap an snody should b droped he should start that team n nunes needs to learn to use his left foot

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with u mostly. I don't think Paddy is fully fit. O'bRIEN SHOULD NEVER PLAY FOR uS AGAIN. All 3 goals vs Southapton and 1st yesterday he was to blame. Get him out

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree about clayton a lot of people were saying that he isn't good enough to be starting however after seeing him against newcastle Southampton and now last night I have to strongly disagree. He's been our best player so far (although some will say that's not hard given our performances) I believe that this is going to be a big season for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant see Nunez being in front of Snodgrass - otherwise sounds about right
MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

McCormack didn't make the wrong runs, the other players played the wrong ball. he was MOM for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure why you're putting Snoddy on the bench unless you're trying to drive him out of the club And in case you haven't noticed Football League Clubs are only allowed 5 subs so maybe you might not want Snoddy included at all lol

Agree0 Disagree0

I think this shud be team
Gk - Andy Lonergan

RB - Paul Connolly
CB - Patrick Kisnorbo
CB - Alex Bruce
LB - Ben Parker

RM - Lloyd Sam
CM - Jonny Howson
CM - Robert Snodgrass
LW - Ramon Nunez

CAM - Max Gradel

ST - Ross McCormack

with rachubka lees brown grella and some of the trilests on the bench like mendy lux and giv or of them a lil run iut each game till we sing dem

Agree0 Disagree0

I concour with just about everything said there.

Agree0 Disagree0

Little problem their chief you have named 7 subs, new rules have reduced this five maximum

Agree0 Disagree0

You don't expect much if your happy with the performance. We was crap. You obviously know nothing about football

Agree0 Disagree0

If you think O'Dea is a better left back than Parker you have lost the plotParker started off a bit shaky (understandable) but improved as the game went on. Also, Sam did more in the first 10minutes than Snoddy has done in his last 10 games. However was very impressed with Lees when he came on and Bromby should be first choice alongside Kisnorbo on Saturday

Agree0 Disagree0

GK: Lonergan
RB/LB: Lees, O'Dea
CB: Paddy, Kisnorbo
RW/LW: Gradel/White or Snoddy
CM: Howson, Clayton
AM: Nunez
ST: McCormack

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree generally but Sam did better than you think.

Agree0 Disagree0

The person above you can't have trialist on the bench you can only play players that are signed to the club

Agree0 Disagree0

Brutal performance last night- it was Bradford we were playing Keeper & back four brutal- Brown was a liability and McCormack is not a lone striker, plus Nunez was on the left when all he wanted to do was switch to his right- thought Clayton was excellent and Sam did well

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes you named 7 subs, wouldn't leave snoddy out, drop brown o'brien connolly, and sign some players, and where is grella,we had 6 deffenders on bench last night a would have been nnice to givw him a run out, SORT IT OUT PAPPA SMURF

Agree0 Disagree0

You cant name trialists in competitive matches

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he meant sign the trialists and put them on bench, I still think we need a whole new back four they are so clumsy and uncomfortable on the ball its quite embarassing, brown is well past his best we could use nunez as attacking midfielder.

lonergan

new back four

snodgrass
howson
clayton
nunez

gradel
becchio

rachubka, lees,white,mendy,mccormack

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd prefer to play Gradel in just behind the striker if anything.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lonergan

Lees. Bromby. Paddy. New left back

Snodgras Howson. Clayton. Gredal

MacCormac Nunez
Subs
Rubahca
Bruce
Grella
Brown
Sam

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with the last post, maybe swap gradel and nunez, dropping gradel in behind mccormack. I'm believing in SG, he knows what he's doing, promotion followed by a few points off play offs, you don't get that without having half a clue, I'm in support of the wage structure, ken knows what he's doing as well, see where we are by christmas before you get carried away with your posts...

Agree0 Disagree0

Our defence is sorely lacking in pace. Agree that O'Brien should never don our colours again. He's been exposed time and time again. Based on who we have right now, my choice of CBs would be Bromby and Kisnorbo. I would play Lees and White as our wing backs.

Clayton is proving to be a revelation this season though. Has been one of our bright sparks so far.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why drop brown when he quality, he was everywhere in the southampton game im afraid

Ive just seen Robbie keane driving up the M1 into Leeds

Believable5 Unbelievable22

Is this the same ronnie keane who is playing for Ireland tonight in Dublin

Agree0 Disagree0

That would be quite difficult as he's playing for the Rep of Ireland tonight

Agree0 Disagree0

Doubtful, isn't Robbie Keane currently in the Ireland training camp for their match against Croatia? I'm pretty sure he's due to play in that match tonight

Agree0 Disagree0

If we can't afford smith on loan we sure as hell can't afford Keane

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry to disappoint he does my windows every other Wednesday in miggy-makes a cracking job of them

Robbie keane to join on loan

Believable10 Unbelievable17

Can't see it happeing but would be a great signing. It would certainly give the fans a boost.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's already been interviewed and I saw him clealry state that he WILL NOT PLAY for Championship team. 'Dream on mucker'

Agree0 Disagree0

How the hell could we afford his wages even on loan?

Agree0 Disagree0

Untrue...as he said on skysports yesterday he would not drop to the championship

Agree0 Disagree0

He said in an interview that he wasn't going to move to a championship side

Agree0 Disagree0

With having one striker (McCormack),we need a descent loan striker ASAP
The sooner Paynter and oBrien goes the better

Agree0 Disagree0

If only this was true.....keep dreaming we would love him with us at Elland Road, but couldn't afford his wages & he wants Premiership quality not Championship

Agree0 Disagree0

It is untrue that Robbie Keane said he would not play for a championshio side. He said that he was WILLING to leave London and he REFUSED TO RULE OUT a move to a championship side. That means that he would consider signing for us however I agree with the other post`s that we would not be able to afford his wages and therefore it is unlikely that we will see him pulling on a Leeds shirt at any time in the near future, although I personally would welcome him back.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is taken from the skysports website not saying he will come here but he isn't ruling out a move to a championship team as you can see:

Robbie Keane insists he is willing to leave London and has refused to rule out a move to the Championship.

The out of favour Tottenham forward has confirmed that he is expecting to leave White Hart Lane before the summer transfer window slams shut.

With it clear that he has no future at Spurs, he is keen to secure a switch as soon as possible.

The experienced frontman is currently away with the Republic of Ireland, but he is confident something will happen soon.

Various clubs have been linked with an approach for his services, but reports have suggested that Keane is reluctant to leave London.

The 31-year-old striker has moved quickly to play down those rumours, though, insisting that he is open to offers from around the country.

Asked if his preference was to stay in the capital, Keane said: "No, I'll move.

Regular football
"I don't know why this story keeps coming out that I want to stay in London. I've never said that. I'm quite happy to go anywhere.

"For me, it's just about playing regular football and if that's outside London I'm not too bothered."

Keane took in a loan spell with West Ham last season, during which he was unable to prevent the Hammers from being relegated out of the Premier League.

He claims his preference would be to remain in the top flight this season, as he feels he can still do a job at that level, but he is refusing to close any doors.

Keane said: "Of course clubs have to agree a fee but, not being disrespectful at all to the Championship, if I got an option to play in the Premier League, I'm obviously going to take that.

"But there's been no talk of any Championship team."

Agree0 Disagree0

Gladly have him back but we would not pay his wages even if Tottenham paid the majority.
