Clingan got released by coventry, why would we want him?

Clingan released because he wouldn't sign a new deal, a bit like beckford, johnson, kilkenny etc. Doesn't make him s**t. But he isn't that good, better than what we've got but not as good as some realistic options we've been linked with.

Aidy White & Adam Clayton, both gonna mature into great players in my eyes. If we are looking to build a young team then we should be making an effort to keep these two - just saying. Ps, sick of hearing about Clingan - he's f**king rhubarb!

My concern with this list of players are, some were relegated last season so may not be good enough for the step up we need. Some although played at this level are unproven or unsucessful in the premiership and others are old or not good enough for the premiership, so even if we do go up we would have off load them as if they didn't cut it this season in the premiership so why would they cut it with us next?

Please not beckford. dont want the whole budget wasted on one moody player who only turns up when it suits him. just my opinion but would rather have three decent players for that salary than one player that bottles it when things dont go his way.

Im sorry but what do people see in clingan? hes no way good enough for our squad, we should look at other targets!

It appears Q.P.R. are a caring club. Rather than put players into care homes they will let them join lufc. NO WAY do we need that lot of has beens, get some young enthusiatic players who want to prove themselves not the kind who need a pension fund.!

Just had a text from a very reliable source that Robert Snodgrass has signed his new contract offered to him by Leeds United.

Snodgrass has said he wont sign until they report back for pre-season and he wants to monitor the signings, not a chance on hell Snodgrass will sign before mid July.

It will be confirmed in July but he's signed now

If he signed it now they would confirm it straight away. dont be stupid. also, warnock has said he wants snoddy to sign before the end of may 'ideally'

Why would we want someone that got released from coventry?

Why announce it on the 1st july he is a free agent now so we don't have to wait until then to sign him?. Unless you know something that says it can not be announced before then.

i was the the person who said about joel ward speaking to warnock also said he wanted to sign as pearce is there , appleton said they are two peas in a pod and when one follows the other does . ward will also be on 4 year contract and fee is 500k , david norris will also be speaking to warnock

I really don't think el hadj diouf is a good signing like I have heard he is far too much trouble, and beckford would be great although don't think will happen think we should look for a decent young CM and ST but I have faith in warnOck to deliver

I don't care that he goes round spitting at other players as long as he doesn't get sent off and plays at his best for us if we sign him. hes a good attacking player that will score goals we need a bit of aggression in our soft team .

Town have been targeting the 22-year-old since January when a fee was agreed for Ward and keeper Stephen Henderson on the final day of the transfer window but the moves broke down over personal terms.

I have looked a bit more into this and on one Ipswich forum a lot of their fans have resigned themselves to the fact that he is more likely to join Leeds than Town. He is best mates with Pearce and to quote Appleton 'they are like 2 peas in a pod, where one goes the other follows'. I really hope he does join Pearce cos he is decent

To all the people saying that because Pompey went down we shouldnt sign them - Jarvis, Fletcher, Yakubu and Hoilett have all been relegated with their clubs but Im sure pleanty of Prem clubs will be after them, they aren't poor premier league players. Just because a team goes down doesnt automatically mean their players are all awful and Pearce and Ward have been their two best this season.

Portsmouth conceded 59 goals which is exactly the same as Blackpool who may get promoted.

aidy white is so over rated he's a half decent left back with pace, if he don't wanna sign he can sit in reserves at a prem team would more than welcome the compensation for him

Got to agree, we'd get 1.5 million compensation as well, he's decent but not that good

Aidy White, Robbie Brady and Gavin Gunning are the 3best players in the rep of Ireland U21s and will all be future full Internationals, Aidy has been outstanding since he came into the Irish team. RoI manager Noel King.
You guys wouldn't know a decent footballer if you were tackled by one. There is a section of leeds fans who don't know much about football but simply support the team because its where they are from and if a player shows signs that he may leave all of a sudden he is not good enough anyway. The lad wont be sitting in the reserves anywhere except in your mind.

Very over-rated in my opinion. Don't care either way if he goes.

If he is over-rated why was he offered a new contract, Warnock knows ALOT more about defending than any of the fans FACT

I think Leeds should sign Dean Lewington as a replacement for Aidy White
