Would love to know how much they're offering, if it's over 2 million then is a good offer depending on who the players are they can't be total carp if they seriously want byram. Hopefully alls revealed tommorrow.

West Ham are his boyhood team but think he will go to Everton, Martinez and the current defensive line up they have will give him more chance to progress to international level.

But at Everton he will be behind Coleman for rb and Coleman>Byram West Ham would probably give him more play time.

{Ed001's Note - he will get a chance for a while as Coleman is out injured right now.}

Right ed 01 and if Byrams as good as everyone thinks he is Coleman might go business is business. can't see Coleman staying at everton too long.

{Ed001's Note - Coleman has a lot of clubs interested and willing to offer big money for him, such as Man Utd, it could be a buy to give him a few months to settle in before selling Coleman in the summer. Though they do lack options at right back, as they don't really have much in the way of cover for Coleman.}

Was said that Coleman would suit the Bayern Munich mould also.

I think you're spot on with that one Ed001.

I think if Everton work on him the way they have done with Stones and Galloway then I think Sams Championship pedigree will stand him in good stead and he'll make a good addition to their squad.

Sam Byram has just signed for Everton.
Fee in region of £5m
Best wishes to him as he deserves it 👍👍.

I reckon this deal was done before the season started hence the out of place friendly match. That's why there was no bidding war.
Anyway, sorry to see him go, especially for that amount. I thought he was worth more when you see the prices offered around the place.

£5m includes all the add ons.
Cellino has managed to scrape a bit more for him 👍👍.

The fee includes add-ons. There is £500,000 up front and the the rest of the fee payable over 4 years.

The 3.75 million will be paid upfront. With the money premiership teams are getting Cellino wouldn't do a deal on the basis.

Fee to be 15 million, with Leeds to give back 11.25 mill in 12 monthly installments. 10% of any resale there after and £500k when makes 10 international appearances. a further million if he features in goal.

Thats what I heard from the chap who buys his newspaper from the same corner shop Martinez's dog walker goes to.

The Slough white: incorrect. This deal is payable over 4 years.

No surprise. This is how the vast majority of transfer deals are done. The deal offered by Everton is half a million, followed by instalments, with several add-on clauses.

When you see the phrase "up front", it simply means that part of a transfer that doesn't include clauses or add ons.

{Ed001's Note - hmmm I seem to remember the laws of the game being changed to make all transfers payable within 3 years. Unless something has changed recently I have missed, you are wrong.}

its not happened yet, leess have only accepted the transfer offer, byram still needs to agree to a contract, pass a medical and then agent fees need to be payed.

Bristol City have failed to sign Zac Clough from Bolton.
Surely with Sam Byram due to leave us this month we could stump £2m for this attacking youngster!

Zak clough isn't worth anything like £2 million more like a £500k player.

It really doesn't matter what he's worth, the question is, is he any better than what we've got.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Jan 2016 13:13:34
I think "worth" in football is irrelevant. He is worth what fBolton will accept.

With regards to how good he is, is he any better than Phillips, Dawson or any other youngster we have in the side. I don't think so. So pass please.
