Leeds to sign Joel ward in swap deal for some of our unwanted and George friend also looking likely, as is el hadji diouf!

MOT LUFC

Believable19 Unbelievable24

Idiot. Portsmouth have a transfer embargo so how can they take some of our unwanted? He may well sign for us next week but will be straight cash deal if so

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't want El-Hadji Diouf at Elland Road

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi, to save me a trawl through Wikipedia/Google, who is George friend? And why is he looking likely?
Tes!

Agree0 Disagree0

Friend is donny left back and would be a good signing .we should also go get James Coppinger aswell for midfield

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi, cheers for that, looks decent enough, the "Cop" good also, but I really do not wish to see Diouf, but if the Warlock wants him then I will comply.
Tes!

Agree0 Disagree0

George Friend is not Donny left back he's played centre half all season and is rubbish Tommy Spurr is left Back and a very good one at that we should get him

Could i urge everyone to start posting a name or some sort of sign-off after every rumour in order to improve the reliability/credibility of rumour - Ed037 {Ed037's Note - Just to clarify this is me posting}

Believable12 Unbelievable8

I liked the whole anonymous thing to be honest.. RB {Ed003's Note - We don't }

Agree0 Disagree0

Good idea ed 37 I always put one on end of mine but mine are really questions as I hear f all up ea

Chorley White

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said Ed, mine are just what ive heard on the grape vine and things ive heard been wispered in the club as my nephews are bothe at leeds united, ones just doing his coaching badges and won an award for it as clemence and maccormack gave him it on the night, name is jordan stocks and is now set for a apprentaship with them and is a talented footballer for garforth. Also there is my younger nephew who is only 12 and is goin through the trial motions at youth level but is also doin the same at man city but would choose leeds all day long but he's a real talent. his name is Coby macnamara, so watch this space everyone because im dead proud of them bothe. mot4life

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe look to rate people like eBay? That way we know who the people in the know are and who plays on their comp after school? {Ed013's Note - I will ask the question, it will require a lot of thought and it comes back to needing a log in system with a username etc}

Beckford?
I reckon some of the more experienced QPR players will leave, the likes of Derry and Kenny, maybe even some others.

OUTS
White
Clayton
All the others transfer listed
I reckon if we could get maybe 4mil total for all listed players, and snoddy resigns, we will be make some decent signings

Believable14 Unbelievable16

As I posted White has or will sign new contract. Comes from family member but not allowed to say or no more info.

Yet a again another post that is just your bloody opinion, when will people register when they type in this website it's called LeedsRUMOURS.co.uk not Leeds this is what I think might happen but have no basis to that just what I woke up and thought while I was having a s**t.co.uk

How about going for Senderos at Fulham? Not exactly a regular in their side and his contract expires next June. Given his contractual situation, a fee of 1.5M would get him in my opinion. Dig deep into them pockets Papa Smurf!!

Believable5 Unbelievable30

If we spend £1.5m on a player I pray to god its not senderos! Yes he's not bad but I think £1.5m could be spent better elsewhere!

Scot MOT!

Thats a rediculas amount of money to be spent on one player. when were looking for players in all departments, show your not foxes fan. mot4life

Aidy White will sign new contract . Turns down Arsenal. VGA source

Believable12 Unbelievable26

Ha ha, never will be good enough to play for Arsenal, never the greatest at LEEDS

Agree0 Disagree0

He's an average player atm, with good potential, but I expect him to join Newcastle and spend a couple of seasons out on loan.

Agree0 Disagree0

I was never that keen seeing him play LB, as i've personally always preferred the traditional no nonsense LB, that likes to stay back and really put the tackles in.

Much preferred him in the midfield, and would like to see him sign a new contract. I think the lad has got potential, and would hate to see him go to the premiership and sit in the reserves.

Matt mills to join leeds on a season long loan from leicster ino warnock said he wont be looking to bringing ln any loan players but leeds arnt willing to match leicster's price what they paid for him the deal will include a option to make it a permanent move if we get promoted to the prem? Mot looking forward to next season more than any other {Ed037's Note - Got a source?}

Leeds to sign the following players in the summer joel ward, george boyd, sammy clingan, paul green, luke chambers, and luke varney? Mot

Believable24 Unbelievable15

Now this looks really realistic to me, looks like what we need.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be really pleased with all of those -and realistic -with the exception of Varney. Need someone who can offer virtually guaranteed goals -obviously Beckford would be perfect!

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2012 15:33:58
I would like Leeds to sign:
Jermaine Beckford
Joel Ward
Paul Green
Max Gradel

All realistic signings, would love to see Beckford and Gradel back at ER! MOT.

Believable19 Unbelievable33

Gradel is not realistic. He's not coming back, face it. other 3 are possible, beckford might take a bit of negotiating though!

Agree0 Disagree0

Gradel wont come back, happy in French league, is it just me thinking he was really greedy and used to run with the ball well but held it for far to long when he could or chipped or crossed in or cut it back for someone else, used to bug me watching every week he would do it, but don't get me wrong he was a very good player and got goals just need to improve his mental side, id love him back but really really can't see it

Agree0 Disagree0

If Max was up for coming back, we'd be crazy not to take him -knows the league and the club, is quick, tricky and knows where the back of the net is: 20-odd goals in a season is not to be scoffed at!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok, maybe i was a bit adventerous with gradel, but i would like to see the other 4, and for everyone that didn't see beckford at the last game of the season, pearson dosen't like him and beckford loves leeds too much not to come back

Are there any solid rumours ed? Getting sick off
Looking on here and having to read people's pointless ' my team for next season' why would I care what there team is, only give a s**t about NW team, why don't you all stick to FIFA 12 and leave good reliable rumours to make there way on this site, because your doing my head in! {Ed037's Note - The only reasonably credible ones atm are Ward and Boyd, although others are gathering pace, such as the Sammy Clingan one and Beckford}

Believable20 Unbelievable1

Struggle to see beckford coming back if I'm honest, would be happy with ward and clingan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good post mate, needs to be said, I'm sick of seeing "my team for next season" who gives a s**t, all Alan smith or ex players or Grayson targets blah blah blah, most people don't know who where looking at/in talks with, only joel ward is the the most promising at the moment

Agree0 Disagree0

Completely agree with the original post doing my head in with this site keep putting rubbish up by little kids with unrealistic silly rumours. well said

Agree0 Disagree0

So you dont think were in with a chance of eden hazard ?

I think we should sign Kieran Westwood from sunderland he doesn't get a game and is a quality keeper

Believable12 Unbelievable6

We wanted him last year, yet another who rejected our contract for a bench spot in the premiership.

Agree0 Disagree0

Definitely! I loved Westwood when he was Coventry. Appars we were gonna sign him to replace kasper last year until Sunderland got him. I really hope we do sign him.

Agree0 Disagree0

OP here you can hardly blame the guy for wanting to have a go at the premiership but hopefully we can persuade him to come now

Agree0 Disagree0

Think it would be good for us and for him if he came, must prefer playing to be sat on a bench week in week out, not really doing himself any favours, good keeper and should join a club like us to show he is

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on -we cannot afford to go into a critical keeper again carrying a keeper about whom everyone has reservations. Like his predecessors, the two Kaspers -Lonergan is not a bad keeper, but unfortunately does have what appear to be insurmountable weaknesses too. Sadly, there will again be too many occasions during the season when he costs us at critical points, and NW cannot afford to take such a risk, given the investment going into other areas of the team. Shame, as Lonners seems a decent fella.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry, meant to say we cannot afford to go into a critical SEASON again carrying a keeper...

Guzan - Not sure, as I would imagine he would want starting football, keeping Lonergan and him happy?

Ward - He has been linked with everyone in the championship, but would be a great signing.

Chambers - Is he available for free? If he is I would certainly jump at the chance.

Ricketts - I honestly haven't heard much about him, I know he features now and then for Bolton

Leadbitter- I rate this lad, I really hope we make a move for him.

Watson - Again good player, and would be happy to see him at Leeds.

Diouf - Personally feel he is too much trouble.

Bothroyd - I'm not his biggest fan and feel we could do better with the wages he would demand.

All realistic transfer targets, and not too off the mark for the outs neither. Nice Work!

If any Leeds scouts are reading this go watch Daryl Kavanagh playing for shamrock rovers he will be the next Big thing to come out of the League of Ireland, he has a few goals on youtube mostly headers but that is not what he is all about the lad is excellent on the ball in midfield too very skillful with ball to feet a great passer of the ball too. Please get a look at him before he ends up with Sunderland or Reading. Although god knows what a bit of money would do to this guy lol

Believable4 Unbelievable5

We should really send scouts to watch shamrock rovers, I've been saying this for a while. I am a shamrock rovers fan aswell as a Leeds fan, they're my local team. Players like Finn, McCabe, Dennehey and Kavanagh are all worth gambling on, they're too good for the LOI and would sign for cheap, 250k max. Wages would be low as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im a rovers fan also, finn maybe, but dennenhy is terrible and mcabe wouldnt be good enough

Agree0 Disagree0

I've just looked up this guy on Wikipedia. A colourful character to say the least, he'd be a lively addition to the squad!

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2012 14:01:29
not saying players im naming are necessarily on our radar, but trying to think of a team that will challenge to win the league without being stupid with wages/money

Longergan
Ward
Clint Hill
Pearce
??
Snoddy
Ambrose
Clingan
Varney
Becchio
McCormack/Beckford

Ambrose would cost a bit but not unrealistic. Beckford might be stumbling block for wages and price but if Clayton leaves that will open up a bit of room for manoeuvre. Cannot see NW dropping Becchio as he rates him highly.

Believable5 Unbelievable18

Close to my first choice team:
Westwood (or Robinson or McCarthy)
Ward Bamba Pearce White
Snodgrass Ambrose Clingan Boyd
Beckford Bothroyd (or Deeney)
Subs: Lonergan Halford Lees Green McCleary
The rest of the current squad can be sold to make this happen!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ambrose ? Dream on mate ... he's going nowhere. You leeds lot are delusional ...and that's an understatement!

Agree0 Disagree0

If ambrose was gunna go to the prem he would have gone by now rather than staying at palace. realisticly palace dont have a chance of promotion next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why does everyone want to keep becchio? hes not been too good at the later part of the season, hes not playing to his best standard. We need 2 new striker imo.

Should go for butterfield he fits all requirements warnocks looking for and will not sign contract at dingles looked more hungrier than any of our midfield. Midfield should be hammil boyd butterfield wittinghamr or delph on season loan mad max should also be brought back to add pace along with beckford and morrison from norwich who will get snoddy for.5million

Jason Puncheon on Leeds' radar after turbulent relationships at Southampton and NW a fan after taking him to QPR on loan last season

Believable13 Unbelievable18

Will not get him due to good old father chrismass opening his big mouth about him. the man says we loose in investment, have a look in the mirror birdseye. mot4life

Agree0 Disagree0

Think you have to remember with Papa smurf to expect the unexpected. Also think if Warnock wants a player he will not take no as an answer from Bates if wages and transfer fees are realistic. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Would like to say to everyone that thinks we should sell snoddy, that regardless of pace, which he doesnt have much of, it doesnt matter! the whole point of a winger, is to set up chances and score goals. this season he finished 2nd in the assist chart only behind Burke of Birmingham. And he scored 12 goals. Enough said.

Believable26 Unbelievable7

Nowt. Wrong with Snods. He just needs a bit more space, which he will get with better players around him.Been too easy for teams to double up on him.Wont happen with good winger on other side,we'll be able to Stretch teams then.

Agree0 Disagree0

Everyone doesn't really want to sell or lose him it's just that don't want to receive peanuts or nothing for our best asset like we have in the past, need to think ahead, same game with clayton, might as well sell as we can still get a reasonable price

Agree0 Disagree0

Yehh good point. if he is going to go we wana get AT EAST 3.5m for him. and i agree, teams double up on him very quickly, because hes our best player. if we had more good players, they might double up elsewhere?

Agree0 Disagree0

Brilliant post! Well said and summed up what a great player he is! Really hope he signs and helps us next season we'd struggle to find half the player for the money we're likely to pay.

Agree0 Disagree0

Top player snoddy, some games were hard 4 him, with getting marked out the game through lack of investment on the leftside. which we did have but sold and never replaced. for bates, this must be like rocket science. stick to selling fish fingers instead of are players. SAD MAN WITH NO PLAN!! mot4life

Agree0 Disagree0

I like most Leeds fans like Snoddy but lets be realistic he isnt a great player he is a decent player in an average side. I hope im wrong and he turns into a premiership player but think the best he will ever do if he leaves is bottom half of Prem because of his lack of pace. In this day and age you need pace. Nobody wants him to leave but if he wont sign then we need to sell and get a couple of players in who want to play for the club. Thats just the way things are in football these days.

Agree0 Disagree0

Brilliant post but he cud do with shedding a few pounds add a bit more pace teams seem to shove two on him because he is so dangerous

Sources on Twitter are saying luke Varney is intresting boro but Leeds have nipped in and are holding talks already!
Also Joel ward is expected to sign late next week and White is the most likely to leave ER in the summer. Robert snodgrass had all but accepted his 1 year contract and is expected to be confirmed before the end if may.

Believable25 Unbelievable3

29yr old with a poor goal ratio over the last three seasons. we can get a better player than him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Snoddy is already on a one year contract why would we sign him to another one year contract? confused.com {Ed013's Note - Me too!}

Agree0 Disagree0

We need a younger, hungrier, fitter player than Varney -who else was impressed by Troy Deeney for Watford at Elland Rd: held the ball up very well.

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought it was a one year contract extension making it expire in 2014

Agree0 Disagree0

Warnock said if Leeds failed to gain promotion this season then snodgrass will go. So basically if it is a 1 year extension thn it will be so we can sell him with 18 month left on his contract not 6. Hence doubling his value

Agree0 Disagree0

Varney was fantastic in the prem for Blackpool, would love him to come to leeds as he can play upfront or on the wing which is just what we need!

Agree0 Disagree0

You have to look at the bigger picture here......When Wilko decided we were getting out of division 1 last time, he didnt buy players that we going to be good for 3-4 seasons he wanted 1 seasons wonders, we did however, get some better mileage out of the 1 season wonders than he thought....Warnock is doing exactly the same......he wants to get us out of this division this year ( probably because of the large bonus he gets!)..so he is looking for players who can hit the ground running and can gell quickley and win games...no matter how ugly...I would take a 40 year old goalie ( David James) if it meant that we would keep over 20 clean sheets..id take a striker thats over 30 ( kevin philips) if i could get 20+ goals from him its all about a 1 season hit.

Warnock has already stated, he wont stay after next July if we arent promoted. He is on a 1 season contract...this is the year, despite what you may read, there is bus loads of players queueing up to join Leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Who ever said troy michelling deeney is a good player is smoking some good sh=t. how many deeney's do you see 2 or 3. mot4life

Agree0 Disagree0

People should not be put of by us getting pompey players. think about it, they would have finished around where we did if they hadnt have had the point deductions

Agree0 Disagree0

Varney would be a decent squad player but nothing more than that , im sure we can do better

Agree0 Disagree0

Is it just me worried or is it everyone. We seem to be linked with players from all 3 teams that were relegated from the Championship.

Team full of players from relegated teams = trouble for us next season. {Ed037's Note - Just because a team went down doesn't mean they have bad players, for example, Blackburn's Junior Hoillet is attracting interest from top clubs. And the same is true for the Championship}

Believable13 Unbelievable6

I know what yoy saying but the individuals who we are signing have great talent. The team went down but they still had great players i mean look at billy sharp he was at doncaster at the beggining of the season. Leeds will go up next season i think.

Agree0 Disagree0

Your knowledge of football and players is obviously very limited mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

I remember how many clubs nipped in and took our players when we were relegated from the PL. They weren't bad players either.

Agree0 Disagree0

We got relegated from the premwith a brilliant team. It's not always down to the players.

Agree0 Disagree0

You're forgetting that if it wasn't for Portsmouth getting a 10 point deduction they wouldn't have been relegated. So it's not like they have a team of bad players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Scott Parker - Went down as captain of West Ham and in the last England game he captained them also look at when Leeds went down from the prem Mark Viduka, Gary Kelly, Lucas Radebe, etc its not always the individual players sometimes its the players around the stars that arent good enough. If we sign Ward and Clingan to go with Pearce i will be very happy and that goes for anyone that Warnock signs give the players a chance before we start to worry. In Warnock we trust MOT on on on

Agree0 Disagree0

We signed a Portsmouth player, Portsmouth let in fewer goals than we did. And they had a ten point deduction.

Look at the facts alittle more

Agree0 Disagree0

Not a problem if we're talking quality players, as we are: Pearce, Ward, Halford, Keogh, Nimely, Clingan, possibly Coppinger. Poor mangagement and bankruptcy can take even the best players down -remember Lennon, Viduka, Robinson, Smith et al, all of whom went on to play at the top of the prem; not to mention Healey, Blake, Cresswell etc. Actually an intelligent strategy if, like us, you're looking at value for money

Agree0 Disagree0

Seem to recall a lot of LUFC players going to all manner of Premier clubs when we were relegated from the Prem!
