Carlisle have cast doubt on the likelihood of Mike Grella returning to Brunton Park after manager Greg Abbott claimed Leeds United were looking for other opportunities for the American striker.
The League One club appear to have ruled themselves out of a fresh deal for Leeds defender Lubomir Michalik, and Grella's immediate future is up in the air with Carlisle awaiting a response to their request to keep the 23-year-old.
Whilst Grayson has set out that he wishes to keep Grella for the future, it seems Michalik will likely be on his way out if a suitor can be found.

West Ham have handed a trial to highly-rated Brazilian midfielder Sasha, skysports.com understands.
The 20-year-old, full name Lucas Pacheco Affini, is out-of-contract with his current club Gremio Prudente, and he is taking the opportunity to open talks with a number of English clubs.
West Ham have now stepped to the head of the queue to check on the former Brazilian youth international.
Sasha, who began his career with Brazilian giants Corinthians, has played most of his career as a holding midfielder, but can also play out wide or as a full-back.
The fact he also has Italian citizenship means he can play in England without the need for any work permit.
The likes of Blackburn, Newcastle, Leeds and Charlton are also believed to be keen on him.

Manchester City midfielder Michael Johnson admits his career will probably be best served by joining another club on loan for the rest of the season.
Johnson has made just two substitute appearances for City since September 2008 and has been sidelined since December 2009 with a cruciate ligament injury.
He stepped up his quest to return to fitness by playing 45 minutes for City's reserves in the 4-0 victory against Rochdale in the EDS Senior Cup on Tuesday.
I for one don't want a crocked unfit player for the rest of the season. Johnson is weeks from playing a full 90 minutes, then stepping up from reserve to first team football will take time. There is no point in signing this player to have him be a bit part or reserve player. Get someone who is fit and can do a job for us. {ed's note - when does the loan window shut? It is after the main transfer window, would it not be worthwhile getting him towards the end of that when he is ready to play?}

Some blokes said smithy got a load of frozen food from Iceland delivered to his house and hence he's staying!
First off I would like to see smudger back but i don't think it will happen.
Secondly as if a Premiership footballer would spend money on iceland products? it's not as if he's hard up. Now I appreciate that Iceland is the Marks and Spencers of Newcastle but don't tar everyone with the same brush mate.
I'm off to laugh a bit more! Absolute classic smudger shops at iceland! tellin that one in the pub later.

The Kilgallon rumour does have something to it. The rumours are that he may well be back to Leeds this month on a perm deal, there is a clause in the loan that he can be recalled by Sunderland if a perm offer comes in for him as Donny don't have the option to buy. However, personally I think its not going to happen and its getting a bit boring being linked with our old players all the time, was kind of hoping the Commons rumour would come to something but that seems to have died now as well

Smith and Woodgate would be great signings but in my opinion there is no way Bates will shell out the wages both players would request or should I say the contribution Spurs and Newcastle would want.
Grayson has always been very cautious when it comes to new signings, and keeps his cards close to his chest. This has been demonstrated in the past with the signings of Somma, Nunez, Faye and Thompson to name but a few.
I think the following will leave on loan or be sold in the transfer window:
Grella - Southampton - Loan
Crowe - Peterborough - £100K
Michalik - Carlisle - £200k
Bessone - Motherwell - Loan
As for new arrivals who knows. In Grayson we trust.
